Lectures are good. Has a very good grasp of mechanics of chemistry and explains concepts well. DO NOT show up late for class or he will embarrass you in front of the class, he does get mad if you walk in late. Exams are really easy, “exact” copies of what is on the practice exams

Awful. Rude, demeaning, and unhelpful in office hours. Yells at everyone for the smallest things including TAs and students alike. Tells us our lab packets are wrong but the TA's answer key say differently. Somehow finds a way to rant about politics in a 8AM lab. Does not help you with anything or make up labs unless you go a step above him. Avoid.

LOTS of lecture slides. The practice exams are your best friend and will help you the absolute most. He talks very quickly and will draw a diagram on one slide then skip the next 15 because that one slide "covered" everything. Lab TA was always so unprepared and unhelpful. Lab was not only the bane of my Mondays, but of my entire semester.

I had Dr Paris for both 1510 and 1520 labs. The lab material was timed poorly, as we would be doing labs over material we had not yet learned in lecture. Oftentimes, what you were being asked to do in the labs was not clear. On the other hand, the labs were not difficult to get good grades in. You just have to figure everything out on your own.

Dr. Paris was the one who oversaw the labs while a TA taught them. My TA Samatha Friday was a sweetheart. She wanted the best for us. Paris rarely supplied the labs with the correct supplies and often yelled at students during labs for petty things. He often berated Samatha for things she had no control over. Steer clear of him if possible.

My experience in my CHEM1510 lab was not good. My TA was not helpful and hard to understand. Due to this I often had to stay in the lab for up to an hour and a half after my class period. More often than not, the lab assignments were not timed well with what we were learning in the lecture portion of the class.
