if you're NOT good at math and you're in this class you better find a GOOD STUDY GROUP because those are the only people that can help you. her office hours are not convenient if you have a life and not much help in class she says ask your neighbor 3 tests optional final drops lowest grade, if you have a good group easy A if not good luck
YOU HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS. You will not do well if you take this course online. You have to see what she is doing in person.Very time consuming. There is no partial credit on the tests so if you make one little mistake then you get the ENTIRE THING WRONG, this is annoying when you have 4 problems on the test. would recommend if your up for the work.
Ms. Hafeez is really nice. She teaches pretty well too. just make sure you pay attention in class and do what she ask o-o.
you HAVE TO GO TO CLASS and PAY ATTENTION so you know what to do when the tests come around. content is not hard, but you will find that the material can be time-consuming. join a study group if you can; it can be your best friend in stats. HW is very tedious. 3 tests. optional final. i recommend if you are not a slacker student.
Ms Hafeez tries to teach things very quickly and always tells you to ask other people for help if there are too many people asking questions. I found her class to be very very time consuming and took over all my time doing the hw. The material is confusing. Ive always been good at math but I found this class to have very difficult material.
Challenging class but possible if you put in the effort. Quizzes and homework are important but not as much as the test. Study well in advance for the tests and know the formulas and how to use them like the back of your hand.
easiest class ever. everything is straight from the book. material is really easy too. I didn't really goto class that much except two days before the test cuz that is when she tells you whats on the test. Also you have to make casa your best friend.
Hilarious professor. Definitely makes STAT less boring. Attendance is MANDATORY to ace the tests. Everything is taught straight from the textbook. Do the practice problems and go to class a few days before the tests. She goes over problems and basically does the test for you.
I am horrible at math and have struggled with it my whole life, but Dr. Hafeez made understanding these mathematics easier. Unlike many professors she is available to help and is in the math lab constantly for YOU the student. Also, throughout the class she tells you what to highlight in the book to adequately prepare you for the exam.
The teacher is good. My biggest gripe about this class is the TEXTBOOK, which is more like a pamphlet and sets you up for failure unless you are really involved in class. There also weren't a lot of tutors at CASA familiar with the subject. Form study groups or fail!
She is straightforward and thorough. You won't learn much about the theory behind what you're learning but if you go to class;you'll do just fine.
Class is very easy. Material isn't too tough. Test come from homework and review questions.
Ms. Hafeez is the best stat teacher you will ever have. She is very helpful and EASY! The material itself is not that hard. She does everything possible to help her students do well in class. The test are just like the online quizzes and practice test. TAKE HER you won't regret it! EASY A!!
I honestly didn't like the way she taught. Although passing is possible by just paying attention in class, reading the book, and doing all her quizzes, homework, and reviews, her lectures are still very boring. So if you have short attention span, I wouldn't recommend her.
Probably one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. As long as you do your homework, do reviews, it's a guaranteed A! Recommend to everyone!
Great professor. Entertaining and clear.
The best math teacher I've ever had. As long as you do your practice exam and understand that, the exams are WORD for WORD like that.
great prof! get extra credit from doing practice exams. 3 tests. final is optional and comprehensive. do practice tests because the real exams are the same questions but with different numbers.
Math 2311: basic stats: To summarize: nice lady, crappy teacher. Most people were self-taught in the summer I class. Even with squeezing so much material in only 1 month, she would often dismiss class 50min early. Gets confused often.
I took her for Stats, over the summer and was very scared about the material. She will help you personally if you request it and Sofianne from CASA is a beast so look for him. The material isn't hard at all, just memorize the formulas, learn to <3 your calculator, and take the practice test as many times as possible to get an A!
This class was awesome! Professor Hafeez is so nice and cute (the way she talks is adorable). Very laid back and helpful. Her exams are just like the practice exams, and you get bonus points for doing them. This is the easiest class I have taken since college algebra. Definitely recommend this professor!
tests are exactly the same as practice tests just different numbers. you also get extra credit for doing practice tests. the class takes a lot of work and time but its easy
Great teacher! So helpful, nice, and her TA's are really good too. As long as you attend class and do the hw (which is pretty easy)you'll be fine! Even if math isn't your stongest subject, stats with this Professor is worth it :)
Professor Hafeez is AWESOME! i'd definitely recommend taking her! She's so funny and cute(the way she talks is adorable!) and she makes it fun for the whole class and easy to learn! Do the practice tests, the homework, the quizzes and come to class and its a guaranteed A!
Super easy A! TAKE HERRRR. She is hilarious, and made the class super simple. Just take the practice tests/quizzes because the tests are word for word, just different number. Definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. (: PS: She also lets the class out superrrr early.
Like every said, real easy class! Just go to class, follow along in her notes and look over the book if you need extra help! Tests are real easy, you shouldn't be able to fail this class even if you tried to!
Ms. Hafeez is possibly the best math teacher I have ever had. She is completely straightforward about what she puts on exams and she offers lots of extra credit. Just make sure to do all your homework,my class only had to turn in three sets and it's 8% of your grade.
Hafeez is the easiest math teacher i have ever had. you get unlimited attempts on the quizzes online and extra credit if you do the online practice tests. its impossible to fail unless you dont study for the 3 tests which are less than 9 questions each. i highly recommend her its an easy A.
AMAZING. Learned a ton in this class but I didn't feel like I was learning that much. Do the quizzes until you get 100%, it helps your grade a ton in the end. Got an A+ in the class.
The class was very easy. The quizzes and practice tests were very similar to the real tests. You get unlimited attempts on quizzes and 20 attempts on practice tests. You get extra credit if you take the practice tests. It's very easy as long as you do the work. No tricks. Very straight-forward and Hafeez is very willing to help.
I absolutly love this woman! I took her 2 years ago and she still helps me in CASA. she really cares about the student and will do everything in her power to help. Im taking her again this semester. =) COME TO CLASS!
this class is BORING! take her online bc in-class is BORING! her notes are just like the textbook and she basically repeats things from the book. havent taken any quiz/tests yet but ive heard they are extremely easy. read the other comments to know how the stuff is and rmr this class is BORING!!!!!!!!!!!
Class is boring. Must attend class for poppers.
Amazing Professor. Her teaching is great and she cracks a couple jokes here and there so its fun. Only concern: must attend class for poppers and she teaches fast so keep up! Tests are super easy if you do the Pre-test. The pre test gives you extra credit and you can take it up to 20 times. You may take the quizzes up to 20 times. But, Tedious HW :(
Horrible class and professor, she works fast and not clear. She does not hear you when you ask questions and is parnoid about what goes on. You must attend class, do quizes and homework. It was a horrible class. Dont take it.
I hated math prior to taking this class, she's so helpful. Always available to answer questions. TAKE HER!
Dr. Hafeez makes stats enjoyable. I abhor math of any kind, but her spirit made me want to earn a great grade for me and her. Fantastic lady, fantastic professor, and makes the class realistic for everyone. In other words, she makes it possible for everyone to succeed if you just do your part. She is loyal on her office hours and has a huge heart!
Easy class! She is always available in the tutoring center if you need help. Alot of HW but tests are pretty easy. Just don't procastinate!
Great teacher. I'm not a "math" person. Follow the syllabus and do the "optional" pre-test practice exams and you will do great. Professor Hafeez is always available for support.
Good professor. Taught lessons well and tutoring was always available. Do your work, come to class, and you earn the grade.
Mrs. Hafeez was a great teacher and I enjoyed the experience. I am not a math person but her outline for course work was clear and she explained to the class exactly what needs to be done to do well. I used the book and class notes. The practice tests are very helpful and bonus points are awarded for these. Study hard like I did and make an A.
Professor Hafeez is an awesome teacher! She helps anyone who actively seeks help and will answer your questions directly. She has no problem explaining things during class and I highly recommend her for statistics.
I love her online notes and that she puts the textbook online. It's really unnecessary if you have a laptop to spend the money on a book! Just open the notes and follow along during class. She's also really helpful if you ask her!
Easiest A ever...if you fail her class, there's something wrong with you! Not gonna attend class? Get a friend to turn in poppers for you. Do the hw, quizzes (with unlimited tries), and pretest (EC if you get a >70 with 20 freakin attempts!)
Prof Hafeez is a kind and good person and very pleasant to deal with. She gives ample opportunities for extra credit. If you are a math phobic like me be prepared to work hard. But you will be rewarded for all that work. I highly recommend her to any fellow math phobic. She is an A+ prof
EASY class. 2-3 homework assignments due online every week. 3-5 quizzes online quizzes due every month or so, 20 chances to do each one. Daily quizzes in class for attendance. She is very efficient at teaching and hardly EVER keeps the class for its full scheduled time. My class usually got out 20 minutes to 50 minutes early. (90 minute class)
This lady is awesome. I took her online class and I felt like it was more personable than my face to face classes. She lectures and is open to any questions. She is also very nice.
She is extremely helpful! I took he lecture and if you attend class and pay attention you will make an A. You just take three test with an optional finial along with easy easy quizzes. Best professor I had so far.
Prof very helpful. She spends time in CASA helping with homework and quizzes. You take quizzes and turn in HW weekly. 3 exams plus a final but one of those scores will be dropped. It's possible you don't have to take the final if you like your grade. do the work and you will do well.
Attendance is pretty much mandatory (it's math, go figure!). She knows her stuff and is very considerate about slowing down in class & taking plenty of questions. There's a popper every class meeting so you NEED to attend. Textbook is on Blackboard. Tests=exactly like the practice tests and her in-class reviews go over everthing
Easy A as long as you go to class! Lecture is usually half an hour and then half an hour on the popper which she helps with. 4 tests, drops the lowest. Weekly homework but usually just two or three problems. Professor Hafeez is awesome, no matter what type of student you are. She REALLY simplifies math and is incredibly helpful!
Wow, Professor Hafeez is awesome. Definitely recommend her class! She sticks to the book, she's extremely straightforward and she respects our time by moving efficiently through the lecture. If you don't consider yourself a "math person", do not fear! She makes stat super easy! Go to class and do the work and you'll be golden.
FABULOUS TEACHER! Everybody scared me about stats, and how hard it was. This class with Hafeez was so helpful though, i actually learned something, AND I UNDERSTOOD. I'm horrible at math, and needed this class for my major, and i'm so happy it was an easy A
She is a very nice teacher. Always willing to stay after class and answer any questions. But she is not clear all the time, I was sometimes very confused and had to use the textbook videos. I had a pleasant experience overall.
I only went to class because of the poppers because honestly, she moved on during the lecture too fast. I learned everything the night before the exam and I got A's. TAKE THE QUIZZES, it WILL mess up your grade if you have a low quiz average. Please don't talk during class cause she WILL call you out or stare at you with her big eyes! hahaha
Hafeez was great. Attendance is in the form of a short quiz and makes up 9% of your grade. There are 3 exams and an optional final! Super easy class, just make sure to KEEP UP WITH YOUR QUIZ DUE DATES. She tends to change them up! PAY ATTENTION TO THE ONLINE QUIZZES! THEY'RE 30% OF YOUR GRADE.
Hafeez was an amazing professor! I took stats over the winter mini and while it was pretty rigorous I was still able to make an A. Just do the quizzes and practice tests and you'll do great on the tests!I usually struggle a lot in math classes, but Hafeez was straight forward and to the point about everything that we needed to know.
Goes fast! she does not care about any student other then the money she will be making from you.
She's super funny and very helpful and loves to answer questions during class! The course is easy and the material is not difficult at all. She likes to recommend that you make study groups and study at casa which can be helpful if you need it. The tests are EXACTLY like the practice tests and she drops the lowest exam. Take her, she's the best!
Super Easy!!! Go to class & take notes and you will be fine!!! Sometimes she can go fast but she posts all of her notes online and you can go back and review. Do the homeworks & youre golden. Online Quizzes were hard; but the tests were more like homeworks. Be prepared for tests; less than 10 questions on all tests
AMAZING PROFESSOR, I hate math & she made things crystal clear for me! I made an A in her class, she is so funny % very helpful. MUST TAKE HER! textbook is handy.
Professor Hafeez is HILARIOUS and she doesn't even know it. Love her class. Best math class I've had so far. Not exactly easy but I could see it being much harder.
Unclear. Goes too fast. Doesn't explain course policies. Not helpful.
Goes fast, has confusing dates listed as to when items are due. At one time she wrote a different date for homework to be due, after I did it and tried to turn it in, the date was the day before she said it was due. I emailed her and she wouldn't let me turn it in, even though she had written down the wrong date.
Hafeez is FUNNY! She teaches on the overhead. Goes super fast so you have to keep up. 3 exams. If you have a B- average or better, don't have to take final. Practice tests give you up to 10 extra credit points on EACH exam. Exams are only 8 problems. I used my book every lecture helped me out alot. drops 2 quizzes and 2 homeworks at the end.
Hafeez is AMAZING. While she does have an accent she will repeat things if needed. Make sure to keep up on the homework and quizes as that will determine your final grade. Tests are just like the practice tests so do these. If you don't make at least a C in her class, then you were just plain lazy and stupid.
Book is not needed for the class, because she gives you slides with all her notes. Class is not mandatory, but is kind of helpful. Made an A, just use the practice test for a guide! Weekly homeworks with about 10 quizzes total.
She gave a very fair grading. Lots of extra points. There're in-class poppers, but she often tell students the answer. I would take her again in another class if I have a chance
Best teacher ever, I studied one day before the tests, got to opt out of the final, and made an A. She is very funny too, and if you goof off in class, she will come over and sit next to you
Swapped classes with another teacher. I am terrible at. math and she is not helpful at all. Way to fast and I do not recommend her. She will not slow down or try to help you if you don't understand
More annoying than funny. Honestly wouldn't come to class if it weren't for the poppers. I looked at Dr. George's notes online instead, they are much clearer and more helpful. The exams are very easy, but take George instead if you have the option. " if you don't have calculator, I throw you out!"
If it wasn't for the poppers no one would show up. She only served to confuse us more when trying to explain things and when we asked questions in class or tried to explain something to our neighbor she would get snippy and rude. Often insisted that we know things that we had never gone over, but she does seem to grade fairly. Would not take again.
Although I have an A in the class, I would NEVER take this class again with this teacher. She is very confusing and often makes mistakes. A calculator is mandatory for her class, as she will not teach you how to solve problems with formulas. This is easy to make an A if you work. She does give you extra credit too.
She's awful. Although I have an A it's only because I do all the work myself. She can't teach, she can't even do math. She's always making mistakes and has to ask the students how to fix them. Save yourself the trouble, she's not worth it.
DO NOT TAKE HER! She's a horrible teacher, you basically have to teach yourself everything. I took her because people had previously rated her well, but she's not good.
She's the worst. Don't take her
THE WORST TEACHER ON CAMPUS. HER NOTES MAKE NO SENSE. THIS CLASS IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST REGRET OF MY COLLEGE CAREER. TAKE IF YOU WANT YOUR GPA TO DIE.
She doesn't explain things clearly, Very confusing. She messed up 2 of my popper grades. you have to stay on her because she makes a ton of mistakes. the class basically has to tell her the answers!!
She changed at least one answer on every quiz once the students asked her to show them how it was done.I am fairly good at math but was consistently confused. She wont answer very many questions unless you see her during her late office hours. She always picks on you if you ask questions in class(which is why people think she's funny)
She's an awful teacher. She's rude, inconsiderate, and knows absolutely nothing about Statistics. She makes mistakes frequently and if wasn't for the poppers, no one would be in class. That being said, it's a fairly easy class to teach yourself. Do not rely on her to get a good grade in the class.
Gives a ton of extra credit! Looked over notes, did hw and quizzes, took practice test and got an A. She has tutoring almost every day
DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MATH. I read her reviews on here before registering to her class but I was very misled. I ended up referring to another professors notes for reference because I just could not understand her.
Alright i'll be honest. She isn't the best of professors. The only reason I didn't take it online with Bekkie George is because I heard the online classes HAVE to take the final. Hafeez lets you opt out of it if you have a minimum of a B- I luckily got an A by just showing up to class for poppers and using Professor Geroges notes and vids for tests
I only showed up for poppers. I studied night before exams, she gives 10 extra points if you do the reviews or practice tests. It was hard to understand the lecture so I had to teach myself; still I got an A in this class
She's not that good of a teacher. She rushes her notes and if you don't understand, she'll tell you to ask for help from someone else. She expects you to learn Statistics quickly. I was away from a C- by a few points, so you get what you earn. I hate math.
NO HELP AT ALL! She is practically useless, had to teach myself everything. I ended up using the online teacher's notes.
I don't get why people are complaining about her!Class is always less than 30 min, info is basically how to do mean median and mode for like half of the semester, she gives 10 bonus points for tests and at the end she drops like 3 of everything. She is also at Casa twice a week and is willing to help. I feel like it would be impossible to fail..
Okay, so she's definitely not the best teacher and probably confused the class more than she helped. You will have to teach yourself. However, having said that, the structure of the class is easy because of the massive amount of extra credit she gives and the fact that she curved at the end. My final avg was a 110, and all i need for an a was a 90
She definitely confused me more than helped. With that being said though, the class was really easy. There is homework due every week that is easy to complete using the online book. She also posts a review before every test which is almost exactly like the test. I ended up with an A despite only studying for the tests 30 minutes before taking them.
Casa will be your BFF!! Test pretty easy if you study. so easy to make hundreds on hw and quizzes because you get like 20 attempts. I would take her again!!
Professor Hafeez is awesome. She does do poppers ever class, easy attendance grade. Book is used for homework, quizzes every week. She will stop, slow down, or repeat if you ask, and she offers to help outside of class all the time. if you need help she's there. Love her class
She is an awesome teacher, would definitely take her. She explains stuff very clearly and takes the time to really help you if you go see her for help.
Horrible professor. Disorganized, bad listener, incredibly fast pace, she teaches to the A students. If you're a wiz at math, you'll do fine in her class, otherwise you'll need to teach yourself or get help from a friend or a tutor.
Worst professor I've EVER had! Pace is ridiculously fast. Her goal is to get out early. She teaches to the math wiz's in class and thinks that when no one answers her that it means everyone is fine when it really means everyone is lost.
It's been 5 yrs since i took alg & i hate math but i thought it was easy, extremely fast paced which should be assumed with any mini semester.Do the quizzes on time. The final exam is exactly like the review & if you have any questions she is more than willing to help. As long as you do the work & ask for help its easy.plus there's extra credit
Nice lady but hard to keep up with her fast paced lectures. It's hard for me to keep up and she doesn't explain how you get the answer, she just does it really fast. Her accent makes it hard to understand as well. I have no idea as to what's going on in class. Don't recommend her.
I took Professor Hafiz for Stats over the summer semester. She explained things very well and her tests are exactly like the review just with different numbers. I am not good at math at all I don''t have a strong math background but I found if you do the homework and concentrate on the review then you will get an A. You will learn something too
There are a LOT of assignments (homework, quizzes, lecture quizzes, exams), and you almost have to be in one of the online lectures a week to pass. The work itself is not particularly difficult, but make sure that you turn it all in weekly. The exams are not particularly difficult, but you do need to know the material well.
College Algebra is easy for me, so I enjoyed her to-the-point explanations and fast paced lectures. If you do have a question or need her to slow down though, she definitely will. There's really no way you could fail. Extra credit for every test, 20 attempts on quizzes, pretty easy homework. Just go to the lecture, pay attention, and you'll pass.
You will not learn anything from the lecture, but thankfully the subject is easy enough to teach yourself. She rushes through the material to end class early, which is sort of bitter sweet. She required all of us to buy graphing calcs bc R Studio was too difficult to use. The reviews are very helpful though, as they are very similar to the test.
Professor Hafeez walked in 10 minutes late on the 1st day. I didn't learn a single thing from her lectures. She would constantly make mistakes on problems. I taught myself how to solve every problem by using the bookinternet. I only attended class for the attendance(popper) points. Do not take her class unless you plan on being your own professor.
I loved this class! Professor Hafeez was very helpful. She did not mind helping you at all. Class is sort of face paced, but it is manageable. If you have to take College Algebra online, take her
popper everday. very confusing and hard to understand at times, but shes always at CASA to help. at the end of the semester she drops a few grades and it really helps
Professor made the class super easy. We had printable notes you can take to class and follow along with her clear and straightforward teaching. Class attendance mandatory due to daily popper. Class was an easy A; I even got to opt out of the final for having higher than a B- ! Highly recommend!
Hafeez is overall a good professor. Although she made mistakes a couple of times during lecture, she made the class enjoyable with her sense of humor. She's a really nice lady and her reviews were extremely similar to the exams. Dropped a bunch of hw, quiz, and popper grades. Made my 94 go up to a 99 & helpedgave free popper answers.
Where do I begin, hafeez is very..... Different. The current ratings are pretty accurate. She is funny and her class is kind of easy however if you want to actually learn something don't take her. She messes up a lot on problems which makes it very confusing, and with her accent it's even worse. She comes off as if she doesn't know what she's doing
Something like 30 homework assignments, 12 quizzes ,and 5 tests. Homework and quizzes can be completed with the mathway website. Study the material the day before the test, and you should easily pass the tests. As long as you have a B- average at the end of the semester, then you're exempt from the final and she bumps your average up to an A-.
She would do one example of a practice exam before the test. Class was not hard at all unless math is not your favorite subject. Overall, she may have an accent but not strong enough to confuse you. She is very nice and helpful, if you need extra help, go to Casa tutoring. If you needed extra review, she invites you to attend her face to face class
For an online math class, Shahinda made the course as painless as possible--as painless as a math class gets for a non-math related major. If you're a distant education student like I was, she really works with you to make sure your nearest testing center getssends back your tests. If you get a B+ in the class you don't have to take the final!
In class its hard to grasp the concept of the lesson since she goes so fast and she doesn't go over the practice test and quizzes like some other professors do. Hafeez is also really bad about explaining how to use the calculator or R-Studio which is necessary for the tests. Poppers daily so show up for the grade. She offers tutorials at GAR-casa.
Worst teacher ever, she has no idea what she's doing. Can't explain anything and passes students questions off to other students. Her notes and reviews suck.
Professor Hafeez was an average professor. She was very helpful both in class and in CASA. Her lectures were fairly clear, but sometimes homework had questions that was she did not go over in class nor was it in the textbook. Calculator is a MUST! If you don't have it for class, you can't keep up with the lecture.
She is very unclear and class is very boring. She gives really tough homework which she doesn't go over. If you ask for help she will pass you on to another student or say "ask a friend". Her test are okay but the last test was really tough. She doesn't round up at all. I got an 89.953 and she didn't round it up. Don't take her.
I think Mrs. Hafeez is fantastic! She is kind and helpful and truly seems to want to help and wants you to be successful. She is the best teacher I have had in the UH math department. Most are horrible. Mrs. Hafeez cares so much. I am a senior but if I had more math to take I would take it with her! She is fantastic, kind, patient, and funny
I have no clue how she has gotten bad reviews, she was flat out outstanding as a professor. Can she be had to understand, sure but if you just follow along and do what you have to do this class is a breeze. I am guessing those rating her bad are the ones that did nothing and expected her to spoon feed them and pass them on through.
Easiest class ever! There are like 5 tests but made 100 on almost all of them. Not only that, but you get extra credit of 10% of the grade you made on the practice test. 100 on practice test? 10 points added to test. Don't blow off the class though, there is homework and poppers. They are so easy but if you don't do them your grade might suffer.
Do not take the Math 2311 Mini with this instructor. Though she is clearly well versed on the course material there were too few lectures and opportunity to actually learn. When she did lecture they were extremely long and at unrealistic pace. Student success very difficult.
Took her for summer session. The class itself was set up great but she is not the best that I've had. She's hard to understand & gets a lot of things wrong when she lectures and then asks why you didn't correct her?
She is so difficult to understand, and her class was very demanding. She did not explain things clearly either, and was constantly making mistakes. Her tests are pretty tough, and she does poppers every class so make sure you go. I would not recommend her as a teacher, but she seems to be a very sweet and funny person outside of the classroom.
Tons of homework and weekly quizzes. Lectures are short and to the point, however she does make frequent math mistakes when doing examples (minor though). Poppers are given daily in class, but she is always there to help you with them. She gives extra credit on each exam from the practice test. If you are strong in math, you should do fine.
Lots of poppers, quizzes, tests, and homework. I took her online course. Her lectures were pretty easy to follow. This course was work intensive, it was still easy for the most part. Just make sure you do her poppers and quizzes, and you should be fine. She was also always willing to help.
Take her she will help you
Good professor! Just pay attention and print out the notes before class. She usually lets class out early and is extremely helpful. As long as long as you do the work, you'll be fine. She's been one of the best math teachers I've ever had.
Mrs. Hafeez is kind and hilarious. She offers help to students after class should they ask for it. However, if math is not your strong suit do not take her class. She makes mistakes in almost every lecture and always has students double check to make sure she did it right. This class is more for students who already have a strong basis in math.
Easy class, took this class online. Just has to keep up with homework and poppers. She's very bad at replying to emails, and updating the grades. need textbook for homework problems.
Poppers are used daily, and count as part of your grade, so don't skip. Her English is a lil poor, but I understood her fairly well. Standard math class. Quizzes, homework, and tests are all expected. Nothing incredibly difficult if you somewhat pay attention. E-textbook is required, though hardly used. But it is needed to access homework, quizzes.
Lots of work but you can retake quizzes up to 20 times so take advantage.
she's a hilarious professor and very fast pace. she will dismiss you way earlier than expected, she used to dismiss us sometimes 10 minutes after the lecture started. she's very brief and to the point, she tells you WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. just show up and do your homework.
She is very fast paced and really sweet. Professor Haffeez is more than willing to help if you ask her. It isn't a hard class if you keep up with the work given. Test are similar to the review.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She does not let you make up for any work no matter what happened. She does not explain how everything works in her class. Easy class, horrible professor. She does not need to be a teacher, she needs to be nicer to her students and care about them.
She really knows how to teach her class. Her lectures are usually very short but are packed with the material that she teaches it in a very humorous way. I would take her again if given the opportunity.
She does not respond to emails in a timely manner. I would choose a different professor to take if possible. Her online class is very long and she goes too fast. She is not very helpful either.
Covers material at a VERY fast pace. Hard to keep up with, and will leave you behind. Gives daily pop quizzes, but allows group work. At least 2-3 homework assignments AND a quiz for each objective. Tests are actually easier than the classwork. Can be frustrating and disorganized, but let's out early usually. Use online textbook, it helps.
Really nice professor but doesn't reply to emails, makes tons of mistakes during lectures, and she's not very clear. I took her for math2311, luckily it's an easy math class class so you are better off teaching yourself. But show up to class for the Daily poppers and do ALL homework and quizzes.
Prof. Hafeez is a very nice individual. However, I often found myself lost in her lectures as she tends to be really fast. You cannot make up ANY assignments, even if you have a doctor's note. She gives DAILY poppers. How to pass this class: Show up & do the poppers. Do the practice exams. Do ALL the quizzes and homeworks. Read the online book.
If you can, choose a different professor. She does not go over her lectures before class, she basically wings it. She will start a problem and be half way done but erase the work she has shown the class and say there is a different way to work out the problem. She is not helpful at all, especially if you try to email her. Do not take her class.
This class is extremely easy if you do the work. The lectures are posted online, you are expected to use a calculator on all of your work, and much of the material is probably familiar to you. There is a fair amount of homework, but its graded fairly easily as well. Keep up, practice lots, and you will make an A.
If you can choose another teacher then you should. She does not care about her students. if you take her, you're better off teaching yourself.
Do not take this professor, especially online. She has no teaching skills whatsoever and she does not care about the class or respect her students. I taught myself the whole semester.
She is a nice lady, but you can tell she is not prepared each class. She tries and to do problems in front of class but students end up correcting her or showing her how to do the problem. Sometimes you wonder if she knows what she is talking about, and find yourself lost at times during her lecture. I really taught myself how to do the work.
She is very clear in lectures, and is always accurate when reviewing for exams. She is well respected by the students, because she in turn respects us. Recommend her for stats for any major.
I took this class online and at first it was pretty easy because I was good at algebra in high school but then there were a lot of things I could not remember and had to read the textbook and watch videos to understand. PS THE TEXTBOOK IS PROVIDED BY THE TEACHER. Also, there are NO lessons, so only take it online if you're good at algebra.
The poppers and homework are not difficult at all. The tests you can get 10 bonus points on by doing practice tests. You get 20 chances for quizzes. The online course was very easy and simple. Easy A if you actually try to learn the material.
Professor Hafeez is a decent math professor. She has a very hard accent so it can be hard to understand her at times. she takes the time to answer homework problems and answer questions. there is a lot of homework like any math class and test are only 12 problems max so study the math and take notes. Great class for getting ready for college math.
Hafeez is great, always encouraging students to study together, always willing to answer questions after class. You can blow this class off a little bit and still pass, but apply yourself a bit and it's an A. Fun lectures, but lots of homework, as is normal for UH math classes.
Really nice teacher. Her accent is hard to understand at first but then you get used to it. She's older but knows her stuff and plays with the class a lot. The grades aren't hard and for the in class mini quizzes she basically works the answer out with you every time. I would definitely recommend this class to others.
She was a good online professor, but it does move fast and the work load is heavy. The semester isnt over yet, but I think my grade is pretty good so far. Math has never been my strong subject, but with tons of work I have done well in this course. Glad it was online so I could watch the lectures back and pause. Tons of youtube vids as well.
Hafeez is quite funny and she is NOT a bad professor. There are poppers everyday in class, but it's okay to skip class every once in awhile. There is a lot of hw assignments, quizzes, and only 4 exams and a final that you CANNOT opt out of. Super easy class if you are "okay" at math. EASY A. All her lecture notes are posted online too.
I took her course online and although I didn't like the online aspect, I truly loved her teaching. She is very funny and caring of her students. She will stay after class hours and help those who need it. I selected lecture heavy because it's all online so it is, lol. Watch her lectures, do her work, & the test will be very easy! An A is possible!
Hafeez is extremely sarcastic and a bit stubborn but overall a good teacher and is willing to answer any questions you may have. Poppers every class session, but are easy. Homework and EMCF due every week, 3 tests and an optional final to replace lowest test grade.
This is a review for her WINTER MINI SESH STATS 2311 First of all, she's very engaging in her live lectures. She cares a lot about her students, often offering to meet w/ us at UH to help. Since this course is only a month long, it's reasonable that she goes at fast pace, so pay attention or self study a little. 3 Tests, quizzes, and poppers.
Ms. Hafeez seemed ill-prepared for class, and normally just winged her teaching. Still, as long as you do the homework, quizzes, and in-class "poppers" (daily-work that she uses to check attendance), than you'll be fine. This class is easy to pass, as long as you do the necessary work.
Currently in her class and it's so easy! just pay attention to her notes, do the practice tests, poppers and quizzes and you should be fine.10% of your grade from your practice test is added to the exam grade. Also if you're happy with your grade after the 3 exams you don't have to take the final. She is very sassy and sarcastic but i find it funny
Took this class as winter mini. Lectures were all over the place which made it difficult to follow. Overall do not take her an online class.
She tends to be unorganized, messy with her handwriting and unattentive to the blackboard chat when we, as the students, try to correct her. It was to the point where I actually had to not go to her online class anymore because all she did was confuse me more than she taught me. All in all, I got an A by self-study and teaching.
Ms. Hafeez isn't a bad professor, but she's not going to spoon feed you. If you're good in math and have good study habits, I would say take her. If not, it's best to take someone else. She goes pretty fast so it can be hard to understand what's going on. I passed with an A but I studied my butt off. Her reviews help a ton for tests.
This class is really what you put into it. The Homework really helped if you at least try to do it before going to class. It was a usual Math class, she would solve math problems with everyone and she will answer any question we had. The class can be easy if you really do the homework.
She makes a lot of mistakes when she does problems on the board, so you have to correct her a lot. It is also difficult to understand her. The good thing is she does the math problems then posts them on her website, so you can look over them later. Quizzes due every 3 days, even on Saturdays, and homework due every week. Poppers are a big thing.
There is a slight communication barrier with her speech which is manageable but, her email etiquette is not very good. She doesn't read your questions fully and answers only half of your questions IF she even responds. Her lectures can be confusing because she gets lost. Her syllabus was very unorganized including the calendar.
She can be a mess. Her online lectures are everywhere. Sometimes she forgets to record half the time and if you're not watching it live then good luck. But the material was easy. Stuff you learned in high school so it wasn't a problem.
I am not good at math and she made it very easy to understand. I took this class online and her lectures are posted if you cant log on when shes on. There is homework quizzes and poppers due every week but relatively easy if you follow along. Exams are taken at casa and easy as long as you study and do your work for the class.
This course is very heavy on online HW and quizzes. There is four exams and the reviews tend to be helpful.
This online class has lectures twice a week. There are pop quizzes (poppers) in every lecture, practice exams mimic the real exams and your grade on the practice gives you extra credit toward the exams. You have 20 attempts to get 100 on your quizzes and practice exams. You have the option to opt out of the final if you maintain a B or above.
Took this class for winter mini. I don't recommend her in terms of her notes since her notes are disorganize and lectures are pointless to attend. If you plan on taking mini, be prepare to work hard since this class. Test is like the practice exam, so do it! Try your best to do well on the first 2 exams since exams get harder. There was no final.
Her class was an easy A. The only thing you really need to do is just study her test and you're good. She sometimes messes up but overall she's a great professor.
I am currently in 1311 online with professor Hafeez. The class layout is very clear. Email response was ok at times response were short & unclear. More importantly, this was an easy A, if you do the homework, take every quiz and remember the poppers. There are several opportunities to do well. I have never been a math person and I did very well!
Not a very good teacher. Lectures are long and you walk away learning nothing. Don't take her - I respect her origins, but she has a heavy accent and it's quite hard to understand her sometimes. Also, she is BAD AT MATH. Makes MANY mistakes and often confuses the entire class. Stay away from her if you're taking her in a big lecture...
Profesor Hafeez is an okay math professor. She knows the material pretty well. The only reason you need to attend class is because of the poppers. If you don't get something you can always ask her questions.
I took her online class and it was super easy. I am not good at math at all and passed this class with an A. The exams are exactly like the practice exams, and quizzes have 20 attempts. Just do your hw, quizzes, poppers and you will pass. The lecture videos are easy to follow and help greatly with the hw and poppers.
She's not only a great teacher but a wonderful person. She's very understanding she even let me bring my kids to class so that I wouldn't miss out on class. She also personally tutor before and after class. I just loved everything about her class.
Easy if you already know how to do algebra. The lectures are not mandatory to watch however there is a popper in each lecture that you need to complete. Lectures do not help me. Tests in CASA. All work due on Sundays (quiz) and Mondays (20 question homework, two 3 question poppers). Hard to get good answers from her, communication isn't clear.
It was a easy class! She moves fast in class but if you ask her to slow down she is very willing to do so. I highly recommend printing out the blank notes before class and fill them in during lecture. It helps a ton throughout the semester. She keeps all the blank notes on her website, along with practice tests that also help sooo much!!!!
Took her as an online teacher. Her mic system is terrible, with her breathing and moving around I could barely undestand some of the stuff she said, but I made up for it by looking at the attached notes she added on to the video; so listening to her was just for you to realize HOW shes solving problems. One of the easiest classes taken. Work weekly
Easiest math class I have ever taken in my entire life. You do need the textbook for homework, and there's one every week along with an online quiz that you have 20 attempts for. Tests are super easy; exactly like the practice test. Poppers every day in class. Super Easy A. I had a 115 by the end of the semester.
Must go to class because you have a popper due each day and dont forget to do the homework/quizzes. As well, use practice tests not only is it extra credit towards test but its an almost exact copy for the actual test, Quizzes you have 20 attempts. She drops 15% of poppers, 2 quizzes, 2 homework at end of semester. If you get B you can opt final.
There are daily poppers (pop-quizzes) that she uses to take attendance. She is so nice and funny but is firm when she has to be. The tests are online and you can do the at home on your computer. What I will say is that if you miss a lecture or two.. you'll have to teach that to yourself because she moves quickly through material.
Shes hilarious.
she goes over lecture to fast , make sure that you do all your quizzes ( there is allot ). she has many things due at once like 3 homework's and a quiz. than the following week you might have a test that you have to do . make sure that you bubble your papers since she will not go back and give you credit if you do not bubble correctly. worst class!
Don't miss class unless you have to because they are daily poppers that are graded. You have homework and quizzes due every week. She is very interactive with the students and helps you if you are struggling. She walks around class to make sure you are understanding the material. Plus, she can be funny sometimes.
Terrible professor. She is very nice and means well but does not teach the subject well. Goes way too fast during lecture and it is hard to grasp the concepts. I ended up teaching myself for the majority of this course. Even when I ask for help she would never help me actually understand the problems.
She was an ok professor. Since this was an online course, there were pop questions due every week after you watch her lectures. The pop questions were easy but it didnt really teach you much . She had long lectures but kind of gave you the answers to the pop questions which defeated the point of answering the pop questions. I didnt learn much .
This professor reads from a paper over material she is proficient in (no explanations!). I had to teach myself 99% of the material in order to pass her test/quizzes/poppers. Do not take her if you don't have a good understanding of math already.
I would say she's a pretty decent professor. She's straight forward when it comes to lessons and she doesn't pause at all. However, she loves it whenever students ask questions, she will take her time to answer questions. Students will often leave handwritten problems and she'll simply work it out throughout the lesson.
I took Professor Hafeezs online for math 1311. It is not that difficult but if you cant manage your time I dont recommend. We have poppers, homework, and quizzes every week. Before midterms she provides a review the exact same as the test which makes it easier to nail the test. The only thing id complain about, is her not responding to emails.
She talks really fast and without a mic, I had to drop the class because her instructions weren't clear at all and I couldn't hear her. Not a bad person- just a bad presenter. I wanted to do the work, but it just wasn't feasible.
Shes a pretty good teacher and doesn't stop during the lecture. Before Tests, she'll review some questions. My only complain is that she teaches so fast and doesn't give students enough time to write down whats on the board. In this situation, I just refer to the textbook online and write what I missed.
She wasn't a good teacher. She teaches very fast and is a little difficult to follow. When I emailed her in the past her responses were not effective and what I was looking for. Don't recommend.
Lectures can be very frustrating when you ask a question and she doesn't understand what you mean and when the class constantly has to correct her work on the board, but if you pay attention to the concepts you'll do good on the tests, quiz and homework. Lots of homework so beware.
Gave out poppers for each class that was graded and used as attendance, very informative lectures where if you miss one class then youll miss out on a lot. Assigned homework weekly and two quizzes as well so it was a bit of a struggle to keep up but doable if done on time.
Daily poppers so must attend class. Weekly homework and quizzes that are pretty easy, and she is willing to help with. Tests are exactly like the review so easy A. if you take all 3 test and maintain a B average NO FINAL!!! which is easy to do in her class. She is nice and is always making sure the class understands the material
Easy class, good lectures, funny and nice professor . Lots of online tests and homework
her accent is so confusing, she messes up on her own work and doesn't realize, doesn't know anything about assignments, always has to ask the moderator. terrible at explaining, too many assignments thrown at you at once. not worth the credit at all, if you're even able to pass the class.
She seems intimidating at first, but shes actually a great professor!
I have taken Hafeez 2x for Math 1310(face to face) and for Stats 2311(online-summer mini). Daily Poppers, Weekly Quizzes(20 attempts per quiz), 3 Tests(1 monitored attempt), 1 Final(opt out available with B- <). If you miss assignments or skip lectures, you can still pass because of the many opportunities for grades.
It's harder than most online classes because her recorded lectures aren't very specific to the hw/quizzes and the textbook for the class isn't the best for learning HOW to do the actual problem. It's mostly just exercises. It doesn't help that deadlines were super disorganized in the beginning and some pdf's weren't available to some people.
Currently taking her for online math. She doesn't teach, just does examples of problems without really explaining the concepts. Her recorded lectures are unclear and the combination of bad video quality and constant paper rustling in the background make them mostly useless. Given previous reviews, she might be a better teacher in-person.
She provided recorded lectures, changes her calander later in the semester but most of the assignments are listed at the beginning. Pretty clear cut, follow along the lecture, do the "popper" based on the lecture, do the homework every week, do the quiz every week, and study for the tests based on the online assignments provided in CASA.
First of all, this professor is a total mess. She always messes up on her on work, for example, how are 2 times 2 10 lmao. There's no extra credit ever, even if you need to make something up she will not allow it. Also, if you don't understand strong accents then your screwed.
I had to take Professor Hafeez for her credit and I wasn't excited about taking college algebra but she is an amazing professor. Her lectures are easy to follow, homework is fairly easy, and her quizzes aren't long. She has all of her due dates posted weeks in advance and just as long as you get them done you'll pass!
If you dont have an A in this class its on you! She answers emails within a day and has optional lectures as well as uploaded lectures on CASA. There is homework every week but it is manageable along with 2 weekly quizzes. She messes up sometimes on lectures but almost always follows up with corrections!
Passing this class is not a struggle. She posts a lecture for each topic, and you can join the optional zoom calls during scheduled class time if you need any help. Super accessible and gives a lot of good resources. If you're failing that's 100% on you.
She is a great professor. Sometimes her explanations are difficult to understand but she does want to help you. Lots of homework but it follows the test. There are poppers, hw, and quizzes. Do practice test and review test because it's similar to the test! Not hard to get an A.
She's really understanding of students at home situations. Every week you have 20 questions hw assignment (half in the textbook), 1-2 mini-quizzes or popper about 3 questions, and a weekly quiz over all the new material learned which is 10 questions. Also 2 major tests. It seems like a lot but it's not. Use CASA TUTORS! Just stay on top of the work
Her lectures introduced the material, the homework is meant for practice, and the tests all have reviews. She does poppers at the end of each lecture as an easy supplement. If you don't understand her lectures there is tutoring provided. I did the odd problems in the textbook to teach myself the material.
When my dad died unexpectedly and I emailed her asking for some some extensions (since I had to attend funerals and take care of my family) and she emailed back sorry there are no make ups in the course : that sums her up.
This class was easy for me, just go over the lecture, do the homework and quiz and that's it. The reviews for the test are the exact same but just switched up the numbers. Everything in this class is all from high school basically. Professor was good, everything was asynchronous so never really met her.
Professor Hafeez's online class is easy for those that have taken highschool math courses before, it might be hard if you haven't. She has lecture videos that include a quiz in the end, but most of the time she gives the answer if you actually listen to the lecture. She can be reached if you need her, but I never did. Just do the work and it's easy
During some lectures, this prof makes noticeable mistakes that sometimes can catch you off guard. Some mistakes shouldn't be made by someone who teaches math, such as accidentally swapping signs. Others are harder to catch - and can really fool people. Luckily I caught on to most of them, but I have gotten screwed over before due to this.
Does not explain concepts. She works examples, but it's usually just writing equations and then the answer, not explaining how to solve them. I would email her with questions or asking for clarity, and she was rude and unhelpful. She graded my poppers incorrectly. Lectures are confusing and a lot of the times her answers aren't even right. Ugh
Really nice person and helpful but teaching method will get you confused within the first 2 minutes of class
is very forgetful ,gets most answers wrong, she often forgets about office hours
She doesn't even know what she's teaching. In class, people have asked for problem explanations and she says she's not sure. How is she not sure if she made the problems?? Not very helpful and 4 quizzes are due every single week.
She usally makes so many mistakes in class shows up to the wrong office hours and then blames us for not making it when it was her fault
Hafeez is probably the worst professor at UH. She is so unorganized. She can't even answer her own hw. She will not teach you anything, besides telling you to go to the library to study yourself. Her class is a waste of time and useless. She overcomplicated things when they are not. She is easily distracted. Often off topics.
Don't take this professor. Lectures were unorganized. It seemed as if she didn't know what she was teaching, which made the class very much confusing. She would make many mistakes in her lectures, mistakes that shouldn't be made by someone who teaches math. Also, she didn't explain concepts, all she would do is write equations and then the answer.
Honestly you get out what you put into this class. She'll sometimes mess up and forget a negative somewhere, but you kinda learn to look out for that, and it actually kinda helped me be more cautious of my own work. her pre-recorded lectures are good additions to watch. Honestly, if you have some initiative to lightly self-study, you'll do great.
Slow to help and makes lots of mistakes working simple algebra problems. When students catch her mistakes she brushes them aside and tells them to "Ask about it later". Only works problems and doesn't explain how to do them. Better off watching YouTube tutorials than trying to decipher how she comes to her answers, which are wrong half the time.
Professor Hafeez is a nice Professor. She does make mistakes but I think that its a good thing in which we can analyze her work and correct it. There were few instances where she wrote down a variable and it wasnt given, and I wondered how she got the half-life. Overall very easy class if youve taken any math above Algebra 1.
Prof. Hafeez isn't a good teacher. She does not explain what anything means during her so called "lectures", as they would be more accurately called "watching my college math professor complete math problems correctly only half of the time." Seriously, if you have a better option, do not take her class. She is awful, and also very aggressive.
Lots of work (like hw, quizzes) I personally watch her lectures online bc it easier to pause. She makes a lot of mistakes in her work, but it simply basic math or wrong variable/ negs so u still will get the core of what she trying to teach.
Firstly I really really suck at math since my brain just can't comprehend it, her class was hyflex but I still went to her lectures and I just couldn't understand what she was saying at all. She had lectures on CASA too, and the same thing. She makes a lot of mistakes. I tried teaching myself but couldn't do it, thus dropping the class.
the class was not hard, just a lot of work but receive a lot of extra credit! good luck!
I took an online, asynchronous course. There were no class meetings and when you scheduled a tutoring hour with her, nothing would get done. You would ask a question and she would simply just give you the answer, never how to get there. I had to teach myself everything. She wasn't a "teacher" she was just a place for you to turn in work.
If you can take another professor PLEASE DO SO. Hafeez has been the worst professor i've had here at UH. She doesn't teach, all she does is write examples and then solve them. When asked for help, she gets very rude and tells you to "go and study". Please save your time, tears, and money and take someone who will teach and help you.
This is a fully online course that essentially requires you to sit in a lecture because everything is so unorganized. No calculator on exams, not enough time, horrible communication
You don't have to show up to class because she uploads the lectures on CASA. There are mistakes in her lectures so it makes it difficult sometimes. The practice exams are extra credit for the exams and the quizzes you have multiple attempts.
I wanted to get on here because I feel this prof has a bad rep. Appearing for lecture is helpful because she helps you work out any problems on the board with the spare time after. I think shes funny and really helpful and I learned alot.
Her lectures are vague and explainations constantly have errors. This would often confuse me and would take me additional time to figure out my homework. Expect to self-teach the material because her lectures won't. You are able to use your calculator in the exams, but it's up to you to figure out how to perform those complex calculations.
I strongly dislike math and it will forever be a hard subject. But, Professor Hafeez was great, she was accessible outside of class to help, and tried her very best. Made mistakes while doing notes, so don't rely on her 100%, 99%, yes. Easy to self teach, overall, ok class, but Professor is a great person wanting you to succeed.
Very rude and up tight on the first lecture due to a system error, no emails or announcements with in regards to preparing or even preventing this entirely. Feels very old fashioned and I'd advise avoiding this professor entirely.
Very unnecessarily slow lecture over material which could be covered in a much shorter time, yet not effective teaching, and just glosses over important parts of the learning process. Asks us to "ask questions at the end of class" but just has other students answer questions for other students instead. Cheesy jokes that aren't funny and wastes time
She speeds through all of her lectures and constantly messes up on her work. When we correct her she turns it around on use and makes it seem like we are the ones not doing it right. Therefore, I have been confused about the homework and would have to teach myself how to do the work she assigned. Expect to be very independent in this class.
- Goes way to fast during lectures. - Doesn't actually teach the concepts well, she just does the problems for us and tells us to watch. - Frequently gets her own problems incorrect and students will have to correct her on it. - If you have her be prepared to do 99% of the learning on your own. - I won't be taking another class with her.
I have never had a professor that is this bad. I would take the class with anyone else if possible. Very rude and confusing. She doesn't know the material and gets mad when you point out a mistake. She doesn't care for her students. My friends have another professor and they said she's great. Her name is Beatrice Constante. I would take her instead
As long as you do the assignments, you should be fine. She's a helpful professor and uploads lecture videos on casa but can also attend in person if need further assistance.
She made a lot of errors in her lectures and would leave students to "figure it out" by themselves rather than her providing an actual answer or explanation. The material itself is quite easy, however, she made it complicated and made it harder to understand, and needs some self-studying.
Speeds through lectures while constantly making mistakes. All the class is just her "Solving the problems" while not explaining anything and he highlighting. You have teach yourself I would suggest to use your own method and it would be easier.
She is hard to understand at times, she also makes the problems harder more difficult to understand by teaching it the long ways when there are shortcuts to it. She puts the wrong answers in her Quizes while also making mistakes on her quizzes.
Goes through the lectures very fast. Lots of work outside of the class. Does poppers as attendance and they don't have anything to do with the lectures. It's a lot of work and the lectures are really boring
Im not convinced this woman knows what shes talking about. Would constantly delay class by telling people to be quiet, which only incited people to be louder. She had 0 control of the class and would often make mistakes while teaching. Very nice woman, class is easy even if you struggle with math. The tests are basically the same as the reviews.
Was not very tech friendly she never answered emails and always asked students to hop on teams to figure out the issue which doesn't work for some students because we work. She was awful at communicating and expected you to teach yourself her lessons did not help. She was very hard to get a hold of outside of class and didn't really seem to care.
She goes over everything in detail and will stop to go over things if anyone has a question. She also has office hours and is glad to help anyone. She does give a lot of work: 2 quizzes and 20 question HWs each week, and she does take attendance for a grade [she drops some for each category and gives extra credit]. Overall, getting an A is doable.
Professor Hafeez is the worst professor you could take. She barely knows the material herself!! I had to teach literally everything this semester because she was impossible to understand. Which is not good because I am paying tuition for her to do that. I would never recommend anyone to take Hafeez, there are other professor that are way WAY better
I ended up having to teach myself throughout most of the course, but the topics were really easy to understand. That said, I didn't find her super reliable at all, but the textbook really helped a lot. You get multiple attempts on the homework, so as long as you do them on time and you practice for your exams, you'll be fine.
She is not the best lecturer as she makes a lot of mistakes and doesn't really teach the material well, but the notes are easy to understand and the weekly quizzes (although some are very difficult) help gain knowledge for the tests as they have similar questions. She does provide help outside of class and genuinely wants you to succeed.
She is an awesome professor!!! She is tries to make sure everyone understands the material and encourages students to come to her after class for any help. The class was overall super fun to take.
She made often mistakes in her lecture which had students correcting her most times, so make sure to double check your notes with classmates. There are poppers that are worth grades and are essentially attendance. Overall pretty easy class, just make sure to collaborate with others and ask questions. Be sure to do practice tests (+5 points on test)
i struggle with math but did surprisingly well in this class. her lectures arent that good but the way she structures her notes and our quizzes to correspond with the notes is very well. often messes up and then asks the class if it looks good or if shes missing something. class is kind of self taught but not difficult math at all. 20 attemps on hw
Very!!!!! confusing set up with due dates, what is assigned, where to locate them, etc.
Worst prof I have ever had. Class was so confusing. I was good at math and thought this would be an easy class. She makes everything so confusing that even she gets confused many times. There is many other great, BETTER, professors that you can take, and I advice you do if you want to pass this course.
It was an online course with in person tests so i don't really know how she teaches. I have tried to listen to the recorded lectures but it is really hard to understand. It is easier if i just teach myself. My only issue i had with this professor was due dates were constantly being moved...literally always. No email to let us know either.
This has been one of the worst math classes I have ever taken. Her lecture videos were no help. Save yourself and find a different professor.
Definitely one of the worst professors I have ever had!
DO NOT CHOOSE HER AS A TEACHER SAVE YOURSELF I HAD HER SPRING 2023 SHE TOLD ME 8+2=12 , not 10, TWELVE!!! she called my phone MULTIPLE TIMES at W O R K I mentioned i had to work thats why i couldnt join office hours she said : to not work. She moves to slow on lecture videos but when it comes to office hours, she goes fast do not take her
its currently the second week of school and I already missed 3 assignments because she doesn't let you know when we have assignments due and she constantly changes the dates and don't let you know... Secondly she can't teach but I could care less about not understanding her properly cuz the captions help but she doesn't know Math.. It's annoying
I have never seen such disorganization in an online course. Several assignments are spread across multiple platforms, making it very difficult to stay organized (despite the fact that I keep a planner). She takes long to post grades considering everything is multiple-choice. It's still possible to get an A, but it is quite a hassle.
During my spring semester, I was fortunate enough to have her as her teaching style was not problematic for me, as it seemed to be for others. She was always considerate of everyone's understanding. She goes at a slow pace, which allows us to fully grasp the material without feeling overwhelmed.
Super disorganized class, with little to no instructions on what to do, but once you figure it out the class isn't horrible. She's hard to reach through email and takes forever to respond. But as long as you watch the lecture videos then you'll be fine. But if you don't do well teaching yourself math then I wouldn't recommend taking this professor.
I've struggled with math for a long time, but Professor Hafeez made things easier. She goes over the notes in class that can easily be applied to the quizzes and exams. Bonus points for no homework! This course was surprisingly the least of my worries this semester, there was no stress over managing assignments. All you have to do is pay attention.
Dr. Hafeez is easy to reach out to when you email her, she has office hours twice a week where you can ask her any questions. The course is test heavy, and you have to complete homework, quizzes, and poppers weekly. If you watch her lecture videos, you won't have any issues.
Please do not take this class if you care about your life, well being, sanity and GPA. She confuses herself and is very dismissive, but is usually available to ask question if needed (even though the answer is wrong).
Took async. She struggled with basic math operations, rarely corrected it. Getting contact is difficult, but if contacted she gives little to no info, unless you attend her optional meetings. Course content not difficult, the way she taught it made it more challenging.
Not good at explaining criteria If you want to learn, you have to self-teach in her class to pass; she does not mark properly and makes mistakes. I can never get in contact with her. Her layout on canvas is very confusing. Many students missed the assignments because she hadn't told us where they were.
Genuinely a bad professor. I don't know how she got approved to teach college math. I wouldn't trust her to teach middle school math. Constantly getting basic stuff wrong, and was largely unhelpful. Made easy concepts more confusing. Don't recommend taking
Made math so much more difficult than it already was. Practice exams were usually never like actual exams, lectures are extremely confusing and constantly making errors which would confuse me even more. Does not record her lectures and is very dismissive when asking questions be prepared to teach yourself honestly. She was also extremely fast.
I don't understand all of the bad reviews, for online asynchronous college algebra I found her lecture videos to be short and straight to the point and helped a lot with assignments. Which brings me to the only down side which is the work load is quite heavy but I feel like that's a given for every math course at UH.
This teacher is a terrible communicator when talking over emails and doesn't even really teach the course. You basically have to teach yourself through the modules she posts. One module has a document with practice problems, and the other has the work and answers shown for those problems. Any other practice comes from the homework and quizzes.
Class was difficult to navigate. Canvas was confusing & could never find assignments. Syllabus strictly mentions she does not reopen assignments. Lectures are confusing. Does not explain what she is doing in vids multiple errors in the videos. Calculators are not permitted during tests. Only EC in class is 5% of practice tests and the teacher eval.
She takes forever on emails and not good at helping students
The communication wasn't great (vocally or through text), it was SOMETIMES hard to understand her & vice versa since it sounds like English isn't her first language (not her fault but still); she sometimes didn't explain problems fully in her recorded videos & seemed like she just expected you to know; problem-resolution was also difficult with her
I was sorta good at math in high school so some of the material she taught i sorta knew but her pre-recorded videos had so many mistakes i stopped watching and was basically studying off youtube videos. Also, she just wants you to memorize a bunch of stuff when i actually wanna understand what youre doing. She literally says “just memorize”
Do not take if looking for clear communication in lectures. She absolutely did not go in depth in her videos, I had to go off of youtube videos and self-study. The homeworks/quizzes are opened the week before they are due, so you have to keep up with those due dates. Canvas page was difficult to navigate. Doesn't reopen any assignments.
Horrible communication. Her lectures are long, many mistakes make like... Im paying for you to teach, you are a COLLEGE PROF. She gives tons of assignments every week and her grading is kind of unfair. My main thing is she's HORRIBLE at explaining and going into depth. We don't all remember math from high school and she expects us to know!!
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR her way of teaching is copying what she does, lowk impossible to learn without extra help (I was not able to for my own reasons) Every class was "learning" something new, expects students to know stuff alr or learn fast. The smart students had to correct her MANY times, I had to teach myself everything
Ms. Hafeez is great! I took her in person for contemporary math, it is much harder online. For attendance, there is a short quiz every class, but helps A LOT. Plus 2 quizzes a week with 20 tries. There are a lot of buffers if you are not a tester, but exams are similar to extra credit practice tests. If you pay attention, you'll be perfectly fine!
Professor Hafeez does go through material relatively quick so her students don't have to be in class too long but she always makes sure the class is following her step by step and understands the material. If you do the homeworks and quizzes you will be fine in this class. She also stays behind after class and will help you with any questions.
I would not recommend this professor at all. I took her in person MATH 1314 and it was my lowest grade. Rushes through lectures, makes both intentional and unintentional mistakes expecting learning students to "catch" them, and dismisses students that have excused absences. Overall not good if math isn't your strong suit. Don't do it.
I enjoyed Professor Hafeez's lectures. She was engaging and answered all questions. She went over the same concepts multiple times to ensure understanding. The homework and quizzes were simple, and the exams matched the reviews. Even if you don't do well in math, you can succeed in this class, but you have to study.
if you aren't good at math i'll recommend someone else. she messes up on her videos and poppers, also you have to check casa to see when the poppers are do. one thing i did like she provided retest on two of the test. just be ready to teach yourself a lot. She doesn't give out no type of extra credit.
This professor made the class so much harder than it needed to be. She often messed up on problems; due dates didn't match CASA due dates and she's good at making you confused. You will need to teach yourself how to solve the problems I barely passed.
This professor and experience were awful. I should have gone with my gut and taken this class at a CC! Test reviews are hardly like the exams; she is so hard to get in touch with and does not give good lectures. Many students and I have tried emailing her throughout the semester, and she never replies. She also does not show up for office hours.
Professor Hafeez's lectures were difficult to understand due to errors and very little explanations on concepts. I spent a lot of my time on youtube trying to teach myself because she is not easy to get ahold of and does not provide much help when needed. Test reviews did not align whatsoever with her actual exams.
Had to get a tutor to teach me this class. Don't expect her to give any type of leeway. Wouldn't even give me two points in order for me to graduate. I do not recommend one bit!!
i would only take her if you alr have a pretty good understanding of algebra or math in general i took calc 1 the semester before so this was pretty easy for me horrible at teaching tho and makes common mathematical errors that should not be made exams were really easy tho and the final was super easy just do the review
Did not represent a clear understanding of the material or clear ability to articulate what they knew to the students. Makes many mistakes in the span of a single lecture
I struggled significantly to understand basic concepts due to her tendency to make many mistakes and rush through lectures. I don't think the coursework is difficult, but I had to basically teach myself all of the material outside of class. If you have the opportunity to take any other professor I would highly encourage it.
Difficult (impossible) to understand, and makes many errors in her notes/lectures. Makes an easy class hard.
She made a lot of simple mistakes when solving problems in class, but she's very nice and her class was very easy especially if you've already taken algebra in HS. She won't let you forget about test scheduling either and she'll explain things as many times as you need her too. Really sweet and easy to pass.
She is a great person, but I dont think shes a good professor. Respectfully, She makes a lot of mistakes and videos are long for no reason. She sucks at replying to emails. I do not recommend her, but i would not say she is the worst.
This professor sucks so bad bro. with 40 minute videos she does 20 minutes of explaining what shes actually doing and the rest she just expects you to know off the top of your head. I've had a test for this class every week of this semester there is no break for this class.
She was very disorganized and would get a lot of things wrong, but as the year went on she stopped making lots of dumb mistakes and became more reliable. There are lots of quizzes (taken online on your own time with 10 attempts). Test every other week with practice tests being available for extra credit. If you know a bit of algebra you'll survive.
ohhhh my god if you're like me, someone who doesn't know much about math, do NOT take this class. I initially picked this professor because it fit my schedule, big mistake. She gets things wrong CONSTANTLY, and she's not the best at teaching people. Had to teach myself the entire time I was there.
If you are not great at math and haven't found a way to teach yourself, please don't take her. I was confused the whole course; she gets things wrong and always asks the class for help when we need help ourselves. She is funny, kind, and respectful but not worth the hassle.
The class isn't that hard and she's probably a very nice person; however she cannot teach to save her life. She makes a lot of mistakes in work and relies on her students to check it. Also, she over-complicates everything which made the class a lot harder. I had to basically teach myself this class, but other than that she means well.
I don't recommend this professor. The material is simple, but her teaching is confusing she makes lots of mistakes, constant topic jumping, rude, and poppers for attendance. She's also unhelpful and even gave me a zero for work I completed. If you're thinking about taking her class, think twice and actually, don't walk away from this one. Run.
She makes constant mistakes during lectures which show up in the notes she uploads for students. I'm currently trying to study for her final but there are several mistakes all throughout the test review which makes it difficult to use any of the resources she provides. She's nice but I wouldn't recommend if you need help with math.
Do not take her!!!! She makes constant mistakes which reflects on the notes + final exam. During lecture, she will constantly ask you to check HER work for mistakes. She moves at 100 miles an hour, there's quizzes every week, and tests every 2 weeks. she's nice but that's about it.
Prof is super sweet & easy to reach (weekly optional Teams meetings). 6 tests, 10 Qs each; study CSS practice tests. She makes lecture errors, so self-teaching needed. No calculators on tests. Exams easy. Lots of easy quizzes/poppers. 10 attempts for all CSS assignments. Would take again.
If you only do well while working at a slow pace, do not take this professor! She works extremely fast to get the work done and finish lectures. Every lecture, she makes mistakes to the point where she gets lost with her work and even the students.
She makes a lot of mistakes a lot of mistakes and the students had to keep correcting her, she also goes through the problems pretty quickly. The test were only 10 questions tho, honestly if you can take someone else for this class.
