He's cool if you get to know him even tho he's very intimidating at first. He loves it when students visit him in his office with a question or something.

Do not be fooled about this one hundred level class. There are no study guides, nor does Sergei tell you what to pay more attention to. Map quizzes are easy if you memorize. Remember tiny details in the chapters because that is what he test on. PS: book website tests do not aid in Sergei's tests.

Sergei was an excellent devoted and motivated professor. Anyone that gets the opprotunity to have him teach you should feel grateful. His knowldge of the subject, Ornithology, was abounding and he was able to present the information that was interesting and always making you want more. My highest regards.

Very passionate about what he teaches. Ask him about the environment or birds. He loves class participation and never turns his back on a question. So, colleagues, ask him questions! He also loves field trips. :)

He's awesome. The class is fairly tough, but as long as you stay on top of your reading and STUDY VOCAB, you'll do just fine. He's a great teacher extremly helpful.

I enjoyed this course, but I wish there were study guides. This would have really been beneficial. There were cases when I spent many frivolous hours studying material that wasn't even on the test. Overall, though, I learned a lot. Also, I wish there were more options for the hot or not question, because hot doesn't even come close. :)

This professor was very hard. His tests killed me, no matter how hard I studied I couldnt get a decent test grade. I tried so many ways of studing nothing helped. I always read the class chapters before class and still didnt do well. I think he is was too hard of a professor for at 110 course. I also invested was more time in the class than worth.

Teaching methods are somewhat unorthodox, but allows for informative discussion. Sometimes loses attention to syllabus, but nonetheless very informative. Not really any structure or organization of lectures.

This class was very tough. A lot is expected of you, and the class is MUCH different than BIO 211; it will make you grow up as a college student. You will be pushed alot but its for your benefit. Some days I wanted to drop the class, but I'm glad I stayed with it. He is a very smart man and his personal stories are fantastic. I recommend this class

I enjoyed the topic of biology. I stuggled with the class however because vocab is not my strongest subject. I put in a lot of hours to studying for this class and my grade did not reflect it which was discouraging.

Great guy. He is an inspiration to those that use him as an advocate... His dedication and understanding is impressive. He will do anything to help a student. I love the class. He pushes students and for those who are in college to be pushed, like they should be, will thrive.

Super nice guy! His tests are so flipping hard though! He likes to test you on things you never went over in class. His classes are always fun and he really wants to help you pass his class, although that's a challenge in itself!

This was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken but I loved it. He is an incredible professor. Do the reading and go to class on time. Don't yawn during class, and be prepared to discuss.

I went into this class knowing my golf scheduled was packed. It was hard to keep up but it was satisfying, I can honestly say that I walk out into the world with a better understanding of my surroundings.

BIO 212 was intimidating at first. However, as long as you stay on top of all your projects you should do well. Interacting in class is important. Dr. Polozov is one of the best professors I ever had a class with. I was tempted to go into a different branch of biology because of his class! If you engage with him you will get a lot out of this class

Incredibly difficult class. Very much self taught. He's a pretty nice guy and he definitely knows his stuff, but he wasn't very good at teaching it. His tests are SUPER hard, and you better know ALL your vocab for your daily quizzes. Ask lots of questions because you'll have to understand EVERYTHING. Definitely a challenging class

Smart professor who really know's what he is talking about. Is he an easy professor - no. So if you want an easy A take another course. If you want to actually learn something, then he is the best. Knows how to teach, and does it well. I took his Marine Biology class on Semester at Sea, and I honestly learned a lot. Lots of vocab quizzes though.

His manner and accent were hard to get around at first. He was more easy going as time went on, he truly cares about what he's talking about; he's also incredibly knowledgeable. But... this was the hardest class I've ever taken. A 100 lvl taught like something upper div, I am avoiding taking him again, simply for my sanity.

Amazing, passionate, and great teacher. He is not by any means an easy A but you will learn a lot in his class. Make sure you remember you MUST turn in every assignment to pass his class. Also, recommend taking online. 100% recommend as a teacher

Dr. Polozov was the best teacher I ever had at Concordia. He is very knowledgeable on all topics covered in class. He is a tough grader, but you feel you really earned the grade after finals. I would definitely take more classes from him.

Very knowledgeable about what he does. I didn't enjoy the class, but I respect his passion for science. It was hard work, which I didn't appreciate from a class I didn't want to take and doesn't have anything to do with my major. But I do feel like I have a better understanding about general science, so thanks.

Dr. Polozov was always prepared, he expected his students to come to class equally prepared, and he taught passionately. He was my favorite professor by far, and I developed a lasting interest in ecology because of his investment. I appreciate his humor, his interest in his students, and that he shared his life experiences freely. Highly recommend!

Dr. Polozov was my professor for a Tropical Biology class that included a trip to Belize. He is passionate about the material and sharing immersive experiences in nature with students. His teaching style is rigorous and kept me engaged. The trip was organized impeccably and I will never forget my learning experience as one of his students.

Dr. Polozov is an academic at his very core. One thing I took away from the class which was entirely unrelated to the course material was that diligence and effort are critically important in ANYTHING worth pursuing. Dr. Polozov pursues education in this manner. He constantly improves and innovates on his already wealthy abundance of experience.

Dr. Polozov is knowledgeable, passionate, & inspiring. It's rare to find a question that he can't answer, but he's always transparent when unsure. He demands students' attention & participation, & his tests are difficult, but that's college! His expectations are straight forward and he sees worth in every student.
