One of the most boring classes I have ever taken. It doesn't help that the class is at 8:05 in the morning (ONLY section offered both semesters). He plows right on through the material, hardly ever stopping. He rarely asks if there are questions, and doesn't really explain in much detail when there are. The problem sets can be extremely tedious.

The workload is heavy, especially with the lengthy pre-lecture videos. Religious take notes on them since it's easy to fall behind. Kryatov is generous -- he goes over practice problems in FULL detail and answers questions fairly well. Actual tests are WAY easier than practice exams B and C, so make sure to take those and TIME YOURSELVES!!

Dr. Kryatov's teaching is a violation of equilibrium. I'm stuck in a system where the only constant is confusion, and nothing is ever balanced. Every attempt to clarify only adds more chaos. No amount of buffering or therapy can fix this.

Why does it take forever to complete the Achieve problems? I've been working on them all week, and for nothing. I couldn't get them done in time, and Dr. Kryatov won't even consider a late penalty—just a straight-up ‘no late submissions.' Come on, bro, we're not all superhuman. Some of us can't just pull answers out of thin air like you do.

Currently in the class, people totally overhyping it. Flipped classroom style makes content easy to understand since you can just ask questions in class if you're confused. Tests are curved and based off of practice problems that are given. Really not that bad of a class so far.

Each lecture usually consists of the prof. completing problems on a chalkboard, which I didn't find engaging. Exams are fast-paced/difficult, and they don't let up on assignments (we had hw, lab report and quiz, + problem set due the week of midterms). If you suspect you might have ADHD, see someone early (preferably before you take Chem 2).

If you are completely new to Chem 2 topics and learn best when material is taught, beware; if not, this class will be easy and take up very little time.

In my experience, Chem 2 was a relatively challenging class. Kryatov's lectures were useless in my opinion, as he was almost teaching at you, and he wouldn't even know how to answer questions from students. I found success not going to lectures and learning on my own to be so honest. Labs were fun, but sometimes the instructions were misleading.

Terrible lecturer, I went to 4 lectures and 3 of those were to take tests. His only saving grace is that the pre-recorded lectures are decent and you can learn the material on your own. Problem sets are long and grueling, so be prepared to spend 6-10 hours on them a week.

Sergiy is so funny. I have never had a teacher who makes me crack up quite like him. If you have a good foundation of chemistry knowledge, this class will be smooth sailing. Make sure to watch the lecture videos before class because it makes class easier, more enjoyable, and you can actually learn and do the problems he gives in class.

Taken Spring 2025. Flipped classroom w/ very dense pre-lecture videos, not sure if this changed. Made it quite boring but you need to attend lecture to grind out problems and ask questions even though he can be a jerrk about it. I took AP Chem beforehand, (so I'm biased), so it was a lot easier. If you didn't take that tho, make sure to grind hard
