Prof. Ahmad is probably better than that other proffesor you are thinking about taking. You might regret it at first because there's a lot of homework, but by the end of the class you'll realize that it is needed for a class like this. By the way he is very sarcastic and sometimes funny, just don't take things he says to heart.

Class was hard, but you would be fine if you came to class and did home works. The asignment posted on ublearns was helpful; however, the mastering engineering was worst. There were seven exam ( each one worth 20 points) + final exam( 100 points). Overall, not bad.

7 quizzes, 1 Final, 35 homework over the course of the semester, mastering engineering assignments. Drops 2 quizzes, drops 6 homework assignments and 6 mastering engineering assignments. Lectures are very helpful. Tests are very fair. They are similar to his homework. Do the homework, put some effort in and you should get an A.

Ahmad is one of the most sarcastic professors at UB by far but you know that he is always there to provide support for his students. He gives 7 tests during the class but they are very simple. Typically, I would be done within 15 minutes of each one. He gives you two drops on tests as well. He gives homework after each lecture but they are not hard

Lots of homework, tests every two weeks and one final that is 40% of your grade. He can be funny sometimes and uses examples throughout his lecture. By having homework due every class and mastering engineering due a couple times a week, it is a lot of work but it forces you to learn the material so even though you may not like it, it is helpful.

Cares a lot about students actually learning and understanding the material which is why he assigns homework every class and online homework. In theory these are useful but when combined with all the other classes you are enrolled in, finding 5-6 hours a week to work on these can be difficult and may overwhelm to where you stop doing them.

He goes through notes relatively quickly, and all notes are posted online on the first day of class. He also does review in class before exams. Homeworks for statics are long and grading is incredibly inconsistent no matter who you have, but that is an issue with the course graders and not the professor. He isn't good at communication and has ignored many of my emails over the course of this semester. His grade weight is very skewed and is not set up for success. The error thresholds on the online homework is very small, leaving no room for decimal error, disregarding numerical insignificance. He is very intelligent, but I would not take him again!

Get ready for a tough semester if you are taking EAS207 regardless of professor. Ahmad would assign 2 homeworks a week on top of pop quizzes that were bi-weekly. EAS207 is made difficult on purpose as its the weed-out course for engineering majors. Although I will say Ahmad is very fair and lenient when grading exams as he is big on partial credit.

Great professor. He does lots of practice problems in lecture and is great at explaining the material. There is a lot of homework and it's a difficult class but he and his TAs are available outside of class for help. I would highly recommend.

Prof Ahmad is great because he tries to give you a really good understanding of how everything works. He tries to stress looking at the diagrams to truly understand why things work (in regards to bending, tension vs compression, etc) which is great. Exams are relatively easy given the study material. Very good lectures and helpful in office hours.

I took Statics w/Ahmad in the Fall of '10, but failed & got a degree in Math instead. I remember his class was VERY tough, but he was kind & friendly. My friend who struggled in this class is now a professional civil engineer, so I'd say you leave Ahmad's class over-prepared. If you earn at least a B with him, you can definitely be a good engineer.

This is the most homework you will probably ever have. Two sets of problems due every week, one online and one written. He's a funny guy, I think, but not very helpful and pretty rude in office hours. Expect to teach yourself.

Good teacher and actually pretty funny. Exams are pretty comparable to HW and practice tests and you will be well prepared. His notes are really good, typed up and always on UBLearns. Not joking that this class is statics part 2, so don't expect to do well if you're not solid on the basics of 207. Kind of an insane amount of HW too, but helpful.

One of my favorite professors I've had so far. His lectures are great, and his notes are even better for the most part. He can come across as arrogant and rude, and he is, but he is also caring if you take the time to pay attention to his lectures. The class isn't bad if you make sure to fully understand the homeworks.

Honestly, he is a good professor. However this is my first B in all of my academic history, and its toughly graded, so it stung a bit lol. But its statics, so its gotta kick your butt a little bit to prepare you. I took it during the summer so definitely harder. Id imagine its much easier during the normal semester- he is a good lecturer tbh.

he's a fine professor but he's mean. He's frequently called many ppl out (not just me) abt stuff during lectures which feels cruel. when i sent an email about a HW extension during an emergency (which i knew he wasn't going to grant) he called it out on exam day: “don't email me i won't give it to you”. it was just mean & made me embarrassed :(

I took this course over the summer, and Ahmad, as a professor, was pretty good. He can come off as rude, but at the end of the day, he cares that his students understand the material. Don't be scared to show up to his office hours, but get ready to devote a good amount of time to HW.

Lecture videos over the summer were excruciatingly boring to be honest, I recommend watching at like 1.75x, but the course isn't very difficult as the exams are graded very nicely, and the homeworks get you well prepared for exams, even if you don't want to study much.

Lectures are good, but the required materials are a dealbreaker. He requires a $130 online service that other sections do not use. The quizzes on this platform were disorganized and significantly harder than what was taught in class. If you are willing to overlook the price tag and the difficult online quizzes, he is a good teacher.
