This class is a joke and not worth attending. He reads word for word what is on the slide as fast as he can, and all the slides are posted online. You have to swipe for attendance, but most people swipe and leave anyway since he doesnt seem to care at all. If you passed high school math and dont need to learn then take this class

Stay away from this teacher. Doesn't help out at all. Reads exactly whats in his power points without explanation. During labs he doesn't help and has TA's do it. They are also very unhelpful and do not know much. Looks like Doc Brown from Back to the Future.

Terrible. Teaches a class of 300 without a microphone that is right in front of him. No help whatsoever in Lab or lecture, yet requires attendance.

terrible teacher, NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS EVER. He goes so fast, you don't even understand what he is saying. You have to be really goo dat math if you want to pass this class.

If you like teaching yourself the material then take this guy, you will learn nothing in his lecture his TAs are more helpful than he is and he talks a million miles a second, goodluck if you get stuck in here

Lecture guides are worthless compared to the test, and he does not help the class prepare for the test. He talks super fast and what he does say is confusing. I would not recommend this guy at all.

Absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had. He talks so fast and expects you to understand what he says. If you get this class I would strongly suggest getting a study group because he is a terrible teacher.

I would not recommend this professor to anyone. He does not even help during labs or resuscitation. He definitely talks too fast and contradicts his statements. His writing is very sloppy and all over the place. If you take this class be prepared to teach yourself.

He started and ended class whenever he fancied. I sat up front, asked questions, and did all of my work. When I did ask questions, he got angry. His always told me to try out the problems, and if I couldn't figure it out, then come to him. I went to someone else for help. It's because of that other person's help I did well.

Worst math teacher I've ever had in my life. Went to the math learning center 2-4 times a week to understand material Seth "taught" us. Tutors taught much, much better than him. Class shouldn't be that hard but he speeds right through problems in the binder with no explanation. Highly recommend finding another teacher.

Absolutely the worst teacher imaginable! He just puts on the big screen some kind of math problem and then asks, "Any questions?" How can anyone have any questions when they do not know what the heck he was just talking about? He doesn't explain anything and then takes down the stuff on the screen too fast before you can copy it.

Just don't. If you get him run in the opposite direction. He's not a good professor. Sometimes he would show up 15 to 20 mins late and leave early. If you asked questions he'd get angry at you. The syllabus wasn't clear at all.

Seth Cole literally just stands up in front of class and lectures. When asked questions in class, he would just answer really quickly and not seem to care that we don't understand what he is saying. He isn't nice, and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He seems to not care about the students, and just wants to get aid for being a math teacher.

Professor Seth Cole is the rudest man ever. He will explain a slide and LITERALLY NOT EXPLAIN IT. If you ask to go back, he will serioulsy give you attitude and make you feel stupid. If you email him, he will NOT email you back. Do NOT take his class. Do not do math in the department, take it online.

Lectures are long and consist of him speeding through all the problems with no explanation of how to do them. Would not take again for all the money in the world. Worst professor I've had at WVU.

He is one of the worst professors i have ever had, he speeds through the power point slides and does not explain them thoroughly. He will not really help you and tutoring isnt all that great either. TRY TO CHOOSE ANOTHER PROFESSOR DO IT, YOU WONT REGRET IT.

I'm in deans list student and this is the first class I've ever received a D in. He isn't very clear and the material is very random. All of the work is online but I honestly learned what little bit I did from the question help in the website.

His lectures are sped through and unclear. Rude. Late. Fails to email that his 830am class is cancelled. I only passed thanks to labs and end of the semester extra credit. Same goes for multiple people who took the class.

He is awful, all he does is put up a power paint and read through it quickly where you can hardly take notes or understand. When showing examples he just does it and doesn't explain how to do it. Also sort of rude when trying to ask questions, will tell you to just email him.

Worst Professor I have ever had. I go to open lab for help, but it's never a success. I have stayed after multiple classes to get extra help but he just shoos me away. He doesn't even explain the content he is lecturing on. He speeds through every lecture and when I ask to slow down he doesn't. Don't take his class if you are not good at math.

actually the worst professor at wvu. this man speeds through lecutres because he doesnt have the slightest clue of how to teach. seth needs to go. i am an engineer and got all a's in my classes (like chem 115) yet I get a C- from this jerk

Seth Cole is not a good teacher. He tries to teach the material but fails because he explains it with calculus. The main homework program is ALEKS and that will teach you the majority of the class. There are 200+ topics to complete by the end of the semester so don't fall behind. Your completion of the topics influences your final exam grade fyi.

3.85 GPA. Felt like most the class never knew what was going on. He just stands up in front and rambles on. When explaining his work he will tell you multiple ways to solve the problem really fast while erasing all over the board and changing stuff around so its impossible to keep track of what the heck he is doing. Doesnt care if you understand.

80% of his teaching is verbal, and what he does write down doesn't makes sense b/c he does most of the math in his head and doesn't explain. The only reason I passed was b/c I purchased a math book and taught myself. If you end up with him, just know you're gonna be fighting a lot harder for a passing grade than people with other teachers in 128.

Mr. Cole is the worst professor I've ever had at WVU. Don't bother trying to set up a meeting with him out of class to talk about your grade because he's not accessible. Doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner, SPEEDS through lectures, and relies on his multiple TAs to help him. Other people teach this class and are so much better than him!!!!

This class is all stuff that you would've learned in high school and all the exams are open note. Professor Cole has password protected quizzes at the end of every class. Overall it is easy but if you have a family emergency and cannot make it to class you'll probably fail from attendance, there are extra credit opportunities though.

Seth moves very quickly and doesnt explain things very well.

a lot of people in seths section of 121 is struggling. He moves so quickly you cannot keep up, constantly erasing and scribbling on the board. He does half of it in his head at super speed, and doesnt explain any of it. He just assumes you know it because he does. sarcastic, doesnt answer questions well, I taught myself the lessons using pearson.

i hate you seth. you ruined my life.

Seth Cole does not know how to teach. He's smart and clearly knows what he's doing, but there's so much going on in his lectures that it's hard to understand what he's explaining (if he even does explain).

Seth goes through lectures extremely fast and barely explains himself. Me personally, I always sat in his class and by the time I finally deciphered his small explanation, he was halfway thorough the next topic. I eventually quit attending and withdrew because it was nothing but frustrating.
