Professor McGunia is the best! I came into her class thinking that I was going to fail because I always struggled with math. She's very smart & really cares about her students! She gives Friday tutoring lessons for students that need extra help & even makes Youtube videos of her lessons! I used to hate math but now it's 1 of my fave subjects!

Professor McGunia is an excellent math instructor. I had her for 910 & 950. She takes her time teaching the material so that we understand it. She also does a great time relating the material to the real world. When I left her class I had a much better opinion about math. It's my favorite subject (I used to hate it). Take her. You won't regret it.

This is the last math class I need for my major (Advanced Algebra) and I swear it was my achilles heel. I've taken it 3 different times with 3 different professors and I always ended up dropping it. Professor McGunia is excellent at breaking down math concepts. All 22 of my classmates who started with me finished with me. Amazing class!

Excellent Teacher! Makes time for students and explains complicated problems to the simplest basic level. Explains what is on the test. Just show up for class and write down examples. I always looked forward to her class. Wish she was teaching 1060 this fall at Eastern Campus (hint, hint)

I took her for an 8 week Math 950 Course. It was an intense course. You basically get out of the course what you put into the course. She's a great teacher but if you don't put forth any effort, you probably won't pass. She's one of the best teachers I've had at Tri-C.

Have her for Math 960 Hybrid. She really works with her students and gives us tons of chances for extra credit. Very lively & fun & she teaches us all the material in a way that is easy to understand. My last hybrid teacher taught us absolutely NOTHING!! I'll be taking her again for 1200.

VERY helpful professor, I will be taking her 1200 class over the Summer. She makes sure that her students understand the assignments being given to them and is open to class discussion over lecture

Ms. Guinia is the best. She believed in us when we felt defeated. Take good notes because u just might need them. When she knew the class was not catching on to difficult chapters, she would allow us to use our notes for tests. U never knew when she would, so dont expect it, but ultimately I recommend her 100%

She is the best. Before taking her class i couldn't do hardly any math if the fate of the universe depended on it. She takes the time to help the whole class learn. Her notes are valuable i still have them and use them in my current math class. The only negative think i could say is she was always late.

I'm currently taking her for online College Algebra. She has gone above and beyond any teacher I've ever had in my entire LIFE!! She even created a FB page so that we could access her and when we have questions,she uploads video responses which is neat. You can tell she really cares and that means a lot.On top of that she's FINE as heck!

Was mostly an independent-learning class. Could be very difficult for some, however, Professor Mcgunia is always available to answer questions--unlike other teachers. She's also very easy to communicate with since she has a Facebook that she uses daily. Also, lots of extra credit opportunity! I wish I had interacted with her more.

I took this class online and it consisted of completing assignments via the Hawkes math software, and taking 3 exams plus a final on campus. Professor McGunia's study guides were awesome. They gave an accurate portrayal of what problems would be on the test. She also accepts late certify assignments, which was extremely helpful.

I took her online math 1250 class. Math is not my strong subject at all, and typically i feel rather behind in every math class i take. However, when it comes to her class, i did not feel that way at all. We used mymathlab, and she gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. She is also great about sending reminder emails for due assignments!

Good professor, explains each section thoroughly. We can ask her questions on her Facebook business page and she'll reply with a video which is great.

If you do all the homework and quizzes and not do well on the tests , I believe you will be able to still pass. You are allowed multiple chances on the quizzes and homework. I hope she teaches 1410/1420 math.

If you are bad at math, do not take an online math class. I'm average and I took Math 980 through Hawkes. It's a lot of work but she stayed on top of us. We received constant reminders about due dates. When I missed an exam, she contacted me to make sure I was ok. She really cares about her students and wants us to succeed. Highly recommended.

She is an excellent professor. If you take her for hybrid, come to class. Expect a lot of homework and do the study guides. Her Friday sessions are the best. My only recommendation is that she not teach her classes back to back because the class right before mine was across campus so she sometimes ran late. Other than that, she's perfect.

She was a great instructor. She explained things clearly and made sure everyone understood before she moved on. Her tests are exactly like her study guides so make sure to do those and ask questions if you have any. One thing I didn't like was that she was late often and sometimes apologized. It also takes her a while to grade tests.

As part of my probation, I had to take a GED class. Ms. Serita was my teacher. My class had the highest pass rates in GED math. She pushed all of us 2 go 2 college. I graduate from Tri-C this month- 1st in my family & proved everybody wrong. She believes in us & makes us feel like we can be great & have better lives. She's an angel. God bless u Ms.

I took the online 1250 course. I was terrified because I had a horrible experience with a past online math class. With children and work my schedule is very tight forcing me to take this class online. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised. The program used is excellent at breaking down and explaining the material.

Math is always a constant struggle with me. Professor McGunia was easy to understand, always willing to lend a hand and help understand some of the more difficult concepts, and worked hard to encourage the class to collaborate with each other. Best professor ever. Homework is open until the end of the semester. You have deadlines, but you can turn assignments in late with a 10% penalty. Most of us have taken this class 2-3 times with other profs & finally passed it with her. We did not learn on our own but because we finally had a good professor who explained things well.

Incredible Professor for online Statistics. A lot of work but she stays on top of us. You must have an 80% on pre-req assignments before taking exams, which I liked because it kept me accountable. She responds to emails within a day & is usually understanding when you ask for extensions. Just took my last exam and got an A in the course. She Rocks

i would definitely take another class taught by her in a heartbeat. Her study guides really help you when it comes to taking the tests. There really aren't any surprises. She does not allow you to disrespect her or fellow classmates. A lot of students come to her with personal issues and she genuinely cares. A lot of us pass but it's a lot of work.

I usually take classes on another campus, but I work downtown & she came highly recommended. I LOVE this professor but HATED the mentality of some of the students. She is very no nonsense. Come to learn. No cellphones, headphones or laptops. If you come late, she won't reteach what's been taught. No talking during lectures. Don't expect an easy A.

AMAZING ONLINE CLASS!! Took a 16 week Statistics course in 8 weeks. I wanted to withdraw twice, but Professor McGunia encouraged me not to. I'm glad I didn't. It took a lot of hard work, but I finished with a strong B. Thank you Professor for not giving up on me. If you have take an online class, take her!! I promise, you won't regret it.

By far the best Professor at Tri-C. I took her for Hybrid 960 so our class was 50/50 class and online. She did a great job for it to be a hybrid course. Do not expect to pass her class if you do not do your homework & study for her tests. Whenever I struggled with a concept, I skipped the tutors & went directly to her during her office hours.

One of the best there is. Lectures are clear as day and her enthusiasm is almost contagious. Don't expect an effortless A but she will go out of her way in helping you not only pass, but understand the material. She has an amazing grasp on the hardships of life, making her very flexible. Homework is heavily required. 100% recommend. .

She is a passionate instructor who loves what she does. Do not take hybrid, especially in the summer, if you don't want to feel rushed. In her regular classes, she goes much slower. I've had her since 910 & she gives Friday study sessions & buys us lunch. This was my least favorite class of hers, but it wasn't her fault. She is still the best!!

Excellent Statistics Professor. Very knowledgeable. Laid back once you get to know her. Wish I could take her for Stats II next semester at Ohio State.

My experience for 3 semesters: 1) She always uses powerpoint. Only writes on the board to better explain problems. 2) Always passes back tests. Great teacher she is really good at replying to questions. She's also super cute so make sure you go to class even if it's just to look at her.

I was in an 8-week course online but everything was super easy and simple. She was very open to helping the students who were having a hard time. She wanted to make sure we all passed. All you have to do is read your chapters, do your homework, and take quizzes & exams; nothing difficult.

This is a professor that goes out her way to her students have all the tools necessary to past. She came in for a few students in our class on her OFF DAY to go over material that will be on the test, handing out extra study guides. She is very inspiring, she continues to build you up and let you know that YOU CAN DO THIS!

The BEST math professor Ive had through all my math classes. The work is easy as long as u stay on top of your assignments and stay focused. I would definitely take her again if I needed another math class at Tri-C.

AMAZING ONLINE CLASS!! I absolutely LOVE the way this class was set up. Everything went so smoothly. We had 9 quizzes, 9 homework assignments and 3 tests. The tests must be taken at an assessment center, but her study guides are just like her tests (the numbers are just changed). My 1st A in math!! Thanks Dr. McGunia. You're the best!!

Do the assignments and the study guides, you WILL pass this online class. Dr. McGunia was responsive through e-mail. The only downfall is that you have to go to a testing center to take the 3 exams during the course. This was not convenient for someone who has a full-time day job and is over an hour away to any of the campus testing centers.

I took Dr. McGunia's class based on the reviews on this site and I'm so glad I did!! She's an excellent professor who truly cares about her students. The online class was set up perfectly. I work full-time and I am a single mother and the class didn't overwhelm me. I moved to Houston and was able to get my exams proctored at a nearby library.

My favorite professor at Tri-C. I used to hate math, but thanks to Professor McGunia- it has become my favorite subject. She has a way of making everyone fall in love with the subject. That in and of itself is a gift.

Go to class, do you homework, utilize her study guides and you will pass.

Dr. McGunia's is the best online professor I've ever encountered! I appreciate the fact that she sends out exam and homework reminders. Whenever I've reached out to her, she's responded within 24 hours. She allows us to work ahead which I appreciate. I will be receiving an A in her Calculus I course and will be taking her again for Calc II.

Ive taken this math class twice with two different professors, but Dr. McGunia was the BEST instructor ever. She makes sure you understand each step of math. Highly recommended!!

Took an online course with her. Her exams are very much like her study guides, so if you master them, you will do well on the tests. She is very nice, helpful and accesible.

Best online class Ive ever taken!! Grade is determined by homework and exams. Her study guides were EXTREMELY helpful!! She also uses Proctor U for exams (very convenient since I recently moved to Summit county) . So glad I was able to get a slot in her 1620 course as her classes seem to fill up quickly.

I took this class online. It was great. I followed the time lines and did the work. If you master the study guide you will get an A on the test. I am a returning student and have not had math in years and this was easy to follow with great examples and help if you needed it. I would 100% take this class again.

Fast e-mail response, VERY reasonable work load, We were allowed calculators and one sheet of notes/formulas on tests. If online, be prepared to take a few tests at the testing center.

My favorite professor!!

I had McGunia for Math 1240, she's the best professor I've had. When it comes to exams you have to go into one of the testing centers however, you can bring one cheat sheet front/back to every exam. Her grading criteria is very clear: just do the homework/quizzes and take the exams. There is really no reason to why you'd fail her class, easy A!

I recently took her this spring for 0960. I was so excited to have her again for 1240. She is an excellent professor. She cares about her students. She wants all of her students to be successful. She really will work with you if you cant understand or falling behind. She teaches math in a way that if your math HATER like me, you will understand.

I recently took her this spring 2019. She is excellent. She definitely cares about her students. I always HATED math, but she has taught me how to be ok with math. TAKE NOTES!! Do your homework, and come to class. She also is very understanding. It was a pleasure having her as a professor.

I was very nervous about taking calc because I've always struggled with math. However, she set up her class very well and made the class easy to digest. Her exams are exactly like the study guides which takes a lot of the pressure off. You always know what to expect which is nice.

Videos, powerpoints and study guides were provided. I enjoyed the way the class was set up because all assignments were available on the first day. I ended up finishing the course in 6 weeks instead of 14. Dr. McGunia is highly personable and will push you to be great. If you struggle with math, take her. You'll thank me later.

With it being an online and night class, Dr. McGunia kept class interesting in hopes to keep us interested (and awake). Her powerpoints are very straightforward. Not like many professors, Dr. McGunia is one that wants you to succeed. She ALWAYS encouraged us to keep pushing! I would 100% recommend her to anyone! AWESOME professor!

I was in Professor Mcgunia's class for an 8-week session. You usually have about 8 assignments every week including 4 videos and 4 quizzes. She gives you the whole week to complete the assignments, and you can work ahead and get more done because she has all the assignments open. Taking the second 8 weeks of school might be a lot with finals week.

Would recommend her for those taking MATH 0965. The best professor ever taken for MATH 0965 course.

Great and caring professor. I took her online for Math 1610 this summer and passed with an A. This was my third time taking it and I finally understood it with her. She really gives you the tools to succeed and constantly reminded us that we were capable of succeeding. I honestly can't imagine anyone failing her class. Highly recommended.

I'm really surprised at the negative reviews. Like many others, I took her based off the reviews on RMP and as a transient student from Ohio State, I consider her one of the best professors I've ever had. Hawkes is awful, but it seems like that's what Tri-C uses. She's caring and goes above and beyond for her students. Highly recommended.
