Exam was okay. Very helpful.
I like teaching style, very helpful
i mite not hav gotten a satisfactory mark, but extremly helpful, alot of flexibility, and pretty much directs u wuite well in the exam perperation...most off all he is there anytime u need help
very very accessible...always there when a student needs his help...almost goes out of his way to help. Very nice and encouraging.
All I Can say is WOW! so helpful, he teaches everything that we will need. The exam was so easy due to his precise teaching. Great Prof.
bad prof!...i found exam hard!!
Teaches well, i didn't work hard, exam was hard but from the material what he told us. I hope that he will teach QM - II 3330 also.
He is a very good prof. very well detailed and helps out alot on exams and midterms. It is a little hard to understand at first but you get used to him
hard to understand due to accent but you get used to at after..good teaching though...very helpful
Nice teacher, a lot of practice questions, and easily available, I love to take some more courses from him.
very nice teacher! he goes out of his way to help students. i will definatley take another class with him. I wish all teachers were this caring. he is really intelligent and doesnt just read powerpoints like most teacher he ACTUALLY TEACHES YOU. and he has a good sense of humour as well. keep up the good work!
Very Nice Professor, Work Hard. I took this course in S2. Midterm was very easy. We were expecting for hard final. But final was not hard but lengthy. Nothing surprising question. Almost same problems what he did in class. His sample Final Question also helped alot. Frankly speaking final was good for those who practice a lot.
Simply Excellent
I want an "A" but ended up with B+, Still Happy. I learned a lot. Key for success: Attend lectures, and pay attention on inclass problem solution on Board.
worst pro i have even seen. indian accent can kill you within five minutes. he is not responsible. i remember once we had an quiz, and i asked him about the format of quiz, he said multiple choice only, but the week after when we had quiz, he gave us shot answers. people got so pissed! he lied to students!
He sucks..... ok..... no matter how he is good in ADMS 3300.... but he really don't know how the fxxx to teach 3345.... It is not hard to get high marks... but it is definitely impossible to learn anything from his class... unfortunately he is the only prof to teach 3345... good luck if u need 3345....
Good Prof. Very helpful. You will get alot if followed the tips.
Good Prof. Very helpful. You will get alot if followed the tips. Course need time to study.
Good course, completely different than other courses, Modeling was nice experience, With the help of prof it became easy. I like his bonus questions. He always follow what he told in class. If you miss the lecture than you are loser. Great !!! Keep it up...
He seems like he knows a lot, it is just really too bad you cannot understand him. He has a very thick accent and most students cannot keep up with what he is saying. When you ask him for one on one help you get frustrated not understanding what he is saying. He cannot speak English properly and yet makes fun of other students who do not either.
Interesting course, interesting material, but what a way to ruin it by taking this guy's class. You cannot understand him clearly. Midterm was ok but final I just wrote it tonight was absolutely brutal!! I studied like 12 days, read everything. I am either really dumb or this guy is very very tough. Good luck in decision analsis everyone. 3/10
Had him as a TA for stats 1. Wonderful teacher. Made concepts CRYSTAL clear. Will keep explaining till EVERYONE in the room understands.
Excellent Prof, he explains everything crystal clear and goes through various examples to make sure you understand the concept, he cuts the crap and gets to the point. His exams are similar to the questions he does in tutorial so attend them! It can be difficult to understand him at times, but overall, great prof for a math/stats course
I dont understand the negative comments below. I have been taking his class from Jan 2010, he is very very serious prof. He even spends his time to give help students on reading week. His lecture is very detailed and organized so you can easy to understand hard concepts. Accent doesnt matter when you learn. The way of teaching is important.
Explains content very well with use of examples.
I took Stats 1 and 2 at York and found them extremely difficult, 3300 is similar to Stats but Professor Abdullah explains so well that it makes life so much easier! would recommend him for stats as well.
Took internet class with this guy, I failed the midterm, trying hard to pass the final. Whenever you ask this guy a question he never responds straightforward.
The course itself is very easy...but he's trying to make it hard and make students feel so confused. never listen to his students, you have to do eveything exactly the way he does or you will get low marks, yet the solution for assignments are inconsistent, but he's never admitted his mistakes on the solution.
He is a very good prof. May seem rude and strict at first, but actually very nice prof if he sees that you are serious. Whatever he explains on the board comes out in the exam; got to his tutorials, they will ensure a very good grade. Course content is not that hard once you understand it and for that, go to the lectures. try not to miss any.
worst prof ever, try to avoid at any cost!
His lectures are well oragnized and extremely crystal. He is willing to help students and knows well about statistics.
this prof is worst ever, never replied to email. i read textbook to understand the whole course. don't take courses with him.
AMAZING. He tells you straight to the point what you need to know and how to do it on the exam. Everything he says that will be on the quiz/exam shows up. I have an A right now, whereas I almost failed Stats 1 because of a bad prof. TAKE STATS 2 WITH HIM AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
Hard to understand him due to his THICK accent but he takes up A LOT of problems in class and encourages students to attempt the questions. He goes really fast so you have to go to class PREPARED or you will not understand a thing.
Difficult to understand but follows the slides which he posts online. The slides also coincide with the text. His assignments are only worth 5% each but they are very tedious and time consuming. His quizzes were also challenging. Practice relevant questions from the text and understand the theoretical portion of chapters. Make a good 'cheat' sheet
I love his class. He may not be the most entertaining professor, but he is the best prof to take Statistics. Attending his lecture will help significantly to get good grades on exams. I hope other people do well on this course.
A good professor. Although his accent is thick but he teaches according to the exam. He tells you what is important for the exam.
Go to class and read the slides then the course will be extremely easy. However, don't expect to get any help outside of class. He never respond to e-mail and when do, answers are never direct. That why you must ask question during his lecture if you want any clarification.
never answers emails, very poor English. very arrogant. explains in a thorough fashion though.
his class is fun and he teaches the material very well. Midterm was a killer! and overall grades are bad. Having 2 midterms and one final is unrealistic, as there is no assignments to bump up your marks. He gives hints on what is coming in the exam, follow his words. Challenging material, you think its easy but exams are hard. Study hard.
Good proffessor, has an accent but he is good regardless.
makes a mistake in final exam on numbering, then gives us 10 mins extra, when students like me spent over 30 mins figuring the Q out, very rude, never emails back, for proj mgmt, or stats ..stay away at all cost.
Decent professor. Tests are a bit tight but fair, and grading is more than generous. Just practice what he tells you to, because he is true to his word on all tests. He reviews previous lectures each session to make sure students are on track. Come to all classes, and you are pretty much set. Still, he should start replying to emails.
He is an amazing prof. It is difficult to understand he sometimes but he is by far the best stats prof. He makes sure that everyone understands the material and gives plenty of examples for practice.
I took online for this course though I recommend taking it in class. Prof is very clear with lectures and materials. He will make sure you get everything crystal clear. He doesnt mark exams and assignment himself though.Seems a bit rude sometimes but he is funny too.
I gave very good review this guy for adms3300, but with 3331 my experience was totally different! Very rude, don't bother what other thinks, didn't reply to my emails, I asked some questions after class and he just humiliated me in front of all. The course is kinda hard work, gotta study hard. Never gonna take his class anymore.
This prof is the MAN! Attend his classes and he will teach you the content in a crystal clear method. Does a great job of prepping you for the exams. Made the course very fun!!
the Professor has been teaching for more than 10 years as he says but I have my reservations to that, he needs to improve upon his communication skills, his ability to make students understand with relevant examples in project management. He can be a good TDSB teacher grade 4-8 level Math teacher.
Aweful professor! I will never take a class with him again. The worst professor ever. Could not understand his lectures or accent. Most examples were useless. Never answers question properly in class and very confusing and rude.
I took Project Management with the Professor, I was highly disappointed, as the professor was very vague, rude (does not answer questions)and does not reply to emails at all. If you want to learn anything take the course with someone else.
One of the best profs ive ever had. this man is professional and knows what he is teaching. if u need an A just go to his class and pay attention. its that easy!
Took ADMS 3330 with him before. He was much better with that course. But for 3300, he's really bad. Will not recommend anyone. One of the weakest profs in York I think. He shouldn't teach this course, makes simple things compilacated. The course material is not that difficult. But he makes it complicated and confuses you.
Avoid this prof as much as you can. Has a huge accent! Not clear in his explanations. Looks for ways to blame faults on students. Overall, very unorganized prof. Will not recommend taking course with him.
Worst prof for ADMS 3300. The course itself is not hard but he will confuse you enough until you have a really hard time to learn what it actually is in those chapters. He will mark your quizzes and you will have no idea how he marks it. Do not go in with high expectations. Avoid him as much as you can. Hope that helps or you can see it for urself.
Terrible teacher, rude, tries to embarrass students when they ask questions, makes lots of errors in his examples and utterly confusing with simple concepts. Stay away at all costs. He did answer my email, albeit curtly in one sentence.
His accent is a problem but his lecture is full and comprehensive. If you follow him in the class and take the notes carefully, you won't feel hard. you may get a good mark easily before the final. However, his final exam will be on a completely different level. It's extremely hard and time consuming. SO, Be careful!
I'm a 4th year student and i've never had such a hard time with a prof before! he is extremely unapproachable. Deliberately tries to embarrass you in class. Does not answer questions or follow the textbook and his notes are an absolute disaster. I had to make all of my own notes and study like crazy just to get a B. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Prof is good with numerical examples. However, theory explanations are very difficult to understand. Prof can come off as rude to students, and gives poor explanations to questions. Did not seem open to student feedback for assignments. Personally would not take another course with this prof.
He was my tutorial leader for ADMS 2320. Without him I don't think I would have understood the material as well as I do. The lectures are great, but he recaps the whole chapter and explains key concepts and then we solve a number of questions which really wraps it all up. He goes step by step through every question, yet is not slow. His pace is per
He appears to be rude, because he doesn't welcome any questions from the students and make you feel embarrased for asking them in front of the class. He also explains basic theories in class, but gives tricky, not standard problems to solve on exams.
The worst professor ever to deal with . He changed the exam pattern at the end . Not a helpful professor will end up getting rude behavior .
He appears to be rude, because he doesn't welcome any questions from the students and make you feel embarrased for asking them in front of the class. He also explains basic theories in class, but gives tricky, not standard problems to solve on exams. He is terrible and seems to want to see students not pass. Non standard problem
Never take course with him, he is a nightmare! Never reply email never! Never answer ur question! He is extremely tough marker and he think he is the smartest guy in this world!
not standard questions in final exam!! terrible prof. I'd ever had!!
Lectures are pretty good.
Like others have said he makes things that aren't complicated, complicated. A very poor professor. Likes to blame students rather than own up to his weaknesses. Often states there were people that got over 80 so of course he couldn't do anything wrong! Props to those students, they probably could've taught themselves. If you wanna stress choose him
He Is very Difficult to understand and his lectures follow no specific pattern he's all over the place. He isn't much of a help when asked questions either, he expects students to know everything
asking questions from him is a scary feeling, it seems he doesn't like it all that much. he tries to be as clear as possible and he is for the most part. his voice tone is like he is yelling at you and he has a thick accent but you can get use to it. he is humorous from time to time and that changes your mood even if it's for couple of seconds.
He give me 0 for my assignment in front of my face in class, just because I wrote it instead of typed it! I spent at least 8 hours in 2 days to finish this assignment, I know every single point asked from it, I am sure I can get at least 85%. And He write a Red 0 on my cover page in front of me and the class and said "I told you."
I though I might benefit from this course on a personal level but nah. The professor is bad. He just read the lectures' slides and barely solve problems and you have to figure everything by your self. The assigments and quizes are stupidly long. I regret taking this useless course and this prof just made it even worse.
Just avoid this course if you want to keep your GPA high. The exams are long and not enough time to solve it. the multiple choice, specially, are very long to read, confusing and not focused on specific subject. So bad so bad so baaaaaaaaaaddddddd. Just dont take it.
Im pretty sure the exams to become a professional project manager are easier than his exams. He expects the students to become experts in an elective course instead of just introducing the different topics. The average his classes are low, even after a curve the average remains in the C range. Avoid him, for ALL the courses he teaches.
Tells you what to expect on exams, really focuses and highlights things that would be important and required. Straight forward with the content and really easy to get a A in his classes. (Practically gives you the answers for exams on the tutorials and class lectures)
He is extremely rude. He has insulted many students in the class and absolutely no open to questions. If you ask him, he will literally say you tell me and will humiliate you in front of the whole class for next 15 min. He is absolutely not helpful and accommodating, in fact make it sound like you are pretending to be accessible. worst prof ever
Worst profs I have ever seen. Extremely rude. And he definitely wouldn't help you with your questions and problems. AVOID HIM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
Hard marker. Worst prof in York.
The worest professor, and the exams are long and not enough time to solve it .
extremely rude to students, wouldnt even let students finish their questions, not able to explain concepts well, not even able to answer some students' questions. Assignments are stupidly long, you probably would need to spend a week to work on an assignment which only worths 5%
All his tasks are impossible to finish. 1 question let you write two A4 pages, and single space, only weight 0.25 of total mark. I never see professor like this. DO NOT TAKE HIS 3351.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Absolutely horrible Professor. He teaches you the most basic concepts, but in tests it is 100X harder. Assignments are extremely long (takes you about a week to complete and is only worth 4%)! He expects students to know everything after his lectures. Very rude and unfair. Very sad there's no other prof teaching this course.
I think there is a common trend with these garbage 3351 profs. Not a single one has a good review for their 3351 course. Of course York hires all these rejects. These profs give you the wrong answers in the solutions they provide. They also make the tests and exams 100x harder than the exam. This is coming from someone who did every tbook question
Had him for ADMS 3353. He explained the material pretty well and was emphasized things to watch out for when working on questions for the midterm and exam.
The main issue for my course was that there is a chapter (Simplex tableau) and we spent almost 3 weeks on that alone. The prof also mentioned that the final would consist almost mostly of this chapter only yet out of 108 marks for the final, only 13 marks of one question came from this chapter. The exam was 100x harder than what he taught.
The questions he shows in class are so DAMN EASY and you walk out feeling confident that you understand it. On the quizzes, assignments and exams he makes the questions so TOUGH, LONG and COMPLICATED. Avoid this professor at all costs if you can. He's not worth the money you're paying for this course. WORST PROFESSOR at Yok.
This professor needs to learn how to reply to emails. He either replies 5 days after students send emails or doesn't reply at all. Additionally, he talks in a very loud and aggressive manner to students, and on occasion, he engages in aggressive yelling at various students for small mistakes or accidents.
Although I did good in this course, this prof is not good. He speaks in a very rude way to students like they are his children. He has to learn to respect students. We pay to be there - so he should let his emotions out someplace else
Save yourself from mental trauma, find another professor.
Worst prof for an AMDS course. You can not even use a laptop or an electronic device to take notes, he is so rude, and old style professor, his lectures are long, boring and he always go to the limit time wise, also he has a strong accent. Just don't please, save your money and gpa.
Lectures and materials help prepare you for exams but a tough grader.
The worst professor I've ever had. HE IS TRYING TO MAKE YOU FAIL.
Bad. Will try to make you fail. Does not care.
I had this prof for the summer term. At the start I honestly didn't like him, he seemed to be very moody and didn't treat student respectively. However, he starts to lighten up.. I will say he doesn't allow laptops or phones while in class, so be sure to keep that away, but he teaches the material well and is honest for what to expect on exams.
The assignment makes no sense to me by any design, his course won't help you for any education purpose or set you up for success, a total waste of time. Teaching this course only to get paid. Honestly the worst teacher and total waste of life.
Professor Abdullah is nice and wants his students to succeed, but I found his teaching style to be incompatible with the way I learn. I wish we could have gone through tougher examples in class in addition to the basic ones. Ultimately, this course is one you will have to teach yourself. Rules around midterms felt unfair and excessively complex.
You get 1 chance to learn the problem when he does it in lecture, that's it. No textbook solutions, no recorded tutorials, and will scream at you if you take a picture of the board in lecture. Assignments that take days are worth less than 6%, and test questions are ridiculously wordy/difficult compared to the 1 practice example he does. AVOID!
Professors teaching style is awful he can barely speak English so its hard to understand him plus he has this weird way of old school teaching York should get rid of him as soon as possible
Lectures cover key material, but exams are tough. unstuck ai and the textbook helped me prepare better for tests. Overall, a challenging but rewarding course.
I liked prof's teaching methods. He wasn't rude to me personally but I've seen him being rude to a really good student for a mistake he made( prof announced the numbers incorrectly and the student obviously had an incorrect answer due to the prof's mistake). In general his tone is quite rude too.
If you are used to strict/particular teachers you'll be fine. Assignments are 6% but require hours of work. Midterm was much more difficult that the practice questions given in class. Show up to every lecture and ask him any questions in person and if you work hard you'll get a B+/A, if you have a heavy course load don't take this course.
Very supportive and knowledgeable instructor. He explains concepts clearly and takes the time to ensure every student understands before moving forward.
Very strict prof who bans photos of the board. Gives only one easy practice question, but exams are way harder and unrelated. No extra materials or past exams. You can't see quiz mistakes, so it's hard to improve. If you don't understand in class, there's no help or resources available.
ADMS 3353 could be an easy course but the prof makes it extremely difficult. The test questions are very difficult for such an easy course. Don't any classes with this prof or you will never do well.
Easy content but I don't know why they make tests and exams fairly harder than the lecture and tutorial practice questions. Professors need to learn and give past exams as proper practice for students if they want their students to do well... overall mostly useless content like most courses which you will forget a couple days after the exam...
