Ok basically she reads off the notes in class that you can print off the class website...it was really no use in going unless its a subject you really can't get on your own. I only went on test days and still got a B.

Just so everyone knows, this professors ratings are mostly under Shahdi Abdalohi. She is absolutely amazing teacher! I HIGHLY recommend her. Truly wants you to learn and do well. She knows her bio!!!
will not take again
no multible choice in lab
Took her for BIOL 1406&1407, one of the best teachers I've had yet, explains everything thoroughly, and clearly. Straightforward class and tests. Makes the lectures interesting by adding interesting bits of information. Very nice, and willing to help you with any questions you may have. Highly recommend for Bio majors.
She post her notes for the entire semester, and teaches from them. Study her notes and you will ace her class. Plus she gives extra credit, she will explain things well, if you ask
She is FANTASTIC! I took her A&P 2 class after barely swinging a C in A&P 1 with another professor- and I'm not an idiot. I am re-taking A&P1 w/her now. Her tests come straight from the notes and she doesn't ask any tricky, ridiculous questions. And no labs have multiple choice- it's college! Take her if you want to LEARN and get an A!!!
Shahdi made A&PII very interesting. It was much more enjoyable than A&P 1. The way that she explains how everything works together really makes it understandable.
Good teacher. Her class was really interesting to me. Teach well. If you study well, you will get a good score. She will give some extra credit too.
Great teacher. Had her for lecture. She goes straight off of her notes but adds things in so you need to attend class. 4 test and she drops lowest test grade and there are 25 extra credit points available. She's great but too boring for me, I won't take her next semester.
What an awesome professor! The course was not easy, but it was presented in a perfect way. She will always help you and explain till you get it! AND SHES BEAUTIFUL!
I was very nervous about taking A&P but Shahdi did an excellent job, she is a great Instructor! She explains everything and test are taken from the notes that she provides to you the first day of class. I am taking her again this coming spring semester.
She is a awesome professor. I had her for the lecture and lab BIOL 1406 and 1407. She prepare her own notes and hand that to you. If you come to class regularly and study her notes, you can make an easy A. Her reviews are so fast, but if you listen it carefully and take good notes, that will be very helpful for your test.
Her tests come straight from her notes, shes a good professor but dont get on her bad side, gives extra credit and replaces lowest exam w/final
Took Shahdi for A&P I & II, she is a awesome instructor. Class is hard but she is very fair! She provides notes, explains them VERY WELL so that you understand them. You have 3 test and one final exam. Shahdi will drop the lowest test and she also offers extra credit. Test are multiple choice.
Great instructor, she is one of the best. If you need to take a&p do not hesitate! TAKE HER!
She is a good teacher, I'll give you that. If you are trying to pick between her and HUSE, take Huse, UNLESS you want a TOUGH challenge. It's her way of teaching that unless you already know biology you may not understand. Huse's class she helps you understand the material a bit better. Also: currently Huse does quizzes in lab, Ms. shadi doesn't.
BAD PROFESSOR! Lots of people have dropped this semester due to her being rude and not helping other students with understanding the material. Her lectures are consist of reading off of her powerpoint presentations and her notes have too much information. She gives 3-5 chapter worth of notes in BIOLOGY and expects you to know all of it.
Great and easy professor! Test comes from the notes provided, so don't waste money on textbook. Made high A on each test, 4 tests total, and she will drop lowest test grade so technically you only need to do well on 3. Offers extra credit if you need it. I would recommend taking her!!
Awful professor. Class consists over 4 tests which are difficult because the material on the tests are different from what she tells you to study. Her extra credit is the saving grace of her class. Take her at your own discretion.
She is the best teacher ever. She explains all her materials very clear. She will answer your questions. I will definitely take her class again. I just love her lectures!!!
Her tests are not easy but if you pay attention, come to her lectures and ask questions--you'll be fine. She does not mind to explain everything to you. She is very, very smart and beautiful, too.
If you read her notes, you'll do great on the tests. Going to class is important if you went to class everyday your final score she'll bump it up by a points.
I just love her so much. She is the best Bio teacher that I ever have. I am looking forward to see her again the fall.
Wonderful wonderful teacher!!! Explains things and her test reviews tell you exactly what you need to know for her tests. I took her again for ap II
She explains her material very clear and straightforward. She is very good at explain her bio. She will work with students anytime, very understandable too. I highly recommend her. I tell all my friends to take her class. Jalilvand is the best bio teacher at TCC.
Knows her material. Explains very clearly. Gives good note. Study every word in the note and you are good.
Professor Jalilvand is an amazing instructor! Her class is VERY difficult but hey - its anatomy. I am an "A" student and ended up making a "B". You can tell that she loves what she teaches and very passionate about her work. She always told us to come by her office if we ever need to talk to her - even if it is unrelated to our class. So sweet!! :)
She teaches with passion and brings biology to light, her exams reviews is precise and accurate to the exam questions.
She is just great. She is great. She is great. She is very funny, very nice, very helpful and very friendly to students. If you wanna go to medical field, you can go talk to her office--ask her advice. She is just so sweet.
Great lecturer, but she is just rude to her students.
I don't know what's going on with her, but she is being a horrible instructor. Her voice is monotonous and boring, and her lectures barely help for the exams. Also, she can be very arrogant when you ask her help. I would not recommend her to anyone.
I thought I am the only one who think about her that way. I am not alone. I do not think that Ms. Shahdi is a good teacher. Her class is so boring. She always miss her class and office hours. Hardly to get in touch with her, too.
She was difficult, make sure you review her notes thoroughly and study well for her test. Do the extra credit just in case you don't do well starting off.
Very Good instructor. She knows her stuff.Easy class just study her notes. She reviews before each test. Very anal about coming to class on time. Won't let u in if more than 10 min late. I made a 96.3 & only studied before test. Very easy class if u listen to what she ask for. 4 test(including final) very easy & drops lowest 1. Definitely take her!
She is very rude. Not helpful. Other students talking about her a lot. Now, I understand why.
Her class is hard. Her reviews don't really help, basically we have to study the whole thing. Must know details, which is fine, but she won't give us advice how to study in her class. Not recommended at all.
She's neither rude and her class is not very difficult, actually.. I had her for my biology for majors lab class, and many times she would come up to me and see if I needed help without me having to even ask her. You'll need the lab manual book and you need to show up for the labs to pass. You also need to study before tests. Nothing surprising.
BIOL 2401. Very Good College instructor for Medical Majors. She knows her stuff. Easy class just study her notes. She reviews what to study before each test. Very anal about coming to class on time. Passionate about Anatomy. I would take with her anytime. You learn a lot with her, just study.
She's a very fair, understanding, and good professor. She wants her students to learn and if something is unclear she will explain until it is clear. Not an easy class but if you put effort and study her notes you will definitely pass. Would take her again.
First test: Easy. Next test: hard. I passed with an A, but I'll never take her again. I told my sister and my friends about her attitude. omg... They won't take her class. It was mistake taking her bc she made her students feel stupid. She doesn't respect her students; she treats every student like high-schoolers. Not recommended.
Clear about her expectations. Gives 4 exam (including the final), drops lowest. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Record her lectures and listen to them over again; she test right off of what she says in class. Gives a review on what will be on exams. Read her exams slowly and carefully! Questions can be tricky if not read thoroughly.
Ok, so I'm a mother of 2 I work at a hospital, nights and I'm taking Micro and AP1. AP is not an easy class overall everyone knows this. However, Jalilvand is amazing! She has notes you can print out and follow along as she lectures. She's very passionate about AP. She explains everything thoroughly when you don't understand. DEFINITELY RCOMMEND!
Explains things okay. Kind of goes through things a little fast and leaves stuff out that might be on the test. Her test a fairly easy, but the only thing she puts things on the test that she does't discuss in class. I think that hurt me a lot in her lab class. I don't recommend her unless you have taken bio already.
Goes through her power points FAST so you get lost & miss out on info. Lecture notes are not very detailed. Kind of rude. 3 tests & final plus extra credit questions on every test. Tests can be challenging but are not super hard, so STUDY IN ADVANCE! Offers extra credit opportunities. No HW. Drops lowest test grade. No quizzes.
She is a great prof! She post the notes online in blackboard so that you can follow along during lecture. She gives a review before every test! There is extra credit on every test as well. The tests are fair. There's only 4 tests. She drops your lowest test grade. She's passionate and knowledgeable about bio. You must attend to get class notes.
I took A&P 1 & 2 on campus with her. Knowledgeable & Passionate professor! Do you really expect ANATOMY to be easy? It's tough and you have to read & study to understand and learn. Long lectures, but I recorded all lectures and lots of note taking. Make study groups with classmates, it pays off! Highly recommended for all Medical students.
Her tests are VERY hard. Her lab is easy but the lecture is HARD. She's a great teacher but you just have to study twice as hard.
You have to read to pass, but, if you listen very well in class and not texting, you'll pass too. Most of what she says in class, comes out on the test. She gives extra credit which really help a lot (up to 15 points in lecture, none in lab). Gives up to 5 tests, including the final, drops one. She's hilarious (to me), and Lectures are amazing.
She's not that bad but just try and study a lot. Record her lectures, read the textbook, look online for practice tests, and pray. Lol
She is very rude. I made As in her class, but she would make you feel dumb if you asked questions.
I took her lecture online it was very easy to pass her exams online. Leaves more time to focus on lab.
Jalilvand is AMAZING! She's very knowledgeable about her field and passionate. She only gives 4 tests (including the final) and drops your lowest. I never took a final for her class and i took her for both AP1 and 2. Her tests are tough if you don't use your lecture notes and the review she gives you before every test. I never opened my book either
Take her, she is very impressive and thorough in her lectures and you will learn a lot walking away from her classes. Shes very passionate about biology and will make sure you learn exceptionally well in her class. look no further than her and Regina Huse, both of them are the best of the best at TCC Southeast and you wont regret it at all.
She is amazing. I took her for Lab. she is very clear. and her lab is interesting. I have learned a lot. just take notes and do the homework and you will be fine. I would take her again.
She is a great professor! She's tough, but she explains the material so well that it's easy to understand. I took her for both A&P I and II, best lecture instructor I've had thus far.
She's the best in the subject I took her for A&P 2 and Biology 2 during the same semester and it was a breeze. show up to class record her print her notes and you will get an A.
The most amazing lectures. Shes extremely knowledgeable and caring. Great sense of humor. She wants you to understand the topic not memorize. Shes gorgeous too!
I absolutely despised taking this course online. The slides and notes did not reflect what was on the exam! Most of what I studied wasn't even used. All tests are administered through ProctorU which is also very awkward and a nuisance to set up.
. All of the online exams don't match the power point nor the notes that are provided. the exams don't allow you to go back. you're literally given a slingshot and a rock for lecture and study materials to take down her Goliath exams. If you say this is a good professor for bio 1406 online. You're a liar and your momma should punish you.
Professor Jalilvand is super awesome! She is very passionate about biology and if you pay attention, you will do well. Her grading is very straightforward and clear cut. I highly recommend her for biology and anatomy.
Professor Jalilvand is super awesome! She is very passionate about anatomy and if you pay attention, you will do well. Her grading is very straightforward and clear cut. I highly recommend her for biology and anatomy.
Very difficult. She covers a lot of material, and expects you to know things from the slides. Alas, she doesn't give you enough time to write things down, and to make matters worse, there are some questions on her tests that aren't even covered by the handouts or slides. She does offer extra credit and curves tests, but even so, she's difficult.
She is very fair professor explains things where you can understand them well. She gives extra credit its worth a lot! She gives you what you need to study and always reviews before her test.
Great professor, good lectures. No homework, 4 tests, the last is comprehensive but still easy. Gives reviews. Gives 3 points extra credit onto final class grade. Come to lecture, listen, and study & youll do fine.
You can tell that she mainly teaches anatomy and physiology because she taught biology like it was an A&P class. Her lectures were super dense and she didn't post her slides online and she went kind of fast. I liked her lab and the practicals weren't super hard, but her tests were brutal. I got my A by sheer luck.
The worst professor I have ever had. The tests dont match the PowerPoint or lecture notes. The chapters in the book are too long to remember. Dont take this class online, because you will be using procotor while you take the tests where you are being watched while taking the tests. Also have to pay if you don't schedule the test on time .
Covers a ton of material. Doesn't allow you to take pictures of "her" persons power points. Moves fast and very general in what she covers. Test overs super specific questions. Review for test in none existing... Good luck if you take her.
WORST Professor I've ever had. Goes too fast in her lectures, you can't even take pictures of her power points. HORRIBLE reviews as well. The reviews are given like a day before the test. Not a lot of time to study the material. She's just horrible. Don't take her.
LAB ONLY. She is super easy for lab, your labs are once a week and are basically free 100's and her practicals are tough until you know what to study then they are a easy walk through. Made an 98 my first one and I had no idea what to expect. Can be rude but her easy assignments make up for it. Huse for lec. and jalilvand for lab is an EASYYYY A .
Has Powerpoints that are only for lecture so aren't posted in which that doesn't help with exams because you cannot go back and view them. So hard to match up notes.. so you end having to read and sort of interrupt in your own way. And she goes really fast when lecturing.
Ms Jalivand expects a lot from her students so I can see where some of the poor reviews come from. This is certainly not an easy class and takes effort to get the grade you want. She does curve but its not something you should rely on. She is very sweet and is available to help if you need it. She wants you to succeed. Not an easy A but i did learn
Biology is a subject that you will have to work for. Memorizing is not going to do the trick you NEED TO UNDERSTAND the topics VERY WELL to do great in the class. Has a TEAMS to do lectures in (optional). Has short quizzes every week (that's how attendce is based). Reach out to her. She will help you. My biggest complaint is questions can be compli
She wants the students to understand the material but does not give many assignments where you can do so. This makes exams particularly difficult since it is hard to apply your knowledge without practice. She is willing to help and seems to really enjoy teaching. Quizzes and assignments are not too bad.
I am dropping this class and never taking this professor again. She never makes it clear how to go about notes/studying. There is no practice for applying your knowledge besides the quizzes & tests. First test the mean score was a 42, the lowest being 18, and she still didnt understand that it was her fault we did so bad.
Amazing prof, charming, funny, tough course due to the material but she makes it bearable
Professor Jalivand is not a bad professor by all means. I took her for 1406 lab and it was really tough just because the practicals where so hard. Labs are really easy just come to class every week. But know what to study for practicals because thats where my grade took a turn to the worse by a single point due to the difficulty of the first test
I am a 4.0 gpa student and I dropped after taking the first test because I was scared I was gonna fail. I studied all the available resources she provided and my brain froze upon seeing the exam because it was very different from what she covered in her lectures. Test weighs 85% of lecture grade. DO NOT TAKE HER EVEN IF SHE'S YOUR ONLY OPTION.
Class & lab was very boring. A lot of talking & going through endless slides. PowerPoints & notes are accessible outside of class. Lecture & lab exams make up the majority of final grade, making it hard to bring it up. Reading for homework. 1 easy project. 4 heavy exams & 2 heavier lab exams. Quizzes are bonus points. Drops the lowest exam.
her exams are 70% of your overall grade you'll have 4 exams but a final; lab is the remaining 30%. There's no assignments just study the material, and you will be fine; i enjoy her as a teacher she gives amazing lectures and occasionally draws on the board for a broader understanding. totally recommend her
Jalivand was a great professor both for lab and lecture. Lectures feel long and cover a lot of material. Tests are straightforward but do require you to think a little. Majority of your grade is from tests, study material and you'll be fine. Go to office hours! She will help you. Very kind and passionate would definitley take again.
Extremely lengthy lectures, few quiz that give only one extra point on exam per quiz, up to 100 slides worth of powerpoint but over all she is a good teacher, you can tell she really loves teaching and is passionate about it.
Gave great information in the lectures, however, the tests would have additional questions on information that may have not been in the lecture. I studied hard and listened to the lectures multiple times. I felt very confident and would freeze up upon reading the test questions. I wouldn't take again, not straight forward at all.
Her lectures are SO LONG, and her exams are VERY DIFFICULT. You might like this professor, but you might CRY when looking at your grade. The class mean grade of exams is always D. 1 her 4 credit hrs class is heavy as equal as 2 normal 4 credit hrs classes
This professor is so knowledgeable and I truly learned in her class. However, the lectures are very material heavy and you have to pay very close attention and take good notes. You also have to study the material very intensely for the exams and lab practicals. If you remain studious and organized you will do great!
Do not take this Connect Course! In-person, she seems like a great professor who cares about her students. But strictly account for online? Worst professor I've ever had. From outdated lectures that don't correctly account for exams to a final exam composed of material we never learned, do yourself a favor and find another professor. Horrible.
She exactly is as the bad comments describe. avoid her if you can.
I regret taking her class. Too heavy. She has a passion for teaching. Somewhat, she makes people feel like she pretends to be a nice person.
Professor Jalilvand was amazing! It was an online lecture and in person lab, but the lab was by another professor. She knows exactly what she wants and she gives VERY helpful reviews before tests. If you don not study according to what she asked for, you will not pass. In all, she is very nice, gives very good lectures!
She knows how to explain concepts and really differentiate between everything because this class requires it so we don't confuse it with other things. She speaks clearly and draws examples on the board. She doesn't stop so people can take notes but you can just follow along on your own computer. She'll answer your questions if you have any.
I took an online course so it was homework heavy, however alot of the homework was interactive reading. Which helped me a lot as I am a visual learner. She also provided feedback on almost each assignment which I found helpful. The only downtime is the meeting time was on a Saturday but she usually didn't take up all the time.
She posts all her presentations and notes. She also gives extra credit on every exam. She also gives a review of the exam BY READING THE EXAM! Didn't touch the textbook a day in my life. But if you wanna do well you need to come to class to listen. Even her lab was amazing, and we often got to leave on time without spending 3hours in lab. amazing!
OMGG. Professor Jalilvand is Amazing. Im not sure why her ratings are so low.very funny and take her time to make sure you understand. gives lots extra credit of up to 15 points. Even her lab was amazing, and we often got to leave on time without spending 3hours in lab. choose her!
She is a very nice and sweet teacher. You can tell she has a passion for what she teaches and I learnt a lot from her. I'm not sure if this review is fair to be giving a 5 on difficulty since I haven't take other 1407 professors, but this class is almost impossible to get an A. Her 1406 class was much easier, but for 1407, good luck soldier.
Don't take her!!!
Do not take her! She is very unhelpful
SHE IS A TOUGH GRADER i got an A but wouldn't recommend taking her.
I took her bio1406 class she is nice but for the exams there are 50 questions each the final had 100 questions. There is no way to bring your grade up and all depends on what you get on your exams. She is not strict about tardies I was always late 30 minutes.Recommend if u like studying but there are easier teachers out there no hw but lecture heavy
Her lectures are long but explains well 4 total exams and each exam is of 4 different lectures. If u fail one exam #cooked drop the class due to not being able to bring ur grade up nm. She gives 10 extra points on exam due to small quizzes but u have to STUDY and go thru notes PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. Lab was easy noy difficult really easy and fun
