Worth it, gives a lot of cigarette breaks on night classes and gets a little frustrated when talking about sex. Overall a nice guy.

The hardest introduction to Psych teacher, but also the most interesting. Claims to be like a Psychic. Had a student cut a newspaper Article in half and then read the second half. Weird.

Sean is awesome, he will pass you no matter what, even if you don't try you can get a C in his class, plus he is down to earth an tells it like it is.

If you go to class, you'll pass. Lets you know exactly what is on each test. Not too personable, but the class was interesting.

As long as you go to class and take notes you can pass. The exams were hard but not too unreasonable. He tells you exactly what the essay questions are and so it's very predictable

If you go to class you will pass the class. Very down to earth and seems opened minded about things. Easy to listen too. Can go on about things but makes it easy for you to understand.

He is one of the best teachers NMC has to offer. If you are interested in the subject, you will succeed. And save your money...there's really no reason to buy the book! You won't regret it!

I loved this class. Sean is a great prof, he really knows what he is talking about. I highly suugest taking his class. Test are only slightly tough, but if you go to calss and pay a little bit of attnetion you'll do fine!

this classwas a BLAST and a half, no joke. Sean mad it fun, which, in turn, made it easier to learn the material. If you show up to class and study your notes and read the boo,, you'll pass no problem. He never gives out homework, so just study and keep up with chapters.

Sean is a great teacher for whom I have tons of respect. He knows so much about what he talks about, and as long as you pay attention in class and review your notes every once in awhile, you'll be just fine! Sean is hilarious and a joy to listen to. DEFINITELY take his classes.

Sean always has a sense of humor and makes his class fun and interesting. You will be laughing along with everyone else as you study psych. Just keep up with your notes, and you will do fine.

Loved this class. Took in in the 2 week summer block. Learned a ton and looked forward to class. He is funny, helpful and very clear on expectations. I think it was hard for him to be in class at 8 am...but, that goes for many folks. Just a doll! Take him if you are lucky

Wow another outstanding teacher! He puts his own experience into his lessons. The stories are great and the way he gives the information to you your brain really soaks it up. Loved the class!

Very entertaining professor! Changed my whole view of life, you will never feel sleepy in his class. No Homework class! Show up and write stuff down, and you'll do well.

Really good about giving breaks. You have no homework except to go over notes! As long as you take good notes in class, you should do well!

One of my favorite professors! Very entertaining and class was never dull. People who complain about things being on the exams that weren't covered in class need to read the textbook. He does, after all, give students a syllabus that clearly indicates the chapters that need to be read for each exam. Take good notes and READ THE TEXTBOOK!

Awesome teacher, really knows his material. I loved listening to him talk. He presents the information in an interesting, and helpful manner. I didn't use the textbook once. All you have to do is take the notes and study the notes. He doesn't care about attendance and there is no homework. I got a 4.0 and you can too!!

The best three hour lecture I've ever had. His unbiased approach allows you to learn every aspect and psychological point of view equally. No homework! Just basic notes. If you are a good note taker you will do well. Very funny, and kinda cute. He really loves what he does and it shows. I don't believe in psychology but I learned it well from him.

As American as Tom Selleck in Mr. Baseball. Makes PSY 101 & 211 the most engaging, interesting, and fun courses since the turn of the century.

Day In and Day Out Sean Ruane gives the class vital lectures on psychology. Listening to him will make your brain say "I knew that, but I was unaware of it" pretty weird but true.

Ruane is awesome, if you don't mind listening to someone lecture for 3 straight hours and don't care much for class interaction. That being said, he is a very fun teacher and knows what he's talking about. Make sure you actually read the textbook, you WILL be tested on it!!!

I took Ruane for Developmental Psychology and Intro to Psychology and am disappointed that I can no longer take more of his classes. I enjoyed the sitting there and taking notes, little to no homework, and if you actually interact with the class and take notes and follow the handouts for the tests, you shouldn' have any problems passing the tests.

Tremendously skillful speaker; gave extraordinarily high-quality lectures of several hours for this accelerated-speed Summer course-- then turned around and did the same every afternoon for a different section. Gifted; even-handed with different schools of psychological thought; clear-spoken and charismatic without detracting from material: SUPERB

Awesome teacher. Really humorous and engaging in his lectures, and really enjoys to teach. I never studied the book once, I soley used my notes that I took in class and the worst grade I got was an 86%. I strongly recommend you take a class with Sean.

It was a fun class. He reminds me of Dennis Leary.

Funniest professor I have ever had! Explains things in a way that makes you laugh and understand it in a new light! Most of his classes are just lectures with a few in class assignments and a final group project. Overall, he is awesome and I recommend him to everyone1

Sean is awesome. I have had him for three psychology classes and the only problem i have is that i have now taken all the classes he teaches! He is animated, doesn't give homework, passionate, and very interesting. He gives handouts that tell you EXACTLY whats on the test so if you fail it's your own fault. Awesome guy, highly recommended.

He loves to teach and brings the material into a whole new light. Not only do you understand the material, you absorb it he relates it to everyday life and you remember it. He is the best professor I've had so far and I'm going to take as many of his classes as I can. He is so funny if you are going to NMC and have to take a psych class GET HIM!!!!

Funny guy. keeps the class interesting and engaging. Exams aren't too hard, if you study and read the material. Classes are basically all lectures, so there's a lot of note taking involved. One group project,a few class hand outs and that's it.

Best professor I've ever had. Not only does he love to teach, he genuinely cares about hhis students and does his best to not only make sure you understand the material, but also does his best to teach life lessons right along with it. Get him for your psych prof you won't regret it though be warned he may inspire a love of psychology in you!

I took Ruane for both Intro to Psych and Developmental Psychology. The classes are in a lecture format, which I usually don't care for, but he makes it fun. He is a funny and intelligent person, the exams are pretty challenging but he usually bumps up your grades at the end of the semester to the higher percentile. Highly recommend him!

Lectures every class period, but he makes it really interesting & fun. Funny guy, makes relevant jokes. Really need to take good notes for his tests-they can be a little difficult. This is the second class I've taken w/ Sean-- great prof! No homework. Just lectures, sometimes shows boring movies, and gives study guides for exams. There are always short answer Q's but he usually tells you one, if not both, of what they are AND how he wants them answered. Pay attention and you'll pass easily.

Sean was really fun and interesting. He makes sure to give you clear examples. He is kind of scatter brained and sometimes does not cover everything that is on the exams, but overall an awesome teacher!

I LOVED him. He is a very straight to the point kind of guy. He gives lectures almost daily but somehow manages to keep them VERY interesting. He's very informational. His class will blow your mind. His tests are kind of hard, mainly because the questions are worded funny. But he drops your lowest score. Take the time to take notes, it helps a lot!

Sean is a great professor. He is easy to talk to and fun to learn from. he does a great job at connecting ideas with the real world. Although Sean lectures every class it he is great at keeping u interested. Sometimes he talks really fast but if you ask him to repeat the statement or question he is very patient and helpful!

If you apply your learning to your life experiences this class will really pop for you. If you dont attend you will fail, his lectures are the test. He is a very fair grader and really wants the material to impact your thinking. He talks fast, so you better keep up or record his lectures. I had to type in order to keep pace.

Great lectures, pay attention and take notes if you want to do good on the tests. Tests are only based on lectures (I never read the book and still got a good grade because I went to every class).

Sean Ruane gives lectures that really outline what notes he wants you to take. If you take notes during lectures you WILL pass the tests. No makeup tests allowed, unless you're willing to take a lower grade. He isn't boring but lectures a lot. Overall, his developmental psych class was great.

Easy class. Quizzes can be taken twice so you can get an A. He provides extra credit three times and they are easy to do. We have meetings once a week. I would recommend going to them because he helps with the answers and is honestly a good guy. He will connect the chapters to life.

Professor Ruane's online class was the perfect format for me. He laid out all of the course material so students could move forward if they wanted to. The work-level is very low stress and attainable as long as you make time to read the textbook. There were only 5 homework assignments, which were simple and beneficial. Loved Sean's class.
