Totally a cutie
Hot... lectures a little boring at times... and a good teacher
Very intelligent, however quite the ego. Highly recommended. He may not help it, but he has the tendency to make you feel inferior.
Going through his class with him having a shirt on is tedious, he's a hottie, every girl will agree that he just needs to take it off. His jokes are kind of cheezy but he is also very clear. take good notes and your sure to get an A. def recommended.
Not the easiest class in the world, but if you are going to take anthro, take it with Malios. I also highly recomend the discussion and analysis for this class.
I actually enjoy his class. He has a passion for the subject, which makes it more interesting. His tests can be tricky though. He tends to throw in a few trick questions. He's conceited, but did I mention he is incredibly hot? He is.
Very clear on his expectations. Very few assignments in course, but he is a touch grader. He expects the best. Very funny, but lectures can sometimes be boring.
He is a very interesting and enthusiastic prof. He can be one-sided at times. There is hardly ever any real homework, but there's alot of info. in the lectures so TAKE GOOD NOTES. Overall, he's a good teacher and is very explicit.
class is really interesting! take good notes b/c that is the midterm! he's really cool...and enjoyable to look at! if u can get into the discussion class.
This teacher has to be one of the best I have ever had. His lectures are really clear and he really knows what he is talking about. It helps alot if you take the discussion class too! Take Tracey, he's the hommie!

Great professor. He loves what he does which makes his lectures more enjoyable. It is not incredible necessary to buy the books.I'd recommend buying Taking Sides and Patterns of Culture. Most of the books can be found in the library.Overall, great class!
good class....i just used First Class Notes. they are the best. it helped me out a lot. i got an A in the class, and i am bar far the worst note-taker..so i was able to enjoy the class...
Quite possibly one of the best classes i have had at SDSU. His passion for teaching and Anthropology is quite obvious and refreshing. Go to class! That is the most important thing to being successful in this class.
seth is the hottest teacher at sdsu and his class is interesting. its hard to pay attention cause he is hot. take this class... trust me.
Good class. The guy loves to teach anthropology. Just show up to class and buy the First Class Notes if he still does that next semester. He posts practice tests that turn out to be very close to the actual test or exactly the same. Easy A.
good teacher...everything that will be on the test is laid out in class...very clear...tests are fairly easy also...might even give old exams to study for...good class
Pompous. Doesn't seem to care how a student fares. Gets along well with males and only likes females that flirt with him. Likes to shoot your work down just because he can. No constructive criticism, just plain mean.
He's a very passionate professor and gives great lectures. Enjoy every minute of class! Notes are easy to take and you'll grow to love anthro if you didn't already. Very welcoming to crashers too. Wants to make sure you are safe and comfortable in class.
He is very interested in what he teaches which is great and makes the class very enjoyable. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS. His tests are exactly the same with a few extra questions.
Interisting and easy class if you print out the tests online, they're supposed to help you study but the actual tests are similar to the ones online. TA's are a big help so take advantage of them. Never read because he went over them in class. One paper and the final is essay form
don't let the good looks fool you! yeah, he's hot, but he's a very serious teacher; very organized and really knows his stuff. his tests are easy as long as you print out the sample tests online beforehand. get ready to write lots of notes!
Nice guy, very passionate about his subject. Lectures can be interesting and if you use the sample tests and attend most of the lectures you'll get an A. He's strict about his policies though, so don't expect much leniency on missing a test or an extra credit opportunity.
DR. MALLIOS LOVES DR. MALLIOS. hes pretty passionate about anthro as well. if you get the chance to break stuff, TAKE IT. itll save your grade from the evil TAs.
Mallios is just a normal looking guy (don't be disappointed)! But he does look young. Great teacher, passionate about Anthro. Respects his students. TA's do ALL the grading & have a huge work load = they suck!!! Go to Potlatch for free points!
Right On! Mallios loves Mallios. Knows his stuff, but thats about it. Never get the feeling he cares about the students, just himself and the stupid professor critique at the end of the semester. Easy course though.
He is NOT easy, but beautiful to look at. The best start for any day :) He is SMART too - a rarety among men at SDSU!
Good teacher. The grading in the class is WAY too subjective though, and it was the TAs who graded everything. Do the practice tests, go to the classes, and know what the TAs want you to say if you want an A.
Awesome teacher, with the sexiest voice ever. Puts study guides on the internet and if you know those you'll get an A. Do extra credit. Very helpful and really cares about his students. Amazingly smart and makes class interesting. Had no interst in anthro before the class, now I love it.
Easy as long as you study the practice tests--they're practically exactly like the real tests. Interesting class.
One word... swarthy.
Mallios is a real cool teacher and he knows how to make his lectures very interesting for students. His class is pretty easy if you do the practice tests and come to class. Beware of the TAs they're kind of harsh on grading!
This man is so sexy. What more could you want than to look at a handsome man and learn alot about an interesting topic. He is a great professor. SO HOT!
The class can be boring but make sure you take very detailed notes. The tests are easy as long as you do the practice tests. Never skip a class. 3 tests, one paper and 1 exam. Not too hard. Meh, I didn't think he was as hot as he's built up to be.
One of the best teachers ever. You'll want to go to class because its so interesting. Because of this class i changed my major to anthropology. no joke.
I'm a guy, and even I thought he had an unbelievable swarthy hotness! I've seen some handsome profs in my day, but jeez! Oh, and he's a good teacher, yatta yatta ya, cares about students, blah blah blah, too. Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
The hottest guy I have ever seen. I hope to marry him some day. And he makes the subject extrememly fun. My favorite teacher ever.

What a cutie! No joke, i only took this class because my friend told me he was hot but ended up really enjoying the subject. Not only is he hot but he's smart and funny too... I'm definitely not the only girl in the class who wants to marry this guy.
This professor is really cool and knows his information. MAKE SURE TO DO THE PRACTICE TESTS that are available online - they will help you tremendously for the real tests. Class attendance is not necessary, but make sure you get the notes from friends.
Hot hot hot! anyways... now that that is out of my system... great class... DO THE PRACTICE TESTS! The similarities b/w that and the real tests are amazing! This class made me declare anthropology as my major. This was the only class that I went to every lecture for.
HOT HOT, and did i mention the hotty TA!!! Great class, do the practice tests and you will do fine. You will be interested after the first week.
He's hot. He's passionate about the subject. class is very interesting. tests are a piece of cake as long as you study the practice tests online, b/c they are almost exactly like the test he'll give you in class. take this course- you'll learn something!
Awesome class where u actually learn something - Mallios is a great lecturer and is very passionate - easiest class as long as u take notes and do the preactice quizzes - helps to find someone to study w/ for the tests
you are the fricken man. i have one thing to say to you suckafoo; NICE. well this teacher is the man and he is really intelligent and he really digs what he does. he has passion for his work and loves to teach others the craft of archaeology. i hioghly rec. thanx for the awesome dig sessions and good vegan talk. lates

Very cute and very interesting...this class is not boring at all. Very funny and the teachers aide is just as cute.
Ok I may have coome to class because he was hott or that he was a great teacher Study and youll get an A
awesome, need to go to lectures but tests not hard, cool guy
Very interesting teacher, and very enthusiastic. Show up to class, and you'll do fine.
This prof is like a tale of two hinterlands...goofy sense of humor on one side, serious academic on the other. Historical Arch was my best class at state and if its ever offered again take it.
Really good teacher. I highly reccomend him. His class was at the same time very interesting and not too hard. His tests are hard, but his sample tests help you out almost too much. I would say to fulfilkl a social science GE this is the best class at STATE. He has an optional lecture called the Potlatch-its a must see, absolutley hysterical I
Great teacher. He gives you almost all the answers to the tests in the study guide, but he throws a few in that you have no idea about. You don't really need the books unless you plan on getting the extra questions on the test right. He also gives you the questions to the final. This is a pretty easy and interesting class. Highly recomended.
Great teacher. Made class fun. Attendence is necessary to pass the class. Readings are not. He goes over all the books in depth. Dont buy the books. Puts old tests online and most of the questions are the same. Made anthro really interesting. He really knows his stuff. Must take
keeps you interested and fun to listen to him!
This professor is interesting, humorous, and knowledgable. He makes the subject fun and although there is a lot of reading, you'll find yourself enjoying it. Tests are slightly difficult and long. Students taking this class need to be responsible for reviewing and studying the material themselves.
Mallios is a great teacher. He knows what he is talking about and relates it to popular media today. He is easy to understand and nice to look at. His tests are almost exactly like the old ones he posts online, and his TA's are also extremely helpful!
This class was awesome, not just 'cause i'm an anthro major... Tests are on the easier side, as long as you go to lecture. It doesn't hurt that he's totally cute, too. ;)
Mallios really knows his stuff...I'm not an anthropology major so I thought it was really boring. You have to go to every single class because he doesn't post his notes. Tests are ALOT like the practice tests. There is only one extra credit..overall I wouldn't recommend this class unless you're interested in anthropology.
OMG this class is definately an experience. If you want to learn about archaeology then definately take this class. Seth is awesome and has some really great stories. You definately learn a lot. All you have to do is survive camping for like three weeks, but you get to go home on the weekends. Anyway I recommend.
I took ANTHRO102 just for my GE. I thought it was going to be a boring class but i was wrong!! He is fun and interesting and makes me want to go to lecture! He puts practice tests online that are almost exactly like the real test. He just started this semister to put lectures online. And you get to watch Planet of the Apes in class.., AWESOME!!
the tests are alright. the study guide has a lot of the answers on it but you HAVE to read. he gives extra credit which helps a lot! ill probably get a Bt. i didn't read but i did study the study guide.
Best teacher ive had in college yet. i didnt buy a single book and still got an A in the class. Just pay attention to the lectures and know the study guides COLD and you will do well enough for a B. Really cool guy and fun to learn from
Best Teacher. makes class fun and easy. his teaching style makes the class easier. just study the study guides and youll pass the class with a B.
Funny, inadvertently. Loves the subject. Isn't teaching this specific course anymore though, but take him if you get the chance.
by far my favorite teacher ive ever had. great class and a great guy. getting a "B" is really easy just do the practice tests, but getting an "A" means A LOT of reading
it was a fun class to go to. he makes learning the subject pretty easy and interesting. even if you dont read but you do all the study guides the class is easy to pass.
Mallios is an awesome teacher! He is a good lecturer and makes everything really clear and interesting. If you can take this class with him, def do it! The only bad thing I have to say is that there was WAY too much reading. We had to read like 9 novels outside class.
great teacher. makes material interesting and enjoyable. the study guides alone with no reading will get you a C. But you have to read if you wnt a good grade.
best class and teacher ive ever taken at state.
good guy... good class to take.. there is a lot of required readings but if you dont read em youll still pass the class as long as u do the practice tests .. they are very similar.. i HIGHLY recommencd this class.. notes are also posted online just in case of being absent though he doesnt take roll..
I though this class would be boring, but it was great! He is really passionate about anthropology and makes the class interesting. It's also a very easy class. Just be sure to study the practice test and you will do fine.
Do not bother getting/reading the books. His lectures covers it. All the lectures & practice tests for his 3 midterms & final are posted online in the beginning of the semester. His tests are 95% the same as his practice tests and the majority of the material come from his lectures. As long as you study his practice tests you'll get a guaranteed A
Anthro 102 with Professor Mallios is great! You should definitely take his class if you're looking to knock out some GEs classes. All of his exams are on blackboard- so you just have to study the before the exam and you're golden! Lectures are also interesting!
Such a great teach, one of my favorites at SDSU. Very interesting and easy class.
One of the coolest professors at SDSU. His class was really easy. I didn't do anything but study off the practice tests and still got a B. It helps to go to class if you want a better grade but you really don't have to. You don't have to do the readings because he covers it in the power points. Overall, easy A/B depending how hard you study.
I recommend everyone to take this class. Even if it is only to satisfy a GE requirement. I enjoyed this class a lot and learned something new every lecture. This class was great and Mallios is a very good professor. Make sure you use the study guides for the test, they help out a lot!
Mallios is AMAZING. The guy is like a real life Indiana Jones! He is super knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to. His tests were pretty much straight from the study guides, so as long as you do those, you'll be fine. Loved his class a lot!
seth is the coolest proffessor i've had and although i wouldn't say his class is an easy a, I got a B and never read a single book and went to about 4/5 of the classes. so if you read and go to class you should get an a with no trouble
Make sure you attend lectures. Great guy and a great professor! He honestly cares about his class and what he is teaching. Not an easy A... put in a little effort and its not that bad.
He's a great professor but the class was kinda difficult. He puts practice tests online and they are almost identical to the actual tests so if you study those and read his book then you'll do fine. I enjoyed his lectures, they were never boring and he's a pretty funny guy. this class was really interesting! and all the lectures are online!
He posts lectures online but to be honest, it's a lot better idea to go into class cuz otherwise you won't really get it. Do the study guides, they're pretty much identical to the test. Most of the reading you can get away with not doing EXCEPT Hail Montezuma. Mallios is hilarious and a crazy smart guy and a great professor, topic was interesting
Mallios has given me life lessons, the class was more than a grade itself. Although I didn't receive the grade I wanted, the class changed the way I think... Tests are already online, but the TA expected very detailed answers on the short answers so be prepared. Also, read the Hail Montezuma! book, it taught me a lot about SDSU.
He gives you 4 tests, one of which is the final, which he gives you the questions to in the syllabus. The first three are online, which is also very helpful. However, he asks a LOT of questions about HIS OWN book that are not online. You really have to read AND STUDY his book. There are so many details that you have to remember. Dis tew much.
Professor Mallios is a great lecturer and an interesting person. However, your grade really depends on the TA. Stick to the study guides and you'll get an easy C on the 3 tests, however there is lecture material on the test that is not on the study guides so go to class and you'll get an A. Don't worry about the readings, they're covered in lecture
Attendance isn't required, but I thought it was helpful (especially for the final, which is all essay based). The class is very easy, as long as you go over the study guides & read Hail Montezuma (all other readings are covered in class).
You will want to go to every lecture! He is entertaining and upbeat about the subject. He's an amazing and caring teacher. He wants you to learn and succeed. You do have to put work into it, but it is well worth it. The end of the semester scavenger hunt (we were guinea pigs) was so much fun around SDSU campus. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!
EXCELENT TEACHER
Great teacher, lectures are interesting and you can tell he really cares about his students and what they get out of the class. Very fun overall.
Great professor! I could tell he was very passionate about teaching and the course was very interesting. The class really changed the way I think about certain things and how I view different cultures. The practice tests are very similar to the tests which makes it easy to study for. Not an easy A but not a hard class at all and no homework.
Prof Mallios is very passionate and his lectures were always interesting. You can get away without reading the books he assigns since he goes over them in class, but the readings from Hail Montezuma are necessary. I attended every lecture and studied a lot from the practice tests and Hail Montezuma and barely got an A-. Not an easy A.
Professor Mallios is an amazing teacher and lecturer! Don't take this class if you can't stand powerpoints or lectures, but he makes it really fun and interesting. He focuses a lot on his own textbook so be sure to read it and attend class or you'll miss important notes. The tests are detailed and intensive so don't take if you plan to slack off.
Dr. Seth Mallios, PhD, is an excellent professor. He is kind, caring, and has a wicked sense of humor. Plus, his patience is through the roof! Definitely take a class with him if you want to change your worldview.
Mallios is a cool guy and is very interesting to listen to. All lectures were prerecorded and the 4 midterms and final are available right from the start, so you can work at your own pace. There are still deadlines for the midterms so he gives out a general schedule. You can control F midterms easily but it helps to listen. Final paper is tough.
