a wonderful teacher, ask her for help...and u'll do great.
class was boring, but pretty easy, seema is funny and is helpful
Great teacher, willing to help
She's quiet and reserved, but very helpful if you just ask questions. She really wants her students to succeed. The tests are fair and she lets you know how to study for them. She gives extra credit to make up for bad scores. I had to study a lot for an A, but I learned a lot and enjoyed the class.
I took her online Nutrition class, and she was awful, her tests had little to do with other class work, so study hard, and she is very hard to work with, not understanding, she didn't seem to care how you did in the class. This class is a little harder than you think.... However, I don't remember anything from it...
fast,a lot of extra point, just study the notes b4 the exam is ok !!!!!
excellent teacher.
Seema is a great professor. She has a lot of knowledge about biology and makes sure everyone in her class succeeds. Class if fast paced, so be ready to study hard and learn a lot! Would definately take another class from her again.

took nutrition class online and was disappointed. Its too fast paced so you dont learn as much as you could. Lots of reading, homework every week, discussions everyday. Tests are hard and there is one project due at the end of class.
Online nutrition class is one of the easiest I've ever taken; weekly homeworks take 15 minutes or so to complete, tests are very easy, final project took approx. 3 hours to complete.
Seema is great. If you just want to pass, this class is easy. If you really want to learn about nutrition, you have to put a good deal of time in. Either way, I would recommend taking Bio 130 from Seema.
Good class, very interesting material. Not the easiest, but would recommend it. Just need to keep up with the reading and the assignments. Diet analysis was a good project. Would recommend the class as an online class (don't know how she's lectures).
I took this class online, so i don't know how she is in person. But she didn't help at all and she came across kind of rude. It was probably due to teaching so many classes at once. Didn't help me at all when I had emailed her questions.
This teacher is the least helpful teacher I've ever dealt with. She won't answer questions at all. I took her online, and when things go wrong (as they tend to do at times online) she is nowhere to be found. Besides the tests, the class is easy. I would recommend her, but don't expect much out of her.

I took the class online. The teacher was mostly unresponsive. She did not participate in online discussions. The worst was when a test stopped working and she was out of town. Her notes were full of typos. Overall, a disappointing showing.
Nutrition Online - EASY A but can be time consuming. READ the chapters BEFORE taking the tests, turn is your weekly homework and participate in the discussions and you will be fine. This is a very self-directed class but the expectations are clear and easy to follow. Seema is fair and you can learn a lot if YOU want to. Easy extra credit available.
The online class is not hard, though as time consuming as any class that you would take on campus. Professor seemed a bit overwhelmed (there were almost 80 students just in our class), but a very easy grader.
This is the worst class I took because SHE gives you 1 hr to answer 50 questions that reqired you to read and think before checking. Not enough time given. Homework and other assignmnts are pretty understandable. The class is boring you don't learn much unless you teach yourself. It looks like she only teaches for the money not for joy.
Good class online. Really good textbook. If the assignments are done and chapters read the class is not difficult to leave with an A. Fair grader, not difficult assignments.
I took her class online and you do a 5 question HW assignment every week, 4 tests, 1 every few weeks and no final but a diet analysis project. The tests are very hard and you get 60min for 50 multiple choice T/F questions. I have failed every test so far so that is the hardest part. She doesnt really participate in the discussions either.
I just finished taking NUTR130 online. This teacher relies heavily on the textbook. There were 4 exams, 5 hw's, 3 discussions, & a diet analysis "final". Take the self study quizzes b/c they contain the question that will be on the exams (all based on the text). All of the hw's were due the same day, don't wait til last minute it's too much work.
I had Seema in Fall quarter of 09. I found this class to be incredibly easy, though possibly due to that I've taken higher level biology. Nonetheless, she goes out of her way to help her students and give mass extra credit. I went to class everyday because I found it interesting. You would have to TRY to get a bad grade.
This teacher was extremely generous with grading. I missed a few assignments and she let me do them later and gave me FULL credit. One thing I would warn about, the syllabus is ambiguous sometimes. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Side note: I took this class before and got a D-, I think I'm going to get an A- with her. She's fantastic.
Provided ample information about every subject listed in the syllabus at the beginning of the year. Gave us plenty of review time before each test and was willing to teach the lessons how the students wanted to be taught. Lots of chances to get easy points by just attending.
Going to class is mandatory because she has in class quizzes and assignments. If you miss them, you can make it up, however she takes half of the points off. She prints out her lectures in a packet so it's extremely helpful. The class is ridiculously easy, that is if you show up to class almost every day. You really do HAVE try to get a bad grade.
Read the textbook assignments (all of them). Most weekly homework assignments are very short. If you are really thorough entering the data for the diet analysis, you will have a much easier time with the analysis. Do the extra credit early for a cushion. The online exams are thorough. Do not expect to breeze through these! Seema is a great ONLINE teacher!
She is a really does a good job making sure everyone is doing well and gives out a lot of extra assignments to make sure you get the points you need. She prepares you well for her tests. She also really knows her stuff well. I recommend taking her.
Terrible prof, I would not recommend her at all. I received an A in her class, but she was very unhelpful when I had questions and there were several times on quizzes where I gave the correct answer per the text book almost word for word and she marked it as incorrect. I questioned this and she wouldn't even give me an explanation.
Super nice, fun labs, tells you what to know so you are clear for what to study on tests. I would definitely take another class from her! Test 2 is the hardest! study your labs and enzymes!
Professional, Organized, and Intellectual. I am taking Microbio 260 this quarter, and she is so kind and caring. I hated biology since highschool, but this class was the reason I started to love biology! Especially labs are the most fun part. Her exam 2 is the hardest! Just be aware and study from the beginning!
Very good professor, she's very clear about what she wants the students to study and make note of. She's receptive to student opinions on how to study for exams as a class.
This class was really good. There are intresting labs. she is really nice and helps students to get an A. Exams are not easy but she gives extra credits and reviews before each exam. That was the first class that I studied hard WITHOUT any stress. You will enjoy studying Microbiology with Ms. Jejurikar :)
I wish there were MORE professors like Seema! I took this class online and reading is mandetory to learn but she was always QUICK to respond, gave extra credit, was very nice when you had questions and clear! I didnt get the grade i wanted, subject itself was still a bit difficult but the professor wasnt
Seema makes a hard class easy. She goes far to help you and gives extra credit. Her teaching style is the top I have seen. Stuff that is confusing in lecture is done in lab. Hardest test was an extension of general BIO. Tests are not easy, but keep in mind it's a 200 level science class.
She is a great teacher! Very understanding and helps you succeed and get good grades. As long as you study for tests, you will do good. She doesn't take attendance but if you miss class, you can't make up a lab. which is pretty much almost everyday. I'd take her again no question.
Seema is great! She gives a bunch of extra credit and goes over exactly what she wants you to study for the tests. You can't miss labs, but she makes them easy. Even difficult labs, she goes over everything. Lab notebooks are simple. The subject itself is fascinating, and she's thorough and helpful. Show up, turn everything in, and you'll get an A.
WORST. TEACHER. EVER. If you ever take exam 3 online, BEWARE. 2 quarters in a ROW she messed up the test (for me, she used 15 questions from chapters we hadn't covered, and for my friend who took it this quarter, she gave a test with chapters 4, 5 and 6 when it was supposed to be on 7, 8 and 9). She also seemed annoyed when I would ask questions.
Seema was very helpful and kind. I took it during the summer, and I felt that it was pretty relaxed. You need to show up and do all the labs in order to get a good grade.I didn't have to study too much for the exams, and ended up with A- test grade overall, and A in the class. I am taking Seema for nutrition in the summer, hope it is the same!
I took both microbiology and nutrition with Seema, and both classes were straightfoward and completely within reach to get A if you did you work. She tells you exactly what you need to know, and what she expects from you as a student. I would highly recommend Seema, she is very understanding, interesting, and timely.
she is really nice n very good teacher. easy to get good score in exam.
She is a great teacher. She is very helpful and encouraging. If you study and show up in the class you will get A in her class. I enjoy being in her classes.
2nd class I've had with Seema and I love how she structures her class and grades. Do the work, get an A. It's that simple.
I love this teacher. Her test are straight forward. She literally tells you whats on the test.Great at replying back to e-mails & gives her cell number so you can text her. 5 test,1 unknown lab and about 8-10 labs. No cumulative final. 5th test is the final, which consists of last chapters that are covered. One of the best teachers at B.C
Seema is a great professor, she makes the class easier and a lot more chill. The material isn't easy, but she simplifies it and makes it understandable. Overall pretty chill class for a science class, consists of 4 exams, case studies, 1 unknown lab, and weekly labs. Also she's a relatively easier grader which again makes it pretty chill.
Took this course online. The material is tough and even though a human biology prereq is not required, you should consider taking some more human bio first. This basically a work on your own online class. Instructor did not engage much, but always graded and provided feedback promptly. Plus gave EXC
She is really nice and chill, and she puts the powerpoints online so thats really helpfull. I recommend her.
Most of the info is on the powerpoint. She's a good, simple teacher. Will clarify the textbook chapters in class, so come to class.
She's a great teacher, fairly simple class if you go to class. All the assignments and handouts really help you understand the info. Open to email, responds within good time, and lets you text her! I'd take her again!
The class is great. teacher is very nice to everyone. No homework but classwork is available. Instructor does help you if needed. Test is not that hard and it is fun as you will find new things about nutrition.
I loved Seema! She is an excellent professor who is passionate about Global Health, very well organized and overall delight to have. It's an extraordinary class, and you will be fascinated by what you learn. I highly recommend taking her class!!
Seema makes Microbiology simple! Way easier than Bio 160 and A&P in my opinion. You don't have to study as much. She prepares you so well for the labs and exams. Most assignments are online, some are in class, and she drops 2 of your lowest. She seems to get irritated easily though so don't give her a hard time. Don't buy the textbook!!
I took her global health class and it was one of the best classes ive ever taken. Her lectures were very engaging and the work was very applicable to the tests. Overall if you want to actually learn something this is a great teacher to have.
She is great! She is upfront about what is expected, she is helpful when you need it, her lectures are posted online, so if you miss class due to being ill or something, you don't miss everything. Her test are straight forward and labs are very helpful. I highly recommend taking her!
Worst online professor ever. Didn't help at all, was unclear on expectations. Never responded to emails.
Seema transferred the love of Microbiology to me. She supplements curriculum with social and thought provoking content as it regards microbiology. She introduces pertinent issues going on in the world. My one criticism is that It seems silly to have to memorize the names of microbes when our current technology identifies them in the millions.
Really dissapointed with this teacher, all of her quizzes and exams are a minute per question and we get lots of those, 10 questions for really hard quizzes and you only get 10 min, or 75 minutes for an exam and you get 75 questions, this made me never be able to complete my tests because no one knows everything off the top of their head. Avoid
Seema is awesome. 10/10 would recommend.
Not an easy class, but no stress class. Do not skip the class and do not skip review for test it was helpful. Two low scores on quizzes are drop. Good class, I learned a lot and will recommend it.
Lots of reading between the required textbook and novel. Can be a bit overwhelming if you do not stay on top of it. Relatively easy grader. Excellent course material, though. Worth the time. A bit difficult to get a hold of for questions. Would not answer email for days until reminded or the assignment was past due. I would take her ON CAMPUS ONLY.
This entire course was graded solely on a quiz each week, a few exams and a few papers. It was pretty easy and she gave feedback! It was a good class since I just wanted the credit; I easily got an A! The quizzes and exams based solely on the online powerpoints she posts. I reccomend.
What i like about Seema is her powerpoint are EXACTLY on the exams, and in super easy question format. I retook this class, first i took it with Diana which she kicked my butt on, but Seema has the EASIEST EXAMS!!! Just pay attention ALWAYS and read the textbook. you will pass.
Online class, summer qtr. Very condensed, works if you need to fit into your schedule. Clear criteria for grades based on 10 quizzes (10 pts each) and 4 exams (100 pts each). Read text, review slides and outline, and you will be prepared for tesst. Professor is very respectful and open to reviewing any questions about grading.
Seema was one of my favorite teachers. I put off microbiology because i was so nervous for it. Not only did she help me to fall in love with it, but i also have decided to double major in it. Seema was very clear with her lectures and helpful. Her exams and assignments are a mixture of different things, so everyone can find what works for them!!
Seema is a sweet lady and a very easygoing and straightforward professor. Honestly one of the easiest classes I've ever taken- just one 10 question online quiz per week, and some worksheets to do during class, plus an online test every 2-3 weeks. Lectures are on the dry side as she just reads off of powerpoint, but attendance isn't mandatory.
Such an easy and interesting class. M & W are lecture days, no attendance. F is a case study that you turn in for points and participation, don't skip Fridays. Weekly quizzes + in-class case study and four tests entire quarter. Easy A. extra credit at the end of the quarter for doing the evaluation. You'll get 100% on everything with minimal effort
Seema is a really great teacher. Micro is a tough course so you will have to work for it. There are multiple labs a week as well as a lab final which was surprisingly straight forward. The final was not cumulative. Seema really cared about her students and would check in to gauge how everyone felt regarding the tests.
Literally two assignments a week, best biology class ever lol.
To put it simply, you read a chapter every week, take a 10 questioned quiz and complete 1 assignment that takes less than an hour. I personally didn't use the textbook but it is required to be bought along with a program that is used for a large project but most of it is pretty simple and straightforward. EASY A.
Seema is very organized, sets clear expectations & gives good feedback via email. Weekly homework and quiz, 4 case studies, 4 exams, and one final research paper that is given to you at the beginning of the course. All modules are open from the start, so it is perfect if you like to work ahead.
Weekly homework and reading quiz, 4 case studies (5 questions, answer in a few sentences), 4 exams, and a research project (pick from a list, Nature's Notebook was super easy). From my experience, if you turn in the assignment and follow the instructions, you will get 100% each time. Quizzes/exams are all MC and can be hard if you don't read. EasyA
Great teacher! handed in a couple assignments late due to personal reasons, she was super understanding and let me hand in via email anyways. Just do all the hw and quiz and you will be fine! Quizzes and exams are all based on quizlet. Easy A.
Dr. Jejurikar is a wonderful professor. She is very accessible and responds in a timely manner, has clear expectations, and doesn't overwhelm you with work. She is very respectful and willing to work with you and address issues that may arise. I would definitely take another course from her in the future.
Seems lays out all the assign work online but her quizzes are hard and she does not help with the class assignments. There are no lecture videos and she does not do much since all the quizzes and tests and multiple choice and grades are set after you finish a test. I always get nervous before an exam because I dont know what I am studying for.
Seema does not help at all. She may have recorded lectures, however they do not relate to the content in her tests/quizzes. All of it comes from the textbook. Since it is COVID, the book comes with the class. Since Seemas lectures dont help you get all your information from the book, so get ready to read a lot!
Professor Seema did not provide any lecture videos or any tools to help us with the assignments. All she does is tell us what is assign the week and put the grades in. I've studied the textbooks but they do not help with what is on the quiz and exams. This class was extremely difficult and I managed to pass with the resources online. Horrible class
Horrible teacher. Do not take. Her recorded lectures are of her reading the textbook which is a complete waste of time. I don't wanna watch someone read the textbook when I can read the textbook myself. She also doesn't respond to emails and she doesn't provide any other way to contact her. Online resources are the only reason I have an A+.
Super nice and caring! always willing to help outside of class, also very accommodating to your schedule. there were a few times where my schedule did not match for tests and she was willing to extend the time or open on another day for me. Definitely would recommend taking her!
Make sure to put in the work for this class. It wasn't crazy hard like A&P though, exams are ALL MC (every point counts). Don't bother watching the lectures rather do the assignments and follow the study guides (with the powerpoints). I skimmed the chapters and used other resources as well. The disease project was straightforward and do the EC!!!
Several quizzes, lab quizzes, online labs, smartbook assignments, and 4 multiple choice exams that require locked down browser (camera/mic not required). The infectious disease project was fun and easy. She had recorded lectures but I preferred others that I found on YouTube. The course load is manageable and very organized. Only 1 EC opportunity.
One of my best professors
I liked how they structured the class. There is a good amount of quizzes based on the chapters, so be aware of that. The one project that she had the class do was also very interesting.
In this class, you'll have to read a chapter of the textbook every week, paired with a multiple-choice quiz. The quizzes and exams are all multiple-choice. Be prepared to dedicate some time to note-taking and reading each week, and you'll be just fine.
Was super understanding and granted extensions always no matter the reason. At the end of the quarter, she literally just opened every assignment so people could complete them. 2 extra credit opportunities, you literally just have to do an evaluation or survey. Super easy class, homework takes like max 45 minutes-1 hour per week.
Class is easy enough, but the professor can be curt, anal, and very literal. Overall fine.
Prof Jejurikar is really kind and always willing to help students via email and office hours. But, her class is completely textbook based and her lectures and slides are just very vague bullet points off the textbook. The exam questions are very specific off the textbook (dates, statistics, etc.). Extra credit and easy project helps grade.
Take notes, focus on details. The quizzes are easy-ish, the exams are a bit tougher for the amount of detailed info you need to know. All multiple-choice. I love that she gives assignments that have you think, plus a project that has you learn how to be a scientist. A class every student should have to take, the environment concerns us all.
This teacher was amazing! If you are interested in learning more about human disease and especially are going into healthcare, please take this! She is also super understanding and as long as you do the work, you can definitely get a good grade.
She is so incredible! Love how clear the course work is and had a lot of opportunities for you to explore things you wanted.
Dr. Jejurikar definitely cares about her students, and the class was well structured. Lots of extra credit from survey/projects. Only critique were that the lectures weren't great for the online class, but the assigned readings were reasonable and the exams weren't bad at all. If you're taking this class, do the READINGS.
this class covers a lot of interesting content and is good if you are looking to go into the medical field. she doesn't offer much support and its basically a self study class. test and quizzes are very hard with obscure questions.
Super easy class. With Prof. Jejurikar, there will be a quiz and Smartbook every week, along with 3 exams and a citizen science project you need to do by the end of the quarter. Quizzes and exams are easy. Very quiz and test heavy, however, you should easily be able to get an A in her class, IF you put in the effort to complete all of the quizzes.
Weekly 10-question quizzes, usually took me about 15 minutes, all questions were from the textbook. 4 exams and the questions were just copied from the quizzes most of the time. Helpful when I talked to her during office hours. You'll be fine if you skim the textbook
