This professor clearly states on the first day of class that it is impossible to not have an A in his class. This is accurate. Homework and quizzes are done online. Homework is impossible to not get 100% and you have unlimited attempts. Same for quizzes. He will take the highest score for the quiz grade. He is a great teacher and really cares.
Segla is a super easy and funny professor! He gives you unlimited chances to get problems right on homework and quizzes, it's impossible to get less than a 100%. He does take attendance for participation. And he also walks you through problems to complete in class for participation. But overall super easy class to get an A in.
Classmates and I did not understand him very well. Does not give good feedback. However, he is caring and funny. Good if you like to be self taught.
Good if you like being self taught. He's not very clear on his lectures or instructions. But he's a funny guy.
His lectures are a bit confusing, he will take a problem similar to the homework and spend the whole time explaining it. He's really funny and chill. It's not possible to fail, you have unlimited attempts for homework and quizzes. Just show up because he takes attendance and you get points for showing up.
The course was easy. There are weekly quizzes and homework assignments, but you have unlimited attempts. There are 3 big worksheets that are the bulk of your grade. Easy class, easy A.
I dislike him very much as a person, he was very rude, although I don't think he meant to be. However, the class is easy. Homework and quizzes all online with unlimited attempts and participation points each week for showing up to class. The only place you can lose points is the worksheets which he will let you fix. Easy A.
I disliked Mr. Kossivi as a teacher. Every time I showed up to class, he took 30 minutes to take role and if you weren't there for some reason, he made you explain it to the class. Honestly, I was just so annoyed by him every class because he never taught anything and he was rude. This class is such an easy A if you just show up and do your HW.
TURN BACK. This professor is the worst. Got an A in the class but it was by far the WORST class I have taken. Hard to understand (doesn't speak English). Very confusing.
Not a good teacher at all. He is very inappropriate and doesn't teacher what is on the homework. I felt uncomfortable in his class and I would highly recommend not taking this teacher.
This class is an intro to Excel worksheet not even math. I mean the teacher is chill but very confusing and his writing sucks. But hey, easy class
He's difficult to understand and you can hardly read his writing but he's so funny and his class is SO easy. You get unlimited tries on homework and quiz submission, so its impossible to not receive an A in the class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! Does not speak fluent English, very confusing, and rude to students. It is an easy class with an easy A as long as you show up and do work, but not worth the stress.
His lectures are hard to follow and his words are hard to catch because he has a thick accent and he speaks too quickly. The workload isn't heavy, but some of the excel quizzes have equations that are hard to find. As for attendance, you can do your work from home and still have an A, but you'll lose participation points(only 1 point a wk).
Segla is a hilarious guy with a passion for math. He does have a thick accent, but it isn't impossible to understand him. He is extremely knowledgeable and often gives students the choice to teach! I would 100% recommend him.
He is super good!! Very easy class, and very easy A.
Segla has a passion for teaching math, he is funny and he cares about his students!
He was one of the best math teachers I've ever gotten. He actually helped me understand math and he is super funny! He has an accent which makes it hard to understand sometimes but he makes sure you get the material. He really does try and help each student get an A.
Put half an ounce of effort into this class and you'll get an A. Segla is fine, not much effort from his side either but he does a lot of the worksheet portions in class so you can just half follow along and save yourself a lot of time. Overall, unless you're incredibly math challenged, you'll be fine in this class.
This professor is not a good one at all. He yells at the class quite frequently and does not answer questions. He tell you to figure it out and then marks you off on your participation for asking a question. Do not take this professor if you can.
Heed my warning: do NOT take this professor!! While passing this class was very easy for just showing up, it was an absolute dread to take. Professor Kossivi does not speak English well and will yell at you that he will "cut your foot" if you do something he does not like. He has been corrected on his work multiple times by the class. Awful class.
Segla is the funniest professor I have ever had. Whenever you don't understand something in the class. raise your hand and he will personally show you how to do it. Participation is based on you showing up to class and doing classwork, which is really easy. As long as you show up and do your work you will pass. Very easy A.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Extremely disrespectful and rude. I left his class crying (and so did other people in the class). He does not answer questions and he thinks of himself very highly. I wish I would have known about this site before starting college. IF YOU CAN GET OUT OF HIS CLASS DO IT. Only good thing was the easy A
Homework is worth very little of your grade. Make sure you show up for class because he basically does everything for you. He has the best sense of humor and I loved coming to class. The final project is worth 45% of your grade so don't slack off on that (grades easy). If you are confused, ask. He is very helpful. Class is an easy A if you show up.
Dr. Kossivi is a very nice guy. His class isnt very tough. Its an easy A if you give a little effort But he does have an accent thats hard to get used to a difficult to understand at times. Hes not the best at explaining things either. Aside from that this class was fine. Hes a funny guy and likes to interact with the students.
Professor Kossivi has a very heavy accent but he is a great professor. He does all the assignment with you in class so that those who come to class are rewarded. If you go to class and participate and stay caught up you will get an A without a doubt. Use Microsoft Excel to make your life easier (Don't try google sheets).
I have only been in his class for 2 weeks and it is awful. He is never clear on what he is teaching. He has no agenda for running his class. He also expects you to already know how to do all of the material before the class starts. Do not take his class.
This professor was rude, did not speak english well, and his lectures has more to do with making students feel bad than actual math. However, if all you care about is an easy A, he does do the quizzes and worksheets in class with the students, but if he calls on you and you don't know the answer, buckle up and get ready to be ridiculed.
Kossivi's class is the easiest math class you'll ever take. Make sure you show up to class because every assignment, including quizzes, we did as a class. Other than that, he's a cool dude. He comes off as rude but that's because some student's don't pay attention when he calls on them and he has a strange sense of humor. Easy A. Chill professor.
He does roll call almost every class and helps you with projects during class one time a week. Make sure to be there when he helps the class other wise its very difficult on your own. Overall its an easy A, he gives you time in class for projects at the end.
One word... Terrible
This professor is straight terrible. He expects you to teach yourself math and does not lecture. He will tell you to seek tutoring before coming to him. Will close homework a few days before quizzes, so you can not get practice in before quizzes. By far the worst professor I have ever had, and this is my third year of college.
This professor cares about his students' success, as long as you do all the homework and show up to class for your participation you will pass. He helps with the major assignments, there is much more independence for figuring out where to apply what he taught, it is college after all. He has an accent but if you ask him to repeat he will.
Segla gets a bad rap because he's not real filtered. I really enjoyed him and his class, but I think a lot of people take his humor personally. Honestly the biggest thing was that if you care enough to show up to class and pay attention at least half the time, you'll do totally fine. There's plenty of resources from him, his TA, etc.
Prof. Kossivi came into our class after our last professor, who'd taught us nothing, was fired 3wks before finals. He's very grade-heavy and if you don't show up, you won't pass - but he's caring, and he managed to teach us EVERYTHING we needed in THREE WEEKS. He is very nice and genuine and, though he has an accent, he is not hard to understand.
Worst professor I've ever had. Makes fun of people in class for his own pleasure & makes fun of people for asking questions. Lectures are literally pointless bc his accent makes it impossible for you to understand what he is saying & doesn't even lecture on the right material. You basically have to show up to class but teach yourself.
No office hours. Not clear with instructions. Roll call takes 50% of the class.
This professor does not teach. He goes on rants that have nothing to do with the material. He also makes you feel stupid when asking questions on what to do.
This class was a nightmare. Segla tells pointless stories and takes half the class to do his attendance. He isn't willing to answer questions or give office hours. Beware of a strong accent that makes it difficult to understand. Overall, spent a lot of time in the math center getting things retaught to me. I DO NOT recommend this class.
Overall very hard to work with. It was difficult to follow along during lectures and the materials were not used properly. Seems like a nice guy, but would not take the course with him if I were to be given the option to do so.
He has a thick accent, making him hard to understand. Overall, hes not the best teacher Ill admit, but hes a funny guy who likes to joke around. He canceled class a couple time too.
He is the worst prof I've ever had. He doesn't teach and refuses to help students with individual questions. Spends the whole class trying to be funny but isn't. If you have even slight trouble with math do not take his class. You will struggle and he will not help you. I can't believe I had to pay to take his class, it was an absolute waste.
I have never struggled so much in a math class before. He barely taught and so many of us had no clue what was going on. If you don't come to class, don't expect to pass because he does the homework in class. Takes up 20-30 of class ranting about irrelevant things. Do NOT choose this professor. I've never gotten such a low grade in a math class.
The first 20-30 minutes of class he spent taking attendance and debating with kids whether they were here last class or not. His hand writing is horrible so none of us could understand his lectures. He forced kids in my class to talk about their religious beliefs. If you actually want to learn math DO NOT take this class!
You have to show up! He isnt very good at teaching. He is really smart and knows a lot though! You have to listen and pay attention all the time or you wont get it. See,Listen, then Do is what he will tell you. Need to have a bit of a tough skin he jokes a lot and sensitive people wouldnt feel good. He good listener but will never reply email
You have to show up. You have to listen. Will teach everything you need to know. A little hard to understand. Super sassy. You have to listen. You have to show up. You have to show youre trying. He is caring but doesnt like people who dont put in any effort.
He gets bad reviews and I was scared going into his class. He is a little intense at times and he's really sassy but I thought he was hilarious. His accent and bad handwriting make it a bit tricky, but the class itself is easy. Showing up to class is really important if you want to pass. He is a way better option than a lot of other professors.
Most math teachers get bad ratings on here but this professor actually made the class a lot easier. He knows what he's talking about and he is very interactive with the class. A lot of math teachers just stand at the front and bore you but he makes jokes and he shares a verse with us every day. Highly recommend this math professor!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! He does not know how to teach his students. Yes, he is funny at times but the lecture does not help any one. He expects you to already know the content and makes you feel dumb if you do not. He messes up a lot on his own problems, and his jokes are somewhat offensive. The sub taught better than him and helped us understand.
He is from a different country and English is his second language so he is very difficult to understand. He will pick on you and give you a hard time so if you have tough skin, you should be fine but it sucks when you're having a rough day and don't need that.
He is rude and rarely explains when you have a question. Most of the time he is making fun of his students. Strong accent so you cannot understand lectures and the TA care more about students than he does. He expect his students to be able to figure everything out on their own and I just simply don't recommend.
If you want to learn college algebra do not have this Professor as your teacher. He will have you take notes only to not be able to use them on quizzes and exams. Additionally, he does not teach the course material in a way students can understand mainly students who are not as good as math. This professor does not care about the students.
So funny, answered questions, easy class (MAT154).
Get ready for Chegg because he will not help you one bit. wanna ask a question DONT because he will make you feel dumb for asking. he is one or let's say the worst professor I've had. don't take his class if you're not prepared to teach yourself through every single chapter. Again he is one of the Worst, Degrading, Condescending professors at GCU.
He does not care about his students and does not help at all. He will make you feel dumb for asking questions and does not bother to explain his work either. He has a thick accent and his handwriting is awful, so understanding the class is extremely difficult. He also gives students an incredibly hard time for missing even if it's an emergency.
He definitely didnt care about his students. He sucks.
As long as you show up to class and do your work, you'll be fine. He genuinely wants his students to succeed, so ask questions! He's big on participation and expects his students to talk and show up to class.
His accent is SO thick, you can hardly understand him. He made fun of students on occasion and embarrassed a handful of them. He is HORRIBLE at teaching, very smart, just bad at teaching. He takes like 30 minutes to do attendance, and he will make you feel DUMB for ever asking a question. Worst professor Ive had!
I had him for MAT-154 and the content was not that difficult for me as I understood everything from having great teachers in the past, but if this is your first time taking a class like this I do not recommend him. He has a unique sense of humor and is not terrible at teaching, but there were many things I learned on my own. Many quizzes and exams.
I had him for MAT-261 and a class the previous semester. I did not mind having him again as I already knew how he was, but if this is your first class it takes time to get used to him. He is okay at explaining things, but I did a lot of learning on my own. You may want to consider switching out if you find math very difficult.
If you havent had him before you will not understand his mannerisms and what to expect each class. He rarely lectures and basically just tells you to work on homework. Personally I taught myself and wished a had the option for a different professor. I had to private forum him several times to correct grading.
He doesn't lecture, he takes attendance for 30 min, he can't use Zoom well and if you ask for a question, don't expect help. He'll spend 45 min working on the problem and then not be able to solve it. He'll tell you to come to office hours to get help, but it will take another hour for him to figure out the problem. Hope you like your textbook.
If you are looking for an easy pass this is not your class but if you are willing to put in the work he is an amazing teacher. He tells you exactly what is going to be on the test and goes over examples like it before a test. As long as you take notes and study the class is great! He shows every step to finish a problem, will also answer questions
Professor Segla goes fast but will slow down if you ask him to, he has a good sense of humor and is a fairly easy/ fair grader. HOWEVER, he does have an accent and will make fun of you if you make an extravagant mistake. At the end of the day, he is very kind and will help when needed.
Professor Segla goes fast but will slow down if you ask him to, he has a good sense of humor and is a fairly easy/ fair grader. However, sometimes when asking questions I would feel dumb for asking. He does have an accent and will make fun of you if you make an extravagant mistake. At the end of the day, he is very kind and will help when needed.
Professor Kossivi has been the most helpful professor I have ever met. He's lectures are fast pace HOWEVER!!! if you ask him to slow down and/or explain it to you for the fifth time HE WILL DO IT! I liked that he encourages you to ask questions regardless if it has already been asked or not. If you do not pass his class is on you, not him.
SK is a great professor. It may take a moment to work out how to understand his accent and unique style, but he's hilarious and passionate and his class is super fun. He loves teaching mathematics and wants you to succeed in his class. He also takes tons of class time to go over homework and answer questions. I'm gonna miss his class.
SK is a unique professor. You'll have a little trouble understanding him through his thick accent, and he teaches rather quickly. I had to teach myself most of the concepts in this class, because his teaching style didn't work for me. He gives you several opportunities to up your grade so take advantage!
SK is nice and funny, however he encourages students to make mistakes, but calls them slow, stupid, or makes fun of them when they are incorrect. Doesn't make me feel good, nor does it make me want to speak at all. I feel as though you teach yourself for the most part, but you sign a sheet in class for participation, so showing up is a must.
Do not take Dr. SK if you want to learn. He does not teach the materials. Class consists of doing the assignments and him answering questions. He spends the class doing random problems from the homework, but ends up doing them in a way more difficult way than the book shows and ends up confusing his students.
Segla if you reading this, you made diff eq enjoyable and the quizzes and exams were straightforward. Thanks for making life not as hard xoxo Gossip Girl
Dr. SK is very funny and super understanding, if you have issues on the homework he is more than happy to help. There was multiple times where the question answer was "wrong" and if you show him he gives you full credit. He teaches the material by working through students questions on the hw, if you complete hw before class you don't have to go.
Kossivi teaches by answering people's questions from the homework, and that's IT. If you finish your homework, attendance isn't required 2nd day of the week. His accent is hard to understand, and he calls people out to talk. He calls out people who are on the quiet side, and needs students to give him feedback. There are better professors out there
While Dr. SK is nice and cracks jokes in class, I spent most of every lecture working on the homework by myself and ignoring the lecture. I showed up for my participation points but taught myself the majority of the concepts required for calculus. While calc is already a horrible form of math, this class didn't make it lovable. He doesn't teach.
Mr.Kossivi is great and if you show you care and contribute to the class he will make sure you will keep your A. There are times he struggles with problems and gets off topic but his clear grading and practising test problems with the class makes calc possible. I had accelerated summer class so there was a LOT of homework.
This professor might be funny at times but he is awful at being compassionate with your grade. Grade is basically based upon tests and if you do bad on that then you're kinda screwed. He's not very clear when it comes to teaching and I feel like that is why I struggle in his class. You learn everything yourself through aleks.
He does not teach and makes the class hard. He is rude and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. I had to drop his class because I was getting no help and he does not teach the class.
I used to love this professor. However, he seems to have gone crazy. He screams at students, sends impolite emails, refuses to abide by school policies. et et et. Will sometimes say he hates speaking english and never bothered to learn it because he hates the us and english. its obvious this is true. would rather drop out than take him again
Kossivi is not here to help students succeed. He does not respond to emails and when he does, he gives a one-word response. He does not make it clear which day the exam is on and won't let you retake it if you miss it. His grading is unclear, and he does not help you to understand. Id recommended steering clear of this professor.
I went through many different emotions when being in SK's class. He took off points because I did not have "pretty" enough notes. He makes grading pretty unclear and it is obvious he does not know what we are learning on ALEKS. There would be over 100 math questions and he had no idea. Good person, but should not be teaching.
Dr. SK was the coolest professor ever. He was very fun and very loving towards his students. If you are in his class, he will love you if you engage in the conversation and try to answer the questions. Even if you are wrong he may give you extra credit for participating throughout the year. He definitely is one of my favorite professors.
He isn't clear about how to receive participation points. He'll tell you that you don't have to come to class if your homework is completed, but then proceeds to mark you off if you don't come to class. You have to teach yourself all of the class material through "Aleks". The class environment was very uncomfortable.
Segla doesn't really lecture, but he will explain how to do any problem that you give him. He gets kinda mad if the class isn't actively engaged though. The tests were super easy since they only included problems that were in the homework. If you want to get a good grade in this class, just do the homework and show up for the tests.
The class itself is all online work accessible at any time, so attendance is rather unnecessary. The professor was easy and had a sense of humor but his inconsistent rules and standards were annoying. He began the semester saying attendance was not required if the hw for the week was completed but would then give zeros and make up excuses for it.
Dr. K is an excellent professor. He is definitely a hard grader, and expects a lot from his students, as "real life" will be tough and hard. Dr K, lectures are okay, but you should come prepare by looking at the HW and ask him questions while in class. He very much cares for his students success, but It is mandatory to study for his tests.
Terrible professor. Avoid at all costs. Doesn't do anything in class, but makes attendance mandatory. He doesn't know how time works and will make assignments due at 1 am when everything he tells you will say it is due at 11:59 that day. He will move exam times with no notification and does not care about his students.
I have had professor Kossivi for Calculus 1,2,3 and Differential Equations. I have learned that Kossivi is very knowledgeable in what he teaches. He is very funny and does not have a filter. This does tend to offend students who are sensitive to certain subjects. Overall, I would recommend him for an easy A.
This professor was pretty cool. His accent can make him hard to understand, but he is really funny and loses his filter often. He spends all class asking students if they need help, so it's easy to understand the material once you get some practice in. I have found that the program you use (ALEKS) does most of the teaching and grading though...
If you show up and care about the class, you will get an A no matter what math level you are taking. Kossivi is hilarious and if you are confused about something he will help you. Trust me, take Kossivi, and it will be one of your most favorite/easiest classes if you show up and care.
Dude is hilarious. Decent prof. Says whatever he wants and isn't afraid to call people out so if you're easily offended or like to keep to yourself watch out for that. Will teach you how to do every homework assignment. He likes when people engage w/ him in class. He will answer your questions and cares whether or not you understand the concepts.
He is an amazing professor and really cares about his students. All math classes use online software to grade homework but he will extend homework if he has not covered all bases. I heard that a lot of people gave him a 1/5 to lower his rating so nobody would want him so that they could get his class easier so disregard his rating. He is the best.
This Professor was great. He would help anytime you have any questions and be very understanding. He also is hilarious, it's refreshing to have a teacher like Mr. Kossivi.
He is not open to Feeback on his teaching styles. His handwriting is not good.
Segla and his mannerisms are hilarious. He WILL change the course 4 student needs (eg: took away DQs when they were busywork; lowered homework assignment question count; called up students to teach). He teaches more than just Math but traditional values of respect and integrity and honesty. If we finished homework b4 class, we could skip. rlly good
Will generally make fun of questions asked. Teacher has a "facilitator" method of teaching as in does not lecture or teach unless asked specifically to. If good at learning online this class is for you. Strong accent that is hard to understand at first.
Dr. Kossivi wasn't a bad professor, he had a rule that if you got a 97 or above on the homework then he wouldn't make you go to class and would give full participation points. However, he had very inconsistent grading he would say we didn't need to go to class but then would count it against us if we listened to him.
Professor Kossivi was an awesome and hilarious professor and always instructed the course material and class in a way that made everyone engaged. If you did not understand a particular topic or lesson he made sure you understood it by helping you out one-on-one. Not to mention, attendance wasn't mandatory if you finished homework before class.
extremely funny but is not that good at teaching. However, in some situations it is not necessary to know everything as it does use Derivia
Really easy class, but just be ready to spend about 20 hours working on homework assignments, (maybe that's just me), professor doesn't teach a ton, however it's nearly impossible to not get 100s on the quizzes as he gives them open-note, as well as showing exactly what will be on the test.
You won't learn anything in this class bur if you get all your homework done before class starts then you don't have to come in for the week which is very convenient when you're taking many other classes. If you are good at math you'll be fine but if you aren't I would recommend a different professor.
He does not teach clearly and his notes are hard to read.
Dr. Kossivi is smart, but generally standoffish and does not know how to work aleks. He will change due dates / times and then tell us that we should have had the homework done early so its our fault that the due date changed and we weren't ready. He does not give clear instructions about anything, and will not respond well when challenged.
He is not a clear speaker/instructor. He goes on tangents a lot and shames students if you do not understand what he is teaching. This is something I have experienced multiple times throughout the spring semester and it genuinely makes me hate coming in. His "notes" are insanely hard to read and barely make any sense as is. I won't take his class.
If you want a professor that demotivates you and your fellow peers, I would recommend him. Kossivi knows the subject which is great, but he is just very rude, singles you out, not very clear on his due date and then blames it on you, notes are barely readable, makes you feel stupid, and he sometimes does not help anyone understand concepts.
Once you complete your assignments in advance, with above 90% on quizzes and 100% on homework for that week, message him that you have completed them. Then he'll give you full participation points, so you don't have to attend class that week. But as a reminder, he changes the due dates, so check the ALEKS due dates instead of the Halo calendar!
he is a nice guy and cares about his students but was not clear on rules for the class. said you could skip if you finished your homework but it was confusing randomly gave extra credit for showing up. did not go over expectations for the project. class is confusing but if you spend extra time asking him what he expects its fine
Dr. Kossivi is a professor teaching style is very confusing and hard to understand and he sometimes get an attitude when you don't understand something. For example t's like he catches an attitude every time you ask him to repeat the steps or to further explain the problem.
Really easy to get a good grade if you do the homework.
He does not teach the class and he is out-of-pocket, but his exams are super easy. There's no open note, but he allows Desmos and shows you the exam questions so you can study them.
Class as a whole was very easy. He let you take your quizzes online and exams in class. You were able to skip class if you got your homework finished for the week. However, him as a person is rude and stand-offish. He will make fun of you if you don't understand a concept and will say mean things to you in front of the class. He is not kind at all.
Professor Kossivi is not a bad option at all and really doesn't deserve the bad reviews he's gotten. The class is hard yeah, but that's just because it's calculus 3. If you get your weekly homework done then you don't need to come to class, he even took away the useless DQs. Great guy you may need to teach yourself some of the material.
Avoid taking this professor. Attendance isn't mandatory if you finish your homework before class, which can be nice. But I had to teach myself the whole semester. He is funny, but isn't willing to explain anything because he says that we should remember it from high school or that we should understand. He doesn't care to adjust ALEKS either.
He is super intelligent, yet he doenst explain things very well to those who struggle. If you ask a question he will make you feel dumb. He will also call you out in class, so be prepared. If you do all of the homework before class you dont have to go, so that is the one good thing about this class.
very hard to understand
Professor Kossivi has a unique teaching style, but can be unclear at times. Attend class, use the free textbook, and try tools like Unstuck AI to stay on top of the material. Overall, with effort, the class is manageable.
This professor was awful do not take. He makes fun of students for asking questions and is very rude. He makes it hard to review for tests by locking our study resources. The way he explains problems doesn't make sense and it's pretty much a self learn class. If you complete your homework you don't need to go to class is the only pro
If you are willing to learn on your own, you'll be fine. Homework/Exams are open to view, so you can work all exam problems before coming to the exam, so you have an idea of the problem variants you get. His lectures are sparse and can be hard to understand if you don't have some understanding of the material beforehand.
He is a DEI hire for sure. He literally doesn't know anything about differential equations. He couldn't pass the class himself. He has no standards though, and you are guaranteed to make an A. Therefore, all of the good reviews he has are from the students that didn't actually want to learn anything. I did, so I was out of luck.
Controls his students like a high school class. Grades with no clear rubric and unclear instructions. You will regret taking his class.
Having a Professors like Kossivi is one of the downsides to having affordable tuition. Theres a very large communication barrier between him and his students. If you're disciplined and good at teaching yourself you'll do fine. If you're looking for someone to teach you effectively, look elsewhere.
If you have experience and want an easy A then take the class. Otherwise I would not recommend him. You could never pay me to retake his class. He can be funny but is very rude and not and does not teach. Anything I learned I taught myself or went to the IA office hours. I would not take his class unless he is your last option.
If you want to learn, don't take his class. If you want to pass, take his class. He is a good teacher, but he rushes and jumps to solutions.
Such an amazing professor! This was my second time taking a class with him, and honestly, it was just as great as the first. Everything is online — even the tests — and the textbook is actually really good (way better than Derivita or ALEKS!). If you get the chance, definitely take his class.
when you finish homework, attending class is optional
Take this class if you want an easy pass, don't take it if you actually want to learn. Not confirmed, but I believe Segla gambles crypto currency during class.
I have no include what happened in this class and I sat in the front.. On the plus if you finish hw you don't need to go to class. Downside he just doesn't make sense, the IA was even more confused than I was. Last exam was really hard for no reason!!!! Make jokes a lot! I needed to be caffeinated to even converse with him
He only lectured twice during the entire course, while attendance wasn't mandatory and getting homework done early means you can miss class. Either way I would not ever take his courses again.
Does this guy even know how to teach? I went to class everyday and watched him scroll instagram reels more than teach. Also he knows nothing about math and is over all a jerk to the students.
Don't choose this professor. When ALEKS would put something wrong, he acts like he can't do anything to fix it and blames it on ALEKS. When I asked if he could change my grade for a test that was posted in HALO since it was wrong, he said no and told me to contact ALEKS support after I showed him evidence of what I actually got on the test on ALEKS
I had Segla for stats and he was honestly the worst professor I've had in all my years. He has a very thick accent and didn't teach a lecture a single time. Everything is online and he doesn't explain anything. Get a different teacher if you care about school whatsoever. Only bright side is that if you do work early you don't have to come to class.
If you complete the homework before class you don't have to go. His exams have no lockdown browser so you can access excel for help. He offers extra credit before exams and rounded everyone's grades on the final exam. Take him if you want to pass.
He has no idea what he is doing. Worst professor in history. How he has a job I will never understand.
Nothing he said makes sense. It is like we had to learn ourselves, whenever we would ask questions he would just repeat what he said before like we are supposed to understand. I don't recommend choosing this professor.
