Seth was a great teacher. The class itself is not as easy as you would expect, but as long as you do the readings and put effort into your speeches you will do well. It takes effort and you do have to study for the tests, but it isn't insanely hard. Seth is a really fair grader and more than willing to help you out, and he's just awesome.
Seth is a great teacher, but he is a tough grader. The class was a lot harder than I initially thought it would be. But as long as you do the reading and give good presentations you should be fine.
I took his CMS class at UT and Seth was great! All of the activities we did in class were fun and we could always have a laugh with him. Seth wanted to know his students as people (we weren't just a number). He is a genuinely kind professor and wants his students to succeed. The class was fun but you still have to work and participate for an A.
I think my issues with this course had a lot to do with the department and not the professor. Seth cares about his students and presents information very clearly. The tests were the same for every class in this course and so some information he wouldn't be able to prepare us for since he didn't write the tests.
Mr. Frei is the best! He's such a nice guy with a good sense of humor. I had his 3 hour Monday class and he made lectures interesting and we often got out early. I made B's on all the tests (they're tricky study a lot) but made A's on all the speeches to make up for it. Just follow the guidebook to a T and you'll be fine. Loved this class.
Seth is very helpful with his students. Lectures can be long but he makes them entertaining. This class requires effort, he definitely makes you earn the A. A lot of class discussions and group activities.
Helpful, funny, wants you to pass. Keeps his lectures entertaining and really tries to relate the material to his students and makes it easy for them to remember. One of the best and most inspiring professors I've ever had.
He's an amazing teacher who cares about students. More difficult to get an A than I thought (test are hard), but with work you can definitely do it.
Comm sucks in general, but Professor Frei makes it a little more enjoyable. He's funny, and tries to hold your attention. There's now a group speech instead of 2 individual. Do well on the projects and the paper and you'll be fine. I got 70's on my tests, but A's my paper and speeches and got a high B. He's a really easy grader. I highly recommend.
Seth is great! I don't particularly like this subject, but he makes this class about as interesting as it can be. He is a super fair grader, considering I'm not a talented speech giver. Just do what he tells you to and this class is an easy A. Most people find the tests to be hard, but the tests will be the same no matter what instructor you have
COMM 1310 was a class I really enjoyed, but I did have to work hard to receive a B in this class. The speeches are what really saved me. TESTS ARE TOUGH SO STUDY! But they aren't impossible. He is a very kid and understanding man though. I would definitely recommend this professor... also he has a cute personality and dresses nice every day.
Prepare to come to class everyday and listen to a lecture. Lectures are easy to understand and follow. Tests are straight forward. Read the chapters!!!
great experience
This was the first semester this class was offered at Texas State and I loved it! Seth and Cody were great! It's a lot of work and group work but nothing too challenging where you can't get an A! I totally recommend that you take this class or any other class he offers!
This class was by far one of my favorites
If you're interested in event planning, take this class! Professor Frei truly cares about his students and enjoys what he teaches. This was the first event planning class so it might change in the future but study the book because the test questions are directly from the book! You should definitely take this class and other classes he teaches!
Seth was one of my best professors(ever). Loved this class, it was such a great learning experience. Walked away with a new outlook and love for Event Planning. Seth is very understanding and overall just a great professor, wish I wasn't graduating and was able to have taken him more. There was a lot of group work- but wasn't difficult.
Super fun! Really cares about his students. If you study and read, you'll do great!
Seth is awesome! this was his first semester teaching this course and so we all came into it with hardly any knowledge. Putting on the Tedx event was really easy and that actually was most of our grades. The tests were kind of hard so you need to study.
Awesome professor and all around great guy! He makes the class very interactive and assignments aren't too bad either. I've had him for two classes and I would recommend him to anyone.
Seth is a pretty cool guy, but there's nothing super special about the class. It's all pretty standard and easy to pass as long as you're paying attention and preparing for tests/presentations. Please be prepared for class, though--he won't hesitate to take off points for a missing paper if he asked you to bring it prior to that class.
Professor Frei was an amazing teacher. Your book is going to be your best friend in this class, so make sure you purchase the book, as well as the guide book. He really likes to get the class involved in discussions and makes an effort to make sure his students do their best in his class. I would definitely recommend him!
My favorite professor this semester! This class was challenging at times but he was definitely an amazing professor.
Seth is a wonderful professor. He covers most of the basic concepts in class, but if you want an A on the tests reading the textbook is mandatory. From what I can tell, this being a university mandated course, there isn't much leeway with teaching this course. That being said, Seth takes you through the course with enthusiasm and caring.
Frei is very knowledgable and a great instructor. Make sure to read the power points and ask questions if need be and you will do fine on the tests. He is funny and truly cares about the subject. If I could, I would take his class again!
Seth is a good professor and makes his lectures easy to follow, listen, and learn from. You really don't have to ready the book, unless you're reviewing for exams and need answers.
This class really scared me because working in a small group has never really been a good experience for me before. Buttttt Seth did a fantastic job teaching this class! His lectures were engaging and his expectations were clear. 10/10 would recommend.
Seth is a great professor! I took him for my Leadership Comm class. He is understanding and makes it fun to go to class! Gives test reviews and extra credit!
He is a good guy, replies to emails and wants to help. LOTS of reading, and I mean LOTS!! Exams are using a 'proctor u' system and you are being watched while you take it. kinda difficult, must work for your grade. cannot use notes on exams.
He's wonderful!
Frei is a great! He cares about his students and sincerely wants them to succeed. His event planning class truly does prepare those who are interested in the subject as a career.
Great professor!!!!!
He doesn't post slides, but the material isn't hard. Get the book. All his material is exactly from the textbook. He is really laid back. Will work with you if you communicate with him. Nice guy.
Seth is such a sweet teacher ! Hes nice and personable. He makes the course work easy to comprehend and retain. Definitely reccomend for a professor!
Great professor, would highly recommend for any course he teaches! I took him for event planning, and would take it over and over again if I could!
Seth is a great professor and really cares about his students! The class is a broad scope into event planning and covers the basics of many event s as opposed to delving deeper into specific events. The assignments arent too difficult and are enjoyable to do. The tests are pretty tough read the book and do the review and you should be fine!
Hes a great professor, class is more of a casual atmosphere, and really interactive. Its event planning so youll actually be involved in planning events, hes a cool dude, take one of his classes, just do it okay.
I took the online 1310 class and Mr. Frei is amazing. The tests are a bit focused and require reading across all teachers (because of the department) but his mini-lectures and quizzes help reinforce most of the content you will see on the test and the guidebook review questions also help. Ive heard horror stories of other teachers. Take this one!
Professor Frei is an awesome professor! I had a hybrid MWF but we never met on Fridays. Class is not mandatory but I would go because we had in-class assignments. The assignments online are on connect (very easy). Exams are out of 50 questions and are average but they only count as 40% of your grade (4 exams). No exams are dropped! Final optional.
Very clear and makes the class easy
Awesome guy. He taught communication so he really knows his stuff about relationships between employers and employees. Gives extra credit, and theres only 4 exams. Homework is simple and he gives us a lot of good study material.. Go to class once or twice a week, do your homework and do good on tests and you will succeed in this class.
He really enjoys teaching and uses many outlets for you to make a good grade! He gives homework, in class points, reading assignments, and extra credit opportunities. Attendance wasnt mandatory and the homework is really easy. Over all a really good teacher and cares about the students passing and succeeding.
Homework is easy and very helpful. Do the learnsmarts. He gives online practice exams. Not the same questions but super helpful. Highly recommend him! Only 4 tests. They arent cumulative. No final. Gives a chance to make up 1 test during the final exam time slot. However you can only do that if you didnt take the test
This class is an easy A only if you get connect and do learnsmart assignments! Those are easy grades and he lets you miss 3 with no penalty. Same with in class exercises, attendance isn't mandatory but these are easy surprise in class questions that count for a grade. Test are easy, over 4-5 chapters and all material on learnsmart connect.
Easy! Took his hybrid class and I was happy with the amount of time we spent online vs the time we spent in class. He made the content manageable through small assignments that required each student to keep up with. It seems like the rest of the class was weirdly confused by the regularity of these assignments, but I just wrote them down beforehand
I took professor Frei for management this semester and he was amazing. Hes very organized and always gets the class involved in discussions to make the material more relatable for each student. Tests arent too bad, as long as you keep up the learnsmart/homework assignments and know the concepts in the PowerPoints than its an easy A!
Super chill class. Show up and listen and do the review and youre set. really easy class to understand and its put into simple sections and examples. Prof. Free doesnt try to make this hard and clarifies wherever you need it. Def would take again!
I took the hybrid course, so theres a lot of homework but thats expected. Never had class fridays and met in class 1 or 2 days a week. Attendance wasnt mandatory but there were 12 in class assignments to determine an attendance grade Lectures are good, but in order to do well on the tests you need to go through the book as well
Professor Frei was an outstanding professor! I thoroughly enjoyed my time in his class. He is simple and gets to the point. Attendance is NOT mandatory, but he does give random in-class assignments in which actually make you think about the material. 10/10 would take his class again!
Professor Frei is great. He makes class bearable, and his class is great when taken hybrid. I will take again if I can!!
Great Professor. Pay attention to due dates on learn smarts. Tests are pretty straight forward but not necessarily easy.
took this as a hybrid course, only had class once or twice a week. interesting lectures. Prof Frei is great at giving clear explanations of the material and exams follow lectures and pwpts closely.
There is homework over the chapter due before class and then homework after class. Does in class assignments but drops the lowest 2 out of 10 in case you miss class. Easy A if you do all the homework and do good on the tests. 4 tests, no final unless you miss exam 1, 2 or 3 then it can be taken during the final. Take him, not a hard professor!
I had him for a hybrid MGT3303 and the times we had class in person he would always make the lecture worth coming for and worth remembering. Always ties concepts to real world and gets you thinking with class questions. Hybrid part was super easy with a learnsmart and an activity that you can re-do until you get 100%.
Took class as a hybrid so we only had class about once every other week. The material to me was easy but most of it was commonsense/ boring. Majority of your grade comes from online assignments at which he takes your highest score out of 3 attempts. Also drops 6 of your lowest scores. Had 4 test in class, no final. attendance not mandatory.
Professor Frei is great! The course is very organized and if you stay on top of the homeworks and lessons theyll boost your grade up a lot!
Good professor, took the hybrid course so a lot of it is just up to you keeping up with the reading material.
Good professor. He lectures specifically for what is on the test and does not give useless information that you have to sift through. I would definitely recommend.
One of the best professors I have taken so far! I took his hybrid class and I don't regret it at all, easy to course overall. He is very caring and will do anything in his power to make the course for you. I definitely would take him again. 10/10
Good Professor. Lecture over whats important for test no useless information Attendance is not mandatory but he does give random in class assignments. Overall very chill class would recommend him.
Very awesome professor. I've really enjoyed his hybrid class. His classes are exactly what are on the tests, so if you go to class and study over the homework you will do just fine. Really caring professor as well, always asking for student feedback and suggestions. Attendance is important because in class assignments are a big chunk of the grade.
Cant say enough good things about this teacher, very cut and dry class, take the hybrid if you have the option and do the assignments and use his tips for studying you will pass. Also very patient and willing to listen to students suggestions and implements them within reason.
Amazing teacher! First semester and first class taken at Texas State and I really hope my other teachers are as wonderful as him! His class was awesome and the class participation keeps the environment flowing. Make sure to keep up with your homeworks online!
Great professor. Just homework from McGraw Hill and 4 tests. Study and you'll do just fine
One of the nicest professors I have ever had. Very reasonable grading system and all you need to do for the tests is study the powerpoints and he posts reviews on connect that are helpful. Definitely recommend.
Come to class, print the slides, do the connect. Get the book and go over chapter reviews. Easy class
He's a layback prof. You're given exactly the info you need to know. Makes the material interesting and has good humor. My advice - show up to class, do the online hw/quizzes, print the lecture notes, participate in class, and you're SET for an A. PLUS there is no final! Take, take, take!!
Good dude. I would enjoy having this professor again.
Great professor! Really nice and makes lectures interactive and engaging.
Great professor. Relatable, young and knowledgeable. Easy HW and tests are decent. Take him.
Really cool guy, great lectures and good at keeping it interesting. As long as you pay attention in class and do the learnsmarts and homework, you'll do fine.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but he'll do random in class exercises for points so you want to go and the notes we take in class are what you need for the exam. There's a lot of online homework for this class. Emailed him with questions and he responds fairly quickly! Great professor - would take again!
He is by far one of the best professors I've had so far. He is so interactive with his classes and makes going to class so much better because of his personality. Th class I took with him was hybrid and it was such an amazing decision. He typically drops 3 homework grades, 3 online assignments, and 2 in class-participations.
He was great!
good professor and person
He is a good professor, gives in class assignments that count towards participation at the end of the semester. He gives test and if you study his Power Points you should do fine. Overall not an easy A but if you study his Power Points and you do the online assignments then you should be fine.
Took Professor Frei for MGT3303 this spring semester here at Texas State. He is one of the best professors here. It is rare when you come across a professor who lets you make up exams, whatever the reason you might've missed, he lets you make one up at the end of the semester. There is no final. DO the learnsmarts, they're a big deal.
Seth is a really great person and cares about his students. It is rare that you find a professor who cares what his students think of him and whether or not they learn or not. He gives a lot of homework but it is an opportunity to bring up your grade. I got two c's on the tests and still got an A because i kept up with the homework. Very fair class
Great professor, really cares about his students! Keep up with the online homework, really helps with your grade. Go to class, take notes, and study those for tests. Easy class and he makes it not so boring.
Straight forward material, study PowerPoints and you are golden for the tests. Has in class assignments but you can miss 2 of them with no penalty
Easy class if you do the work. Showing up to class is hard but thats how you get participation points. Seth was super easy. He did his best to make sure everyone understood the material and how the homework was supposed to be done.
One of the best professors I had at Texas State! He always gives feedback on work, and returns assignment grades on time... it is a lot of work but would take him again.
Great professor. I enjoyed his lectures and felt the subject matter was relevant and applicable for any business environment. Lots of homework and a group project. I was lucky with my team, but my assigned lab partner, not so much. If he's teaching any of the courses I have left, I would gladly sign up for his class! Keep up with the work, easy A.
I took Dr. Frei's class as a hybrid in the summer, so everything was more accelerated, but you should have no problem as long as you don't fall behind! Pretty common sense material, but stay on top of your work. Dr. Frei is always willing to help, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
This class is by far one of the most boring classes I have taken at TXST. He reads straight off of the slides and his tests have lengthy questions that gave me a headache. I'm sure he wold be a better prof for any other class, but the material here is so dull and boring it made it hard to want to go to class. His grading criteria is in your favor
Great professor. Makes grading and homework clear. Great to take as a hybrid class if you have good time management skills. This was a basic management class everyone in the business school has to take. Exams were easy as long as you went over the slides and did the homework. Easy A if you put in the work.
Dr Frei runs a very well organized class. The Connect homework makes up a major percentage of your grade but he does drop a few. Overall an excellent professor and a must take for management!
This was a pretty chilled class, he has different group activities throughout the semester (usually never a grade) but it definitely helps you learn the material. Attendance wasnt mandatory but we randomly submit assignments which was used to count towards attendance. Online readying assignment due before every class and quiz after each class.
Dr. Frei is a great professor. Everything you need to know is on his powerpoints and on Connect. Review the slides and do the mock exams and you'll pass! You don't have to go to class but he does have in class quizzes that can make or break your grade. Also, DO THE ONLINE HOMEWORKS ON TIME. If you're productive and proactive, then you'll be set.
Dr. Frei is a great professor. He made management class interesting. He lets you know what is important and never throws you off guard on his tests. Overall great professor.
Dr. Frei is a funny, well-spoken, and caring professor. I enjoyed interacting with him. MGT 3303 is a boring class. During the typical class period, you will be "learning" from a publisher-written PowerPoint presentation and participating in the occasional in-class activity. If you do your homework and can recall information, you will get an A.
Dr. Frei is an amazing professor! He is very personable, educated about the topic and passionate. His course is set up very clearly. Attendance is not mandatory but he has in class activities that are part of your final grade. He is really open about communication, homework & assignments are online and exams are straight forward. Would take again!
A great professor!!! Always organized and made lectures interesting! Would def take him again!!
I am not in the school of business, but was required to take this course. I think Dr Frei does really well communicating and setting you up to succeed. I would take him again.
Great professor! Can't complain.
Overall great professor. his point-system grading is the best form of grading I've had through my three years of college. As long as you do the LearnSmart and Homework assignments (not hard got 100's on all of them) and get a low B on all of the exams you are pretty much guaranteed a B in the class, and likely to get an A. Definitely take him!
Professor is pretty interesting and keeps the class engaged during lectures. The class requires quite a bit of homework and in class exercises, but nothing is too difficult. If you show up, read, and pay attention it's an easy A.
Loved having Professor Frei. Easy to relate to in class, takes time to make sure students are able to understand material, and applies it to real life situations.
What you would want in a Professor. Clear, cut, and straight to the point. As long as you keep up with whats going on in class minimal you should receive as a grade is a B. Anything less you weren't putting enough effort in.
Enjoyable class! Class isn't mandatory but there are in class assignments that count towards your grade. Lectures are interesting and he makes the information understandable by relating it to real world examples. There is lots of class participation which makes the time go by fast. Great professor!
Solid professor, funny and likable. Made the material relatable. Not much extra credit, but homework assignments help your grade. Shouldn't have many issues in class.
Dr. Frei is one of the best professor I've had. He makes things clear and easy to follow. He's super nice and will help you out if you need. Both attendance and final are optional. He's definitely one of my favs!
Overall good professor. Assigns weekly homework. Attendance is not necessarily required, but he does assign random graded in class activities for a grade.
One of my favorite professors at TXST. Lectures are enjoyable, relatable, and well organized. Besides exams, you are graded on completion of a few in-class exercises as well as the LearnSmart modules and homework on Connect. If you keep up with the online due dates and review LS practice questions and PowerPoints before exams, you're golden.
Easy peasy class! Just don't forget about the online homeworks!
Dr. Frei is a great Professor! During a given Lecture he would cover about an entire chapter. He would ask us questions to keep us engaged and focused on the material. The other major part of the course was doing the connect chapters and homework! To study for Tests: go through the specific power-points and take the connect practice exams
I took this class as a hybrid and struggled with time management, which is completely on me. However using Connect was a great way to learn the material. Also there are assignments for nearly every class period, so you definitely need to come to class! It wasnt a hard course, you just need to be ready to have self-discipline.
I took this class as a hybrid and it was very beneficial. Dr Frei is very clear about his grading standards. Do the online work, ICE, decent on tests, you will pass. I would recommend it to anyone.
One of the best professors I've had!! Would highly recommend taking him, he sets up the course in a way that allows you to excel. Keep up with weekly assignments and it's an easy A. He does have a few random in class activities but you can tell when you're going to have one. He makes learning the material fun and applies it to the real world.
He offered a lot of extra credit. Makes it realistic to pass his class without strictly relying on test grades. He wants to see you succeed in his class and more importantly in the business world. Highly recommend him!!
First semester at Texas State, I was nervous. BUT, I'm supper glad I took him for management. Super friendly, want students success, and will also be available during his office hour, if I had any questions. I would defintly take him again, if I can.
He's very easy going and clear with the assignments and homework. If you do the assignment and homework you will do well on the tests. He really provides you with all the information you need to succeed.
He was such a great professor! Lectures were always interesting and he provided the PP notes to study prior. Guidelines are pretty clear on the syllabus and so it's easy to follow, we used Connect and that was pretty easy. Deadlines are reasonable. You have to read a textbook ch. before so make sure you don't miss those bc they add up at the end.
He is a great professors. You have to remember to do the online activities though. He is very helpful
If you have to take any management class take professor frei. This guy is awesome, his class is an easy A. Just skim through the text book and youll pass with an A.
cool dude
Great teacher, attendance not mandatory, but do have in class assignments. Provides online review questions for tests, pp slides helpful for test. Take him!
I took his class as a hybrid and I highly recommend it! He is very clear with the material he covers and what will be on the test. He really cares about his students. I would definitely take him again!
Professor Frei is very passionate about his job and it shows in his teaching. He makes his lectures interesting and likes involving the class in the discussions. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does in class exercises every so often which is a lot of your final grade. Read the powerpoints and you'll pass the tests.
Professor Frei was an amazing professor, he always listened to the students and actually cared about them like he wanted them to learn the material. The material wasn't that hard, 4 exams are accounted and majority of the homework and quizzes were through connect, so those were easy passing grades.
tests are easy to study for because he gives you the lecture notes from every chapter and plenty of resources to do practice questions that are very similar to test questions. Also, he is really good at giving real life examples to the material, so if you listen in lectures you should learn what you need for the tests.
Seth is a great guy, and very likable. What I really appreciated, though there was quite a bit of it, homework counted for about 50% of your grade, so if you dont do very good on an exam, youll still be fine! No reviews, but STUDY THE VOCAB. Thats what his tests are based on. I didnt figure this out until after the 2nd test.
Great professor really cares about students learning the material, test are straight forward look at power points and your all good.
Hes a great teacher but I just couldnt make it there at 5 oclock, shouldnt have let the counselor do my schedule, but anyways this teacher is great person and truly is a great lecturer! Do the connect homeworks, itll pay off in the end.
VERY GOOD clear and organized show up and do connect assignment and you'll pass
I actually took MGT 3303 with him and it was good. One of the best professors at txst.
Dr. Frei is a knowledgeable, enjoyable, and fun professor. You will genuinely enjoy going to his lectures and learning from him. He makes it easy.
Dr. Frei has been one of the best professors I've taken at Texas State. He's knowledgable, approachable and funny. He tries to keep his lectures short and to the point and lets class out early if he's done instead of dragging it on. He is engaging and likes participation in his class. Tests are not hard as long as you study a bit.
Frei is the nicest professor I've ever had! There's a learnsmart and a homework for each chapter so there's a lot of buffer for bad test grades. He doesn't take attendance but he has random in class activities for a grade so keep that in mind. There's also no final for this class.
All homework is online via Connect, which is really straight forward. Read the chapter/powerpoints, do your assignments, participate in class, it's a GPA booster if you put in the effort.
Class was easy, literally didn't study for any of the tests and got an A. Attendance isn't mandatory but you miss out on "ICE" participation points if you don't go to class. Lectures are generally interesting, he doesn't care if you follow along on your laptop or w/e. Would take his class again
Easy class if you do the HW which is where most of the points are
Great prof. Would def take again. Clear grading criteria, but lots and lots of homework. Make sure you do it on time because he will not reopen it. Scan the book at least, it is sort of helpful during exams. Powerpoints are your main study tools. He's caring and nice and easy to approach. Main thing: TURN IN YOUR ASSIGNMENTS.
Great Class
good class
He is a very good professor. Easy to talk to and explains everything very well. I took his hybrid class so I only had to attend class one day a week, which made it very easy to get assignments done.
Took hybrid class. Class is really easy to pass with an A as long as you keep up with all the online assignments, which are easy as well( just time consuming). Extra credit is offered which can help if you miss a deadline for an assignment . 4 exams that are easy as well( just read the slides he shares). Overall great class
Cool dude, keeps you engaged in the lecture by showing videos, asking questions, and giving relevant examples. He gives out short tests every 3 chapters which is actually nice and less stressful than you think. Solid choice.
Professor Frei is very nice and tries to help in every way he can! The class isnt too hard just do the homework and assignments and show up to the in class days and you will do fine
Amazing professor. There is a lot of homework but it is super simple. He truly cares about the students and makes the class very engaging. You will learn a lot and class will fly by because he is not a boring professor! Take him, you wont regret it!
The class isn't difficult if you keep up with the online assignments. Make sure to do the extra credit because it really helps. If you really read the online chapters, the exams aren't that difficult.
No complaints
Dr. Frei is a solid teacher with a great attitude and handles the hybrid/online course very well. He gives a few extra credit opportunities as well as ample time to complete all your assignments, the homework/assignments are important to your grade but do not take lots of time to complete at all and still help get you all the information you need.
Tests can be tricky but not impossible. Just be sure to do all of the connect homework/assignments. Would take again!!
If you're looking for an easy management class take this professor!!! I took his class as a hybrid and we only met in class once every few weeks for lecture and to take the tests, everything else is online. If you're good with time management this should be an easy A, just keep up with the online HW and assignments.
One of the easiest classes I've taken at TXST. Do online assignments on time, study a little, and you're set. There isn't even a final so that's cool.
AMAZING PROFESSOR! So sweet, helpful, and all around knowledgable. His online lectures are quick and great for the test. Only downside is soooo much homework, do it all and it's an easy A.
Great professor that cares
Do all of the homework and course work. Frei is a great prof. Great at giving examples, does an awesome job at explaining topics, and overall cares about his students.
Professor Frei was a great instructor. He was passionate about the course material and put forth effort to make class interesting. His grading policies were clear and left room for a couple of missed assignments. He taught from the book, but added his own twist to it in order to keep students engaged and to relate it to the real world.
Frei is one of the best professors Ive had at TXST! All of the hw is online and you get multiple attempts, so you can get a 100 on all of them. Most of the class is structured around class discussions tied to lecture material, he offers multiple extra credit opportunities, and the tests are super easy if you read the book at least once.
I would definitely take him again. He had a lot of homework but it made you get a better grade than just the tests. Lots of tests. Attendance wasn't taken but he had random assignments due that acted as attendance.
15 chapters to cover if your on top of your learn smarts and in class exercises and do decent on your 5 test no reason to not make a B or higher.
Frei is a good professor. His lectures aren't hard to sit through because he engages with the class and offers opportunities to talk with classmates about a topic relating to the lecture. Tests are directly related to lectures and learnsmarts. Do Connect assignments, show up for 'pop quizzes/assignments' and some slight studying for an A/B!
Professor Frei is AWESOME! His class is interesting and the tests cover exactly what is on the power points. No surprises. He assigns easy McGraw Hill Connect assignments that boost your grade(drops 3), offered us 3 extra credit opportunities, randomly assigns "In Class Exercises" to count attendance(drops 2), lectures are INTERESTING & ENGAGING.
Frei is one of the best at TXST. Study everything on his posted slides for exams, do the homework (you get several attempts and its SO easy), learnsmarts, show up, participate every once in a while, and you'll get an A. He gives a few extra credit opportunities. His lectures are good and he gets everyone involved. 10/10 recommend this prof
Passably, the best professor at TXST, i'm a big fan of such people Students usually care about a professor who can teach material well, but he has a great personality as well. So, well educated, personality, and he knows how to engage students in class discussion. Homework and overall class work is straightforward if you are there to succeed.
Great professor because he is just so organized and clear with his instructions. We had an online simulation and that was probably the best thing about the class. Exams were not designed to be tricky or overly wordy. Learning the vocab is half the battle--you actually have to know how it applies in a management type scenario.
Dr. Frei is a very good professor, his class was very interesting and well organized with clear grading criteria and good feedback to students. He is a fair grader and gives points for the questions that most students missed during the test. His business simulation helped me understand what it takes to run a business in the real world.
Professor Frei is an amazing professor, he made the University pay for students to play the GoVenture business simulations, which I kind of hesitated at the beginning but ended up loving because they look at every aspect on how to start and manage a business. Overall his class was organized and interesting. I would take him again for sure!
Great professor
Would recommend this class and professor. He was very understanding that this was a summer class and that the students have jobs or vacations. The lectures were not necessary if you did your reading the night before, but the second part of class was working with your groups on the business stimulation. The exams focus on the readings and homework.
I would highly recommend taking Dr. Frei for Management. His class was very easy to follow due to the structured lessons posted on tracs. Exams were challenging but as long as you completed the connect and read through the chapters you pass. We completed an online business simulation and it was by far the best part of the class!
Good teacher
This class was easy and kind of fun and if i can pass the class YOU can pass the class. Just do your work and you will pass. You learn a lot in the class because its easy information and you don't have to stress too much on trying to retain the information because its going to stick regardless. I shoot for C's typically but i got a B in this class
Upbeat guy, loves conversation and encourages you to push yourselves. Great prof. overall!
Do not take this class. You will have to do a business simulation in a group and it is horrible. Grade is based on how well you do in the game. Also, the tests are hard.
His class says it meets on campus, but it's online 75% of the time, which is awesome. Make sure you understand the simulation and do your online homework, and you'll do fine. He respects your time, he's nice, and when he does lecture it's easy to understand. Only warning, the homework is Always due on Monday at 9am, but it's not so bad. Would rec.
Great class. I took the Hybrid version and thought it was a well balanced class, in terms of self studying and lecture. There is a group business simulation as well as an individual one.
Prof. Frei was a devoted professor. One of the main parts of this class is the goventure assignments. I was not a fan on how the grading worked for this assignment, but if you perform well and take the simulation serious, your grade should reflect fine. The exams are not the easiest but there is a take home/online final that helps. Lots of extra!!
I was in the hybrid section of this course, and I thought it was a solid choice. However, lectures are only 50 minutes, so often we would not get through all the material and would have to learn the rest for homework. You're expected to teach yourself many chapters that are covered on the exam but not in class.
Hes an easy class but as a mentor or point of reference he doesnt have any management experience under his belt
Very great at explaining and very knowlegable of course
His management class is very easy. The worst part is a group project, but as long as you meet all the deadlines you'll pass that portion. Its a lot of simple busy work and easy tests,
I highly recommend taking this class. Very easy to succeed as long as you do the readings and pay attention to lectures.
I think that he is a good professor and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a business class.
I think that he is a good professor and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a business class. He is very knowledgeable and is very good at explaining what is expected, how to do it and able to answer any questions.
A good teacher just make sure to really read the material or you won't pass the tests, take notes too while reading it'll help.
Originally I wasn't sure about him, but I learned to appreciate him. He cares about his students, and wants to see them succeed. I was worried about getting a B in the class, but ended up with a 95. The simulation he gives is actually interesting, and i enjoyed it even though my team performed poorly. He is a solid choice.
Prof. Freí is amazing! Youll be assigned into a group and do a business simulation that is worth 20% of your grade, so be sure to stay on top of that. Homework due every day or so. No class on Friday :) Homework is easy. Exams are not difficult if you make a study guide based on his slides or the book. Easy A unless youre just a lazy mf.
I really enjoyed this class and learned a great deal of information.
Dr. Frei is a sweet guy, loved having him for Management! His tests are kind of hard but, they are open book/notes. The simulation game wasn't the best and was kind of difficult and very time-consuming. Overall, really nice guy and would recommend !
Professor Frei was great. He genuinely wants his students to do well. I had a family emergency before one of our exams and he responded super quickly to my email and helped me reschedule my exam. I took MGT3303 as a summer course and it was really rigorous (as are most summer classes) but Dr. Frei made it interesting and was as helpful as possible
Very sweet. Tests were kinda confusing because I wasn't sure what to expect. He didn't specify what might be on the tests or how the tests will be. Regardless, I will take again.
Dr. Frei gave good weekly updates but since the class was asynchronous he really didn't do much besides that. You communicate more (and do more assignments with) your lab instructor so choose them wisely! Connect assignments and McGraw-Hill exams in the "main" part of the course, both of which were open note and very easy.
Professor Seth is a great professor who makes the class as simple as he can make it. If you give effort and do the readings you will easily pass the tests which are weighted very heavily in this class.
3 or more assignments every week. The assignments are very lengthy. It feels like he forgets we have other work too. 2 exams and a final. Tests are open note and 70 questions long. There are some group assignments. Idk why professors give group projects especially now. I would take Frei despite giving a lot of work and making it lengthy.
Took Mr. Frei for MGT of Organization online. There were only a few zoom meetings, at which he took attendance for a grade. Very much a teach yourself kind of class. One group project we worked on through most of the semester. The project seemed pretty disconnected with the material we learned in the class. Average professor, overall not too hard.
Dr. Frei is a super cool guy. The class consists of smartbooks & assignments due every week and 3 exams. There is also a semester-long group project. Overall, the class is fairly easy but you definitely need to put in the work for exams if you want an A.
Dr Frei made this online class very organized and easy to follow along. Some zoom meetings and some just watching lectures/on your own. One semester long group project which I found to be pretty fun. Long connect smartbook/homework assignments sometimes multiple in one week, but mostly due to the snow storm.
Hands down one of the best courses I've taken at Texas State. He is a kind and caring prof that is really invested in his students and the class. It's a pretty straight forward class that is an easy A as long as you complete your assignments and pay attention to the material being taught. I also recommend giving it your all on the simulations!
This class should be an easy A, but I had a computer malfunction and missed a deadline. Dr. Frei was very understanding with me and let me make up another assignment without counting it as late but one of the assignments had to be by that time. With COVID and the snow-vid Dr. Frei was super flexible and helped us adjust well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Tests are hard. The class is well-rounded. Study for your exams and you'll be fine.
He is an Awesome teacher !! He makes sure you understand and is very helpful.
Dr. Frei is a great teacher who really cares about his students doing well in this course as well as doing well in life. The assignments weren't difficult at all but it did take some time to read and answer the questions. Overall easy course with a great professor.
This online class is 80% self pace. You usually have two assignments on McGraw a week and then you have to do a group project for a business simulation that has a deadline every week. If you put in effort and do all the work, you should at least get a B. Professor Frei is a great professor and will answer any question you ask.
amazing lectures
If you have to take this class, take him! He is the best and made this class easy if you just follow what he has to say. Just do the work and you will get an A. There is a good amount of extra credit as well.
Only one group project which isn't bad at all. The homeworks aren't hard but they do take some time. Just show up to class and and listen and you'll be fine. Seth is a good guy to his core so if you are struggling he will help you.
Know the definitions conceptually because that's 90% of the test questions and not covered in the review sessions. The smartbooks take more time than anything else (42 questions that must be correctly answered 3 times). Dr. Frei is busy because he's a great professor so be prepared to wait a day or so for him to get back to you.
He is a great professor and cares about his students education.
I took him as a Summer class so everything was super quick which made things a little harder but that's expected. He's been my favorite professor so far at Texas State. The work isn't hard it's mostly just definitions and the group project business simulation was actually pretty fun. You'd love this professor you won't regret taking him.
I took this class as a Summer course so everything was a lot more condensed. He assigned connect homework and a quiz every day with a test once a week. He posts video lectures and met in a live zoom session once a week. Very organized and helpful. The group project was a nuisance. I didn't learn anything from the project. Overall, easy A.
Dr. Frei is a phenomenal professor. I took his course for summer 2021. His online course was super easy and his syllabus is clear and accurate. He is always open to questions and responds quickly by email. Oh and also he has a fun group project by doing a weekly simulation of a business throughout the semester. You won't regret taking his class.
Loved him. He is organized, group project is not bad at all, attendance counts as grade, lots of extra credit opportunities. Everything learned was beneficial and he is not a boring lecturer. Take him! Stay on top of assignments and you will do great.
Dr. Frei makes this class very enjoyable. The homework for this class is through Connect so it can be very time consuming but is not difficult. The class project is a business simulation and is a group project. I usually hate group work, but this project was really fun and I learned a lot.
our class was huge but he made sure to get to know everyone and he actually cared about your wellbeing. the syllabus was very clear and went by the same schedule each week which was helpful. it was not hard, all you had to do each week was complete a smartbook and do the assignment linked with it through connect.
Online class was very easy with learning clearly laid out. Weekly online assignments in the textbook that were long but fairly easy. Tests covered material that he covered in class so no surprises there. Group activity involving a business simulation, but plenty of class time was given so your group could meet.
Dr. Frei is a great teacher, super laid back and very nice but the group project killed this class for me. You will be required to do a business simulation with other classmates but unless you know a thing or two about business you will probably struggle with it. The homework is also very involved and due every week, generally took me 2 hrs to do
If you fail his class you obviously wasnt doing anything.
Dr. Frei is the peoples champ, I would definitely take him again. He's better than other MGT professors. No kidding
1st semester back on campus after COVID. He has the usual busy works with McGraw-Hill connect, he helps you set up a resume and your LinkedIn account. Exams are over the classwork, so pay attention in class and you should be able to get an A on the exams, there are 2 group projects, same group semester-long, get a good group or you are SOL. 10/10
Dr. Frei is a great professor. He really wants students to succeed so he does his best to give constructive feedback on assignments. It is a lecture heavy course, but he is very engaging and makes them interesting to listen to. There are a lot of assignments but most are small and are an easy way to help boost your grade.
I liked that all resources were made available to students.
This is my 2nd time taking Dr. Frei and I would recommend him to everyone. He is a great professor, gives great lectures and always keeps in mind that people have lives outside of his course. The workload for this course is normal. The assignments that we do in the course are applicable to the workplace and life outside of college. Take Dr. Frei!
Great Professor, really encouraged participation and made lectures interesting.
Professor Frei is probably one of my favorite professors at Texas State by far. He really cares about his students health and is willing to work with you to make sure you can get your work done. I also loved doing the Business simulation group project which counts for a majority of your grade.
Professor Frei is an amazing professor and really cares about his students and that they understand everything. He always goes over every assignment due each week and thoroughly explains it as well as asking questions to engage with his students. Hes funny and he genuinely loves his job and being able to help and talk to his students. I recommend!
Professor Frei made this class really easy and simple. Definitely take if you have the chance
Great proffesor class was an easy flow and he was very engaging .The group project is a big chuck of your grade . Lots of assignments but easy . Exams questions were situational not definitions so you had to know the material. If you have to worry about other classes take this one .
Nothing to really complain about with the professor. Overall, enjoyed my time in his class and he taught well and I feel I learned much in my time here.
Easy class if you read the textbook and pay attention in the once a week classes. Group simulation project was pretty simple.
Very helpful and caring towards all students. Lectures easy to following and loves answering all questions.
Professor Frei is an excellent professor, I am so glad I had him as an instructor for my Management of Organizations class. Do the work and you're sure to pass and grasp the content well.
Professor Frei uses the online connect system and if you read the chapters and take notes, the questions at the end of the chapter will be easy. Tests are all based on the chapters, so if you read and pay attention you will pass this class.
Professor Frei was a wonderful instructor, I was very lucky to have him. Do the work and you are sure to pass and grasp the content.
He knows what he is talking about.
Awesome professor, he makes lecturing interesting. His exams are difficult. Gives very few extra credit.
Very organized professor. A lot of extra credit opportunities based on attendance.
Uses connect for readings and class attendance was mandatory for the hybrid class on mondays only and asynchronous for W,F. Take great book notes and lecture notes to succeed.
He is really nice and gave lots of assignments which help your grade as long as you do it. The group project was pretty easy and is just a simulation of a business. Overall you should take him over other professors.
Eassssy money class
Very intelligent professor, knows what he is talking about in each lecture. He is also extremely organized with everything.
Super nice and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities:)
Super awesome professor! Knows his material and is super helpful with any questions or feedback.
Great professor! Class was interesting and very easy, the homework is time consuming.
Very clear instructions for assignments and makes it easy for you to succeed. Just prepare to spend a lot of time doing weekly assignments
pretty easy to grasp material. professor explain content well
Good lecturer, alot of homework. Perhaps too much only one thing a week, but just 43 concepts which you have to get right 3 times and it's very repetitive. Business simulation was fun. Learned alot. Be prepared to read alot.
Professor Frei was great, the class was easy to follow along in and concepts were easy to grasp.
Dr. Frei is one of the best professors at Texas State! He is fair, clear with his expectations and teaches the material in an effective manner. His exams are fairly easy! This semester he allowed open notes but if you know the material pretty well and do your readings, you can easily get an A on each exam without relying too much on notes.
Professor frei is a great professor. The only important thing is to study the material in order to pass his exams. FYI he lets you use your notes during the exams!
It's hard to fail this class since it's already easy enough! If you're making a C or below, it shows that you're not doing any work at all!
Great professor very easy going
Very respectable teacher and knows what he is talking about in each lecture.
Overall nothing too bad to say about frei, pretty good instructor and makes instructions very clear for students. PARTICIPATION MATTERS.
Attendance was mandatory but only one day of the week and counted as participation grade but besides that class was easy had to read and do quizzes for hw but it could a be done within a week And open note test
I took the course online, but we met once a week via Zoom. Great professor overall, just make sure you do the only assignments and you will be fine.
I liked his class! It was fairly easy and the workload is manageable, but exams were hard.
Really good professor, there are McGraw hill assignments but he makes the material easy to understand
Was a good course. Be prepared for a business simulation, and try to do well on it, because it matters
Just keep up with you assignment. He's really good at answering any questions you have to ask.
This class is very easy if you put in the effort. The group project is easy and not terrible. The test can be a little difficult but he gives a study guide which is very helpful. I got a B on all the tests and still got an A in the class. Hw is through McGraw Hill and due weekly. Overall 10/10 professor and very approachable.
Great professor would take again !
Great Professor! Great easy paced online course!
Should definitely take
You do have to get McGraw Connect for the book, online quizzes and assignments, but all of the assignments are from the book. You can also find answers on quizlet. Exams are open note and NOT proctored which is a blessing for online courses. You have ample time to complete all the assignments.
I took this as an online asynchronous 5 week summer class. This may seem daunting to some but it wasn't that bad. The only issue I had was that he would open the units on the same day each week but something was due every day of the week instead of at the end of the week altogether. The tests covered what was taught and were easy to understand.
This class will change your life. Reading the textbook helps a lot.
I absolutely love professor frei! I highly recommend!
Dr Frei is an AMAZING professor, took his class for my minor and he explains everything clearly and gives many extra credit opportunities! I RECOMMEND
He was great! would take again!
Really helpful and is willing to listen when struggling!
I think this professor was very nice and helpful during the course.
Great Professor! Would take again!
He is a really chill professor. Only counts the 12 highest connect assignments out of 15. Very easy class and a very helpful professor.
He offered plenty of extra credit opportunities and wanted us to achieve. I appreciated him and his class.
He is a really good person and his class makes it easy to learn the material.
Very helpful & easy to understand.
Lots of homework, it was easy but time consuming. Uses McGraw Hill connect. But nice guy.
There were lots of extra credit opportunities and exams were open note. I appreciated this class and Dr Frei.
Good professor and very likable! Class work is laid out clearly and allows you to structure when to do you schoolwork for other classes in conjunction with this one.
The Professor was very straight forward with how things work in the class and stuck with the syllabus.
Easy to comprehend course material. Great lectures
Amazing Professor!
The professor is highly prepared overall. He has everything planned out and is able to send a message in a timely manner if anything changes with the class schedule. His lectures are very informative and interactive. I would definitely take a class with this professor again.
His lectures are very interesting. This man is very smart, holds actual real world business information and brings those lessons to the class. The group project with "GoVentureCEO" was fun. He is very specific about what he wants. I would love to have the opportunity to take another class with him.
Professor Frei was awesome! Very straightforward, no surprises when it comes to what you need to know for tests or homework. Most homework consisted of smartbook assignments; easy, but can take up to a couple hours. The course is a little mundane but he does his best to make lectures engaging. Great professor to take for the intro business course!
I took this class as part of a Study Abroad program, and it was a very fun, condensed class (3 week course.) If you have the opportunity to take the course through like this, do it! There's busy work, but is definitely manageable. One group presentation at the end, but not difficult to put together. Great course taught by an fun and engaging prof!
This elective was a Study Abroad elective, and is worth it to anyone who may be interested! Most grades came from company visits and activities, one big presentation at the end. Professor Frei is very accessible to talk about the course and help with any trouble you may have with balancing the trip with the class. Great professor, would take again!
I wish it was a two-day class, however 1 class day a week is nice. Mcgraw Hill assignments are long, and you will have a relatively easy group project. Take him
As long as you do your homeworks and turn stuff in on time, you should get an A.
This course was really easy to keep track of. We had zooms on Mondays and assignments were due on Wednesdays. Very consistent. Everything is open note! No lock down browser or proctoring at all.
Class was structured and put together. Dr. Frei is very caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about his course.
Very informative and organized class, easy to follow just make sure to take good notes and participate in class!
I definitely recommend taking this professor! He is very caring, and willing to work with you. Lectures are very straight to the point and interesting. Homework is Mcgraw-Hill so they are kind of long, but will help on the quizzes and test. Questions come straight from lecture slides. One group project, but it's pretty easy.
Professor Frei was an amazing instructor. His lectures were very informative and they were quick and to the point. You have one group project but as long as you all participate and follow instructions you will do well. Everything on the exams correlate directly to the material in the lectures.
Fair grader. Extra credit was offered.
Manageable class the simulation was kinda hard just depending on the people you get grouped with but other than that pretty straightforward and easy class if you get your work done
Professor Frei is very chill! He is very organized and lectures are straight to the point. One group project but nothing too crazy.
Makes the lecture of material and class participation interesting. Lots of modules with homework and quizzes. Business simulation group project was good to teach you how to run a successful business financially. Team Work and Leadership.
Dr. Frei is a very nice professor who genuinely cares about the student body. There are a lot of activities/assignments, but a lot of them are for your personal development and professional improvement.
Professor Frei is super cool, and he tried to engage with his students even though the class is online. The exams are pretty easy as long as you study. Definitely recommend.
Great professor. There is a lot of reading and homework, but if you do it, you will do great in the class.
Work was based off online smart-book with assignments, 3 exams that if your do the review (open note ) for you will do good.
Class was straightforward, expectations clear, tests are open note. Easy to succeed in his class.
Awesome professor who makes this class an easy A (i havnt done my final yet, but am at 95% rn). McGraw homework every week so be ready to put in some work. 3 open-book exams which relate to notes. Learned alot throughout the way too. If you can take this class you wont regret.
I really enjoyed the videos that explained the chapters along the way. I truly enjoyed the course and the instruction was thorough and explained very well.
Great Teacher! Very easy to get an A
