Online class is hard if you do not have a background in music. Weekly quizzes, 4 small writing assignments, a concert report, proctored midterm and final. Great professor though, answers e-mails very quickly and makes everything clear. If you take this online class, do your work! Unless you are a music guru this is not a slack class.

Great professor! I took this class online and it was simple and fun. It is a lot of work though so don't just think its peaches and cream. You have to read about 3 chapters every week and many quizzes, tests and posts. Also you have to visit a museum. About 5 essays are also necessary. But he is great!

Professor Gonzalez is great! be ready to read to pass the weekly quizzes. There's TONS of extra credit, make sure to do the study guides they help with the quizzes and tests. You will have 2 essays 1 at a museum and the 2nd performance show. Don't worry there are clear guidelines to them. responds quickly to to emails too. would take again.

It was an online course so my interaction with Professor Gonzalez was limited. He always answered back promptly and was helpful to myself and my classmates. It was a lot of work, but if you get all the reading done and pay close attention to the study guides it's easy to pass. And in case you are struggling, there is extra credit galore.

This professor is very knowledgeable and inspirational. He has a very uplifting and charismatic personality. He loves to be funny and can be very silly at times which helps engage the class. Honestly he made it very bareable to wake up at 7am to get through traffic and arrive at 9am. He is very understanding too, he helped me make up a test.

He likes to give online testes so you can do it on your house with the book. BOOK IS A MUST, the questions are found EASILY in the book. There are listening quizzes. He makes you write 2-4 papers depending on the term and 1-3 of them are concerts critics. If you miss a due date he will reopen it for you. Obtaining an A you will if you pay attention

Hands down, most interesting and entertaining, knowledge filled class I have ever taken (142 credits to date). Easy to follow availability and due dates. Easy A if you put in the effort. Just do the assignments and you will be fine. Mandatory final and I got A's on all my tests and quizzes and that final was extremely hard! Especially the written portion because he never taught us that. However since I did really well on everything else I still got an A at the end.

This is the best Humanities class to take if you are someone with a busy hectic schedule! You have a discussion and a quiz due for each chapter. You have one Midterm thats only based on two chapters. He gives extra credit, a chance to make up your work, and study guides for everything. He also has two visitation assignments that are super easy too.

Assignments are an easy A. About 3 or 4 online tests but once again, they are pretty simple. Show up to class as much as you can and you will be good. I absolutely recommend professor Gonzales if you are interested in the class and are willing to learn. Grades based on participation rather than performance and if you pass the final exam then you basically pass the class. His assignments motivate you to think and actually question certain topics. In order to easily pass the class, you have to do the connect exercises and quizzes. There is a mid-term (proctered) and final exam (optional and not proctered). There is only one hard assignemnt which is the Visitation assignment but he can help you out on how to complete it. Overall, very easy class.

I recommend this class to everyone. Professor Gonzalez is great and you can tell he cares about his students. He made the class fun, you can tell he is very passionate (he does send a lot of homework but he gives us a lot of time to complete it and its pretty easy).

Great class. Midterm proctored, Final non-proctored. One paper but it was not hard, he gives you a layout that makes it easy to set up. Gives extra credit and does make-up weeks. One of the best professors I've ever had. He truly cares about students and teaches amazing classes. There's a lot of homework, but he's understanding. The class has a proctored midterm, a non-proctored final, and a visitation project. He explains everything clearly, and it's not hard. Highly recommend!

Decent amount of work. Prepare for the listening quizzes the most. He was a great professor, very knowledgeable and understandable about the subject. He was always open to talking to students and understanding about situations. There is a concert critique at the end of the semester but he has a concert and also provides other resources. Professor Gonzalez is an amazing professor. His teaching is incredible and very interactive. The grades are very easy and he is extremely lenient with grades. 10/10 would take this class again.

There is no better teacher than this, he is very concerned about the students and enjoys that his students have a good grade.

This class was amazing. He only gives 3 HW's for an entire week, which realistically can get done in 2-3 hours. He offers many extra credit assignments, so if you're worried about not achieving a grade good enough, you can use these to help boost your grade. He's so caring, and if you need to take this class, TAKE IT WITH PROFESSOR GONZALEZ!!!

Good teacher. It's important to know that there are at least four to five assignments each week. He responds quickly. Despite the fact that there are several assignments, they aren't that complicated.

Professor Gonzalez really cares about his students, he's fun and patient. It's a humanities class, which requires a lot of activities, so he assigns between 2 and 4 activities per week, but they are not difficult to complete.

Professor Gonzalez is very chill and nice. Very lecture heavy, 3-hour online class. Make sure to be ready to participate. Make sure to complete every assignment, they are all easy, but he assigns A LOT.

He's very passionate about music and is an amazing teacher. He's very interactive and discussion heavy. However, he assigns a lot of homework, and the classes last up to 3 hours without many breaks. Despite all that, he's an amazing and understanding teacher in regard to absences and late work along with general discussions about music.

Overall, the class covers a lot of material and he always assigns test after teaching the material. However, most of the tests are taken by yourself outside of class. Participation is veryy mandatory! But he's pretty nice about it. Moreover, he rounds up grades so like an 88% would end up in an A. Super nice professor and easy class!

This teacher is so nice, he lovesss participation. If u take his class on MDC Live he will call u out to do things like reading small paragraphs or to answer simple questions. He is very passionate about music and his assignments are easy. If u have a 87% or higher in the class by the end of the course u are not obligated to take the final.

There were textbooks but they were provided through PDFs. Super interesting class. Had a lot of fun. Delightful teacher. Understanding and very flexible. Fun lessons but the class encompasses so much that you oftentimes find yourself relying on the slides and PDFs. Would recommend him to anybody and everybody I know.

Sergio Gonzalez is a phenomenal professor who keeps lectures interesting and really likes student input, don't be shy. If you pay attention and participate, the class is easy. He's very forgiving (I had several missing assignments at the end of the year, and he let me redo them all). Always open to questions. I'd gladly take another class with him.
