He is a great Professor. Lots and lots of homeworks but it will be very helpfull for his tests. Easy A.
Genious. Very smart man. Sometimes hard to understand but he does his best to make the complicated not seem so hard. Go to lectures to do well in the class. Dont take him at night, it gets boring and exhausting.
Very nice guy, classes are interesting, tests and quizes are easy and I had to write one paper on global warming and he gave me a B (and I can't write for ****). Easy interesting class. Take it.
easy at first, but lots of hw, extremely boring in class, hard tests
quizzes every 2 weeks but very easy. lets you use a notecard. 7 papers but they're just credit no credit so you can bs the whole thing. very helpfull and kind
Very good prof. attend class to understand material better. very very helpful. quizzes are easy, but tests are cummulative. overall he has been one of the best i've ever had.
Rambles all the time, not consistant, class was very confusing, I went all the time and got a D. Too much busy work. Homework every class that needs to be typed, quizes a lot too, they arent very difficult, but not easy. Need to study a lot to pass
Easy A. Very rational man. The class was too easy, esp. w/ the notecards he lets u use for the exams. It is up to you as to how much you want to learn. He encourages to participate in the discussions to help his students understand more.
i took this guy at el camino, and he was cool, a bit boring, but still nice guy and interesting debates...
He is a good professor.Very nice and helpful, he will answer all of your questions.he is a genuinly nice guy and that is hard to find sometimes around here.i pulled an A in the course.talk to him and he will recognize you and you will benefit.i highly recommend, he makes it a cool course for a prerq
His accent is as thick as his B.O. and his lectures are off of an overhead that is barely readable. I got an 'A' in the class only because I read the book and completely ignored his lectures. It's a shame that attendance is required for a good grade. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!!!
what are they talking about? the man is horrendously brilliant and magnificent; he has a unique and most effective teaching style. His accent might be "foreign" but his English is better than that of most Americans and definitely of his students.
Idiot

Nice guy. Willing to help you out if you ask. As long as you come to class and partipate and do your readings and HW you should do well.He lets you use a notecard to help you on tests.
this class was a waste of time. he is a nice guy but his tests and quizzes are kind of hard. and sometimes its hard to understnad what he is saying with his accent. over all if you need to take this class i reccommend you take it with another professor.
Lectures boring, and off an overhead. Didn't even lecture about half of what is on the final.
Overall nice guy. Tests and quizzes are easy if you review and use your notecard with notes. Very nice professor who cares about his students. Classes are a little boring he is always willing to help if he can. Highly recommended.
This class is totally worthless. Pretty average in easyness. Very very boring, but nice guy. This class is about how to outline arguments which is why I said its totally worthless. Who the hell uses this information in our daily life. I guess its just the stupid system.
I really liked this class. If you have a friend, they can sign you in. Just make sure to do all the homework. If you don't understand something go to his office house. He brought a girl's test grade up 2 letter grades after she went. Great guy
This class was totally worthless. Mr. Haghighi was a nice guy, but not my favorite teacher. The information is pretty confusing, and there is a lot of homework/busywork. If you are looking for an entertaining philosophy class, this probably isnt the best one. boring!!
Nice guy. Made things somewhat interesting but philosophy is never as clear cut and dry. Allowed 3x5 note card for tests which came in really handy. Can be boring but if you have a good class, discussions can be interesting.
One of the nicest teahers I have ever had... He cares about his students and the quizzes are straight off of the homework problems. He tries to make the subject matter interesting, but the homewokr is tedious and boring.
Really nice teacher!! One of the best...gonna make you think a lot about a lot of issues!! Exams are not that easy...and a lot of work...but that will save you from studying only the night before a quiz or exam...cause you will have to read and understando chapters every week!! =) Good class after all!!
Really, really lame class. I will never use the info learned ever! His accent is thick, and his familiarity with the English language is limited. Take a different teacher if you can.
Haghighi is a good teacher. If you participate in the discussions the information isnt that hard to understand. Hes pretty chill too, he let me turn in a lot of make up work and was willing to give me extra credit to bring my grade up. The tests come straight from the homework. He does alot of review, encourages constructive feedback and helps alot
Take this guy if you can! Very easy grader. Gives you a study guide before every test of what is going to be on the test! Gives a test almost every week, so take them seriously. Participate in class every so often and he will give you extra credit. Lots of material, but he reviews the subject often, so going to class is a must for a good grade!
Take Dr. Hagnighi if you could. He's an extremely easy grader. Only thing is that when grading, he does not curve. Other than that, he's a nice person.
He'd constantly contradict himself when we debated him in class; always had to be right, very arrogant. However he allowed notecards on the numerous quizzes and a whole page on the final. Luckily he didnt need much teaching skill to teach the mostly basic content of this course. Gets a little challenging at the end. There may be better out there...
Hes a really nice teacher. His lectures can be boring but if you pay attention, it will help you later on for quizes, test. Theres homework every week but it will help you understand the chapter and if you don't do good on the quizes, exams just go to his office and talk to him and he will help you and boost up your grade from a C to an A. take him!
doesn't really make class interesting. just lectures, you don't even really have to take notes as long as you do the assignments and study what he posts on beachboard. but still a really boring class. n
Easy teacher. He posts all his lectures on beachboard so you pretty much don't even need to bother with going to class. He allows index cards on all the quizzes and tests. The book that goes along with the class is very easy and on the assignments he tells u what pgs to find the answers. Highly Recommended!
So easy, boring lectures, homework assignments weekly. Allows notes for quizes. You will always know your grade. VERY easy. Recommended for critical thinking. Boring though.
subject isnt very interesting but he does his best teaching it. uses very random examples sometimes lol. weekly hws, allows notecards and cheatsheets on quizzes and final. puts everything up on beachboard. very lenient. just do your best and try to understand the material and youll get an A in the class.
This class is boring but he is very helpful. Hw every week but very lenient in grading sometimes he moves the due date. If u dont understand something, i recommend goin to his office hours, he will help you & bonus pts for you because he will also get to know you! (it's a plus because he knows youre trying, THATS important)
His class is VERYY BORING!! so be prepared.. if you talk, he points you out in front of the entire class. He's a nice guy overall but he grades hard on homework and tests. Overall, if philosophy isn't your thing, don't take this professor.
mr haghighi is a really good teacher. he is very nice but can sometimes be boring. He posts all the class notes on beach board so you dont have to take a lot of notes.
Class can be boring at times. Just do the homework he gives weekly and study for his tests and you'll be fine. He knows his stuff really well and loves it when students speak up. He gives a lot of extra credit. No essays. Quizzes, midterm and a final.
very boring class... didnt understnd his lectures
His class is mandatory, and absolutely hated going to it. He really is passionate about teaching though, and if you participate in class discussions and get a high grade on the first midterm and turn in all your HW you should manage an A.
At first the class seemed ok. He is always willing to answer your questions and make sure that the class understands what he's trying to teach (if you ask). We have a lot of hw that you have to do in order to do well on tests. The tests are hard. But go into office hours and he'll help you out if you have the right questions.
i was very interested in the class before taking it, because i was interested in possibly making phil my major, but not after his course. you can't understand him because of his accent and he's not clearn in his explainations. i might change my mind about this major.
I really liked this class because it greatly improved my arguing skills. Haghihi was pretty nice and in my opinion, a great teacher. I remember almost everything I learned in that class. The tests can be hard because you have to decode long arguments, but in the end, you become a better thinker. It's an easy class if you study and actually attend.
Boring. Very boring. You don't really need to go to class if you read the book and you don't really need to read the book if you go to class. Do the homework and you will be fine.
Great Teacher. really helpful and actually made the topic interesting. Encouraged in class discussions so it helped me grasp more of the information. Nice Man overall, I would reccomend taking the class with him.
he wasn't that hard to understand. i barely paid attention and i got a B in the class, honestly. i do things last minute and i ditched class frequently. just do the homework and read the book. the study guides he gives are VERY helpful. and the quizzes are easy as long as you read. and the reading is very short. take this prof for a GE.
VERY NICE AND WILLING TO HELP. NOT THE EASIEST MATERIAL, BUT HE TRIES HIS BEST TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND. I REALLY LIKED HIM!
Very easy class if you attend, listen to lectures and do the hwk. Hwk can be time consuming but it's easy and so are the exams. He is very knowledgeable about this subject and is willing to help and explain everything extensively in class and during his office hours. If you don't pass it's b/c you didn't bother to try or ask for help.
he was very nice and could be funny at times. he is willing to help and give extra credit for the ones who need it. VERY NICE. class can be a bit boring. DO HW!!!
Not exactly hard, but tons of homework! The subject itself is also very boring, but he did try to make it interesting.
He is Extremely nice, post all lectures, study guides, and Hw ONLINE. Easy A if you do the work and study a little for the test. You get to have a flash card for each test and quiz. He might be slightly hard to understand but he's so helpful. great teacher. Slightly boring lectures But u don't even have to go!!!
TERRIBLE!
class is kinda boring. need book to do exercises and can use notecards for tests. hes very helpful
Haghighi is the sweetest professor. Very helpful and caring of students. Class is kinda hard, but it's philosophy, so what do you expect? Lots of writing assignments. Gives LONG, but detailed study guides. Easy B if you actually try.
The class is boring and doesn't make sense at times, but he is a nice teacher. Seems like it would be difficult and lot of work, but assignments do not take a lot of time to complete and you can use a notecard (front and back) for the tests so you should be able to get an A as long as you write good notes.
The class is very easy - a few homework assignments, 3 easy quizzes, midterm and final (all allow you to use a notecard). Haghighi is chill and even though the course is dull, he does not expect very much.
Boring class. Passable as long as you do homework. Material is confusing and he doesn't explain very well.
Very nice man. Class is super boring and he is horrible at explaining things. He is a super easy grader. Have an A. He sucks at explaining and hes got a heavy accent that makes it difficult to understand him. He never really answers your questions. Super freakin boring though, I would not recommend.
He was interesting, and if anyone ever finds out where he's from, power to you. He's not difficult, but he gets off the subject quite easily, and is a bit insensitive. For an A, all you have to do is follow his PowerPoints, read, bring your test notecard, and do the assignments. ~And make sure you comment in class, he's liberal w/extra credit.
He's funny and makes philosophyy seem not too hard. His notes really help you understand I got an A. The class is unbearably boring
He is a super easy teacher. It's really boring though. But if you write everything on your notecard and do the homework's you will get an easy A.
Very easy class. Tests are easy, read the powerpoints before tests and come to his review session to clear up any confusion and you'll pass the class.
This class is veerrryy boring. Seriously, if it hadn't been sandwiched between 2 other classes, I would've never gone. But other than that, it's okay. There's a decent amount of homework and as long as you do it, you should be okay. The tests aren't hard. The professor likes to ramble and often doesn't make sense.
He is a great professor who is most concerned about the students. He lest you re-do assignments if you did poorly or did not understand it. He cares how much you learn and wants you to succeed. A genuinely good guy who will help you if you ask. He is a great professor, just not the most stimulating subject.
Not as bad as he's made out to be. One of the enjoyable prof. I had as 1st year student. Meticulous to the point that he makes sure no one is left behind in lecture, and heavy accent is really not a problem at all. Frequent emails and updates keep you up to date, so if you had a bad experience of failed the class, then surely it was all on you...
My least favorite class of the year. The material is easy, but he only complicates it in his lecture. He genuinely tries to help students understand the material, but he's never very clear. You'll have to teach yourself a lot of the material and put a lot of effort into the homework.
This teacher does care about his students and wants you to pass. other than this everything is pretty bad. Hw due almost every class meeting, accent is tough, least favorite class of the whole semester. will need book as well.
Extremely Easy class!!! You do not even need to attend the class because he posts his lecture notes online!! the quizzes and exams are no problem because you can bring 2-3 index cards with you!! trust me this will be the easiest class you will ever take!!!
OMG this class was a bit too confusing I had to withdraw from it because it was so hard to understand what he was saying half of the time. U have to go everyday or you will be totally lost and he leaves so much work for so little credit. If you can try to avoid having him.
This class was super boring but he is a caring teacher, this class is not impossible if you do all the homework. Lots of hw (from the book) and quizzes, midterm and final were HARD. The best thing about this class is that if you ask for help he?s likely to offer you extra credit or to take your makeup work.
One of the worst philosophy professor ever! Super boring! Save yourself and take another class if you can. It is recommended for you to show up or you will fall behind! COnfusing midterms and homework!
Very nice guy. however his class is SO HARD. he teaches the same thing everyday just from different standpoints and views. most confusing class ever. his tests are HARD. do yourself a favor and avoid him
I did not enjoy this class. The professor lectured constantly about the same vague, general topic everyday while more key details could only be found in the lecture notes. Tests tended to be oriented around you repeating his own opinion on the subject rather than your own. I would not recommend him...
He was one of the worst teachers i've ever had his teachings made no sense and he was hard of understanding too. Terrible class epecially teacher, do not take this class you'll regret it if you do
There's a lot of homework and studying involved in his class. he Allow notecards for exams and gives out study guides. His lectures will bore you to death, I wish I never took this class. Very strict grading on exams and papers.
Personally I think he was a great professor. He goes over things a couple times so you understand it. Easy writing assignments for homework and the quizzes and tests are fairly easy. He does have a deep accent so it does sound like mumbling sometimes but he is willing to help people that don't understand. The only flaw is the final is 30% of total.
He is very patient and helpful. He has an accent but clear enough to understand. He allows late HW and allows cheat sheets which I honestly think are unnecessary because this class is easy. He teaches off the text and also puts his lectures online. He's not a hard grader. There is no excuse for a C or lower in this class.
A lot of studying; little text book use. The lectures were boring and repetitive and he can be difficult to understand.
This class is EASY but super boring. FInals are almost here and I'm likely sure I will get an A in the class. Bring a laptop if you want to. Does allow cheat sheets for the tests. Couple of quizzes. Does his best to be helpful to students. Do the homework! there is NO reaon for you to not get AT LEAST a C in the class!
challenging but entertaining at the same time.He requires A LOT of reading. If you do not keep up with the reading YOU WILL be lost in class.Don't worry though,he is a nice person.Lets you turn in papers a late, post helpful notes(although inclass notes are crap).highly recomend taking your laptop.do not take this class if its your 15th+ unit!!!!!!!!
Class can be challenging, but he does let you use notes on every test, even the final. He's a nice guy, but if you want something easy take someone else. Class is very relaxed though. Theres definately much worse philosophy teachers at the school.
Class was not to bad, had no interest at all in Philosophy, but he actually makes it interesting. GO to class, at the end he gives you extra points if you went which boost your grade if your borderline. 3 exams and weekly assignments but for each exam he gives you study guides to study and allows you to use a sheet of paper on the exam! Take!
I would not call this class hard or easy. You have an assignment every week but he lets you turn them in late if you miss a couple, he is really chill in class but he does expect you to know the information so you do actually have to learn which sucks. if your stuck with taking him dont worry but if you have the chance dont take him
I Recommend, study guides were basically the test, everything was clear on his lecture notes.Take it
Dont recommend taking him. hardly understood him and his lectures were confusing and boring. His exam were hard ad sometimes confusing, DONT TAKE HIM.
Class attendance isn't mandatory except on days when assignments are due which are bimonthly. Posts his lecture online & give you a study guide prior to each exam. Even lets you use an index card or two for them. Two exams. One final. Multiple choice + one essay. I recommend him for an easy class. You only use the book for hw, too.
This class was honestly so easy! It was basically straight from the note, and he gives extra credit for participation (which as college students once should be doing weather or not theres extra credit) I recommend taking him! He's great, his lectures are interesting. Sit in the front, print out his PP, and do the study guide. EASY B
Highighi is a good professor! While he is a little hard to understand at first, you catch on fast. His exams are off the study guides and he lets you use flashcards! I put in minimal effort, but was interested in the material. I had him for Phil 100 AND Phil 204 and got A's both times.
Haghighi is probably one of my favorite professors I have ever taken for Philosophy. He is very understanding and helpful. He will extend deadlines and push back exams if the class tells him they are not ready. He also lets you bring flash cards of notes. He is extremely lenient. Also, he is a pretty funny guy. Study and you will get an A.
This class is fairly easy as long as you put in the time. All he does is lecture, so he gives extra credit points for participating. His class is made up of a couple quizzes, midterm, final, and 6 2 page papers from the reading. The quizzes are peer reviewed, but the midterm and final aren't so he grades them a little tougher.
Easy class, there are maybe five or six writing assignments throughout the semester. Each one is about two pages and you'll need to do a few short readings from the book for the writing assignments. He allows you to use a note card for the quizzes. Overall good class.
Terrible class and he is kind of rude. Very unclear because you can't understand him. Lectures are boring but he takes attendance so you have to go. AVOID!
I wouldnt recommend him. Class is very boring! Hard to pay attention. He can be rude as too and he cant really answer questions clearly.
He can be quite rude and the lectures are boring. I have trouble emailing him since he either 1) does not respond at all, or 2) fails to answer my question. If you enjoy speaking in in-class discussions, chances are he will put down the majority of the points you're trying to make. Also, don't buy the textbook; I used it once.
He can be very rude. You won't be allowed to talk to anyone, so if you're the type of person who likes to have peers clarify things for you, he will stop his lecture to tell you "you're not here to talk" he grades homework really hard, and his tests and lectures are confusing. DO NOT TAKE.
Lectures are dry and boring. Long and time consuming assignments that he grades based on accuracy. The tests were not too bad if you go over the study guide and listen in class. He can be rude and he never clearly answers questions. He also takes attendance. I would avoid this professor if you're looking for an easy class.
I'll be honest, I hated this class. The professor was mildly condescending, confusing, and the lectures were torture almost every time. Had a hard time paying attention and when I did I had a hard time understanding what he was talking about and why he concluded different things.
So long as you show up and pay attention this is the easiest class in the world. He gives extra credit points when you talk in class, but he can be really rude when you ask questions and he makes you feel stupid but dont let that stop you from asking questions. If you answer questions and dont talk during class he will like you.
He could be rude, but he was also somewhat helpful. If you talk, he puts you on the spot. However, when you answer his questions he gives you extra points. There were only the midterm and final, and some quizzes every other week. You could use an index card on every exam in this class. You should attend class though. he takes roll too.
He's impossible to understand which makes learning from him almost impossible. My savior was the fact that he put his lecture notes that he zoomed through online so we could look at them to study before tests and use for assignments. There isn't a cumulative final, but 3 regular unit tests which are multiple choice and an essay question.
i really love haghighi's sense of humor, he's so nonchalant and a happy person. the course itself was kind of hard to bear, mostly because he doesn't teach very effectively and more than half the class look dead. haghighi really is a good teacher, he just has a hard time showing it. i really would love to take another class with him!
His lectures are pretty confusing at first but if you really put in the effort to listen and take good notes, its an easy A! His tests are multiple choice and one essay question. He basically tells you word for word what to write beforehand and you get to take an index card! He gives extra credit for participation and points back on some homeworkQs
I highly recommend taking this class!! He is very understanding and lenient with grading. He gives extra credit out all the time just for participating and you get to use a flashcard on his test! Two Exams and final is not so bad! Definitely worth taking, easy A :)
Yes, he can be hard to understand sometimes if you don't put in your own effort.. Although some times I'm beating my head over some lessons versus others so it's dependable on your smartness lol. He is so funny and a delight! His laugh is so funny and cute. Everyday of class is like falling in love. College is awesome that way. :)
this class is NOT an easy A. attendance doesn't matter because he passes around a sign in sheet (going to class doesn't help whatsoever because he reads straight off the PowerPoint). a few homework assignments and for all quizzes and tests, u can use cheat sheet but it's still hard. I did all the work and am getting a 77. IT IS SO BORING
Dr. Haghighi is one (if not the best) professor I've had in csulb so far. If you're taking this course be engaged and he will give you extra credit. Really amiable person and the content in the class is interesting. If you're the type of student to be on fb and not engage this isn't the right class. Quizzes and Test are a breeze!
Professor Haghighi is really nice but his lectures are really boring. a few quizzes and homework here and there but not that hard. as long as you have a buddy to study with, you're good. would recommend for an easy A for philosphy. attendance is checked with a sign-in but attendance is really not necessary to understand the course.
His lectures are super long but if you're interested in philosophy, he will be quite hilarious. Sure, it's a tough class but why pay thousands of dollars to attend classes that get you no where? Don't skip class or you will not pass. You're allowed a cheat card for tests. Find a study buddy and this class will be interesting, I promise.
Pros: He's lenient and nice at times and makes you think deeply. He also gives extra credit for those who answer. You can use index cards during exam and quizzes. Cons: It's hard to get an A or B in his class honestly. Lectures are long and it's easy to doze off. You must answer essays word by word from the ppt/book like copy paste type of deal.
This class was a drag to go to. Passes around attendance sheet(used for borderline grade improvements) Just going to class isn't enough to pass, you will need to thoroughly study his powerpoints, and the text, but does allow you to use and index card cheat sheet for every test, & gives study guides before.
