He is a great teacher...

I love math now! I'm changing my major. He is a wonderful professor.

best math teacher ever...gets into great detail about the lesson plain and he makes sure that the whole class knows the material....he gets a A++ in my book

he's an easy a in the 100-level math courses. he has a strong accent, though, and he's a little hard to understand.

OMG!!!! He was an amzing Math teacher. He has definitely awakened the mathematician in me. If you have the opportunity to take his class PLEASE DO!!! From his reviews to his extra credit, it is virtually impossible to fail this class. Seriously, if you fail then u shouldnt even be in college AT ALL!!! Having him was a definite blessing for me!!

very easy class. he gives quizes daily that count as attendance and towards your grade, you can miss up to four. he does some group work every once in a while. he always lets us out early. a few exams which he gives an entire review for. great teacher, would take him again!

amazing teacher! he keeps you only for an hour. goes over everything that is on his tests. gave several extra credit oppurtuities. drops the four of the lowest quizzes(given daily). easy A as long as you show up and take notes because those are his tests!!

As long as you can follow his notes and pay attention, the class is very easy. All the questions in the exams are covered in the class. I enjoyed this class and ended with an A. Love the class and the teacher.

He is the greatest professor ever. i hated math but when I came to his class I learned so much that i wanted to change my major to math. I had him for the immersion program during the summer he was the best i was always looking foward to going to class I'll take him again and again.

i love his class so much even though its at 9 and once a week we meet at 8. go to class and the quiz are so easy, i always look foward to his class cause it flies and you have no problem with the work.

Best Math Professor I've ever had!!! Very organized! Super helpful. I used to hate Statistics and now I actually understand it. I took his class last Spring and I am using his power point slides as notes for my current Stats Class. The class material is hard, but he will help you AS LONG AS you work hard as well. Love him!

This subject can be difficult for people who are not too well in math such as myself but he is extremely helpful and constantly e-mails and updates everyone on their progress in his class. Gives many chances to improve grades but the online homework can be time consuming. Overall great teacher.

If you have him for Math 020, be prepared to do your HW!, Very tough on attendance so be on time!! Very fair with grading and always update you on where you stand via student email. Thumps up, Pro. Vakil !

Must be serious about the class; doesn't like distractions; abide by class rules. Always asks if everyone understands as work progresses. Do HW up to test level before test date & get a SURPRISE! I'd take him again in another class if I could.

Haven't been in a math class in over 14 yrs... He was very clear on what he was trying to explain and took the time to offer added time if you didn't get it to those who showed interest.

Having struggled with mathematics my entire life, this professor was great ! He reviewed for exams, quizzes were based on hw , and he was there to help if you asked. Falling behind in the class is easy and you have to work for the grade because as the term comes to an end the material becomes harder and fast paced. Professor Highly recommended !

Professor Vakil is very helpful. The homework is long takes 2-3 hours. Test are easy he gives review but there is always a trick question on it. If you don't go to class you'll fail. You need to work for you grade. Do homework because quizzes come directly from homework. If you work hard enough you'll get a high grade.

Don't believe the negative comments. He is great as long as you do your part. I stayed many times after class and asked him questions and every time he was helpful. Yes, he expects you to do the homework. Yes, he does not help you answering the exam questions ( who does). Other than that he does whatever is possible to help you pass this course.

I love his lectures. He posts the slides right after class. Expect to do the homework. Quiz and tests are directly from lectures. I love him and will take another course with him.

This class is not a show up and pass. You need to really work for your grade. He assigned weekly homework which took 2-4 hours to complete. Weekly quizzes came directly from homework. He also gave reviews for the 3 exams and the final prior to the exam date. Hands down one of the best professors! I highly recommend you to take this course with him!

Professor Vakil is HIGHLY organized which was so incredibly helpful throughout this difficult semester. Statistics is not easy, however Professor Vakil is thorough, and always available for the occasional question. He gives a lot of homework, but it's for the students' best. Tests are difficult, but he gives good reviews, no trick questions.

Easy A if you're good at math just pay attention to his lectures but if you're bad at math like me have fun spending 20-30 hours self-teaching yourself the material through the online HW site. I put in 27 hours and ended up with a B only bc I got lazy during break and got a 65 on the final.
