Took Dr Shaikh last semester and she was so great! She gives study guides and basically tests are based on the study guides. Loved her class so much! would recommend for sure.

She's indeed very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and easy going. You get to know her, and always don't judge people at first sight!!! she's a good teacher , and want you to do study..... I, surly recommend her....

Dr. Kulsoom, being a medical professional, brings a lot to the table. Ive never heard (or asked) a question that didnt get a full answer. (Bio teachers dont know answers to medical questions) this is important when learning A&P Shes also very pleasant and understanding. Do your part (study) and theres no reason you cant get an A.

She is a great professor that is willing to go above and beyond for her students to succeed. Definitely recommend her as an Anatomy professor because she is able to provide medical background to support the topics from her past experience as a physician. I had taken Anatomy taught by a Biology professor and it was much more difficult.

This course overpassed my expectations. Dr. Shaikh gives very good examples related with the topic that makes easier to remember the information. Moreover, you can see that she loves what she teaches. Finally, I did not only learn about Anatomy and Physiology with Dr. but I also learned about life. It is really a very good class.

I loved this teacher. I took the 8wk class right after having a baby, talk about stress. Super intelligent person. She's a doctor and I'd ask her medical questions, she knows everything. DO THE STUDY GUIDE several times before a test. 1st test I didn't & go a 69, did it after that and got A's. The lab exam are hard for me, lots of material.

Dr. Shaikh is the best college professor Ive ever had she applies textbook knowledge to practical scenarios. Shes lays the class out for you and if you read and do the work you will do great in the class!

She is a probably the best professor in NOVA bio department. There is literally nothing dislike about her. Her teaching method is great, and you can actually learn a lot because she is a doctor. Just don't come late to class :)

Dr. Shaikh is the best professor I have had at NOVA. She gives all the tools necessary to succeed, and is willing to work and help her students get an A grade (study guides and extra credit opportunities). Her practical life scenarios and accounts are both inspirational and emphasize the importance of what we're learning throughout the course.

I have taken both course with Dr. Shaikh and she is amazing! She cares about her students and will go above and beyond to assist in earning a good grade. She gives homework, so do it! It actually boost your grade. Obviously, she is very generous, so you should repay her by doing the work! I wish she taught other courses because I'd take them!

Dr. Shaikh will literally give you everything you need to get an A without killing yourself. I work full time during the week and made it through two 8-week intense classes with her. You just need to come to class, study the study guides she gives you and finish all of your assignments by the time the class ends. She truly wants everyone to succeed

This class is hybrid and is not an easy class over all but the professor is so detailed in her lecture without boring you to death. If you pay attention in class, when you go do your homework 70% of her lecture is there. The book helps but her lecture and real life examples stick more than reading by yourself. I would definitely retake her!!

I took Dr. Shaikh during the summer and I LOVE HER. I wish she would teach BIO 150 because I love the way she teaches. Exams are based on study guides so if you study, YOU WILL GET AN A. TAKE HER! She is one of the best professors at NVCC!

I took bio 141 with her. She is very good and very knowledgeable. And she is very understanding. Study guides helped 100% for exams. She really does make the class fun. I will be taking her again next fall for bio 142

After being out of school for a long time I am so glad I chose Dr. Shaikh(MD) as my BIO 141 professor. She is able to read the class and "break" from lecture to tell us real life situations pertaining to the lecture. Class is NOT boring, homework assignments and study guides actually helped for exams. I really enjoyed taking bio 141 with Dr. Shaikh. She makes her lectures intersting by sharing real life experience, which really catch your attention. Homewok assighnments and study guides are very important if you want a good grade. Exams are based right off of study guides.

She is nice professor and wants her students to pass. She is a doctor, so she gives a lot of real life examples. The class is hard, so you need to study a lot. Tests are also hard and long, but she gives study guides, which help a little.

Dr. Shaikh is a practicing physician so her lectures include a lot of real world knowledge and examples. Go to class, do the homework/ extra credit. Do the study guides. Follow these basic things and youre basically guaranteed an A. Most importantly she wants you to pass. So just do your share and youll be fine.

I had a great time learning in this class. She is a doctor and uses real life examples to connect to the lecture. The test are hard but she gives you great study guides DO THEM!. the test comes directly from it. she gives a lot of extra credit assignments. She is willing to work with you just be transparent with her about what is going on.

Be prepared to use the textbook online,great lectures & a professional in her field. Study guides only help if you do the reading. She wants you to pass, is helpful, & gives words of encouragement. Just don't try to take advantage and def attend! Class itself is very overwhelming but Shaikh tries to make it easy on her students.

Professor is very knowledgeable caring class is heavy but she works with you and gives you all resources to get an A you need to put some time in. She keeps it interesting and funny.

She is funny and has loads of cool stories to tell to make lectures interesting and less boring. Yes, its a hard class but only because its a hard subject. If your expecting anatomy to be easy your highly mistaken. She makes a hard subject as easy as possible. She grades fairly and is very understanding.

She's the best! she is willing to do her best to pass you! Lecture is a bit heavy because anatomy and physiology is a lot but just make sure to study and she gives study guides for her exams that are exactly the same as the tests and provides extra credit and tells story about what she has experienced that help you understand the concept more!

Her lectures help you understand the material by explaining things in an easy way and making sure you know how things are connected. There is a lot of homework to do, but you will finish the class knowing the material. She works with you to make sure you can EARN a good grade. She makes sure that you are engaged in the lecture. Answers questions.

Dr. Shaikh is amazing. She makes a hard class easy, she cares about her students, really knows her stuff and is always willing to answer questions and go over things if you don't understand. Her lectures are interesting and she doesn't just read off the powerpoint.

I understand the frustration comment below. She is a working physician and she can be really busy. She reads students' emails but takes forever to reply. However, she is still a great professor. I am so glad that I took my BIO classes under Prof. Shaik. It helps a lot especially when you want to get in the nursing/any medical field program.

Dr. Shaikh is awesome! Not many bio 141-142 professors have study guides. She is super accommodating, loves her students, always looks out for our best interest. Also it is plus that she is a well educated doctor herself with a lot of medical experience. She does super helpful case and clinical studies. Take her you won't regret it!

Do yourself a favor, take Dr. Shaikh for BIO 141 & 142. She is extremely accommodating, knows her material inside and out front and back, and cares for her students. You can get an A in her class if you do what she asks of you by completing labs, study guides, and homework assignments. She even gives extra credit opportunities sometimes.

Take professor Shaikh she's honestly the best. I took her BIO141 BIO142 class. Everything that you will be tested on will always be discussed in the lectures so no surprises. If somehow you don't do well on the exams theres a good amount of other grades within the course to boost your grade.

Prof. Shaikh is GREAT. She is personal but shows a piece of great knowledge in the area she's lecturing on. She can also apply this knowledge to the clinical setting, which makes her lectures very interesting and useful. Study the books and the study guide she provides, attend the classes - and you will do just fine! Work hard and it will pay off.

Took 141,142She is very caring about her students voice your concerns and she's willing to help. very intelligent, she's a OBGYN and her case studies are interesting helpful in understanding subject . not an easy course but she makes it less intimidating, what will really help your grade is the study guide. If you do the guide you WILL PASS study.

If you want to learn anatomy and physiology take Dr Shaikh. She is a caring and amazing professor. She always links each subject to a clinical case which helps you to understand a r remember the material. if you pay attention the lectures , study the power points and the study guide you will get a good grade.

Dr Shaik on the first day will make sure to let you know how attendance and blocking few hours daily is important to pass the class, at first I was a little scared but make sure you understand that commitment is important for this class. If you plan to skip class, please run and choose another professor. Dr Shaik is always on time w/ the class.

This course familiarizes the human body's structure and function. This professor applies her knowledge and experience in a coordinated fashion and explains it in simplified clinical-based scenarios. She is also a respectful, caring, and target-oriented professor. It's an easy "A" If simple instructions are followed.

After being out of school for 20 years and not only entering back in school but doing it online has been a challenge. Professor has been very helpful in guiding the class in the right direction so that we have enough time to complete our assignments. She also gives you second chances if you can show that you actually want to pass.

Professor Shaikh is so nice and this class is an easy A as long as you literally complete all the assignments. The exams are all based of a study guide so if you complete/review that then there is no way you won't receive a perfect score on the exams. Overall-- class is super straightforward and professor is super sweet :)

Dr. Kulsoom is always willing to help. She gives amazing lectures full of stories from her work in the medical field, that correlate with the subject matter we are learning. She does provide a study guide that is EXTREMELY helpful, but they are lengthy, which can make it difficult. I am already signed up with her for BIO 142. Overall 10/10.

This professor taught Anatomy in a very interesting way. All of her lectures were worth listening, because the information will be delivered in a story tell method, which makes it more fun to learn and keep the information in your long term memory. I took the class for half sem and my grades and studying got impacted.

Good to have an A&P course taught by an actual physician. The only thing to watch out for with this class is the study guides. You have to do them because they contain the questions used for the exam, but each one contains anywhere from 500-800 questions, which often need to be completed within a week, plus all the homework, reading, and lab work.

Dr. Shaikh was great! She truly cares about what she teaches and cares that her students learn. If you don't understand, you just need to ask, she will help you. Homework helps with understanding the material. Test reviews are given and long but study hard and you will do great. I would certainly take her again!

Even though we had a lot of homework to get done, I really enjoyed her class. Professor Kulsoom explains every chapter with details and amazing examples.
