A great professor

Abrahams is an awesome prof. if you're willing study his overhead outlines in detail.i aced ever test by just showing up,listening, and reading over my notes.he's easy to talk to and very clear in his lecture delivery,if you can get used to his accent.

He is my favorite porfessor. I actually had him in high school also. He is very clear and helpful. His jovial manner takes the edge of when needed. As long as you are willing to learn and study he is very fair and forgiving. I would reccomend him to anyone who really wants to learn.

He was an amazing teacher. He makes it fun to come to class. His tests are hard but he gives you a pool of essays and picks a few from the list so this helps out some. The rest of the test is multiple choice t/f type format

If you want to learn in a fun and interesting way, take one of his classes.

AWESOME TEACHER!!! He is very interesting and makes learning fun. He made this class enjoyable for me. You have to put in the time but I feel he is a fair teacher and one of the best at TNCC. Mr Abrahams is a great teacher. He explains things very well and helps those who need it. Study for the tests and quizzes and you will do really well. Also offers extra credit for lab assignments.

BIO 141 & 142. Fabulous professor who LOVES to teach! His notes are posted on blackboard so you can pay attention more in class. The material is hard but he builds extra credit into ALL tests and quizzes and tests just on what he covers. "No funny stuff." He is the best professor I've had and wish others were like him.

Love him too! My only regret- I had Dr. Hyle for 141, & I was behind when I joined Abrahams' class in 142. He is very clear, and helped me understand the "big picture". No funny stuff- what you see is what you get w/ Prof Abrahams (and it looks good, too!)

He is extremely good at teaching, and he is very passionate about his subject. He is also very funny. His tests are very fair. I recommend you take his lab with his lecture though. I had Hundley, I don't recommend him at all.

I had Dr. Abrahams for BIO 142 and coming out of 141 with another Professor who was not that good I was ready for something different. I had heard very good things about him and he lived up to every one. He made learning the material fun, he gives you all the information you will need in his notes on Bb and he is very helpful.

Excellent teacher!! I had him for BIO 141 & 142, both lecture and lab. Very fair and up front with what he expects. Sign up for his classes as soon as sign-ups begin because his classes fill up very fast.

Mr. Abrahams is awesome. He makes class interesting, has a great sense of humor and gives real life examples to make important concepts easily understood. You must come to class, and you will learn a ton. Tests are fair, but it is a demanding class. Would reccomend him to anyone that really wants to learn and enjoy it. LOVE HIM!! GREATEST Teacher!

Excellent teacher. This is not a slack class, so be prepared to study. You'll learn alot, & his "real life" examples are very funny. He gives great notes, but expect to read the book as well. I had a different teacher originally, but switched after 2 classes. Very glad that I did. If you actually want to learn, and enjoy the class, take his.

Take Abrahams, not Hyle! Abrahams makes a hard class very enjoyable which makes it easier to retain. Essays are straight from class discussions/examples he uses. Study up. This is a massive amount of information to take in.

He was a very good teacher. He will give you everything you need to know and expect you to know it. But he won't ever expect you to know something that he shouldn't. He's funny, helpful, and I never truly hated waking up in the morning to go to his class. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had.

Definitely not an easy class...but def recommend Mr. Abrahams as a teacher. Be prepared to study hard. Take his lab quizzes seriously, too. The first half of the semester I did not and it really hurt my lab grade. Overall I received a C in the class but know I could of done better if I studied more. He is also funny and keeps thing interesting!

Look Mr Abraham's gives you access to all his lecture notes. Outlines what you will be tested on. All you have to do is study. I took this class before with other instructors and he def is the best and easiest to understand. It is a hard class but he prepares you!

Outstanding professor! You must study hard and read the chapters. Just studying the notes is not enough score an A or B. Good luck!

Prof. Abrahams is an awesome professor. He is crystal clear in explaining things, always linking ideas to real life scenarios. He is very helpful and willing to explain things if you ask. The class will make you think, but anatomy should be that way. He is definitely one of the best professors I've had over my college career.

Great teacher. Very flexible and approachable. Wants to teach not just there for the pay. You will learn alot better in his class becuase of his teaching style. You will need to study alot for this class. Some prof want small responses for essays quest. not so this time. Write a book for all essay questions and you cant go wrong-Great class bio 142

This is the absolute best teacher ever. His tests are easy, just use the online quizes to study & you have an A. The essays are given to you prior to the test. His notes are perfect - I hardly even used my book. Friendly, helpful, and just AWESOME!!! Make this typically difficult subject EASY and is always there to help you out.PLZ TEACH MICRO!

Does a great job explaining things and is a great teacher.

He is a very good teacher. He does not just stand in front of the class and talk at you. He explains the info to you and uses metaphors to help you understand what he is teaching. I hope he teaches Micro in the fall because I would def take his class :)

Prof. Abrahams was a joy to have as an instructor. His class notes allowed us to be completely attentive to his lecture rather than trying to write while he was talking, and they let us focus on precisely what we needed to know from the textbook. All material was clearly presented. He has a fun attitude, and I always looked forward to class.

Professor Abrahams was the best teacher I've had to date. I had taken anatomy and physiology as separate courses years ago, and Prof. Abrahams was far superior. You have to study for his tests, but his teaching style and lecture notes generate success. He is a dedicated teacher. I highly recommend getting into his lab class as well.

He is amazing. I am finishing up now in his 8wk, have him for lab and lec and he is so thorough I feel like I study half as much as I did in 141. I look forward to class and really miss out if you're not there, I found myself hearing him talking in my head during studying and testing. Go to lecture and study his notes and its cake.

This is THE BEST teacher I have ever had..ever! He is very clear and ties the material to real life things to help you remember and understand it better! You have to study though! I read each chapter and look over the notes and do the tests on the back of each chapter. If you take him, be prepared to put in some studying time! Its worth it!

Professor Abrahams is the best teacher I've had this far I am active duty military so my schedule is rather difficult to work with but he was very understanding and helped in any way possible. First time taking him and would tell any one to take him he's the best just STUDY!! Only one complaint!!! Wish he taught MICRO!!!

Prof. Abrahams was awesome. This wasn't an easy class that I could skate through I really had to work for my grade, but whenever you have a question he would answer it. He uses excellent examples to help you remember things. I'm sad I won't be able to have him as a professor for BIO 142. You can't go wrong with taking his class.

WOW!Just finished the summer session & Abrahams is an extremely INTELLIGENT professor who knows his stuff. If you study his notes you'll do fine. Take him for Lab as well. I will not have him for A&P II & hope the other A&P instructors are as thorough as he is...but I believe he is truly one of a kind that will be hard to match up to. HOTPEPPER!

Professor Abrahams is one of the best instructor I have encountered through out my college experiences. The notes he provides are an excellent summary to what he teaches in his lectures. I only wish that I would have had the opportunity to have him as my Bio 141 Instructor. He makes this complicated topic simple and fun to learn.

Hands down the best teacher I've had at TNCC. He's a great guy and knows his stuff. Do the multiple choice questions after each chapter in the book, they help a lot when it's test time.

Professor Abrahams is an excellent teacher. I wish he would come teach anatomy at UVA. He was a fair teacher and made all of the information very accessible. You can easily get an A as long as you pay attention in class and take notes.

Awesome guy! He's brilliant, funny, really cool, and encourages questions. His real-life analogies really helped me understand the material better. I'm sorry that I can't take his 142 class because he will no longer be teaching at the Hampton class after fall 2009. And yes, he's easy on the eyes. ;)

Prof. Abrahams is the best professor I've ever had and I've had a lot of professors. TNCC would do well to hold on to him as long as they can, he makes the material easily understood and is obviously very excited to be teaching.

Great intructor! No assignments or quizzes. Just 4 exams and lab determine your grade. For his exams he gives you possible essay questions but does not do an exam review. Has weakness for soccer players,lol. Don't be late for his class, he dislikes. Study and you will do well.

Mr. Abrahams is an incredible teacher. It is a very hard class but he does all he can to help you through it. His exams are hard but it is everything that is in his notes..just study the notes and you'll be fine...I got an A, but put in about 4 hours/weeks of study time.

Mr. Abrahams, is hands down the best instructor I have ever had. If you study his notes do the chapter review questions from the book you could easily pass with an A or B. I HAD HIM FOR A FIVE WEEK SESSION, AND HE HAD "NO FUNNY BUSINESS". HE GOES BEYOND A GOOD TEACHER! HE HAS OUTLINES AND NOTES FOR EACH DAY OF CLASS. HE FOLLOWS SYLABUS. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!! I LOVED HIS CLASS ALTHOUGH I DIDNT GET ANY SLEEP FROM HIS LAB QUIZZES, BUT I LEARNED A LOT. I THINK TOO MUCH. AFTER EVERY CLASS I HAD A HEADACHE.

5 week session-very demanding of your time! Lecture notes on Bb are a lifesaver! Tests are multi-formatted but not too tricky. You don't need the new edition of the book. The 8th edition will do & saves $. Drops lowest lab quiz which helps b/c lab quiz pics are poor quality, black&white, and hard to read. Liked him enough to take 142 in fall w/him!

Prof A is legit. I had him Spring 10 for Bio 141 and Summer 10 for Bio 142. You can truly tell he enjoys teaching as well as the subject. He's organized and helpful in both lab and lecture. In addition to that he's funny so you'll never get bored If you need to take A&P I advise you to take him even if you have to drive from Hampton. BUT DONT TEXT!

You can tell he cares about his students. He has a very welcoming personality which is very helpfull in such a hard class to know you can ask him question and he is more than willing to help you. Fantastic professor! His teaching style is very organized--he gives you the notes and follows them during lecture. I would recommend taking him for lecture and lab for consistency. The classes are not easy, but he gives clear expectations. He takes the time to learn your name and answer your questions which I really appreciate.

As students who are majoring in a health and science field, we should know Human Ana&Physio by heart- a basic foundation in our majors. Having said that, Mr. Abrahams really made the course from complex and boring to simple and fun(you'll love his jokes!). You will leave his class wanting for more information. His class have always a positive aura

Great!!! Very knowledgable and gives personal examples. He is originally from Africa and makes jokes and tells stories about his experiences there to lighten the dense material. Ps if you're planning on being a nurse or just taking this class in general be prepared to buckle down because it is a lot! Of material. But he is a wonderful teacher that I highly recommend!

Mr. Abrahams is a very tough teacher, I sat up plenty of nights asking myself how I was going to get through the material, here it is I did it..in the midst of being thrown out of my home. He tells you from the door he wants you to know EVERYTHING! No way around it..if you have time to watch tv and hang out, you are not doing something right..STUDY

If you can't pass this class and you are thinking about applying to the nursing program, you may want to consider another profession. Listen, he practically spoon feeds this stuff to you. You won't get that in nursing school.

The best proffesor I've ever had. He gives you TONS of information to learn, but it is always straight and to the point. The class is very difficult and he expects you to know your stuff, but he will bend over backwards to help you succeed in the class.

Professor Abrahams was absolutely wonderful and his syllabus was excellent! He provided you with all the tools necessary for you to succeed. I took this as a 5 week accelerated course - I learned more in 5 weeks with him then I have learned in an entire 16 week semester! He was awesome. His knowledge and delivery is outstanding!

He asks a lot of you but if you are going into a nursing or some sort of medical field he really prepares you. Ill be honest he is not easy you really have to apply yourself and study everyday but the results will show if you study. He gives you excellent notes to go by and he gives you your essays for the tests a week before to help you prepare.

Studying is a MUST but bad grades are no excuse b/c he gives you 100% of the information you need to know and there are no surprises. He is also entertaining and funny and very friendly. TAKE HIM!

The best of the best. I love his lectures. Somehow he makes learning anatomy fun and keeps the lectures interesting. The help the students any possible way that he can. I am considering myself lucky that I get to take this class from him.

Professor Abrahams is an excellent teacher I really enjoyed his class!! He's very helpful and will go out of his way to help you with what you need. He is also flexible if you have to miss class for something!! I would definitely recommend taking his class just make sure you study because his tests and quizzes are difficult

He presents a lot of information with great clarity. Hands down the BEST professor I have had. You will be challenged. Great prep class for anyone that will pursue a medical path.

Prof. Abrahams is the best science instructor I've ever had. He is tough, but very clear. He never asks questions designed to trick you. Very helpful, and very straightforward. He genuinely wants you to succeed. Work hard, and your hard will pay off. DO NOT disregard his cell-phone policy, he has NO tolerance for using it in class.

I found Mr. Abrahams very helpful and all around a good teacher. His labs can be a little dull but his lectures are full of funny references. All of his tests are relatively hard but if you read the online text assignments and use the practice qu in the back of the chapter then youll be fine. class is manditory, you can miss i think 6 lect classes.

I LOVED SHAHEEM! Best class I have ever taken! He is so funny and does a wonderful job breaking down things so people can understand! The classes are never boring, his humor along with his enthusiasm make for a great class and at 8 am in the morning you need that boost! The class is a little challenging but not hard and he gives extra credit!

He wants you to pass but does not just hand it to you. Yes you have to work for it but he will offer help anytime you need it. Makes jokes to break up boring lectures. Really helpful in lab!

I took this class about two years ago and am in the nursing program now, and I realize how having an amazing anatomy teacher has made all the difference in my success in the program. HE IS A TOUGH TEACHER, but it prepares you for other class you will have, especially medical related courses. Anyone can be successful but DO NOT SLACK IN HIS CLASS!

Professor Abrahams is such a great, and enthusiastic teacher! He is very knowledgable and makes his lectures fun and enjoyable. It's a heavy work load, but as long as you show up to class, take notes, and study you will do just fine! His quizzes and tests are straight to the point and you can expect leaving his class satisfied and full of knowledge

Really great professor, but the class material is very tough. You'll absolutely need to pay attention, take notes, and do lots of independent study. Overall, I would take one of his classes again, though!

It is heartening that Prof Abrahams plays a role in shaping the professional development of future healthcare providers in this area because he is one of the best profs I've ever had! He is passionate and has high expectations for students, but he also cares about them outside of class. Accessible, great lectures, clear expectations, hilarious.

Loved taking Professor Abrahams class! He is very knowledgeable on the subject and he made class fun. It's a tough course, so studying is a must. But it is 100% possible to get an A as long as you study and take notes. I highly recommend him as a professor.

Anatomy and Physiology is a heavy workload so be prepared to study your butt off!! but shaheem is really cool, and told a lot of funny stories to help retain the material and to make class less boring. I'm also almost positive that I actually got a high B in the class, I think he round me up because he rewards diligence.

Shaheem is the best professor I've taken at TNCC. He makes the material fun and easy to understand. Layout is pretty simple...4 tests and a Final. He makes chapter notes available online and his tests are derived from them. Very approachable, goes above and beyond to make sure students understand the material.

His system is very simple! Everything comes from his notes. 4 tests and a final, which means you must study! Never have I had a professor that invests so much into their students, he was made to teach! He is very welcoming during office hours to help explain things that you're not sure of. Wish I could take all my science classes with him.

Amazing professor! A&P is hard but he spoon-feeds it to you. Amazing examples and so many helpful drawings. There is a method to his madness and he helps you connect the dots and circles back to highlight how one thing relates to another. He goes by his notes, so you don't really need the book. No homework, 4 quizzes + 8 short essays and a final.

Great instructor. He gives opportunities for extra credit on all tests and quizzes. He uses hand written notes so don't bother buying the book. I didn't and got an A in 141 and 142. Be ready to memorize a ton of stuff for lab but lecture tests will test on broad concepts and he will give you the essay questions. Remember thalidomide for exam 1.

BEST teacher I've EVER had!! Study HIS notes and the chapter reviews from the book for the lecture tests (he takes ?s from the reviews) and you'll be good! He gives "study guides" for lab; makes for easy quizzes if u study! Put in the work & it's an EASY "A"! Lots of work, but you'll learn a lot and enjoy it as well because he's THAT good!

I would take this professor again!!! I worked hard for my grade. I took this class over the summer so it was shortened, but if you spend time learning the material you can do it. The lab quizzes were all fill in the blank.

If you're looking for an easy A this is not the class for you. The course is difficult and contains heavy material, but Abrahams will do his best to help you. He is passionate about the subject matter and he makes himself available after class if you have any questions. Lecture is never boring and be prepared for jokes.

I just finished BIO 141 in an 8 week summer session and I absolutely LOVED it. Mr. Abrahams is a fantastic professor. He is by far the best professor I've ever had! I wish I had him for lab, though my lab professor used his quizzes. BE PREPARED TO STUDY CONSTANTLY or you will not do well. Can't wait for 142 with him in the fall!

Great Anatomy professor. He really knows the material and he narrows it down so you only learn the important stuff. He also makes sure you understand the material. Uses great real-life examples and illustrations. Very funny. Likes it when students ask questions.

Professor Abrahams is amazing I took bio 141 twice and both my professors were amazing. With this class its really about how much work you put in. It doesnt matter how great your professor is, if you dont put the work in YOU WILL FAIL. Anyways Professor Abrahams was excellent and would have definitely taken him again if he taught 142 lab.

There are no zoom meetings where you actually have to talk or anything like that. The class is going to be hard no matter who your professor is, but Professor Abrahams gives you all the materiel you could ever need. Put a lot of time into the class and you will get a good grade. He uses a lock down browser on all tests. Best professor for A&P.

Prof Abrahams is a godsend. Yes, bio 142 is difficult (LOTS of studying and memorizing) and the class is not an easy A, but Abrahams is not only specific with what will be on his quizzes+test, but he also takes the times to write notes/ make videos for each chapter (study his notes, you'll pass with an A!) He's also extremely witty and charismatic.

Hardest class I've ever taken, although that is true of every Anatomy class. He gives you everything you need to succeed, but you must commit the time or you will do poorly. Funny lectures. Cool (yet understandable) accent.

I would take this again in a heartbeat. Prepare to spend quite a few hours studying. Grades are fair and posted quickly, emails as well. Use his notes to study! I took this online as an 8 week so it was a lot of material very fast but doable with the right effort. I wish I took this class in person as my only regret!

Professor Abrahams could do a bit better preparing students to study for his tests and quizzes given that they are not open notes. He does not provide study guides but asks us to study everything in the chapters, "everything is fair game". He is a very warm and personable professor though and very relational which is very nice. Overall a nice prof.

Abrahams is a fantastic professor, but this class requires serious commitment. With Unstuck AI and the free textbook, I managed to stay on top of the tough material. Expect challenging exams, but engaging lectures and helpful office hours.
