Great teacher, knows what he's teaching.
Funny and very intelligent!

very funny, very interesting, and very sexy
Really great guy! His classes are fun but he is a bit disorganized.
Western Civ. Prepare for the history of France. No just kidding. Good guy with a plethora of information about European occurrences.
He is so sweet...extremely into FRANCE! No written hw, just reading and quick daily quizzes... Also, he is attractive! =)
As a history major and now social studies teacher, this guy taught me more about how to lose prior knowledge on a subject then using it to explore and expand on it.. An arrogant liberal like the Professor from the movie Loser

Definitely a little unorganized and frazzled but a decent professor
Awesome professor who tells it like it is. Some people (poster below) may not like to hear the truth- but hey, Professor Armus tells it as he sees it, and he rocks.
Such a funny guy and his class is so easy.
I found him annoying. I do not like the fact that he merely reads from the text...I mean I already read the damn text I dont need you to read it to me
funny, cool, guy, also sexy! as long as u read the text ull do great- id take him again
Outstanding professor
Good teacher, can be a bit borning though. No written homework, just a weekly quizz. Deffinitly knows what hes talking about, very enthuasitic and passionate about what he is saying, but unfortantly what he says isnt all that interesting.
He is so awesome
Great Professor
Really nice guy, weekly quizzes on THE most boring bible/philosopher stuff ever but his tests are easy and he is really funny at times
great professor
Take him for anything you can!!!!!...he's an awesome professor, the time goes by fast when you are in his class
Keeps you entertained in class, weekly quizzes where he just pulls questions outta the air..Tests are only easy if u are a HISTORY MAJOR...I don't know where the questions came from...but he is still a funny guy.
Funny Guy, really easy grader that grades on a curve. Boring readings for HW and has a dry subject but a decent professor
Made the mistake of taking a french history class with him. He just knows too much information and i got lost quickly. But he is a great teacher and i would suggest trying to get into one of his classes...just not French history.
Dr.Armus plays favorites. Beware with him he is very unorganized. Do not let him discourage you. He makes some hurtful comments, I am not sure if he really means them.
Professor Armus is a great teacher.. Who has a love for what he does... A good guy too.. Kinda cute too..
the best
Such a nice man. You can tell he has a passion for history...especially when it comes to France. Not a hard class, only 1 test which is the final. A few papers and quizzes. Take him if you can!
Why are there 3 papers in a history class? And he makes you feel left out if you're not a history major.
Great professor. Makes class intersting and lets you out early! A few short papers and easy 20 question tests. The best part...he looks like Robin Williams!!!
i must say i def. learned a lot in this class. he made it int'ing, but m/t was a collossal nightmare. He favors the hist. majors (which I'm not), but he is very fair in marking papers (of which there are quite a few). i'd say - go for it and take him! you certainly won't be bored!
Dr. Armus is a great professor. He is very interesting and he makes the class fly by. We had to read 2 out of 3 short books and the final was easy. There is a quiz every other week, thats not so hard if you do the readings.

He is really fun.. and really nice but wacky..
Interesting class, but found it hard to concentrate..Armus is really hot. Love to take him again but not a history major-C'est la vie
Awesome professor, very knowledgable and extremely down to earth. His lectures are great, and he makes the class interesting through films, documents, etc. Oh yeah, he's also really hot and a Mets fan.
Good teacher and very smart. Lectures are fun because he changes them every once in a while with films and powerpoint and watching movies. I found most tests to be difficult. Must take notes on your own and read the chapters he assigns (ALOT OF THEM). its hard to concentrate sometimes though becuase he moves around alot. He can't stay still.
Hard to keep track of things, definitley have to read the chapters on your own because it sometimes is hard to follow him, tests arent too bad. But he's definitely a little wierd
very hard to follow, doesnt write notes, tests are difficult, doesnt really explain.
Great teacher of history. Yo, if anyone here dislikes this history channel BTW... I have nothing to say to you that can be said here.
Funny, friendly and upfront.
A fun class to take, he's kind of crazy and moves around a lot but is so passionate about what he's teaching it get you into it too. Good class and teacher.
very easy going. attendance is mandatory, except when there are tests and papers due. it helps to read the textbook on your own but you can get by without it. i recommend him.
very funny, energetic, sometimes hard to follow during lectures. doesn't write notes out, so make sure to write your own during class! A LOT of reading - 2/3 papers required, 5/6 quizzes required. shows a few movies. I don't remember him taking attendance. quiz/final were difficult, but I passed and I hate history. great guy though!
Nice guy...a little out there...quizzes everyday on what we read...easy tho...no final or midterm which is a plus
very energetic and funny. knows so much about the subject but doesn't write any notes so make sure you take notes on your own. shows some interesting films and grades all quizzes with a curve and drops one at the end. not many papers required and attendance isnt mandatory, but showing up will help keep your grade up bc thats where you take notes
I took him for West. Civ. I. It was such an easy class. The quizzes are easy, and he allows leeway for some answers. The paper is ridiciously easy. He's also very flexible about due dates. I don't think there was any final exam either.
Really really nice man. Funny and teaches a lot as well. Little nutty, but that's what makes him so entertaining. The tests aren't bad, and I got a good final grade. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
Hes Great! and hot too ! his quirkiness is kind of cute! Hes a wonderful professor!
Armus is awesome!! Ill glasses too.
Armus is the MAN! By far one of the best professors I've ever had at St. Joseph's. He's very relaxed when it comes to grades and due dates. He's a lot of fun in class with his craziness and he makes everything he's teaching really interesting. I wish I could take more classes with him!! Not so bad to look at either =)
Armus is great I've taken him 3 times He's an easy grader and doesn't assign alot of work.
Professor Armus is THE MAN. He talks with great enthusiasm and he really loves what he does. He gives generous curves and only tests 3 times a semester, with the lowest grade dropped. Awesome professor any class offered by him.. take it!
Sethy is by far the best teacher here at St. Joes College. He makes history fun with all his knowledge, but his dashing good looks is what really makes the class awesome. His glasses are awesome as well. Take his classes! EYE CANDY!
French Revolution/Napoleon. Awesome guy, interesting subject. He dives head first into each class. Midterm, Final, 8-10 pg paper. At times he can be extremely unclear and goes in circles but eventually finds his way. I only had him once and wish i was still at SJC to take another class. He's generally easy about reading and attendence. Take him!
Took him last year for French Revolution. He is an awesome professor, very laid back and understanding. Some people may say he's a pushover, I would lean more toward he just understands there are other things in your life than his class. Midterms and Finals are a joke just pay remotely attention and you'll be fine. I would recommend him.
he is very nice, easy quizzes, little reading and you have a lot of chances to get a good grade..he only grades like5 out of 7 quizzes and out of 13 blackboard assignments... no papers
Armus is the man. He is a quirky guy with an awesome personality. He is always there for you if you have questions and makes learning fun (especially French). Also, he has an awesome sense of style; his glasses are badass. He has a fold up bicycle that he brings to class and rides around campus on occasion. A FOLD UP BICYCLE!! Best professor ever!!
Hes alright..hard quizzes but grades on a curve. Id only take him if you love the french and love history.
I had Seth in 2 times in 1996.He is the best professor I ever had the pleasure of having. If everyone was like him, it would be a perfect system.
The whole class was a lecture. He just talked and talked and talked and it was far from intresting. i fell asleep alot because you do no group work or interaction. Homework and quizzes are easy for the most part. Very laid back but yet very corky. The whole semester he didnt know my name. Final was difficult. i loved that he curves quizzes
blackboard discussions, mid term, final, paper. Very interesting teacher. Love his glasses and bike. He loves the topic and gets into it. Not too hard of a grader. No textbook but theres books you have to get to read for discussions.
Really cool guy. Lectures are entertaining and interesting. Lectures alone will not get you an A in the class though, however minimal effort studying the textbook is required to get an A (i however did not put any effort in). He does not use the textbook in class but you need it to study.
Dr. Armus is one of the best. You can't go wrong with a professor who starts off the class on the Black Death with Monty Python's Holy Grail. He usually used monographs or papers, so no boring textbooks. If he offers a course on any part of French history - take it. His quirky lectures make history come alive.
You don't have to go to class. He doesn't take attendance. Don't do the book reports ( He doesn't write down who does it) The only thing that is graded is your quiz grades (which is easy to cheat on)
Such an amazing professor, he never takes attendance, gives no homework or essays! His quizzes are super easy to cheat off of, & if you happen to be absent the day of a quiz he's very understading & lets you make it up in class. he doesnt referance the textbook in class but it's smart to get to study, oh & he gives out study guides for his quizzes!
Passionate. But some tangents go on for too long.
Very easy professor. Not strict, very smart and very passionate about the topic. Lectures are sometimes boring but i would deffinetly take him again.
He makes every lecture enjoyable. Though he's very laid back, he gets very passionate about history and wants to see his students learn. An easy A for sure.
I love Professor Armus, he was one of the most amazing history professors that I've had. He loves history and is super chill.
Dr. Armus is fantastic. His upper level Post-War Europe class was the first history class I had ever taken at the college level and it was taught in a way where I feel I learned a lot and there was not a tremendous work load. Take him if you can!
Prof. Armus is a great guy, passionate about history. Lectures can be very boring. Gives review sheets for quizzes but you HAVE to read the textbook if you want a good grade. 2 easy papers and final. Unless you are very interested in history, this class can be boring. Overall nice and caring guy, just be prepared to read the textbook to study
professor armus is a great professor. take him for western civ. he is basically a genius. he is so passionate about what he is teaching. there is no paper and no homework, and only three tests. you have to read two books, but just talk about them in class. he is super easy
Professor Armus is amazing. He is so passionate about European history, and is basically a genius if you ask him to elaborate. No papers, 3 mandatory books (just discussed in class), and 3 simple tests. As long as you show up and participate you'll do well.
Professor Armus definitely makes history interesting. I found him to be very impartial when it came to explaining historical events. We also spent time reading some primary sources which were very interesting, nothing intense. The class is fairly easy as he gives you a study sheet with concepts and events to focus on.
He is a funny man and does make the class more interesting with his humor. Class is very lecture heavy with readings assigned once a week. He has 2 papers based on books that we have to read but is a very easy grader. It says that a textbook is needed but I would not even purchase it because I have yet to open it with 3 weeks left in the semester.
Very easy and extremely passionate about history, mostly France. Kinda confusing on what he needs in terms of the syllabus. Often lose track of time which makes the test easy. There's some reading so make sure you participate. Brought my friend into class, did not even notice because he doesn't take attendance. Don't do the book assignment
Skips through power points back and forth its impossible to take notes. very passionate but disorganized, 3 weeks behind schedule. easy midterm, easy final and participate a couple times and you'll get an A. lecture days are beyond boring i caught up on my sleep and he doesnt take attendance so you dont have to show up unless its a test day.
Many quizzes given, but they are on sources given in the beginning of the semester. Very easy. Great professor, great class, easy A. Highly recommend.
Hes extremely passionate about France and history, but doesnt really care/teach in this course. Reading quiz every week on a short reading (worth 44% and question is so simple). Dont buy textbook, dont take notes. Book presentations can easily be done with sparknotes. Tests are easy the study guide is given in order of test questions. Trust me
Professor Armus is a nice guy who really enjoys history. Attendance isn't mandatory & all the assignments are a piece of cake. Just show up a couple of times for the source readings and do the book presentations (just use sparknotes) & you will easily pass this class.
Great guy & really has a passion for history! Weekly quiz on source readings and 2 book presentations + midterm and final, easy workload. Get this done and you should have an amazing grade at the end. He cares about his students and wants to see you succeed!!
Funny guy. Easy class, I skipped often. Tests are short but tricky if your not good at history, so study a little. Don't stress about the reading project things, he doesn't listen/grades, he just wants you to give your best shot.
Quizzes every other class that were based off of separate source packet, if you read them you did well. Professor Armus loves talking about France, especially the French Revolution so if you know your stuff be sure to speak up and add to the discussion. He probably won't remember your name but don't take it personally.
Professor Armus is passionate and knowledgable about his discipline and that is what makes him so great! He has lectures jam packed with information and silly dad jokes. Loved his class and would definitely take another with him!
Very nice professor, light class to take for HIS credit Little amount of work and review sheets for the final
