You will fail miserably if you don't know pre-cal. Guys.. it is not Mickey mouse anymore.. Monkey see, Monkey do, Monkey produce. If you don't know, write down "I don't know" beside the question and straight to learning center after class... all these funny phases hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Very cool prof, he makes the class entertaining with all his strange stories and comments. Questions on tests are just like those taught in class. He is generous with part marks on tests and quizes.

His class is pritti easy...and is funny and interesting in his class...not much works in class...1st haf =lesson...2nd haf almost free time and can leve early if u want...a pritti fair markerr!!!

SOLUTION KEY is the KEY to get an A+in his class.However, he has two versions to the tests.makes sure you have both.. since he might pick questions from both tests.don't forget .REMEMBER to spend 30 mins before the test hour to memorize the solution key. I am sure you will get at least 80% in the final no need extra hard wor.. since it is worthless

Make sure u take 1112 b4 takin his class, hes a nice guy, makes class fun.. but is always talkin bout UBC and goes off topic a lot.. lets u out of class like 20 minz early too. Tests are medium - difficult, but if u study u shud b fine..

I studied for his class, it's not that easy at all. his notes aren't that helpful, the tests are pretti hard too. if you know alot about pre-cal stuff then u'll do alright, but if u don't..i dunt recommend him at all. you dunt realli learn anything in his class. but i must say he really funny!

Go to class, do the homework, that's all there is to it. I learned more in his class than any other class i took at kwantlen. If you need help he'll give it to you, he even gives hints WHILE you are taking quizzes/tests.

PARKING LOT GUY. He teaches the class for about 1 hour then he makes us do group discussion. He stays in the parking lot while we are discussing. His final is not too bad. He almost gave us the answers. Extended the exam times. Pretty good teacher but not enough explainations and clarity teaching.

Sergeui is so dedicated to his students-he is the only math prof who seems to care about TEACHING. He puts in extra time at the Learning Centre just to make sure you really get it.

hes a funny guy, often makes jokes in class. his lectures r sorta boring and most of the notes that he made r unclear. but his tests r really mickey mouse. so dont worry, he wont be too hard on u guys.

Serguei Is a great prof. Even thought his classes might be hard, he makes it easy and fun. He gives practice tests and solutions to them, he tells exactly what will be on the tests and how many marks each section will be. He is also very helpful during office hours and he will write you an e-mail back very soon. He is the best take his classes

"Guys, how comes Calc III students don't know derivative and intergral? They even don't know how to factor out something. I'm really overwhelmed!" -- Dr. Serguei Novocellski. Well, if you know the basic stuff, Calc III of him is much easier than anyone else. He will give you a practice test exactly like the test he's going to give you. EZ to get A+

Some notes are cut-off and contain errors. BUT!! he really tries to to help his students who wants to learn and show him the effort. Tests are harder than his notes but he also grades for neat hand writing. Its not hard to get a B out of his class, but an A demands considerable amount of effort. TOTALLY RECOMMANDED IF YOU ARE READY TO LEARN!!

Awesome professor! Tends to explain things very in depth. Hates students who slack off and don't show up for class on a regular basis. This is a high volume fast paced course If it's too much for you, take MATQ 1093.

He was really a funny teacher and easy marker! At first I thought this course could be tough, but I just followed his notes and lectures, and my result was satisfactory. He was interesting and let you like Math gradually.

An awesome prof. Notes are very clear and easy to understand and his miterms are almost exactly the same as the sample questions from the notes. Final was very straight forward too. Just do your homework and go to each class. You will probably pull off an A in this course if you just do that. Would take him anytime.

Great Prof. Very clear expectations and clear and concise notes. Easy to follow through the course. Just review the notes before the tests. The tests are very fair and almost IDENTICAL to sample questions done in class.No surprise questions in the finals. I would take him for further courses. Got an A- but could have done better if i tried harder

I took Novocelskii for MATH 1112 & pulled off a B+ for the course (the first time I took it I nearly failed). He is the best math prof I've ever had! Advice: Attend every class & take good notes. He is notorious for corny jokes but I like to think it's a good way to pass time. He hardly uses the textbook yet it's good reference. Good luck & enjoy:)

Well I never had him for a real class but I talked to him 2 or 3 times in the LC for help haha~~ super nice and so smart!!! amazing! I will continue with math since all the math profs at kwantlen are just so GREAT and helpful!! :D

Serguei is very cute prof!!! He loves “mocking” on students, but that is super fine. He is just having some entreatment. He is very helpful and also gives sample quizzes before real ones. He only uses the notes in class, don't need to buy text b.

TAKE SERGUEI !!! Put in the time and effort and you will get a good grade. the course itself is difficult but he makes it interesting to attend class. I failed 1112 the first time but got a b+ the second time, GO INTO OFFICE HOUR he will tutor you one on one ! hes funny and not to hard on the eyes lol

you should attend classes . he explains really good and in easy way. if you do assignments, you can get extra marks which will get add up with midterm marks which is really a good way to increase you few marks if you didn't do good in your exam.

He is a pretty strict marker, but is passionate about every student's success. Tests are hard, but you are given sample tests beforehand with similar questions to work on. Prioritize lecture/handout questions and sample tests, show up to class to see what's expected, and seek help from the learning centre (as he may suggest), and you'll be fine.

"Do you understand? It's not Mickey Mouse here." Those are some of the things you may hear from him during your time in his class. He has a love for all things not Mickey Mouse, so you better be ready to do all of the suggested homework. The tests are mostly comprised of the practice questions. He has a interesting sense of humour.

Intimidating at first but a great instructor who really cares about your success. He's one of the few profs that I can go to for help without feeling anxious. Took condensed course w him after failing 1230 w Colin Macleod- definitely a good idea. Notes a little bland but he's always willing to repeat himself until you understand.

Hes kind of strict, meaning that he expects you to do the work and be prepared for class, but overall a great teacher, helps you out whenever possible, even during exams. Just go to class, do the homework and he will appreciate the effort.

Serguei is kind and cares about students. He tries his best to help but this is a class that requires many pre-requisites. His exams are rushed so you must really know the material. Textbook is mandatory as it helps clear up concepts and has good practice problems. If you have the required pre-reqs, you should do fine. The class just requires work.

I had horrible Math profs at KPU before but with Serguei, everything seems so straightforward and easy. His lectures are very helpful and you will find the solution to his tests solely on his lectures. The exams are as expected, similar to his practice exams. Do the assignments and practice tests, you will get an A. P.S. I took a condensed course.

Course is hard, but prof is great! If you're not good at math, plz don't take, you're going to fail. Had frd who did bad in Calc 1, went to every class, did hw, still failed. That's just the nature of calc 2. Prof spends majority of time showing a TON of examples, if you can understand it and able to do the practice test, exam is almost identical.

Math 1220 is challenging, but the prof explains things really well. Use resources like Unstuck AI and the practice tests to prep - you'll nail the exams if you do.
