Dr. Nisar is the best! She gives clear idea on what are her expectations. QMB 500 is a tough course and she makes it look easy. If you take her class, you will get a comfortable "A". She can do better teaching when it comes to application of statistics in corporate world, then you need good grades, take her. 3 exams, 3 quizzes and one xcel assign
really hard class. recommend to take it with someone else. Lots of power points used from the book.3 test, 3 quizzes and 1 excel which she nit picked.
she is good
She is amazing. I was so worried when I heard not too many people do well in stats. She made the class easy to understand. Told exactly what to study for, and explained everything perfectly. She is so nice which helps and is always there if you need further assistance.
You will need to pay great attention to detail on the excel project. You will need to focus a majority of your time on the Power Points that are uploaded to blackboard. That is where you will find a majority of the testing materials and content. Also do the in class exercises and handouts for the tests. Overall she is incredibly easy and sweet.
Easy A
She's probably one of the best stats professors here. The class is pretty easy if you took any type of stats in high school. If you have no knowledge of the subject, it may be overwhelming with the pace she teaches. She checks attendance everyday, so show up to get in her good graces.
Only 3 tests and 3 quizes which are graded tough. A lot of questions on the tests are made to confuse you to pick the wrong answer. Only other grades are participation/ attendance and an excel project. For participation/ attendance dont expect to to get more than 5/20, if you missed more than 3 classes. Also excel project is nit picked.
she's a great professor defiantly my favorite on ut.
she is awesome
Not a fan of the class, not a fan of her lectures. I felt like she was going over the material really slowly, so I learned the material faster on my own. Tests seem easy, but she is a really tough grader. If you do show up to class and do the work, it is an easy grade, but it is really hard to stay motivated with this professor.
Stats is a hard class and there is pretty much no way around that. However, this professor is great. She is really willing to work with you and will do anything to help you achieve your target grade. 3 exams, 3 quizzes, Excel project, attendance grade. Never had a homework. Lectures are boring but easy to follow, she is really sweet!
Class is fine. She is not a very understanding teacher. Your grade is based off of the 3 tests and excel project. She is overall a nice person.
recommend finding other teachers for qmb 210
Possibly one of THE most confusing professors I have ever met. She's not mean, and does want her students to pass, but man is she confusing. If you're able to rearrange what she says in your head, then you'll be fine, but it can be unbelievably frustrating. The class isn't hard once you understand the material, so read the textbook for clarity.
She a nice person, however the test are really tough and she's not that great at explaining things to your understanding.
Dr Nisar is great, explains very well, one of my favorites at UT
You just have to go to class take notes and study. She's willing to help students and she'll push you up if you show afford in the class. Class participation and excel project will pull everything up at the end of the semester.
Lectures don't focus on whats gonna be on the tests and is constantly corrected by her students
She is a great professor, explains very well and tries to help students. Her lectures are engaging and motivating. Recommend taking her.
She's a very sweet professor, cares about her students and wants them to pass but she is also very confusing and staying focused in her class was very hard. Stats is hard enough as is to pass this class you have to do MOST of the work on your own to keep up. Her quizzes are fairly easy if you grasp the concepts. Overall I wouldn't not recommend her
No feedback at all, little explanation in all topics, no caring at all
Very average teacher and class. Not a lot of complaints and I would most likely take again. Overall I had a pretty good experience but nothing too life changing.
This teacher goes way too fast and doesn't give you anytime to process anything. If you have taken Stats before than you should be fine, I have never taken stats ,so trying to teach myself and only have 30min class was awful , wouldn't recommend.
One of the best professors at UT. Strongly recommend her. She is always available to get students, responds quickly on emails. Makes a difficult course easy.
This class is very difficult, probably one of the most difficult Business Courses at The University of Tampa but is required for every business major. Professor Nisar is the BEST QMB210 professor that you will get here. Attend class, listen do the few assignments and you should be fine. She is the sweetest woman and will truly help you
Professor Nisar is very clear in her lectures and will truly make you learn. She offers a lot of examples for each concept. Very caring and approachable. She ends the class as soon as she is done explaining. Won't leave you there if it's unnecessary. The book wasn't required and she doesn't give a lot of homework.
Professor Nisar is very good! Her lectures are quick and she won't keep you in class if it's not necessary. The content is hard but she gives good review problems before the tests. I would recommend her!
Overall,I read all of her reviews and was excited to take her class. I know this course was hard but she did not help at all. Her accent is very thick and after moving online I felt as if she did not want to help. She even said "everyone is going through something" and took no sympathy for people with COVID-19 problems. 0/10 rude and no help
Class is very lecture heavy and her grading scale makes 0 sense, first test 20 % compared to the others each being 5%. During the Pandemic, Instead of helping out students she started accusing students who did better of cheating and has handed out 5 AI's in my class alone, accusing students of cheating. Is a very Demeaning professor, AVOID or AI!!
This is the sweetest professor. She dumbs down everything and will explain multiple ways on how to do a problem. Best professor I could've asked for in Statistics. Definitely would take her again!!
she's an okay professor, she made problems super simple and would go over anything if people didn't understand. her lectures were pretty good and she was there for any help. during covid, she did keep accusing people of cheating and was really rude about it. she assigned loads of things that weren't worth many points to 'make things easy'
She is a very nice and caring person. That being said, she is difficult to understand and it only makes the already hard subject harder. When taking remote exams (which also uses Proctorio) she is not very helpful and will blame issues on you or your own computer instead of giving any sort of help. You have nightly homeworks, 3 quizzes, and 3 exams
Dr Nisar is a great professor, the course is very hard, statistics is not my thing, but she is caring and helps to do well. Her exams are fair and lectures are good. She is strict on attendance and homework, overall a good professor.
shes awesome shes the sweetest professor!!
she makes everything much more complicated. i had to learned everything by myself because she goes very fast. she does make a lot of practices before exam. be prepared to study a lot. she grades very few things which affected by grade. every exam is worth a lot!
She follows attendance and will mark you down if you don't show up. Just show up and sit in class for attendance points. She goes over everything you need to know in class. She goes through a study guide before the test and it's similar. HW is easy as long as you pay attention in class. Pay attention and should be fine.
Professor Nisar is a good choice for this class. Her lectures are good but she tends to move at a fast pace. Exams are ok, you just have to put effort in outside of the classroom! There is an excel project at the end of the semester that is easy to help your grade. The class itself is hard but as long as you make an effort you will be fine.
Dr Nisar is a great stats professor, probably one of the best at UT, the course is very difficult and she moves fast. She gives good feedback and prepares you well for the tests, she takes attendance so come to class. She replays to emails right away even on weekends.
Professor Nisar was one of the best professors I had at UT. The course she teaches is very difficult in general, but she makes the content so simple and digestible to understand. She really cares for her students, and wants them to do well. Once you pay attention to her detailed lectures, do the homework, and attend class, you'll do well in class.
Dr Nisar teaches very well and explains things with tones of questions. She is caring and wants the students to do well. I recommend her
If you ever have questions she answers to emails super fast. She is very nice and makes a hard class like stats a lot easier than most teachers. Sometimes her explanations are confusing but overall you should understand most of the class when you attend
Original was 2500 characters. It all fit on Climate Survey but most likely dumpster. The professor loves to remind the class how the class is one of the hardest classes in the school and how low the overall average is. It feels like the Professor is holding that title with pride. Everything is proctored, no make ups, no extra credit, no nothing.
she lectures alot and goes fast and if a student asks a question she just repeats herself and doesn't go into further detail. there are lots of tests and quizzes which are all quite hard. There is also an excel exam. she is available outside of class but sort of gives off the vibe that you are bothering her if you are in her office hours.
QMB210 across UT needs some change. The material after spring break, which is rather complex, seemed rushed. Assesments were par for college math. Problems/concerns brought up are not resolved too well in my opinion.Proctorio was incredibly distracting and is odd as she is in the room the whole time anyway.
Dr Nisar is a great professor, she takes care of her students. The course is fast paced but she gives so much material to learn it. Someone who wants to learn will learn it. Overall this is a difficult class, Dr Nisar is willing to help, she is always there for her students and wants them to do well. I liked her teaching style.Take her for QMB 210.
QMB 210 isn't a fun course at all. We all need to take it and Dr. Nisar understands that. She goes fairly fast, but if you need her to stop, just say so, as with all other professors. Her accent is strong, but you can understand all of what she's saying, which was one of my concerns. Quizzes/Tests are short and online, so don't get anything wrong.
If you are a person that requires more time to understand things, DO NOT CHOOSE HER
Horrible professor if you struggle with math. Doesn't care for her students and was super unhelpful and not understanding during the hurricane and thanksgiving break. Gives math tests ONLINE with no partial credit allowed and makes you take it on school computers so she can watch you take it. Overall, super rude and makes her students feel stupid.
Overall she's not a bad professor, but her questions in assignments and quiz are unclear and tricky for the most. Also, her grading system is not very fair.
Professor Nisar is a good teacher she truly cares for students and help them pass this difficult class. Stats is the most difficult class in business school, she responds to email fast even late in the evenings.
QMB-210 is a hard class no matter who you take. Prof Nisar understands this and explains it in a way that makes it easy to follow. She is so sweet and such a good teacher. You have 4 tests, 3 quizzes, a group project, and weekly homework. If you study for the tests and follow along for the project, you will do just fine. Best possible stats prof!
Mess up on an exam and it is EXTREMELY hard to come back. Doesn't really give any extra credit. She gives true or false quizzes on stats material which is not easy. Wording is confusing. I bombed 1/4 exams and dropped my average 16% causing me to finish the class with a C. Tough class, professor was decent.
Great choice for QMB. The class consists of her lecturing and doing many practice problems. She goes EXTREMELY fast so you have to be on top of it. There is one short hw assignment a week and an excel project. Exams and quizzes are online in class and are difficult. She prepares you thoroughly if you paid attention and practiced.
For someone who does not really like math this class was challenging at times. She goes through the material very fast. Doesn't go step by step on how to solve the problem, instead, she reads/teaches directly off the slides and then throws questions assuming we know what to do. She is nice but her teaching style is not the best.
Take it with professor Nisar, she is the best teacher for this statistics class. She really wants her students to learn, all material is available on blackboard, she also have recorded lectures on blackboard incase you miss a class. She easy to approach during office hours and also meets with students on zoom in the evenings,.
Nisar is awesome, she is organized and makes sure the students understand everything before moving forward. She is approachable after the class and is nice in her office hours. She gives weekly homework 4 exams, 3 quizzes and excel project. This class is difficult, but pay attention to her presentations and you will be fine.
She DOES NOT care about her students! exams and quizzes are nothing like what you learn in class. Go to her office hours and she will give you the side eye and just tell you to do more problems in the HW. She shouldn't be a professor at this school or anywhere. Save yourself and take someone else. Report her at all costs
Statistics is a difficult class but the professor makes it easy. We do tons on problems in class, weekly homework quizzes tests and one excel test. Just follow and come to all classes, see the professor in office hours and you will do well.
I am happy I took the class with professor Nisar. This professor truly knows statistics and is knowledgeable. Four exams, few quizzes and an excel project gives the students opportunities to do work for a good grade.
Dr.Nisar was a really good prof. Her class is def not easy, but if you do the homework AND the study guides you should be fine. Definitely have to put in the work for this class, but if you're taking stats she is one of the best you will get at UT.
Stats is a tough class especially for some students who may be required to take it even though they aren't majoring in it. I dont think professor Nisar really understands that as the material is pretty difficult and while she goes over it in class its usually not in depth enough and she goes over it quickly. Sometimes tests are not like the review.
please pay attention from day 1. if you put your phone down and take paper notes, actually listening and participating, you can ace this class. if i had done that from the start, I would of easily ended with an A. utilize office hours. she really does care, you just have to put in an effort
A very hard class but the professor was good, she cared about me and helped me in office hours. Would definitely take her again.
Professor Nisar is a great professor, she makes it easy to catch up on missed classes and clearly wants her students to learn and do well. She is flexible and approachable after the class even late in the evenings. I just love this professor. A huge thanks for everything, Dr Nisar!
I couldn't be more appreciative of a professor. Professor Nisar cares about her students so much and make it obvious. She tells you exactly what will be on quizzes and exams, and as long as you come to class you will succeed. Very sweet woman, i would recommend her to anyone.
This professor is a nice person, but extremely hard to understand in her lectrures with very hard exams. She does not describe the material well and makes it really confusing. Other classes have teachers that teach them in a much easier way with more material other than just exams, quizzes, and homework.
Very respected professor, exams and quizzes require a lot of work to get a good grade, and if you're looking for an easy A, this is not it. However it's easy to get an A if you just study and take good notes, she gives a good amount of what is to be expected on the exams & quizzes. Offers extra credit and an easy Excel text to boost your grade.
I am taking this class online this summer, it is a difficult class but the professor is always available to help. Her lectures and expectations are straight forward. I wish I had taken this class with Prof Nisar in person. She truly cares and wants the students to succeed.
The class is extremely difficult, taking it online is even more difficult but the professor was nice, she met with me on Zoom and helped me learning. I would recommend taking this class in person with Dr Nisar.
She's very nice and extremely smart. However she teaches some very high level courses in statistics and it shows in class, this course which is supposed to be an intro to business stats is very accelerated for what it is. Dr. Nisar moves very quickly so you need to be locked in. Very by the book and expects you to spend a lot of time outside class.
Class is very straight forward. Go through powerpoint, practice problems after, homework based on powerpoint. She makes it very easy to do well.
She is very smart and teaches other high-level classes which definitely shows. Not super test heavy as there are lots of different assignments you are able to earn points on. Tests are fair but she says she aims to have a 75-78% test average. Took AP stats in high school so I had an easier time with the class.
Professor Nisar is sweet and caring. Her lectures are straight forward, power point presentation, problems in class and Homework, you have many opportunities to improve your grade. Attendance is mandatory. She wants her students to do well.
This class was difficult because I had no stats background and the lecture moved fast. try not to be absent often as she always takes attendance and everyday is an important lecture. i did not do as well as I wanted to in this class because the lecture was so fast paced. Nisar really encouraged you though adn there are various assignments to help
She is nice and willing to help, she moves fast in class and covers a lot, if you miss one class you are behind. The tests are fair, homework is pointless, she gives many opportunities to improve the grade. Overall nice and caring.
I dont know why her ratings are so low, shes so sweet and easy to learn such a hard concept from. Easy homework and critical thinking assignments and 3 20 question exams. She is amazing take her!!!!!
I loved Professor Nisar. Stats are hard but the way she explains concepts and gives examples was really helpful. Exams are all 20 multiple choice questions and the homework is easy. She genuinely cares about her students and makes herself available if you have any questions. Take her!!
I am not doing well in this class but the professor is great. She cares about the students and goes the extra mile to help. Stats is the hardest class I have taken. She can loose her temper in class if she sees someone cheating. Dont cheat. Take her!!!!
This professor is the best, shes so clear and makes stats seem easy.
I loved the way this class was organized online. Easy to follow and very organized. I like the way she explains difficult concepts in her lectures. She was approachable and helpful during virtual meetings. Will definitely recommend her.
FAV TEACHER LOVE HER
Great Professor. Always smiling and happy. Take her.
There is not much work to do outside of class compared to other QMB210 courses. She genuinely is the nicest person and actually cares well for her students. If you put in the effort and visit her office hours, the class is easy, and you will be fine.
