This was her first semester at Purdue and I absolutely loved her! She is a great professor who presents the material in a way that is easy to understand. The class itself is very fast-paced, but it was manageable in the way it was taught. She is always willing and excited to accept questions during class, and her review sessions are super helpful!

If you take this class, this is the professor to get. I haven't heard a single person say that they didn't love this professor. She loves when people ask questions, even in a lecture hall. Opens up study sessions to everyone taking the course. The homework is hard, but doable with the book. If you skip this class, you will not pass, period.

Dr. Low-Nam was incredibly caring to all of her students. She always encouraged questions in lectures and kindly answered them. The class is set up so that if you utilize all the resources and put in the work, you will succeed. Exam III will be the most challenging.Tough course (at least for someone who didn't take AP chem) but great professor.

Biggest thing for me was watching the video lectures when exams were nearby..I realized that during class I couldn't pay attention so much- One look away from the screen and 8 million new topics popped up, but I'm so grateful for the video lectures and being able to take it at my own pace- DEFINITELY utilize any resources you can; this is not easy!

This course covers a lot of material, and I respect this professor's ability in introducing and guiding students through major concepts. I was able to keep up and pass the course, even though I didn't have any prior knowledge of the subject. She gives clear and accurate answers to students' questions as well.

Dr. Low Nam is awesome! She is super skilled in her knowledge of chemistry which was clear during lectures. While the content was difficult she was ready to answer questions and explain concepts again to make them more understandable. There is a lot of work to do outside of class but with good time management it wasn't a struggle.

Dr. Low-Nam is an incredible teacher who demonstrates clear interest in her students' success. She explains concepts thoroughly in class and is always open to questions. Personally, I watched the lecture videos online instead of attending the lectures but found her to be incredibly engaging in both formats. Be sure to take advantage of recitation.

Dr. Low Nam is an incredible professor. She makes sure to address all questions throughout lectures, takes time to thoroughly cover each concept, and immediately clarifies any confusion. She provides a sufficient amount of extra credit opportunities and creates very fair exams and study material. I would 100% recommend anyone to take her!

She is the best professor/teacher I have ever had in my life. She truly cares about the students that she teaches; I have never met someone so passionate about bettering the lives of students. She was one of the first professors I had in college and I wouldn't change anything about her for the world. Also, GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!!!!

She goes fast during lectures, but talks clearly so its ok. Slides are easy to understand. 12901 is a freshman-level course and she 100% accommodates students for that. Gives lots of chances to ask questions during lecture. Unfortunately the class structure itself is a little confusing with the recitations and labs.

Dr. Low-Nam was an outstanding professor, especially given the accelerated and quite challenging course. Compared to the other professor, Low-Nam is understandable and provides us with numerous opportunities to grasp the same concept. The TAs are nice graders for the test and lab reports, but the exams for this class are definitely a challenge.

She is a good professor, but the lectures feel rushed. The lecture exams don't always truly reflect what is learned in lectures, but everything is mostly there. There are extra credit on every exam, but the points per question are too much. Lots of time commitment for this course since its 5 credits. Labs are doable and on the exam.

Low-Nam though being harsh with the tests does want every single one of her students to succeed. I will say that the challenges in this course are the pacing and how the content is tested though they are very forgiving with mistakes and errors and you have more resources for help than the difficulty of the course requires. They want you to do good!

Passionate about chemistry and her students succeeding. Labs are fun and reports aren't bad. Homework isn't that bad, but when it comes to exams, really the only problems that help are the problem solving session ones. Understand the content forwards and backwards because the exams are challenging. Plenty of extra credit.

Overall, an amazing professor. Passionate about chemistry and does well to engage and know students. Learn the material CONCEPTUALLY, DO NOT try to brute force important concepts. Use ChaptGPT to create practice problems in diff scenarios. Exams are styled in a way where the questions are asked differently from how they're shown in lecture.

Chem 129 is a very, very difficult course. She makes it easy. Offers a lot of extra review outside of normal lectures. Easily one of the kindest, most clearly caring professors I've had. Incredibly easy to ask questions to, and answers them well. If you have a different lecturer, go to hers instead, she's flat out awesome. Great chemist and teacher
