Worst teacher i have ever had, loves to hear herself speak and teaches the class nothing. Do not take this class

Extremely difficult and not understanding of her students. If you work or have children I advise you not to take this course with this teacher. Your work load will be the equivalent of 3 classes

Horrible. Literally does not shut up for three seconds about herself. She's extremely arrogant and calls herself, "The Doc", every chance she has. Makes her classes post on twitter for absolutely no reason. DO NOT TAKE HER. I completely agree that she should be working just about anywhere else but a higher education setting.

She violated every timeline in her syllabus, she ignored emails, and is a vindictive grader, didn't post assignments and tested us on them anyway. No showed office hours for 3 of 5 weeks (summer semester) She would be 3 days-week late, post 3 assignments at once then tell you to "catch up" over the weekend.

Talks NONSTOP about irrelevant matters!! If you are looking to learn nothing about English and everything about finances then this is the class for you. DOES NOT TEACH! Be prepared to learn everything you need to know for your numerous ridiculous writings from the rules for writers book.

i managed to get out of her class with a c, but she doesn't teach you anything about English. she actually avoided handing out her student reviews and if you take her for English 101 you're screwed for 102

I learned absolutely nothing about English. She talks forever to the point where you can sleep in her class, wake up and she will still be talking about random stuff. The syllabus is useless as well cause you do nothing that it says. Do not take, just do yourself that favor.

This professor or should I say Dr. is by far the worst teacher I've had in my history of classes. She did not go by the required text book. instead she made us get comic books, very full of herself, Labels herself as the doc!! very cocky and not understanding. you can barely catch up with her because she gets off topic. I had to work so hard to teach myself to get an A I struggled throughout the course. Never again she's full of herself and you could not show up to class and learn the same as going to class.

Did not teach me anything. Her assignments made no sense. Class was extremely boring. The reading materials were childish and didn't make me learn anything.

I had her for Eng 102. It was horrible. She was very cocky and full of herself. Rather than have us read books that are interesting and could help us improve our writing she picked childish material. She made us read comic books and anime. They were things she was interested but not the majority of the class. She gave ridiculous assignments.

By far the worst professor I ever had. We do nothing on the syllabus, she expects you to teach yourself and she doesn't do anything but talk all period about absolutely nothing. She throws papers in your face. My writing hasn't improved at all and none of the writing involves critical thinking. All we do is write similarities and differences.

The worst class I've ever taken. Spends the entire class talking on and on and on about the most irrelevant details regarding each "subject" or text being discussed. Class drags on painfully and its very hard to focus on her rambling for more than 10 minutes without getting lost. Attendance is the foundation for a decent grade in her class.

youre not going to learn anything about English. The comic books and short stories are really stupid and interest only like the 3 nerdy kids obsessed with superheroes. Shes a nice lady and has good days but she gets easily irritated with anything not done exactly how she wants it. Very nitpicky but just sit on your phone with your back to her.

DON'T TAKE A CLASS WITH HER. Her grading is so harsh, if you don't follow her unclear directions EXACTLY as she wants it, you'll fail. When I emailed her twice about feedback and extra credit, she ignored them and sent an email to the entire class saying "Do not send me emails, I will not read them." She a nice person and all but my god the lectures are brutal. If there was another class I would have dropped it. Its a 1:15 min lecture with 45 minutes of it just talking about nonsense. Avoid at all cost.

Very very tough grader and makes you write a whole bunch of nonsense for each essay. The final paper is practically impossible to write with all the requirements and things she wants you to include in the paper.

This professor care zero, have no respect for students. Do yourself a favor choose another lecturer. If you send a email you won't receive a response but expect a group message to everyone with no clarity. Horrible professor.

One of the worst professors Ive ever had. Did not teach a single thing, thinks she is better than everyone, gives zero respect, and will make you feel dumb for emailing with questions.

She talks down to the class a lot, isn't respectful to the students, super hard to contact outside of class, and leaving the class at the end of the semester I felt as if I didn't learn anything. She does not explain herself at all, and will expect you to figure everything out on your own. Definitely would not recommend.

For a short semester (Flex 1) and 4 days to do the work she wants to do is ridiculous. You have to reply to a least 12-14 people in discussion to get 2.5 points. She has 4 discussion threads and you have to reply to 12-14 ppl in EACH THREAD. If you are short of that amount, she will give you a zero. RIDICULOUS.

This professor does not answer questions only quotes the syllabus. You must post 11+ times in each discussion thread to get participation credit. You get 4 days of the week to do so and if enough people do not reply to your post you cannot achieve the minimum amount. requires a 4000 word essay with only 2 weeks to write. AVOID!!

Gives ridiculously excessive amount of reading. She's very blunt and condescending when you ask her questions. She doesn't seem to understand that students have things to do besides her classwork. Instructions are consistently unclear and she makes you feel stupid for asking for clarification. Do not take any class with her!!!

Makes you do extra work for no reason. had to reply to 60 classmates posts every week or else you won't get a good grade. the hw is the easy part it's replying to over 60 + comments in 2 days that is just annoying. and it is mandatory. Stupid videos and poems what a waste of time.

Do not take a class with this professor. I have never done so bad, I dont mean to sound cocky but my grade reflects her teaching. Terrible communicator; does not answer a message you send to her back, can never get in touch with her, grades assignments weeks late, rude when she does answer you back. Worst Professor ever! Discussion boards opened on weekends and gave us only a few days to work on it. She takes forever to grade and pretty much all of the work in her class does not count because she makes the final paper the deciding factor between passing or failing the class. Many students failed the paper and gave us 1 day to revise it. BEWARE

This woman is literally the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. She is a walking textbook, full of knowledge on her subject, but the literal worst TEACHER. She does not teach, she doesn't grade your work. You spend a majority of the class wondering if you are passing. All in all, do not recommend. Not even if you are a 'good student'.

Should've listened to other reviews, works on a sunday-wednesday schedule for online. everything is due at 10pm instead of the normal 11:59PM deadline. If you miss a quiz she WILL NOT let you talk it again. Only had her for 2 weeks and was miserable so I dropped out. This should be a last resort teacher and even then you should reconsider the class

The worst prof ever! The workload is unrealistic and takes forever to grade. You do multiple discussions every week, you have an initial post, people respond, then you respond, in 3 days. The semester is over and I still don't have a grade. I get the work if this was an honors class, but a paper with 5000 words to determine if you pass? Ridiculous

Proffesor mitchell is very unprofessional in many ways. She is a very rude teacher and very insulting at times. She will respond to your emails in the nastiest attitudes ever and call you out sometimes during class in front of everyone. She makes us read these really inappropriate books that show really sexual content. And so much work weekly. Bad.

This absolute Brainlet of a professor shouldn't allowed within a 100 feet of a school. She shows zero care or any resemblance of compassion for her students. Dr. Mitchell should not be teaching a college-level English class. Her feedback timeframes are terrible, and she provides little guidance on navigating the complicated Gaia interface she requires us to use. Class time is spent awfully, she is very rude and makes her students read works she has published in what seems like a promotion attempt.

Every time I genuinely send her an email asking for help or clarity, her responds always made me feel so bad, like if I was a mediocre. The way she "professionally responded but at the same time so greedy. She doesn't seem to be interested about students being successful at her class and didn't allow me to drop off her course. This professor requires participation through Gaia Online, a defunct anime message board from 2004, rather than using the perfectly functional D2L Brightspace discussion boards. The formatting is extremely bad, it's difficult to keep track of things, but she expects THIRTY POSTS PER UNIT on top of essays. It's also a TON of assigned reading.

If you take her asynchronous class, no assignments are organized, and she never explains the assignments when you ask her. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!

Very tough grader. Gave about 15-30 readings per UNIT that only lasted TWO WEEKS. Used a very difficult and strange website for discussion posts, which made the class unnecessarily difficult. Would not recommend anybody to take her class. STAY FAR AWAY!

This class was an absolute joke. The Gaia Online platform is absurd and terrible to navigate especially when RCC has a perfectly fine D2L platform to utilize. The icing on the cake was that one of the required books to purchase for the class was a comic book written by her! I dropped this class and am so upset that my time was wasted.

What a dreadful experience! I regretted registering for this class on day 1 and it only got worse from there! She utilizes a defunct anime based website where you collect coins and badges (in college? seriously?). She called us "digitally illiterate" when we questioned why the website was so difficult to navigate. The worst professor ever!

Horrific Teacher. Took this class asynchronously over the summer, and nothing about it made sense. She will not respond to emails, only Brightspace instant messaging. The due dates in the syllabus do not match the due dates assigned on Brightspace. The assignments were difficult to find, and when they were found were near incomprehensible.

Very bad experience. Instructions for every assignment are very confusing and specific. Marks very hard. I'm normally a straight A student and essays are very easy for me. Not in this class.

Dr Mitchell is the worst teacher I've ever had. She is arrogant and insulting if you ask a question. I am an A honor student but she failed me without giving me an explanation. I did all the readings annd assignments and her instructions are confusing and often contradictory. I emailed her 4 times to ask for clarification and she never responded.

She didn't seem bad at first, but then she I saw the site she wanted us to submit our work on. She seems nice but it doesn't make the workload that is left for you acceptable. It's overwhelming and she is tough when it comes to grading. Expects you to purchase mangas and her own book for the curriculum.

Stubborn teacher who insists that everything you need is on her D2L. The professor insists on having her students follow certain guidelines in a game used for class (a game not sponsored by the school) but many instructions on there are years old. She has a lack of interest in her students and makes it impossible to communicate with. STAY AWAY!

One of the worst teachers I've crossed paths with! I understand that I signed up for an online class, but her workload is overbearing. She gives deadlines, and in between adds an excessive amount of work and essays to be due right before her original work. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Not so Helpful at all. Her syllabus on D2L is not very clear. I understand that this course started late, but the work provided is overwhelming. She says that the work would be graded in 10-14 days, but waits a whole month to give a grade. The feedback provided isn't even helpful. You reach out for help, and her response are horrible.
