pretty good teacher. attendance is not mandatory but she includes certain things on her in-class lecture slides that she doesn't post online. really chilaxed grading policy, just have to study prior to the test and do the assignments and you should get an A
No Comments
wow, she says she is from KS, but wow, I cant understand her! dont take this class unless you like teaching yourself out of the book, because you will learn nothing from her!
You will need the book to teach yourself the material. I figured out how pointless it is to go to this class about midway through the semester. If you do the problem sets and the online quizzes, you are guaranteed an A. You only need a 68 or above on all 3 exams to get an A in the class. Sh wants people to do well, she is just a little boring
The class wasn't that bad. If you are looking for a skatewalk class to get an A. Then this is it. She was very nice and had a little humor. Her Asian accent wasn't that bad either.
This class is awful. No creativity at all. All the problem sets were taken straight from the book. When people did good, she made the tests harder. Way too hard. She is a nice lady and does give extra credit as long as you are willing to do it. Save yourself some headache and find another professor.
Class is kinda boring. Gives out a ton of extra credit. Exams contain the same questions as quizzes(which are extra credit) if not very similar. I got an A+ without much effort and without showing up to class regularly. Extremely easy.
boring. don't take it. I'm actually in her class right now. She gives powerpoint so you can studay by yourself. Attendance is not mandatory.
Good teacher. Fair Grader. You pretty much get what you want out of this class. You will probably do well because she gives out a lot of extra credit, and if you also take her class seriously then you will learn a lot!
She is really helpful. I emailed her up to the last hour before the exam and she emailed me back with answers. She is also extremely easy to understand, her exam is extremely easy! some questions are straight from the practice quizzes online, and her quizzes are straight from her practice quizzes! EASY to get A+ if you try.
She's ok. Attendance not mandatory. Lots of extra credit like pop quizzes and some participation activities. Tests all multiple choice and it's the same for the 5 announced quizzes. Class was boring and straight from PowerPoint. If you want that A, go to class. Also, I made A+ with old textbook in case you don't have the money either.
I think she's a very good teacher. At the beginning of the semester I thought it would be THE class to make me go crazy. But after the midterm, I was glad I didn't drop that class. Her ppt slides are from the book.If you can follow her, you won't need to purchase the book. Lots and lots of extra credit (at least 50 pts).Just be sure to do the problems
Great instructor! She encourages students to come and see her if they are struggling. If you take advantage of her help you will be fine.Quizzes and class participation helps you grade tremendously.Although attendance is not mandatory missing quizzes will hurt your average. There are only two exams so get all of the extra points you can.
Great teacher. Quizzes are straight from practive problems and she does a great job explaining. Easy A if you keep up and if you need help she will help you. Attendence is not mandatory but if you miss you may miss extra credit and she gives a ton. Definitely take her.
Grace is a EXTREMELY crystal clear. I actually learned something :) She doesn't tolerate cell phones, computers, tardiness, etc. Attendance is not mandatory but there's no way you can pass the class if you do not attend. I recommend her highly.
LOVE HER!!! She has an accent, but makes all her lectures very clear. She is very available outside of the class. Excellent professor! Wish all prof were like her. I am now taking her again for ECON 4810 and she makes you like the material. I wholeheartedly believe that the professor makes the subject. I loved these subjects because of her.
If you study the slides, take the clicker quizes(extra credit), and do the assignment you will pass this class. She is a great professor.
Grace is very clear during lectures. She posts notes online, but still come to class because some things she says in class are not in the notes. She also posts outlines and practice questions before the tests.
Nice professor. Very animated. I feel her lectures are choppy at times. PowerPoint is good if it's used right, but sometimes it makes the lecture seems choppy and the material seems scattered
Great Teacher! Easy A!
shes an okay teacher. she repeats what you need to know on the test. she gives extra credit. tests are not a joke. goes by the book, but tests aren't whats in the book. requires a lot of studying! take her if you know you you have time to study a lot. made a B+ in the class, without a book.
She is a GREAT professor!! I was so scared going into macroecon, and she made it so easy. Go to class, sit in the front, take notes and you will get an A. She gives extra credit, so don't worry if you don't get perfect scores on everything, I wish all of my professors were like Grace. Awesome!!
Interesting course. Learned a lot because of her dedication. Lots of extra credit for people who show up. If you want to learn, you'll learn. Most of tests were covered by lecture; I made an A will little use of textbook.
GO TO EVERY CLASS! It is boring as anything but she gives you two points, sometimes 4. And she uses the points system so it helps a lot and all her practice materials are really helpful. Easy A
Dr. O is a great economics professor. Her tests are really straight forward for those who pay attention in class. Do her practice questions on uLearn because she gets a lot of her test questions from there - verbatim. The final exam is just a duplicate of all 3 exams combined with little to no variation of the questions themselves. Got an A+.
Grace is a great professor. She uses a reasonable amount of material which makes the course a lot less overwhelming. There are lots of opportunities for extra credit. The tests are straightforward with no surprises. Overall it is a good course with a great teacher.
nice proff, but extremely choppy.teaches something without teaching the background or never goes into details.very hard to connect the dots of the material. will help if you come to her office hours, quizzes come from practice question on ULearn, tests are extremely hard. NEED TO READ THE BOOK! (learn from my mistake)
A comically easy class. Tests are a breeze (although once all but one T/F answers were true, strange). Everything important shall be repeated hundreds of times. Her English is clear (but no articles). Attendance is rewarded, but absence isn't penalized. No need for the book. You have to try hard not to get an A.
Lecture class, a lot of examples she uses will be on tests, attendance is not mandatory so up to you. She explains everything very well and test is pretty much straight forward.
Dr O is a good teacher but sometimes hard to understand. Her test comes straight from her lectures and final exam is combination of all three exams. The class is easy if you can pay attention to her. Attendance is not mandatory but the clicker points and extra credit which is given randomly through out the semester so attend the class.
I'm very surprised by the rating on 12/5/11. I'm not sure what class you took, but Grace's 3900 class is by far not ez. The material is hard. Prof goes at one speed- fast. Be prepared for derivatives and higher math. Get the book. Don't miss a class bc you may miss in class bonus assignments. IDK if I would recommend her for an econ major.
Must read and study(Ofcourse.)I have taken two of her courses and will be taking a third shortly. She is the best! As long as you read-your job- she brings everything full circle in class to make everything make sense-her job-. If you like extra credit, good grades, and understanding what you are actually studying, take her.
Probably the most I've learned from any class at GSU - very relevant to what's going on today. Tough class but very satisfying. Total points are actually 110, so the "in class discussions" (IE - a problem you work on with a partner graded for effort) is a letter grade worth of extra points. In other words, go to class! Hard class, but she's great!
Grace is the best. Hilarious, knowledgeable, and reasonable. She dropped 3/12 homework grades and attendance was optional. I was never there and missed tons of homework but she (rightfully) gave me an A+ because I got perfect scores on both exams. Love her. Will DEFINITELY be taking again.
Grace is an amazing teacher. Incredibly smart. Also, I dont know why people are complaining. If you show up and try she will give you points. The material and thus naturally the tests can be hard, but if she sees that you are trying she will help you get a good grade. Show up, pay attention and make an effort and she will do what she can to help.
Love her! Easily the best ECON teacher I've had. She's funny and teaches only relevant information. Not really concepts, but how things have played out in the world and then relates that to the concepts. Makes it very easy for me to learn. Powerpoints are great supplementary material, but the majority of what you need to know comes from lecture.
SHE IS NOT EASY. her lectures are boring and you dont learn anything... but her exams are SUPER hard. She has assignments posted on uLearn almost every week. Has a bunch of extra credit but overall she is HARD. not an easy A.. you have 3 exams and a final thats cumulative! its really hard to understand and learn the concepts she teaches.
Not a great teacher.you would do better if you just taught yourself. She's confusing most of the time and doesn't do a great job at explaining stuff and is hard to understand. BUT she does provide an incredible amount of resources to help you understand the material. Do ALL the extra assignments and study the chapter quizzes and u should be fine.
Honestly, she's not HARD, but she's kind of boring and gives a lot of busy work. So if you like a lot of extra grades to cushion your test grades, then she's a good teacher for you. But I prefer as little of that as possible so I didn't have a great time. She's a nice person though. I really can't dispute that.
She is not an easy professor! I say don't take her. She is very confusing. The CTW's are hard. You have to do a lot of outside reading, studying and self teaching. She makes the course hard for no reason. Get a study group started the 1st week and remain in her office
She is really difficult, especially for a hybrid summer class. There were 4 different chapters due with in the first week of class. She barely covered concepts that were discussed in the book. She expected us to teach ourselves. She wants every one to think for them selves, but doesn't make it any more understandable.
You will go to class &watch videos &listen to stories that have to do with econ and you will be TEACHING YOURSELF EVERYTHING. This professor is a WASTE OF YOUR MONEY! Her quizzes are over material that she doesn't cover in class. She justifies this as the "new approach to teaching". More like "paid to watch students struggle to teach themselves".
Grace is a very nice person, and will answer any questions, but she isn't a good teacher. The average grade on our midterm was a 68 so that must tell you something. In taking her class, you will be teaching yourself all semester long but she gives you the book for free. The only thing she talks about is how economics relates to S. Korea.
Honestly guys, DO NOT take her if you can help it. Just echoing the comments prior to mine, she's way to chatty in class about things that don't need to be covered. It's a hybrid class, which I personally hate, so there's a ton of online work that goes with material that you have to teach YOURSELF. So hard, don't take her.
Find another professor who is actually willing to TEACH the material! Especially if you struggle with econ. My entire class of 120 students midterm averages was FAILING. She added points to make the class average a 68. If that doesn't tell you something then I don't know what will.
She doesnt make any sense in class and she refuses to help you out when you just need a little help with your grade, i did a "Tell Me More" assignment and im not getting credit for it cause she didnt see that i did it and thus im getting a D instead of C in the class, DONT TAKE HER AT ALL!!
She wont be nice and try to help you out, i did a "Tell Me More" assignment and im not getting credit for it because she didnt see that i did it and thus im getting a D instead of C in the class, DONT TAKE HER AT ALL!!
Going to class is pointless, she complain about the amount of face to face time in the hybrid class, but when in face to face time she doesn't explain ANYTHING! she gives A LOT of work: Tell Me More, DIscussions, Econportal Homework and learning Curve.
Made A+ without attending her lectures. Two majors exams: midterm and final. Made 90 and 95 respectively. The exams weren't terribly difficult. I just read the textbook/ppt before each exam. To explain the failing class exam average, I assume many refused to study SMH. Lots of online HWs, yes, but they're easy.. suppose to inflate your grade.
If you have to take this class, PLEASE take the hybrid and not the lecture class. Hybrid takes tests online and lecture does not. I ended up getting a 100% in the class with an 84% test average. She gives so much extra points with the homework and online activities that it will help your grade a lot! Just make sure to stay on top of everything
this was an hybrid class. Going to class was pointless because she never taught anything. A bunch of online assignments, just make sure you do them ALL! it really helps your grade. Tests are online, the midterm was awful but the Final wasn't too bad. Ended up with an A+ with a C on the midterm and B on the final.
Grace is the best teacher I've ever had. Sure, this isn't the easiest class, but she brings the enthusiasm every single class and clearly has a passion for macroeconomics. Literally half the class dropped, but I chalk that up to laziness more than anything. If she's teaching macro, you're doing yourself a disservice by not taking her.
She makes this class impossible to fail. From reading the comments below people assume you can put forth no effort and come out with an A. Pay attention to the concepts she explains over and over. She's doing it for a reason. Also, make sure you do every assignment if you plan on not preparing for the tests. I recommend taking her.
hybrid course.honestly, I learned pretty much nothing, but I got an A. I went to maybe 4 of the lectures, they are very boring and she doesn't teach you much. There is a good bit of online work, but it's not really hard or anything. Based on my test grades I thought I would get a C but if you do the online work, there is no way to get a bad grade
Impossible to fail. It was a hybrid course. I went to maybe 5 lectures. she does not teach and explains the first day it is pretty much self taught, the inline vids were helpful. Time management is key, it was a lot of online assignments and she did not reopen assignments. Exams I failed but online assignments got me through. Easy credit. Take her!
Dr. Grace is a very hard professor. She doesn't baby students but she isn't very helpful either when you do ask her a questions. Powerpoints online so you don't really need to attend class. Homework, quizzes, and tests are online. Homework and tests are challenging. Would not take her again.
She explains material very well, and relates concepts to the real world. Her exams are hard but if you study and pay attention in class, it's not too bad. She also curves exam grades. Also she gives opportunity to earn 10 extra credit points.
First of all, this is a hybrid class, meaning half online and half classroom. The class only meets ONCE a week, but thats not enough time to get ECONOMICS. She uses a clip on mic during class so you can barely hear over the rustling of the mic. She expects the online program to teach you, but it doesn't. She's very nice and goofy, but can't teach.
Easiest class ever! Attendance wasn't mandatory, which was great considering my class was in Aderhold. Yes it's a hybrid course, and no you can't slack off on assignments. Weekly quizzes and homework, but they take up to 2 hours at most. Grace was really nice, and gave so many opportunities for bonus points. It's hard not to get an A+!
Grace is a nice teacher. she is very goofy. I took the hybrid class which I recommend. There is a lot of work to be done online weekly but it doesn't talk to long. her tests are fairly hard but online. you can't just google material, it has to be understood and applied. If you don"t like her teaching go to the SI sessions, that's what I did.
Let me not forget to mention she is extremely sarcastic & when u don't understand something & try to ask her questions, she will answer u in a very rude and sarcastic tone, completely embarrassing u in front of class. I read the text book, went to SI, so I don't think I asked any stupid questions. She discourages u from asking questions BIG TIME!
Worst professor I've had at GSU thus far. I don't understand where she pulls the material she tests us on bc it is nothing like the book, online assignments, or lecture. She doesn't do much teaching, you'll notice as class progresses she does very basic teaching and make the tests extremely hard.
Dr.O is sarcastic which isn't for everybody. All tests are online but very hard. She doesn't teach, she expects you to teach yourself, which is hard to do since she is giving the tests. She thinks her videos she posts online are helpful but they are not. Do NOT take her if you don't already know everything about Macro.
Alright so I took this as a hybrid class and all I can say is if you can't keep up you're on your own. She's not an easy teacher and her grading is very difficult. This class is solely based on you working by yourself and if you need extra help she will not help you. The tutor will but only on his time not yours. This is a hard classprofessor
She's awful. Her hybrid class is impossible. She's not helpful in any manner. Her tests come out of thin air not the book, her lectures, or videos. I took her twice thinking I would know all her tricks and style, but soon realized that it's the clarity of the material that she doesn't explain. She spends time on material that doesn't show up.
I don't think Grace means to be unresponsive to her students, but she definitely is. Numerous students have complained about the material on the exam but she did not understand, therefore nothing happened. Her lectures will help you very little on the exam, so be ready to read a lot from the book and take notes. Would not recommend, to be honest.
Grace is actually pretty funny and her lectures are full of videos and pictures, but that is about where the nice comments stop! Her tests are all online, but incredibly hard. Every time I emailed her she was a bit rude or had some snide remark. I felt very much on my own in this class. Almost intimidated by her attitude to ask questions.
Dr. Seunghae Grace O is a terrible professor. If you are not from Korea, you will have a hard time understanding her. Her grammar is terrible, and very distracting. Her tests come from thin air. Zero material from the book on the test. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. TAKE ECON 2105 and 2106 SOMEWHERE ELSE. Revoke her PhD ASAP.
Made me hate economics. Was going to be an economics major. Not anymore. She is a terrible teacher. Her exams are unclear, and do not come from the book. Numerous students brought issues to her about the exams, she did nothing, because she does not fully understand the english language. Georgia State should fire her as soon as possible.
I took the hybrid course. Assignments online are an easy 100. Tests are online, however extremely difficult. She is not very clear and is not understanding. She is sarcastic and mean. Attendance not mandatory, just look at her power points. Reading the chapter is not enough for the exams, you have to understand to do well. Learning is on your own.
Quizzes every week easy 100 for hybrid. Can't understand her and pretty confusing. Make sure you readunderstand the book before. Attendance "mandatory" but no pointswithdrawal threat, her power points online anyway. Tests online but you have absolutely no time and are extremely difficult.
AVOID HER. She's demeaning, gets visibly frustrated when students don't understand right away, and does not go back on concepts that students don't understand. The tests are also crazy hard, without exaggeration, out of the 2 tests, a total of 11 people finished them total. 7 on the first, 4 on the second.
Grace was funny. That was about it though. She was sarcastic and a bit rude. Her lectures were interesting though. Her tests were tough, and long. It was hybrid, so a bunch was self taught.
I withdrew from this class after the first test. Hybrid class. Worse class and teaching I have ever had. Econ is a hard subject to find good professorsclasses. This one is no different. Her D2L posts mean next to nothing & don't help on the test. Neither does the book. Probably need a tutor. Test almost made me cry. Too hard for no reason.
Professor Grace is the worst professor at GSU hands down. RUN don't walk away from this class. I would highly recommend anyone to drop her IMMEDIATELY, even if that means you have to wait until next semester to register for Macroeconomics again. Take Rioja, or Hunt. Her quizzes and exams come out of thin air.
I took her because several students recommended her. This was a hybrid course where you meet one day out of the week with all class assignments and exams online. At the end of the semester she does an amnesty period (makeup bad grade). She's not hard, Go to class and pay attention. And don't forget you're responsible to learn the material yourself
Dr. O's class won't be an easy A at all but she is helpful if you ask good questions and she knows what she's talking about. Tough CTWs and most people won't finish her tests. I got close but I never finished one and I still got an A so thanks, Dr. O.
The class was not hard unless you did not go weekly to each class (hybrid class). Sitting in the front helps one pay attention and understand her, even in her accent which is not bad. Many complain about her tests but if you actually study and understand the topics and can remember her examples, you can get an A+.
Grace O is a really good teacher, conveys her stuff well, tests only on what she has taught in class! Practices a lot with the students. I plan to to take my higher level Econ courses with her too!
If you think the fully online class will be an Easy A.. think again. Each chapter exam requires you to have a FULL grasp of that chapter as well as the previous ones and even then you'll need some luck to get a 100. I would suggest supplemental reading. Better yet, I would suggest taking someone else.
She is not a good teacher. She is sarcastic and rude when you ask questions. Her tests are nothing like her lectures or the quizzes. It is almost impossible to get an A in her class.
The first day of class Grace made sure to warn us that if we weren't ready to work, we should drop the class. Honestly, she's over exaggerating. If you go to class and write down the practice problems and how to solve them, you'll do fine on the test because it's composed of exactly what she taught. Honestly, was a great teacher and I'd take again!
By far the best professor I've had at gsu. Course is challenging, yet rewarding. If you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. However, if you want to comprehend the material and think critically, I highly recommend her.
I received an A+, only because I attended every class I could and studied outside of her lectures. She is very passionate about economics, and at times can become snarky or sarcastic at simple questions (only to people who usually never show up). She has a good memory and will recognize who is in class and who is not. DO NOT SHOW UP LATE. good Prof
Quite disappointing. A large majority of the time spent in most classes spent watching Grace O berate students. She actively calls out struggling students, forcing them stand in front of the entire class and attempt to answer her questions. They must remain standing if they aren't correct. Only one of many examples. Horrible learning environment.
Expect to teach yourself because it's easy to get lost in the way she explains material. She becomes agitated when the class doesn't participates and makes everyone stand. Overall, if you do your homework, take your practice quizzes (multiple times) you'll pass the quizzes and the class.
Unless you are willing to teach yourself, don't take this class. Hybrid classes are a joke! The questions on her quizzes are hard to comprehend. Take screenshots of the homework if you want to pass her quizzes.
GREAT ECONOMICS PROFESSOR. Went at a great pace, explained things really well and summarized everything at the beginning of classes. Funny! Tests are pretty long, but open book and open note. You have to be prepared. Do practice questions a few times and go to peer tutoring sessions. She gives SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT for showing up to class!
Very rude, and calls people out in lectures. I hated having to go to class because you weren't going to learn anything. I ended up switching my major less than halfway through the course but had to stay in the class. Which ended up bringing my GPA down.
First, don't take the online version because you think it'll be easy. You have multiple chances to make 100's on the homework, the quizzes can be very tricky, and the final was hard but I didn't study. You'll actually have to study and go to SI sessions for this class. It's not hard but you will work for your grade. I got a B in her class.
Grace O is very passionate about economics. She lectures from start to finish every class meeting (seriously). Her lectures didn't really seem to help me with her quizzes and final. Grade consists of weekly online homework, 8 online quizzes, and the final. I ended with an A, but I didn't learn much about macroeconomics.
Its extremely important to pay attention. She tries to make the class an enjoyable time, which is respectable that a teacher puts in effort for the students, however sometimes its not that easy to follow up on her examples. Take the practice quizzes. not gonna be an easy class just cause it's a hybrid class. put some work into it.
Do all of the work expected of you and attend (most) lectures, and you'll have an A+. Everything is online, so you're free to use your notes on quizzes and even on the final. Also, most of the final was copied directly from the quizzes. Attend class and speak up and she'll remember you and be more willing to help you. Actually use the homework!
Get ready to learn in this class. Be prepared to work in class, Professor O loves to walk around and make sure you're completing the in class question and that you're doing it correctly. Make sure to attend class (she notices who is there) and get all the bonus points from the in class assignments! Quizzes can be tough - but study class material.
I took the Hybrid version of the class and did well. The online quizzes are purposely confusing and hard. Online homework is easy and an easy 100. Had an A+ all semester and then took the final and made a B on it, but ended up with an A in the class. She's funny sometimes. I would take her again.
An all around great professor. I really enjoyed taking her class. This doesn't mean the class is super easy, you still have to work for your grade, but she is willing to help and guide you along the way to ensure you understand the material.
I am currently taking this class online and I am so far ahead because you work at your own pace. She is very helpful and always providing help. The homework can be a bit confusing if you are not an Econ major but quizlet and courshero help out alot
Grace O is a great prof. She really knows what she's talking about and she makes it a fun learning environment. Sometimes the chapters can be really tedious and math heavy but go to the SI sessions because they really help. I can't stress that enough. If you are struggling, go to SI. Dr. O is pretty funny and super nice. Don't be late! (Warning)
Easy course, it's online. Her own notes were terrible. Incorrect in facts and grammar wasn't that good. The online book and her information were slightly off, making me retake her quizzes repeatedly. She bases her exams off her notes which is frustrating due to the book and her notes difference. If you want an easy stressful grade, take this class.
Grace is amazing. She gives plenty of extra credit and responds to emails quickly. You have to pass quizzes in order to take the exam. She makes sure you know your stuff.
Her classes are heavily lecture based. If you were to miss a class and decided to use her powerpoints as a way to study, you wouldn't understand much. You have to go to class to understand her powerpoints. She gave a total of eight tests and then and an in class final. Her class is HARD.
She's very easy. Attendance isn't mandatory and on the homework you get unlimited attempts. The test are okay. I would say take her
Not the worst of the worst but still pretty tough. 8 exams- only 10 questions each so little room for mistakes. I personally did not get much out of her long lectures but everyone learns differently. SI sessions were a huge help. Extra credit is embedded into her course but hardly helped. Final was 30% of my grade and was a 4/5 on difficulty.
Took it as an online course. Not too bad but don't forget about it (& deadlines)! Acrobaiq quizzes can be re-taken as many times as you want. I made the mistake of not figuring that out until half way done with the course.. Could have been an easy 100. Exams are ok. There's about 10 or so questions.
I took her class online. There is a LOT of material to read. There is material from acrobatiq to read and from the actual material she puts up on D2L as well. There is quizzes every week from D2L and acrobatiq (really homework assignments). I would most definitely recommend her online because from I heard she was harder to have actually in class.
It can be hard to keep up with her during lectures since she goes through her slides so fast. Attendance is not mandatory but I recommend going to class as the pp slides alone aren't that helpful & will make more sense when she explains it. Overall the class was an easy A. 8 exams with plenty of practice quizzes. Go to SI & don't be late to class!
Overall she is a nice teacher, it is just a very hard course especially if you take it online and you do a lot of work; I think it is one of those courses better to take in person
I was a 4.0 student until I took this class. She drops your lowest test grade and replaces it with the final, so she keeps telling you not to worry about it until it's too late. Refuses to discuss things over the phone or via email cause it needs to be "in person." Horrible grammar, horrible teacher. Did not learn anything from her, just from other
This is a hard class, but if you study, go to her office hours, and go to the SI sessions, the class becomes a piece of cake. She takes role every class, but it is just a class role that is passed (she calls on people by looking at it). She is always willing to help and she really wants you to come to her and it is in your best interest to do so.
Took her class online, and she responded to ONE email the ENTIRE SEMESTER. Reached out to her multiple times. Had to reach out to her SI instructor/TA for the entire semester to get an appropriate response time and actual answers before test. Because of this class will never take an online course again. Ended with a 79.4, and refused to bump me up.
Worst economics professor I've had. She is clear about the grading criteria and even provides an excel sheet to calculate your grade but that's about the only thing she's clear about. None of the stuff she says in class or in her iCollege posts make any sense, I had to teach all of the material to myself. Tests are HARD, I failed my first ever test
Online class. At one point there was a petition started due to one of her crazy test. There is just no clear way to study for this class. I got a B+ so it is possible to pass but it's stressful! Just take someone else
i absolutely hated this class. the information in the textbook doesn't match what is on the tests. she is NOT helpful at all. the only perk is she curves the grades when the class average is below a certain number. the only reason i made an A was because of the massive curve on the final
She is ridculous. I don't know why GSU even hired her in first place. She doesn't understand anything. The chapters mention in the syllabus and her so called assignemnt schedule does not match the ebook. I emailed her and instead of answering the question, she send me back the whole damn syllabus. She is making me depress and she is no help
I took this class because someone mentioned you can work at your own pace... you cannot assignments are due Monday and Friday at 10pm. If you've never taken econ or had an interest in it this class will be very difficult for you as the professor does not teach anything at all. Do not take this teacher. Worse online class I've ever taken.
This teacher made this course ridiculously difficult for absolutely no reason. This is the worse online class I've ever taken. She doesn't teach anything at all and expects you teach yourself. Assignments due every Mon & Sat at 10 pm. Asked if she could make informative powerpoints she uploads the book -_- I highly regret signing up for this class
It was hard class for me. Fortunately, I got A-, but Id been concerned my class whole semester.
First off I would like to state that she is a very smart teacher. However, the problem is that she does not know how to teach what she knows. Her lectures cover less than a portion of what is on the exam. She is also pretty defensive when you ask her a question (Interrupts you in the middle of your sentence). I believe GSU can do better.
Her HWs (which make up the only category minus tests ) are not what she bases her tests off of. She is intentionally vague on test questions and is unwilling to help you on anything. She only helps if you come into her office hours. I excanged 12 emails with her over a simple question of whether the "Reading" was graded. Vague on everything .
She's not going to steer you in the wrong direction. She's awesome in that her lecture examples, quizzes and homework questions are fair game for the test. Her lectures cover exactly what is on the reading. She was one of my favorite professors this teacher. She's efficient at her job and actually asks on things she stresses in class.
Basic economics is not that difficult of a subject to learn. Somehow though Professor Grace literally makes it insanely complicated. She explains little, the powerpoints were useless at best, and the amount of curving she has to do to the grades so everyone doesn't fail is insane. I was also not a fan of the never-ending passive aggressive emails
Sure, the amount of homework is a bit much, but with unlimited attempts, it's nearly impossible to make less than 100% unless you don't try. Dr. Eau provides a ton of study materials for the exam, so I felt well-prepared going in. Be prepared to work, but also be prepared to learn a lot! She also provides a ton of extra credit ops
Grace is a person that has the clarity of mind, pace, and attitude that lifts your day. As an undergrad, I was on the fence about declaring my major as economics from finance. Halfway through her class, I was reassured that I would be making the right choice. A great teacher and solid individual.
I signed up for the hybrid version of this class over summer and only got to see professor Grace twice. The class was taught entirely by a TA who didn't actually teach, but just asked us what we didn't understand AFTER having taken the exams. The in person portion of the class felt like a waste of time. There's a lot of homework but it isn't hard.
