Seth is awesome. Most interesting class. Forget he's your professor cuz hes cool

He is a cool guy and is more like a friend then a professor and is real easy to talk to in that class. Wouldn't recomend if you don't like to speak up in class.

He's the best English teacher I've ever had. He's a bit of a hippie. He's very easy going. You have more freedom to express you opinions.

One of the few professors at WCU that will get you excited about learning! Teachers like this make a student want to to well because the pressure is off and you can concentrate on the subject better in a relaxed atmosphere. Take the class & enjoy !

this is a writing course disguised as a political science course about diversity taught by an extreme radical left wing liberal. be prepared to write journals DAILY. Peace Man!

Seth guides his students through thought processes and encourages the use of various writing styles that improves communication skills.He also makes himself available for one-to-one help.Don't be afraid to take his class.It's a great experience.~DD

Seth's class is really cool. He takes the subject of English and turns it into something enjoyable and fun. Writing's with Seth, unless off topic completely, will be an easy A or B. Great class, great man. Take this course.

This is one the best teachers i've had at WCU. He makes you feel like you're on the same level and lets everyone have a chance to speak their mind. I also love the "question of the day"

class was fun, seth did not care if we would disagree with him about anything. we wrote two papers with three drafts of each. he would encourage us to try new writing styles in our differeent drafts. class was very laid back

Like Jeff Lebowski, Seth is The Dude. You can talk to him about anything. He is very open minded, just don't mention, Dave Matthews Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, or the Grateful Dead in front of him. you could talk non-stop on any topic. HE IS THE MAN! I had Seth for Business and Organizational Writing. For a writing emphasis course it could not be more of a cake class. It is a MWF class and I usually skip twice a week. He could care less, you can turn in work when you get it done. Great man, great class. TAKE HIM!!

Amazing guy. Remember when college was your responsibility, with no attendance policy? That is what Seth does, and you learn. I missed 4-7 times and definitely learned from him.

Stereotypical hippie college prof. he's a really nice, mellow guy. Class gets harder to go as the semester goes on because it tends to drag and he doens't take attendance. Just do the papers and turn in your portfolio and you're fine.

awesome teacher. doesn't act superior and is very intelligent. he'll do what he can to help you out and is very laid back. one of the best professors i've had

He's really wierd but after a while u get used to it. He's funny but he can get annoying. O and his teaching method is rele odd

Seth is a refreshing change from your typical writing professor. He somehow manages to make a research project enjoyable and stimulating, and takes a sincere approach to writing, one that focuses less on mechanics and diction and more on content and relevancy. I would definitely recommend Seth.

Seth's cool. Im taking summer 2 with him and we're only writing one paper, just critiquing it every week. His class is kind of boring, but really easy.

Kahn is a madman, watch out! He's an off the wall, "hippie like" PhD determined to help we, the student body, learn outside of conventional methodology. I found Kahn both engaging and well spoken. His classes can be boring, but often this is due to the subject material. I enjoyed him as a teacher.

Seth is the man! He took a class which I thought was going to be boring and made it fun. We could do a presentation on anything we wanted, usually I BS my way through English classes, however, I found a topic I really liked, and he enjoyed it with me. I WOULD take him anyday, hes one of the few good teachers @ WCU! Not the easiest/not the hardest A

Just what everybody else said...good, fun teacher. For the papers he lets you pretty much pick your topic and angle, as long as you can support your argument, which is pretty sweet. Always in his office hours & if you can't make his hours, he's always willing to work around your schedule. Check to see if the books are in the library before you buy.

I hate writing but i really enjoyed this class. Seth is a really cool teacher and understands that we have other classes besides his. He was extremely helpful with our papers.

He was an awesome professor! I hated writing and he made it so interesting and let us write papers that intrest us. I wish he would've have taught wrt-200.

Seth was really nice. Really cares about his students and tries to get and know each and everyone. Makes class fun with ice breakers everyday at the start of class. Lets you write just about anything you want.

the reason i love seth is because he lets us focus more on content, creativity and substance in our writing... rather than grammer and proper citations and all that crap. he allows for total self expression.

I have mixed feelings about Seth. He is very laid-back, which can be good or bad, depending on your personality. If you are type A and need guidlines, stay away from him. His class is very laid-back, which is somewhat nice but can be awkward. Overall, the class was definitely not what I expected.

Seth is a real laid back professor. He doesnt really pay that much attention to attendance as he lets on because I was absent quite a few times. Class is a circle discussion. Each of the three papers you will write you are able to combine into your final paper and they are all on the same topic. Take this class!!

I took this class at 8AM and still loved it! The assignments seem difficult at first but once you pick your topic and learn so much about it, you want to do the work. Everything makes sense once you hand in your final project :). Seth is a great guy who has a lot of very interesting points that really open up your eyes.

Seth is a fantastic teacher. He really is helpful. Some people can take him differently. He has dry Humor that some people do not get or find funny but I do. He is enthusiastic, a good grader. He lets you re do work if you did bad. If I had the option to take Seth for my other classes. I would 100% have him for all them. :)

I really like Seth. He can be sort of deceptive, because the class overall is really easy, but he grades pretty hard. You just have to read and go to class and talk about it, and you only write 3 papers, no tests. But like I said, he's a bit of a tough grader. Still recommend him!

Great professor. No tests, just 3 papers throughout the whole semesters. There were informal writing assignments too, but these were very easy. Very helpful if something is unclear; always at office hours and doesn't mind spending time to make sure his students understand the assignments and their grades

Great prof, easy to get an A, but makes to think. Good discussions in class, but I understand why some people think he is confusing or "belittling"...he isn't, just the personality I think. Great class!!

Dr. Kahn is not for everyone. His sense of humor is a tad weird and his feedback tends to be a bit "snarky". The content didn't interest me at all, however he is an excellent teacher.

You know that kid in class who only wears shirts Sex Pistols shirts and tries as hard as possible to be contradictory? Seth is that kid with a Phd. He's snarky as can be, and it's really up to you to decide if that's a good thing. It's hard to know what he wants out of you in discussions, but he gives the best feedback on essays I've ever gotten.

Super nice guy, though he can be snarky sometimes (but he knows it and usually apologizes in advance if he knows people may be insulted). His papers were thought provoking. He also does everything via email/Google Drive in terms of assignments. I'd take him again if the chance comes along.

He understands the fact that this class is only a gen ed and really only wants the best for his students. He is the most personable professor that I have and really only wants to see his students succeed. Hopefully I can take another of his classes in the future!

Amazing teacher, very thought provoking. He makes the class very easy but if you work at the class your writing will improve immensely. If you want an easy A take his class! There are very few assignments, no tests, and few readings that you don't necessarily have to read. It's a hard class to fail, unless you don't show up.

AMAZING

Seth is super cool and easygoing. This class is based on one big research assignment, and he cancels classes for a total of like three or four weeks during the semester for you to use as out of class work-time on this project. Interesting class that I learned something from and taught by a cool prof.

Seth was a really good professor! He gives you one big paper and little assignments revolving around your same topic. As long as you do the work and follow his directions, you'll pass. He also cancels class for like 2 weeks straight which is awesome. Easy A.

This man is a savage, he gives 2 big papers and a few small assignments to boost grade. Classes are always fun. He wants you to succeed and he is a very generous grader. Theres not much else to say, if you have him you in for a good time.

Seth is an easy class, he even says so himself. If you ask him to review a paper he will. He says how no one ever comes to his office hours. There aren't a lot of graded assignments so don't miss them (THERE EASY) He rambles a lot in class, and it gets annoying, but do all his assignments and you'll be fine

Meh. A few weeks into class I'm over him. He's kind of confusing, doesn't really make his assignments/expectations clear. Attendance matters. Class should be easy, he isn't really into grammar as much as he is with your thoughts.

Seth is a good man. He does care, but he's not the clearest about his expectations for each project. Be sure to pay attention, because he hates when people zone out. The class revolves around a couple research projects, which you need to keep on top of. But if you need one more WRT class, Seth is a good choice.

Two weeks left of class, and I'm still trying to figure out if I like him or not. The class its self is pretty easy. So far I've written two papers (both extremely easy) and a bibliography. We just have one big project at the end of the semester.

Seth is truly a great guy, he is really there to help you and work with you in any way. He gives you one paper extension throughout the year but I didn't even use it because he gives you ample time for relatively small assignments. He's very funny and friendly and 100% recommend him. If you do the work he's an easy grader and I ended with an A.

Seth is literally the only professor I have cared enough to rate on here. I think he deserves a 5 star rating. He cares about his students and not only demonstrates that in class, but does what he can outside of classes as well. It's easy to tell that this is his passion. If I wasn't graduating, I would take more of his classes just for fun.

Seth is one of the most easygoing professors. He really cares about his students succeeding and goes out of his way to make sure you learn something. I loved his class, although it was a bit boring at times, it was an easy A and I was able to learn something from it.

Such a nice guy. A very low stress class!! A good choice for a writing research course. As long as you do your work you will get a good grade and you will have so much time to complete your assignments. You will learn valuable tips for researching.

Dr. Kahn is a great guy. He is extremely flexible with deadlines and doesnt ask much of you. If you turn in your things and do what is asked, youll get an A. He makes it so a lot of classes are optional to go in and work on projects, and he respects your time and privacy. Great dude, my favorite professor.

Dr. Kahn is a very understanding person and will encourage you to not come to class if you're tired or need to take care of your mental health. He does talk a lot though. He also takes very long to grade things, but he isn't strict on deadlines if you need an extension. Very very easy grader. The most chill professor probably.

Dr. Kahn expects you to do a lot of work for his class, but he is extremely approachable and willing to help if need be. There is a ton of reading and the culmination of the class is a long paper, but he is very helpful along the way. Great guy who cares about everyone

I didn't personally find myself too engaged within lectures due to the way they were presented (i.e. large group discussions, rather than presentations + discussions), but I cannot be too picky. However, he gave extremely good feedback with papers, and this allowed me to apply it realistically to writing research and understanding research methods.

For as much as I hated this class I really respected Dr. Kahn. I genuinely don't think I learned much, but as the class is unavoidable for English majors he's a good person to take it with.

This was the third class I have taken with Dr. Kahn and it's for good reason. He is truly the sweetest and most caring professor I have ever met. He cares about his students on such a deep level you can tell he's a passionate professor. I think his awkward nature hides his true intelligence for a lot of people. don't doubt this guy! (easy grader!)

Kahn is one of my favorite professors. He makes things easy and understandable. He is super sweet and cares about his students and their busy schedules outside of his class. Not a harsh grader and accepts late work and extends assignments on multiple occasions. Take him if you have to take effective writing or any writing; he is a great professor.
