easy to unfderstand medium grader.

ok... the thing that sux about him is that he makes us read the material.. also he marks you down for the smallest thing ever, but his teaching style's ok he's pretty chill
awesome!!!!!!!
Really helpful, fun class to be in and an overall nice guy. Good office hours and ability to stop by for help anytime!
He is a really fun teacher and makes it exciting to come to class. But he is really busy but his looks makes up for it.
This instructor is not for someone who struggles with math! He relies too heavily on the tutoring center and other class members. This can be very distracting and misleading information. For those who enjoy a hip instructor and lots of socializing, I recommend this class, other wise it would be better if you found another instructor.
He is oh so fine!.... not to mention really good at making hard things seem easy. He is a great teacher!!! Pre-cal is hard and I learned so much from him. He takes the time to explain things and he just has this way of doing it that makes it click...... He also dresses better than anyone I know! He is wife is sooooo LUCKY hehehe....must see to beli
Excellent teacher. Extremely dedicated. Uses class time well, clear instruction. Respectful and funny. Very flexible and accomodating with help outside of class.
Awesome teaching style. Keeps it interesting and gives multiple explanations on theories. He's a good communicator. I did the best in his class out of all the teachers i've taken at MHCC.
Seth is a great teacher. He is available during his office hours and stresses coming to see him if you need help. He is easy to understand and willing to break it down more if necessary. You have to do a lot of reading but he covers it all very well.
Seth is a great instructor. He is very helpful and willing to help. He is available for his office hours and he stresses you coming in to see him if you need help. There is alot of reading homework with assignments but he covers the material very well.
Seth is a very good instructor. He grades fairly and accurately and is a lot of help. Always available for his office hours. Very friendly and approachable.
Great instructor who makes learning math fun and understandable. He is very good about giving examples of how to apply math to everyday life. Very fair about his grading, you get what you put into it. Overall a great teacher!!! I highly recommend!
BEST teacher I have had at this campus so far. Funny, witty, good-looking, and knows his stuff. He's the full package. Take him any chance you get!!!
Hands-down THE most amazing professor I've ever had. He had full availability, is able to explain the same thing in several different ways so anyone can understand it, good looking and friendly, personable yet professional, funny, nice, flexible -- the total package! Such a great person and educator. Take him whenever possible!!
Amazing teacher! I tried to get him in all of my other math classes with no luck :( Very helpful, explains things well and makes sure you understand them. Highly recommend taking him any chance you get! Also he's definately not oo hard on the eyes!
Uses a lot of examples. Doesn't tend.to call on raised hands, but usually because he senses your question and is about to answer it. If he doesn't answer it just call out your question.
This is my first time having this professor and he is AMAZING! He was recommened by other students and I am so glad I got in his class. He explains it all very clearly and is very reasonable with his grading.
Great teacher except he relies on the students to help you a lot. Plus he grades you based on how well you do the work his way. Only take the class if you are new to the subject.
Seth is a fantastic teacher and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He has his own way of teaching, and went over all the questions you had on homework at the beginning of the class its due. Also, VERY helpful one on one during his office hours if you need it. Rate 10/10!!
gosh, you guys at MHCC are lucky. this guy is teaching at 3 different places, and he treat students from different colleges differently! pcc students cannot get his email response in weeks. no wonder! i have to transfer to mhcc if i want to be treated well by him. sleep well, seth...
I was terrified of math classes but Seth is a fantastic instructor, I wish I could take him for all my math classes. Love his teaching style - goes over homework every morning and works thru problems in class, available for office hours and is an all around likable guy. Thanks Seth!
I do not like math. Seth made the class enjoyable and was more than willing to help us when we had difficulties. I was genuinely surprised that I got an A. Algebra takes practice, practice, practice. That translates to homework, homework, homework. I highly recommend taking any math class from Seth Eikrem.
VERY FUN, MADE LEARNING MATH EASY
Seth is a great instructor! He is super smart, communicates effectively, and keeps you prepared for the exams. He is always available for any additional help if you swing by his office. And As a bonus, he is quite good looking!
He is kind of rude to older people. He is a good teacher though. One of the tests did not have much that he taught in class though.
worst teacher ever
He knows his stuff when it comes to math and is available for help in his office. he is very anal about his grading and grade on the way he teaches if you know other ways and don't do it his way you will be counted down on tests.
Great communicator, responds to emails quick and is willing to work with you. Not too bad on the eyes either!!
respectful, kind, helpful, good communicator, very organized, well-prepared, fair grader with good comments on papers
he's really rude to anyone that does in class participation
Awesome math teacher. First time I've ever gotten an A in math in my entire life!
spends equal time on teaching and helping students during class, easy to read on blackboard, easy to understand examples, encouraging and helpful and pleasant. Respectful of all his students.
Very fair teacher. Do the homework, the assignments, and put in the effort to learn. Willing to work with you if you need help.
THE GREATEST teacher ever. All the good comments are right, but the bad ones are totally wrong. I plan on taking him again all the way to Statistics. And yes pretty good looking too.
Very clear direction. There to answer any questions. When he puts demonstrations on-line. Check them out they help a-lot
This course was extremely difficult but Seth was always there during his office hours to help. His handouts were really helpful because they built up to what we were doing in the book and made a lot more sense than what was in the book. I'm terrible at math and I think this teacher was half the reason I passed this class.
Easy to understand and goes over all of your questions with no hesitation
Awesome teacher. Im wating for him to teach math 65 for me to take it. tests are not to hard homework is a breeze. I had to miss quite a bit of class and I still passed. Clear instruction. Really wants you to pass the class. There for you during his office hours. Super funny also not to hard on the eyes :) Recommend him to anyone.
He is a nice and respectful Instructor. He doese not allow extra credit unless you are borderline A-B (if you are getting a high B and want an A then you are able to do an extra credit assignment).
Seth is a great teacher. You can tell he loves his job. U probably won't like him if your there to text on your phone or talk to friends. If you want to learn math take a class with Seth five stars.
When you have a different learning style it is challenging with his teaching style, but if you work hard you'll pass. Other than that he goes over the hw problems, and wants his students to succeed!
Seth is a great teacher! Statistics is hard enough, but Seth really lays everything for the term out in the syllabus. There is a lot of course work, but since it is laid out week by week it's really easy to manage. The course material is pretty tough, but Seth is always available to answer questions. He is quick at grading and answering emails too
Great professor! Took him for one term and had a great time. He explains things very well and gives good feedback if you can talk to or email him.
There is homework everyday. Missing multiple classes make it extremely hard to get caught up. There is an expectation that you will figure out a lot of the homework on your own, then review a few problems the next class. He was available as much as possible to help outside of class.
He is a fantastic teacher and will help you understand concepts by going through them step by step. Expect to be ready to actively participate in class, ask questions and engage in your learning and he will help you. He often will arise you of your grade during the term so there are no surprises at the end.
I freaking suck at math. It is not my subject at all! But after taking Pre-Calc with Seth I feel a little more confident. Although it felt as if the math gods were against me passing this I managed to get a C. (I literally lost and forgot my calculator on 2 test) LOL, anyway, he's a great teacher. Very straight forward and he is always there!
I really enjoyed taking a class with him. He's an amazing teacher, explains everything well and is ready to help when needed. However he is a very hard grader.
Seth is great. He's funny, and puts the effort into teaching. As a student going back in my 30's I was really nervous about taking math classes. Seth made it not so bad. Even made me think I might not be as bad as I thought.
Such a great teacher!!! Enjoyed his class, he's hilarious and made math fun. Failed math 95 with another professor, but wow! I'm actually passing this class with an A, also a 5 week course also! He takes his time to thoroughly explain, although sometimes he wants you to meet with him for office hours to get help instead.
This Statistics is a very annoying class to take online because you spend half the time figuring out the online program that already has A LOT of mistakes. Professor responds to emails and questions well, but he does not put in a lot of effort to give us work beyond the online program. I have no idea where my $ was going.
Nightly homework assignments, and he goes over questions on it the next day. His teaching method is very clear and easy to understand, and he makes every student feel important. The tests aren't too hard if the homework is done every night. There were never any surprise questions on the test that we hadn't learned. He's a great teacher.
Seth Eikrem is one of the best Professors at this school and I would highly recommend him. Class every day was fun and he makes math super easy to understand and if you don't, you can ask as many questions as you want in class and he will do his best to help. Math homework is normal and the tests aren't that long or hard. Dont think twice.
Seth is great, but the online material makes it confusing at times, not to say the material is so hard but the online class makes it hard. Would rather take it in class, otherwise ; clear criteria, 5-6 quiz's in 2-3 weeks, 2 proctored exams total, Discussions online, gives a long time to complete hw. READ THE BOOK and DO problems it will help.
Great teacher, definitely recommend. Teaching methods are rock solid.
Took him for math class in the summer and give A lot of hw. He would say our exams would cover certain chapters and I would study all of them and he would put all of them. He didn't provide us with a review for the final. He's very funny and nice professor. Also in the summer we had to take both our exams & quiz together.
When it comes to math, I'm really dumb. I was really nervous about taking his class because I thought it was going to be difficult and it was, I hit some rough spots during the class. BUT! He takes his time going through the material and will answer any questions you may have and will do whatever it takes for you to really grasp the concept.
Hardest thing about the class was navigating the technology. Most of the material was available through Wiley and is very helpful if you watch ALL the videos in the lesson. I did find that Seth's efficiency to grade assignments was lacking though. For the most part, he responded to students questions quickly and was available during office house.
The class was something that you really do need to study for when it comes to quizzes and tests. The one thing that really bothered me was that he took a long time to get grades in, and the way the grading is set up is strange. It might have been much better if I didn't have to wait a month for 10 projects grades.
Really great! I would take his class again, for sure. when an assignment was easy, he offered extra challenges for me so that I felt really engaged in the class. Participation matters, and do NOT miss a class, or your grade will suffer. Do prepare for a decent amount of homework, but it's still do-able.
I was terrible at math before I took a class from Seth. He cares about how you are doing in the class and takes the time to explain. He also takes the time to get to know you and likes to joke around with students
Do the assigned readings and you'll be fine. I put in C effort and got an A. Lots of questions from the quizzes and other assignments are on the midterm and final so be sure to go over those. Can take awhile for him to grade assignments - the only real negative.
Seth is very thorough with explaining the lesson and is easy to contact & quick to respond if you have any questions outside of class. Punctuality, participation, and willingness to learn is key to successfully passing his class. Lots of graded homework and quizzes.
seth makes you print weekly packets to use in class and makes you buy a $70 textbook. dont take his class if you dont have access to a printer/dont want to waste money. he is also very vague when explaining math concepts and gives unclear answers when his students try to ask questions. exams are hard and does not do anything to prepare his students
I'm typically a straight A or high B student. However, when I took Seth's class I almost failed. He loaded his students with homework and there wasn't always an option to get feedback. I learn by getting immediate feedback in math, which is not his teaching style. He didn't define things well and didn't keep students updated with their grades.
I did not enjoy this professors class. He didn't really teach I felt. He kind of just said read the book and go at it. When ever I asked questions I felt like he didn't answer them.
Very boring and unclear in explanations. He makes the students print all of the packets and the exams have almost nothing to do with the practice.
One of the worse professors I have experienced.
Seth is a nice guy but do NOT TAKE HIM!!! If you need help his answer is always to go read the book. A lot of people have difficulty learning math by reading about it. I don't think he realizes that people have read the book and still have questions. He is available and returns emails quickly but that is not much help when he tells you to go read.
Be aware of his teaching style. A lot of the times we had new concepts shown to us in the homework, then the next class we would go over it together. So if you're not understanding the homework, that's okay because 9/10 times we're going over it as a class. Also, if math doesn't come easy to you, you will struggle in this class.
He emphasizes group work, so consider if you like that or not. He basically always demonstrated things first which I liked, but if you didn't have a handle on it already his explanations are kinda fast. His time management was good
His teaching method really helped me understand the material. If you do your homework and stay on top of everything, you'll understand the math no problem. I always struggled with math until I took this class.
The chillest of professors. Really accessible outside of class. Im not sure if its a professor thing or a MTH105 thing, but details are super important. It seemed like it didnt matter as much if you had the right answer, it mattered if you could show what the answer meant in the context of things.
Seth is a chill teacher. He isn't hard and is willing to go over homework. The test and quizzes aren't too hard if you practice and study. Their is a decent amount of homework, but doing it would serve you better on test day. Overall he's a good teacher. When i read bad reviews about him, it's feels like i have a different teacher.
Real funny dude, he makes class fun and lighthearted. Seth takes the time to explain concepts thoroughly so everyone gets it. He said we would do quizzes but we barely did. There was only like 2 graded problems and he let you rework them for more points. Easy class, just do homework, pay attention and you're set.
Seth was a great teacher! If I didn't understand something he would take the time to help me.
Seth is a good person overall, but when it comes to teaching or explaining, its terrible. He doesnt give a clear answer to questions that you ask, and he is pretty rude to students who need extra time and help with the criteria.
Seth is a nice teacher, who taught every subject in the book very well. There is a TON of homework, but it definitely helps in getting a good grade in the class. He lets you grade your own homework at the start of class which is also great. I would recommend him if you're taking a math class.
Seth is a really good teacher, I loved being in his class. He was very clear about what he expected from his students, but there was a lot of homework. He teaches very clearly, and is willing to answer any questions you have.
Seth is a great instructor to take for Beg .Algebra. He explains problems well and is willing to help outside of class. He cares that you pay attention in class and pass. Homework isn't necessary graded but is heavily recommended to do. A note card is allowed on each exam, but the exam will be easy if you pay attention and do the work. Great guy!
HES AMAZING! Hes so sweet and makes sure to explain everything good ! I didnt pass because i didnt study and i slacked so its my fault but if you study youll easily pass
Nice guy and never puts you down for trying even when you're wrong. But when you try to ask a question he responds with "Hm I don't know". Lot's of homework but it is not graded but you are not going to pass unless you do it. I felt like my questions never got answered. I felt lost the majority of the time. I wouldn't recommend him to a friend.
Very helpful and nice teacher, genuinely always very helpful when you need it, and often lets you redo things for half credit if you were close to the right answer, and overall a great teacher. I really don't like math, but I'd 100% have him as a professor again
Mr. Eikrem will respond to you as soon as he can when you need help with certain things. He's a great prof, and definitely recommend him!
Okay, instructor. Do your homework weekly, it's not graded however if not completed you won't get credit. Our class consisted of four exams, the final, and homework. He has excellent videos uploads for help. However, I did ask for help one week and was instructed to watch videos instead of receiving help from him.
I would definitely advise doing all the assignments and keeping clear notes on any topics that are difficult for you. The professor doesn't have much communication with you directly unless you reach out, but his teaching method is clear and understandable.
No matter what you do theres just a ton of work in math, HW isnt graded but you NEED to do it if you want to get through this. Remote class but Seth makes himself available and is a great teacher. I wish this class was in person but rewatching his videos and practicing along helps! Do-overs on many missed questions really helped me alot. He is kind
Fully online course. Homework 3x a week with specific due dates, test every friday that is proctored. If you make mistakes, you can fix them after grading to earn partial credit. Check your results because there isnt a way to really show your work on how you arrived to the answer so you're graded only on your answer to the questions.
He takes asynchronous very seriously. He grades homework based on if you did it as opposed to accuracy -so you really have to motivate yourself to do the work. If you are someone that needs your teacher to regulate you, this probably isn't a good class for you. Do the homework. If you slack off, then you will probably get confused later.
This professor is very average. You better be decent at math prior to taking this course, or you'll be lost. He grades you more on if you did the homework work rather than on accuracy. I don't agree with this method of homework grading. I didn't have too much difficulty, but a majority of the other students did.
Very nice guy and wants his students to succeed but not the best at explaining or teaching. He will provide videos on how to do equations but a lot of the time you are feeling like you have to figure out stuff on your own. If math is not your strong suit it's going to be a tough class.
Pretty easy to under, very understanding and gives you the opportunity to redo problems for partial credit. The assignments are graded on how much you try, not how much you get right. So if you just try you will do fine
I would recommend taking math classes from Seth to anyone. He is incredibly understanding and accommodating. This class had set due dates, but as long as you communicate with him he works with you. It was all online, with prerecorded lectures and you can do the class at your own pace.
Love Seth. Seth does a great job of teaching math, he knows his stuff & I'm never confused in his class. If you're stuck, he'll try to help. My advice, just be on top of everything. Seth assigns a lot of HW. If you get behind, it's hard to catch up.
He was a good teacher. If you do every assignment you will get a C- at least. Homework is due 8am Monday, Wednesday, Friday. The only reason I would not take again is because I work full time so it was hard to keep up with that with my work schedule. Otherwise, he is a nice guy. He gives good feedback. He does use lockdown browser for exams.
Got Seth for fall term and he is pretty nice. Just have to be on track and not fall behind. Ive managed to fall behind a bit on the last few weeks but still passed with an A.
Might be a good teacher in person, but if your taking online course your on your own.
Decent class. It's easy to fall behind and get overwhelmed by the amount of homework when you miss class. However, there are tons of online videos explaining the lesson and Seth usually does a recap of the lesson and homework in class. He's nitpicky about the small details on an exam, but it's an easy pass if you pay attention in class.
Do not take this online course if you work full time. This has very heavy homework 3x a week. This "online" class requires a physical book, a protractor, a ruler, and a scientific calculator. Avoid taking this course online
Lots of homework and be proactive with his online classes. They're designed essentially, to seek out what you don't know and may be confusing if you don't understand that.
Seth's class was one of the most homework intensive classes I have had since chemistry. The weight of your grade is also really test heavy- so even if you do all of your homework, you can easily flunk the class because of quiz or test scores (no retakes & all tests are taken with an internet blocker & webcam.)
Professor's professional abilities are slim. He doesn't care. Located in China (16H time zone difference). Emails from professor do not make sense.
Helpful professor who lets you redo work for partial credit. The remote format makes it challenging, but using unstuckstudy's AI tools alongside the textbook can really aid study prep.
His lectures were great, he would go over the homework first and answer questions. The Quizzes were ok but he would take points off for little tiny things despite getting the correct answer. He allowed one index card to use for the midterms and final.
Keep in mind, he is a tough grader, and doesn't let much work be redone, especially on tests. This is a pretty test heavy class, but the homework does does correspond. HW due M/W/F, and a quiz on Fridays, so expect some HW over the weekend. Other than that, he was available if I needed extra help, responds relatively quick, and explained well.
He is a pretty relaxed, chill teacher. Caring and attentive to the students (he notices students efforts and hard work), very responsive. Independent study - Students have to study the materials on their own mostly. You have to do all your homework (helps grade pull) and prepare well for exams - since he doesn't allow retakes. Quiet a tough grader
Don't let the lower quartile of his rating get to you, math is naturally more thought-intensive and requires constant practice. I'm honestly terrible at math, but Seth was super supportive and is really flexible with homework! Although, grade is FOR SURE dependent on your quizzes/tests. Other than having it at 8am, class was great
