Makes the subject easy to understand. Class is easy as long as you do some HW which he doesn't pick up and study for tests. The only down is he usually comes late to class. Quiz and test are multiple choice, making it easy to pick the right answer. Overall best math teacher so far.

Garcia makes it a bit easier to understand the material but there is just not enough class time to cover all of the material at a moderate pace. He gives extra credit quizes to help your grade but you have to do a lot of work on your own time to make it.

Professor Garcia is a life saver! i HATED math before him. he made it so easy ands tested you on EXACTLY what he taught. i took him for mat 1033 and mac 1105. hw is optional it helps but u can just get the study guide and that is a REPLICA of the test. EASY A and you LEARN!!!

Math is boring, but he actually makes sense of all the material. You have to pay attention though. He makes his material very clear and is very helpful to his students.

Don't listen to the previous comments. I took this class the fall semmester and got an A. Granted most students were failing the tests. I believe because they were not studying. He gave us a make up for the first test to replace the previous one, a second take home test and a multiple choice final. He is very clear and is always available to help.

The students that don't study and expect teachers just to pass them are the ones rating him badly. I got an A in this class, I got a 98 on my first test (make up), take home was easy 100 and 90+ on the final but I actually studied unlike others. He is very helpful and is not out to fail anyone. He gave our class lots of opportunities to pass.

I think the previous mac 1140 (trig) comments were all in my class. He was only teaching one. Ignore the negative ones. They just didnt study, PERIOD. Honestly, Im terrible in math. i always get Cs. But I got an A. He gave make ups, extra credit and a take home exam. Its impossible to fail unless you didnt try. Hes not rude, no attitude. He is nice

Best Professor in Math. The fact that others dont agree is because those people are pretty dumb. Yes, he has a slow pace but I find it important if you want to do well in math. He's there to teach and not to tell jokes. Gives you extra credit if you do your part. Study and you will do very well. I have no complaints.I'll be taking MAT1033 with him.

If you miss one class, you get lost. Attendance is not mandatory but not to miss any day is really important.

Took him for Spring both MAT 0024 and MAT 1033 miniterm. Classes are kind of boring especially being three hours long. Professor is highly helpful though and knows his math. He motivates the students to learn, and avaliable after school. Recommended if math isn't your best subject.

This guy will tell you the whole history behind 2 problems in an hour and 20 minutes, then repeat the same phrase "class do you follow the game plan" instead of just teaching how to do it and move on

i had to repeat the class granted im very bad at math also didn't take a math class for 2yrs. He is helpful.. but the test are hard and i had to repeat the class despite all the time i spent at the math lab!!! he is available office hours and willing to explain sooo.. it that helps..

Great professor, I thank him for having so much patience with me. I'm not really good at math but he takes his time to explain which was very helpful. he doesn't move on to other stuff if students don't feel comfortable. If you are not good at math take a class with him. With dedication from your part and his teaching you shall do great!

Ok, lets start by saying that I never liked Trigonometry, I took this class twice before taking it with Mr Garcia and I couldn't pass it, when I took this class with him it was my last chance to pass it, I was hoping to get a B, but thanks to him I got an A, I loved his class. he is a really good guy and he tries to help you. grading sistem easyyyyyy but tests not that easy, however he knows what he is doing and he wants you to learn, so tests are not completely multiple choice and that is awesome cuz u do not learn with MC tests

Good teacher gives many advantages to pass the class ( points for homework, extra credit, etc.) attendance is mandatory , no need to buy books.. Maybe the problem is that he does not explain very well the exercises, but if paid attention and you do the homework you will pass!

professor garcia is one of the more dedicated teachers at mdc. he will not leave you behind if you do not understand something. he will explain anything over again until you get it. i highly recommend him if you plan on taking any math course.

He's very nice and he wants you to pass. He gives a lot of extra credit which are 5 points each and they're little 2 question exams. We only took 2 test which are 20 questions and then the final. He's very indepth with his lectures and takes a while to explain it and honestly, I appreciate a professor like that.

This is Calculus 1, it is not an easy course due to the material. But if you are going to take a hard course (this was 5 credits) then you take a good professor. He went extremely in-depth when it came to explaining the problems and his patience is like NO OTHER. He also gave extra credit quizzes. He wants you to pass and he is the nicest person.

I loved him! I took a 6 week class and it was a lot of homework but of course is because of the short semester. You have to study (as normal) but if you have any question you can ask him and he is gonna answer you. There were 3 quizzes, 2 exams and the final. Proctored exams. He also gave us extra credits. You won't regret :)

He really does his best to help us, I lost internet connection during a test, and everything went well. I really recommend this professor very understanding and an excellent teacher.

Took it for Spring. He used connectmath, which is an online textbook. Only 4 discussion boards, 6 quizzess, proctored midterm/final. Leaves homework every week, gives feedback, and replies pretty quick.

The course is a typical math course. If you don't know what's going on, you are going to struggle, otherwise it's an easy class if you put in the work. On occasion, he'll stop the class to tell a short, but entertaining, story. He's passionate about what he teaches. All homework assignments are reopened near the end of the semester.

I had him for Calc 1, he does give a lot of homework but he gives us until the end of the semester to complete it...he is a wonderful teacher. If you need help with a problem email him and he will record how to solve the answer. he will help you a lot if you ask for it because he knows its a 5 credit course.

Very thorough in explaining concepts. He will go into detail and break down simple problems to show the entire process, which can be good or bad depending on how you prefer to learn. He does tend to backtrack for even simple questions and spends a lot of time explaining stuff, but you'll leave the class with a good understanding.

Professor Garcia is a great math instructor who really wants students to succeed. The coursework is challenging, but he provides plenty of support, extra practice, and even extra credit opportunities. Using Unstuck AI along with the textbook and office hours helped me stay on top of the material.

His class is alright. He is super nice and caring about his students but takes forever to respond to emails regarding issues with exams. Beware of harsh points deductions on exams/quizzes, you must email him after the exam discussing the points you missed on the exam. I would take his class again if it was in person and not MDC Live.
