Good teacher. Has good examples. Can be dry and has a "snob" aura at times.
hes awsome!
He keeps the material interesting and clarifies any questions that you might have. Study the text book! His exam questions are based on applied knowledge. Very good prof!
Great teacher with a sense of humour. Besides the text, his exams are also based on his notes which are not covered in the text. So I'd suggest you attend his classes regularly. Recommend him to anyone.
I had Sean for 2 classes, and I found him to be one of the best teacher I have had. He expected a lot out of his students. I had his friend Cory recently he was dull. Teaching take time and dedication and Cory forgot. Psychology is not hard if you spend the time necessary to learn it. Sean will help you the most if you do the work necessary.
A really good prof. Sets very clear expectations and doesn't try to trick you on the exams. If you read the book and print his notes, you'll do very well.
AWESOME!!! Loved his class!!!
get sean as your prof if you can!! probably my favourite class I've taken over the past 2 yrs. posts all his slides on BB. pretty much straight from the text. midterms and final were pretty easy but only if you actually study for them. highly recommended prof!
Sean is very straight forward. He tests strictly on the concepts and not about tiny minute insignificant details. He posts his notes on blackboard, and his exams are pretty easy if you study the notes and the text. He is very funny, and has tons of humerous examples that help you remember key facts for exams
Great Prof! Teaches the material and makes it interesting. Two midterms and a final, and he doesn't throw any trick questions or anything. Get this prof if you can.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! I loved having him. he makes psychology interesting and he knows what he is talking about!
ABSOLUTELY the best prof i have had so far. Hes so friendly and makes psychology so interesting and cool. i sit front row 8am everyday and i havent missed a class. His tests are quite difficult but are strictly on the concepts. the only reason the exams are hard is because there is alot of material to the subject.
A class act! This professor is professional, has a great deal of knowledge and experience with the material and yet is not at all pretentious or aloof about it. Really treats students with dignity and respect. Incidentally he is also treated with same by his students. I wish that this was more often the case with students and profs. A great prof!
Extremely good teacher. Always made class exciting and always had useful/funny examples to help illustrate concepts. Incredibly easy marker! All together fantastic teacher.
Whatever I say would have to be everything everyone else has already written. Enjoyed his examples the most!
Had him for 105 and he really is an Excellent prof. Posts notes, extremely helpful as well. Lectures can be quite boring, but he does expand a lot on his notes and incorporates experience into material. All in all, would take another course with him again
i love SEAN ROGERS!!!! i had him for psych 104 and 105. his tests were fair, but you had to study. his exams were multiple choice and written. his final exams were cumulative, which i don't like because there was so much to know. nonetheless i love this prof :D
He was a great prof, I found his multiple choice questions a little tough even though they were mostly straight forward. I loved how most of his examples were about his personal life and own experiences.
I took him for developmental psyc. The classes are extremely boring. Attendance is not mandatory. He puts all slide on blackboard. His final exam was made up of the weekly online quizzes we took.
one of the best teachers ive ever had!! uses really good examples and makes everything really interesting even if its simple stuff.
he is great prof, talks loud abit , but his lectures are interesting...as long as you attend his lectures and read the chapters you will be fine for the exams, his exams are not hard.
Love him, he's so funny it's like a cheesy funny but he's always cracking me up. You can tell he loves his job and if you ever have a question he doesn't make you feel dumb at all. He's great
Sean is extremely helpful whenever you have questions, the slides are easy to follow and examples are actually relatable. I intend on taking him for Psych 105 as well as any other class he intends to teach in the future, highly recommended.
Sean is a good guy and loves his job. Very knowledgeable about Psychology and general stuff. You won't have problems hearing him in class, and uses relevant examples to clarify class material. He is an extremely picky marker for essays, etc. but you will finish his class with better writing skills than when you started. Recommended.
I loved Sean. He was a great prof, and was very funny. Attendance was not mandatory and he posted everything on blackboard. However, I would go just to laugh at his jokes! It was an enjoyable class. Midterms were challenging but if you study you'll get a good grade.
Really great psyc prof! His notes were clear and consistent and he had great examples for every concept. His jokes made the class more entertaining. I recommend reading the textbook and his notes in order to prep for exams. Great GPA booster class.
Rogers was one of, not the, best teacher I have had at MacEwan. Make sure to read the textbook and follow it closely. Gives online weekly quizzes which are tough since they're timed but all in all an easy boost to your grade. Hilarious jokes, and very passionate. Hard essay marker but very willing to help when needed & posts on bb. Loved his class.
BEST PROF EVER. My only complaint is that he can't teach every one of my classes.
Best psychology prof.
Get this prof! Sean is very funny, and is a great guy. Makes the material interesting and outlines concepts clearly. His class was fun to attend. Just make sure to read the textbook chapters he covers in class because he puts information not necessarily covered in class from the text on the midterms and finals!
Great professor! Funny and approachable.
He's honestly the best! Gives great and often hilarious examples to better understand concepts. Class discussions are always interesting, his exams are straight forward if you read the textbook. So missing class isn't a big deal, but you won't want to cause he's THE BEST!
Awesome! Great/memorable examples, very enthusiastic about psychology. Fair exams. Approachable. You wouldn't have to be in class because he posts his slides but you don't want to miss because there is always something funny said or done. great class, hope to be in his class again in the future.
I enjoyed Seans teaching however, the tests were super hard! If you don't memorize word for word out of the text book you are not going to get good marks in this class!
Amazing Prof! Changed my second sem schedule around just so I can have him for Psyc 105. Highly recommended!
I went through a lot of different instructors so I know when I say that he is one of the absolute BEST Macewan has to offer.
Take his class. He is funny, knowledgeable, patient and respectful. Not only that, but he makes the course material relevant and applicable to real life, which for me is HUGE. There were 3 midterms but all were very fair: no tricks/surprises if you took notes & read the book. Go to class even though the notes are online; he adds so much.
So funny, and very straight forward! Always available after class and it's very easy to book an appointment. He tells you the sections that'll be on the exam, and you can tell he's very passionate about psychology. Great teacher, enjoyed the class.
Sean is hands down one of the best psychology teachers I have ever hard. He understands what the students go through and he is always there to help clarify anything that you don't understand. If you attend his classes you will do well. I hate research but he finds a way to make everything he teaches interesting.
Sean is the absolute best professor I've ever had. His tests are easy and there are no surprises. If you read the textbook and show up to class, you'll do extremely well on the tests.
I never wanted to miss a class bc he would make learning so entertaining, which lead to a lot of things being easier to remember on tests. He never showed biases and if he said something one sided, he would quickly correct what he really meant. He is very understanding& a little awkward. Online weekley textbook quizes which is a pain, but helpful.
Sean always made class fun. Every class there was funny stories and examples to help students remember topics and facts.
He is awesome, makes class very interesting and posts his notes online. He is also very helpful.
His tests are pretty easy, his assignments on the other hand.. I found him to be a hard marker when it came to his assignments especially when it came to grammar.
He was a great prof and I enjoyed the class a lot! He was funny, and made lectures interesting while teaching the material very well. His lectures are very useful and I would recommend going to class. The only downfall I noticed was how long it took to get marks back. Be prepared to wait 2-3 weeks. Tests were not hard as long as you study.
Such an amazing prof. His lectures were always interesting and he is a very approachable and charismatic guy. Just make sure you keep up with reading the required chapters in the text. His notes are very organized and he made learning enjoyable!
Amazing prof. He's super funny and makes lectures enjoyable. Incorporates personal stories to help you understand. Easy going, approachable. Posts notes online. Exams have both lecture and textbook material. You can tell he gets excited about Psych. He genuinely wants his students to do well. I would take again for sure.
Amazing professor, easy to talk to and connect with. He knows what he's talking about. Tests are easy, study the textbook and attend the lectures and you'll do perfectly fine.
Sean if great! He makes his lectures entertaining which helps students remember the content for the tests. His grades consists of three midterms and a final exam. He is very clear about his expectations. All of his power points are posted online which are helpful outlines, but I would also recommend reading the textbook.
Overall, the class was really great! Very easy to understand, he answers questions and adds humour to his lectures. The midterms weren't too difficult, pretty straightforward : Look over notes, read a little from the text and you're golden. The only thing that'd make it better, if the videos for some experiments were to be shown in class.
Sean's good an explaining all the material in a easy to understand way. His lectures are well organized. Tests are straight forward and there are not surprises.
Sean is awesome. Made the class interesting and was great at explaining lectures by giving many examples we would understand. Would definitely recommend, review notes and read textbook and the midterms will be fine!
Sean has been the best teacher I have had so far at MacEwan. He is really clear and he makes learning psychology so much fun. I have thought about majoring in psych just because he was such a good teacher and made psych my favourite class this semester. Definitely recommend
By far the best professor I have ever had at Macewan. His lectures are hilarious and completely fly by. The exams are straightforward. No sense of trying to fool you with little details. He is also extremely approachable and helpful if you have any issues with anything!
Sean's lectures were fun and interesting! His class always blew by! His real-life examples helped me learn the concepts. I was not a big fan of his Pwrpoint notes though. Not always organized logically or detailed. He tests on the textbook, regardless of whether it was covered in class or not. Midterms were fair, and the final had no written Q's.
Excellent presentation skills despite utilizing PowerPoint during every lecture. Does a good job creating a comfortable atmosphere that made learning easier despite so much material to cover. Genuinely a good person who teaches for the right reasons. Talks to you, not at you. First year students could benefit the most from him. Highly recommended.
Sean is a phenomenal Prof that uses his humor to bring life to dry material. His tests are more difficult, the class average on the midterm was 65, which he said was normal for him. However, he is generous in marking papers , so that makes up for it. You may be able to pass w/o the textbook, but it would be hard to write your research paper w/o it.
Sean is a great prof, he replied to all my emails and made sure to clear up any questions I had. Sean knows a lot about his field and is great at being able to express his knowledge to his students. Wonderful teacher. There was one paper, which was pretty easy I got 87%, although he is hard on APA format.
Sean made every lecture fun and made a 50 minute class seem like a 15 minute class. Read the textbook though because his power point notes are sometimes very vague and not clear enough to study later on.
One of my favourite profs. Really good at explaining the material, his examples (and humour added into the examples) make you understand everything very well. Exams are very straightforward and there are no surprises. If you want an A, then read the textbook religiously. Taking him again for 105. Great guy
Sean was one of the best profs I've ever had.. he is hilarious and makes lectures super fun and easy to attend. His exams are easy... sometimes I second guessed my answers cause I thought there would be no way he'd put that easy of a question on. Overall an amazing prof! Would definitely recommend!!
Sean was a good prof & kept class interesting with a good sense of humor. He is very clear and gives good examples, you only have time to either highlight slides or type in a computer. He talks fast, and everything he says should be written down & text is fair game so read it! I wouldn't say he's a really hard marker, but an A is definitely earned.
He was a great professor; hilarious, passionate and clear on his expectations! He made a 50 minute class pass by so quickly and I looked forward to his lectures even though he posted his notes prior to classes (which is another reason he's awesome)! His exams are very fair; you don't need luck to write his exams if you study his notes diligently!
Sean is incredible. His humor, clear in-class examples, and wonderful powerpoint slides make class fly by. One of the best lecturers I have ever had, and probably ever will. Constantly allows time to review graded exams (and provids correct answers), and stressed his own contact information as well as his TAs'. Fair exams if you skim the textbook
Sean is helpful and interesting, but his tests are stupid. They are on things he doesn't even talk about. What made me really mad is he wont test on big important topics then go ahead and ask on a little un needed fact from the textbook. He is quite annoying that way.
Liked sean as a person and for trying to teach such a DULL class in a fun interesting way. He's a hard marker when it comes to formatting so make sure you know your stuff. 1 midterm, 1 final, a research project, and 2 essays. Test/Final are ALL multiple choice, not a fan of this AT ALL! Very simple class with simple information, just know it!
I really like him as a person and his lectures are good, but I found him to be a tough marker for our written assignments, he is very strict about APA. His tests were also all multiple choice, which I was not a big fan of.
Had Sean for both 104 and 105, he is wonderful. Would recommend anyone to take him. Genuinely knows his material and uses funny examples to explain it. Midterms and finals are very fair, as long as you take notes and read the textbook you will do well. Very nice guy
Amazing speaker and presenter. Very engaging with the students and hilarious. Tests are tough, as you're expected to study everything from the textbook, lectures, and powerpoints. He puts his notes on blackboard, but attendance is necessary if you want a grade higher than a B-. Genuinely cares about students' success and is helpful if you ask.
I would love to take another class with Sean. His lectures are clear and will answer any questions you have in class. He mentions a lot of real-life examples that are not on powerpoints and do show up on tests so add those in your notes. He makes class enjoyable with his jokes.
Sean is great as a prof. he really makes his class interesting and he have a way of letting you remember his material. would take another class with him without doubt. exams are fair .WE NEED PROF LIKE SEAN IN MACEWAN!
Sean is one of the best profs at macewan. 8am classes suck but sean made them interesting and work hard to rely the information in capturing ways. Exams were all multiple choice and straight forward. one paper that was fairly easy and fun to do. i would defiantly take another class with sean
I enjoy his energy and clear passion for the topics he speaks about. He is extremely engaging! I think his tests are fair but be sure to read the text as his PowerPoint/lectures don't capture all the important information OR the information he tests on. Would definitely recommend his class!
He is one my favourite professors ever, I love him.
Seans lectures are amazing, as he is a hilarious professor! Though I do love the criteria and the lectures, I found that this was the class I was the most unprepared in. I think this was because he does not cover everything that will be on the midterm in class, which I found to be difficult as a first year student - and with four other classes.
Sean is a great prof. I enjoyed going to his class. The content is fairly easy and his lectures are directly related to exam material. He posts all his lectures but adds extra content in his lectures that will help in exams.
He's pretty funny and makes things as easy as possible! Would recommend!
He made his lectures enjoyable because of his humor and use of examples from his normal life. His notes were always very detailed and he would expand on them in class. Always posted the presentations online which is helpful if you miss a class.
Sean was intriguing, used many applications to explain topics. Both the textbook and lectures are fair game for exams, exams both MC and written so must know the material. Overall, looked forward to going to class, felt like i was learning something exciting!! Would take his classes again 100%
Sean has got a great sense of humour that complements his lecture style, which is primary PowerPoint-based with a few videos thrown into the mix. He has clear expectations of what will be tested and takes the time to go over any and all questions you might have in and out of class. Great intro professor!
AMAZING Psyc prof. Made it fun and easy to learn. Great at explaining abstract concepts, and his tests were extremely fair. Only has midterms and research participation for marks (plus final obviously), and he posts everything on BB. Tests are a good combo of lectures and textbook readings.
Great teacher. Always prepared for class, knows exactly what he is talking about, open to questions during class, is willing to go back to the previous slide if someone has missed words, and is generally very interesting to listen to because of the examples that he uses. Make sure to study, read & take notes from the textbook in addition.
Sean is a really great professor and is quite funny, he makes the class interesting and fun. His midterms and final are based on lecture notes and the textbook but they are pretty easy if you read both. I highly recommend Sean for Psyc 104, he is always there to help you and it is a great GPA booster class.
Sean is great, he always gives you quirky examples that are sure to stick in your brain so that you can better understand the concepts. You have to go to class and read the textbook for his exams, he really makes you work for an A. Really great guy!
Overall one of my fav profs so far at Macewan. Super funny and engaging. I actually got excited to come to class. Super clear guidelines and expectations for exams. Really good at thoroughly explaining things. Super passionate. Only thing is some of the material on his exams are not covered in class - only in the text book so make sure to read.
Really average teacher, tests are straight forward and as long as you read the textbook + look over in class notes should be an easy class. Lecture is somewhat bland, notes are posted online although sometimes they are different then the in class notes. Attend class if you want insight on the midterm, and final.
I was really excited to have Sean seeing the reviews, but I was extremely disappointed. Not sure if it was him or teaching assistants marking the long answer on midterms but whoever was they marked HARD! Lectures kind of match the textbook but it was extremely frustrating that there would be sometimes 3 different powerpoint for one chapter.
Great prof, very engaging and offers good examples. Nice thing about this class is he posts all the notes online so attendance is not mandatory. I relied on the textbook mostly and hardly came to class and did fine. I also really enjoyed the 3 midterm schedule instead of the regular two, it made it much easier to study. I'd recommend this class.
LOVED Sean! He was an amazing prof, gave great explanations and was always super helpful. Attendance is not mandatory but some of the slides he went over weren't posted online. As well as he gives great connections for remembering concepts so I would recommend going to class every once and a while. Overall just an absolutely amazing prof.
I had him for 104&105, great instructor for both of them. His lectures are hilarious and he gives a lot of relevant examples from his career as a psychologist so you actually remember the concepts. If you want to do well, you will also have to read and take notes from the textbook for the exams as he doesn't cover all content during the lectures.
Great idea with it being online, and 1 hour in class. Open book quiz's since it is online, you get 3 attempts and they take the best grade. Can survive doing textbook study only, lecture videos didn't help me much. Activity n class is worth 1 mark each, if you don't go to any you'll lose quite the percentage. If you study well you'll do well.
Good teacher, but didn't really get to know him as the classroom was so big. Easy to get a good grade in this class if you put in the work.
He gave me feedback and recommendations on an assignment and allowed me to resubmit with changes if I wanted. He's knows the stress of being an undergraduate and the panic of class presentations so he is super considerate and easily accessible if you need anything. Group midterms are a great idea. Would strongly recommend for 104, 105, or 212.
Sean is a great prof! 212 is pretty dry, but he keeps students engaged with clear, loud voice, and entertaining and relatable stories/examples. There was a group portion for the midterm which actually turned out to be super helpful (I was skeptical at first). Very fair grader for papers. Was always available and helpful during office hours.
Great prof and if you keep up with the readings, lecture videos, and come to class regularly you should ace the class! write neat notes so when you go back to study for final its a breeze! overall a pleasant class
Sean himself is a great prof, his power points at the beginning of class clearly cover the main topics of the chapter. As long as MacEwan keeps doing this class as a hybrid course, be prepared to read a chapter every week or class won't make sense.
Best. prof. ever!
Sean is a super great prof!! He's funny and he knows his stuff. You have to read the whole chapter in the textbook though, but the in class activities are super fun, and as long as you do it you'll get a good mark. Strongly recommend him for all Psyc classes!
Such a great guy! Since psychology is a hybrid course (in class and online) you do need to go to class and do the activities for your participation marks, but the stuff it super easy... if you took bio 30 in high school this class is a easy A+ because its all the same! I definitely recommend Sean, I enjoyed him so much Im taking psyc 105 with him
Very knowledgeable and if you go to the learning centre for extra help hes accessible. Funny and engaging lecturer. Heavy material but if you do the work required and do some rote memorization youll get an A.
He is funny and really nice. Although the lectures are mostly about the class activity he gives you useful information at the beginning. Relates the material covered really well to life situations.
I had Sean for PSYC 105 and he's an amazing lecturer. He's funny and provides plenty of examples to help you understand concepts. He does expect you to read the textbook as some concepts aren't covered in lecture, however I didn't read it and I did just fine. His exams are pretty easy (multiple choice, some matching, 2 written and a bonus).
Was reluctant to take this class because of the individual presentation component however I stuck with it because of it's value for psych. Assignments are faily easy as he is available if you need help or clarificaiton, however lectures can sometimes be unclear and criteria for assignments is vague. I would recommend him for PSYC 212!
Sean is a really great guy. His lectures are interesting and keep's students engaged. Psych 104 is a hybrid course, but I felt I learned more from his 50-minute lecture every week than I did from reading the textbook.
Sean gives great in-class examples to break down the material to make it easily understandable. He is very knowledgeable and can be quite funny at times. There was a few things that he didn't cover that I saw on the exams, but I didn't read any of the textbook and still got a good mark. Overall a very fair prof who makes psychology interesting.
Amazing professor. His lectures cover all the material you need to know, and he uses lots of relevant examples from his career as a clinical psychologist. His stories are hilarious, and he truly wants you to succeed. Tests are straightforward and questions are right from the lectures and study guide. Highly recommend!
Sean is amazing. He is so engaging and hilarious that i was excited to go to class every day. He basically tells you what will be on the exams, he gives tons of relevant examples to help students better understand the course material and easy to talk to outside of class. Sean's the best. Take his class
Sean is a great guy, and obviously cares about this class. Going to class is super beneficial, to write down things that he says that aren't in the notes - he says that the textbook is pretty outdated. I enjoyed learning this information, but it's definitely a lot to remember and memorize for each test!
Absolutely love him. Really captures the attention of his class. I hate psychology but having him as a professor makes it 100 times better.
with the new hybrid style its hard to rate the prof because almost everything is self taught, the one hour in class is solely for participation activities. any questions are all through the TA's, not him and the videos online are also another prof. if there was an option to take the full lecture, im sure he would be great. online would be the same.
With the hybrid class it's hard to rate the profs, however Sean always try's to make people engage in the activity and make them less boring with his one liner's and witty sense of humor. The class itself is a joke, the online quizzes you google, concept checks unlimited try's, research just answer randomly takes 5 min. Show up to class 4.0.
Such a nice guy! Really takes time to make the class interesting and the content memorable. Hes also hilarious! If you take the hybrid half online / half in class, you should definitely attend class. You receive 12% in total for participation marks if you show up. Very good prof!
With psych 104/105 being hybrid courses of teaching yourself the chapter material, then going to a 50 minute class to take part in an activity, the first 15/20 of Rogers instructing/going over the activity is the best part! Hes super funny and engaging. Id definitely take a non hybrid, full 2-3/week lecture course with him.
THE BEST. He makes difficult concepts so easy to understand with his analogies. Really funny too!
I wish his lectures were 3 hrs rather than 1 hr weekly b/c I could literally listen to him talk forever. He is so funny! I did not find the blended version too hard because psychology really interests me, however b/c it was blended there was a lot of work that needed to be done on your own time. If you like psych it's OK though
Hes an amazing teacher, makes learning fun by relating to students. I highly recommend taking his class!
Sean Rogers is passionate about the class material and is very excited about it. He works well with the class and is willing to work one-on-one in the learning centre to help with lectures and prepare for tests. He's freaking hilarious and very well respected.
Super friendly, his overall personality makes the class super enjoyable, passionate about what he's talking about.
Its psych so you gotta do the quizzes online yourself and just show up to class for an activity mark but he was super funny and made the class really fun. beaut
Sean is a great prof. Even though the class is 50 mins a week he still manages to make the content clearer and engage the class. Most of your marks are handed to you in psych 104. The class activities reflect the short answer questions on Midterm and Final. Take Sean's class if you get the chance. I always looked forward to going to class.
Hilarious prof. He uses many different examples to explain concepts and honestly has an answer for every question. Though it is a hybrid class, he makes class enjoyable. Definitely recommend!
He's really funny and has a great understanding of the material. I found him to be effective for the hybrid course because the material itself was straightforward to learn on your own and he would just lead the activities and explain more difficult concepts in class to reinforce things. You will do well if you go to class often and do the readings.
Such a goof prof! His lectures are theatrical and fun and he makes the course a delight! He's a little hard of a marker for papers and short answer exams, very strict on APA and the final is cumulative which is always a bummer but defiantly a good prof to take psychology with.
Amazing prof. Online class - you don't need textbook. Online readings and quizzes, activities are done during class - only allowed to miss 2. Midterm is easy but worth 36% of your grade. Easy marks. Really recommend Sean as a prof. Makes class fun and enjoyable.
2 written assignments, 1 presentation, 1 midterm but there was a group portion. Overall, very easy marker, especially for the presentation. Gives free access to the textbook on blackboard. Very nice man.
Sean is really good at giving examples of the content in the course. Psyc 104 has a lot of opportunities to bump your grade, the only thing is reading the textbook is a must and can be very draining and time-consuming, so be prepared to read. Exams are not as straight forward and force's you to apply yourself.
UNCLEAR rubrics. Takes 2 months to mark proposals. Yes he marks easy on the presentation. But gives you the worst mark on proposal n other writing assignements, then posts your final grade last minute. Ambiguous midterms, multiple answers for his mc . The absolute worst powerpoints. Goes off topic so many times. DO TAKE HIM. Take Craig blatz
Super nice guy who is really friendly and has cool stories. The class itself is pretty boring but he tries to make it enjoyable. He is a tough grader though and his exams can be difficult but he is so willing to help you if you ask. Would recommend!
He's a really good professor, research methods isn't always the most interesting but I actually enjoyed his class. There is a oral presentation, a group and individual midterm, a proposal, an ethics paper and a final exam. The oral presentation is based on your proposal and is a good way to outline your paper and you get feedback.
Sean is one of the best professors at MacEwan. If you have a chance to take any course with him, I highly recommend. This course is mandatory for psych students and although it is dry and can be tough to learn, Sean is available for clarification.
This prof is the most humble and most passionate professor I know. He cares about his students, and the topics he teaches. I was fortunate enough to have him for Infant Development. Highly recommend taking this class. However, it is heavy work, but it is worthwhile. I recently graduated, and work in the field. Things I learned from him I still use.
We're in the middle of a pandemic and dealing with a million other things but he couldn't cut us some slack on his marking or number of ridiculous assignments. His marking was overly harsh unlike any teacher I've ever taken a course with. Every week I felt like I was drowning in this class and I hated it very much. DON'T TAKE HIM TRUST ME!
I can tell Sean is passionate about psychology but hes a very harsh marker even on small module assignments which is unfair with the lack of guidance. When online, this class is all reading the textbook on your own time and that is difficult because many of the terms are very complex and hard to understand on your own. Avoid him online if you can
His feedback on assignments was very helpful and he was very responsive over email. We had to create a hypothetical research proposal which seemed a bit overwhelming at times. That said, he answered whatever questions I had and made the assignments seem a bit less daunting. Lots of assignments. Stay on top of assignments and dont rush through them.
Amazing lectures, I took this class during covid online and received an hour-long lecture and two videos based on activities to complete. Only a few tests after each chapter and provided good feedback. The only issue is I mentioned I was unable to retrieve links on an assignment and was not given a clear response and received a zero on it.
Lack of feedback on papers and assignments. Not graded on time, felt like going into the final blind. Quizzes not relating to course material, extra work to rectify marks. Full of annoying test bank questions. Doable, but the course absolutely exhausted me.
I took Dr. Rogers for a completely online psyc 105 class. It was not bad. Super nice prof. There were 8 chapters with an assignment and quiz after them. The assignments were not hard and as long as you did them you got full marks. 2 attenpts at quizzes and he took the best mark. As long as you use the study guide the midterm and final are chill
I wanted to like Sean but I just couldnt. He gives zero feedback on any assignments or papers. Just generic as you can see psychology is complex type comments that arent relevant to your assignment. Very frustrating and he took forever to mark assignments, I went into the final not knowing about 40% of my grade. Such a hard marker too
I took this class online during covid. He was alright, not much feedback but sometimes can be a hard marker
Great prof just have to put in the work. Make sure you take good notes from the textbook chapters otherwise you will find the chapter quizzes difficult. Work hard and you'll do good.
The other reviews say he doesn't give great feedback which I do agree with for the weekly assignments but for the papers I think he did a good job with them. Honestly just attend the weekly sessions, read the textbook and go through his module videos. He is always there to help and is so caring! He is picky about APA format though so beware.
Weekly papers, two midterm papers, and then a final exam. He's alright as far as professors go but he takes FOREVER to grade stuff. Gave us an extension on our second midterm cause we didn't have our other midterm grade/feedback back. Is a pretty hard marker, be prepared and read instructions VERY carefully!
Amazing professor. He marks fairly and quickly. I had no problems with him. He is funny, entertaining, makes research fun. There are group assignments every week. They are relatively straightforward, just a couple of questions, so if you hate group work, it's not bad at all.
Sean was a great prof! Granted, he does take a long time grading major assignments, but I find the feedbacks to be unnecessary in regards to completing your other assignments. No tests at all which was awesome. Weekly group works and a final research presentation. Fair grader.
Really easy marker. Sometimes his instructions for assignments can be a little unclear, so ask if you need help because he will help you. Sweet guy all around. Also free textbook 10/10
Sean is a very caring and kind professor. Wants students to do well, and he always makes time to help students. Replies to emails super quick. Great human! :)
If you pay attention to the lectures, you'll do really well in the class. Lots of small in-class group work but he is very helpful with the assignments and gives great feedback, which helps with the presentation that occurs. Always responds to emails and is frequently available during office hours. 10/10 recommend this prof.
Sean is such a great professor! Attendance is not mandatory, however I suggest going because a) he explains things very well, and b) he is funny, easy to follow, and relatable (he plays Call of Duty lol). His tests are very reasonable, so as long as you have an understanding of the textbook terms, you'll be fine.
The professor has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it pays off. Lectures complement the free textbook well. For study prep, ChatGPT and Unstuck ai were super helpful alongside going to class and doing the work.
Overall if you studied you would be fine but there are honestly other better profs for an extra credit class. Final is 120 questions and had 4 midterms in total every two weeks.
He is very nice and understanding. Makes you want to take the course because he loves what he teaches. Recommend taking his classes
Awesome lectures! Dr Rogers makes it really fun and easy to learn psychology.
As someone who hates psych, he made the class super fun and enjoyable. He also gave us weekly mini group assignments, which definitely helped me have my grade boosted - and also helped me make friends. If you like psych and want to major in it I would recommend his class!
Dr. Rogers is a great professor and is very knowledgeable of the field of psychology. On top of that his lectures are amazing and he has great humor. 10/10 prof
You need to read the textbook as he will test concepts he doesn't cover in class. He's not monotone, making it easy to pay attention but he is a bit of a yapper that gets off track causing the class to be behind sometimes. Has weekly group projects that are easy grade boosters but REQUIRE attendance. Great prof though!
taking his 405 - insight and counselling seminar and it is a great class, Dr. Rogers is extremely well versed in the treatment and counselling field and brings in great experience and knowledge intot he seminar. absolutely reccomend this class if you are looking to take a 405 class.
Sean was great. There are weekly group assignments on Wednesdays so attendance is mandatory on those days. He was super helpful, gave great feedback, and was very accessible outside of class. Although this was a 8 am, he made it as enjoyable as possible.
I loved Dr. Rogers' class, even though I found the course to be intimidating; however, Dr. Rogers was very supportive and caring. There were weekly in-class group assignments, a presentation and a cumulative final exam. The final exam was taken only from broad concepts. Would definitely recommend taking this course with only him to others.
