Very smart man, however he is very arrogant and full of himself and thereby is not very understanding. He thinks he is the only one who can be right and won't even bother listening to you if you have a legit question or concern. He has a tendancy to try to make you feel stupid when in reality he has just too big of an ego to admit he may be wrong.

Pros: Very knowledgeble, take him if you want to learn smth. I took him fall 09 and i am glad i did.Cons: Every single class he was late, even on Final! Every other class he makes fun of GOD, and his exsistence. He should stop doing this, religious is everybody's choice & if you don't believe in smth - dont make fun of it. Other then that - take him

professor shane is such a great teacher and is actually pretty funny. his tests are easy as long as you keep up with the reading and occasionally attend class. he doesnt take attendance and gives 10 extra credit points with your grade. i actually looked forward to going to his class. highly recommended!! you learn so much and its explained clearly

I think Shane Moshiri is a good professor... He does have quite a sarcastic-style humour - but people shouldn't take his outbursts too seriously. It is quite funny to attend class and there is often a discussion about recent economic developments around the world. Not too hard class but you have to study for tests in order to pass them.

I like my Economics class a lot and Shane is a really good professor! He is funny and easy to understand when he gives explanations, he is very enthusiastic about economics. The only thing that keeps Prof. Moshiri from being one of the best is that he has a bit difficulties in understanding and responding to questions. Overall very good though!

I never missed any classes with him. I think he sometimes speaks too quickly. Only people with thick skin can ask him questions. He responds demeaningly, or so it seems. I know I never dared ask him anything. He is not boring though, and with this subject, people like him are the exception. Also, sometimes he goes off on rants, I don't mind, but I could tell others would rather not be there when he does. This is one of the classes it really helps to read ahead.

If you don't like math, this is the class for you. The first day's lecture was really interesting, but then, it became awfully boring because the professor was repetitive and monotonous and I felt like the class lacked a lot of energy. He can't answer questions directly either. In the days I had him, I didn't learn a thing.

Grade inflation, arrogant, rambling, teacher trying to impress students w/tales of life as an academic. Used photocopied "text" that can't be sold back, was not proofed, and poss penned by friend of his. Did not cover material in depth but claimed "qual over quantity!" and excused us min. 30 mins early every day for 41/2 wks of a 6 wk class. Waste.

This was my biggest regret at SMC. Ruined my GPA because he doesn't want to teach. He is rude, arrogant, unethical, and won't help you. If you are great at econ and can learn 100% from the book, ok. Old online codes work, don't let him sell you the book he gets a cut from. Book wasn't proof-read and he pushes it hard, even though it's extra credit

Either, you like him or you dislike him, alot. He is very passionate about economics. Dont take this course if you're not serious. The textbook is like $100 and you can't get it anywhere else but the student store. Make sure you read. Class consists of 3 major tests, all equal. Not approachable. Worst teacher I've encountered.

Goes on tangents regularly which forces him to skip chapters. Sounds okay, right? No, he puts those chapters on the tests anyways. EVEN IF HE SAYS HE WON'T. A large majority of our class got C's or worse because of his clumsy test writing. Also, the book he assigns is written by his friend and is extremely bland and plagued with grammatical errors.

He is the best Professor at Pepperdine. He is very clear in his lectures and expectations. If you study you will get an "A" but you need to put in the work. I would recommend him to anyone who is not lazy. He is a engaging and extremely intelligent. My personal favorite in the Business Program. I learned the most from this professor.

Wouldn't take again

His lectures are mostly unrelated to the exam questions. Overall, not a good teacher in explaining the concept well. In order to get an A, you have to read the textbook diligently, practice the homework, and study. My grade given had been weighed on the midterm and the final which there was no cushion. Take the class at your own discretion.
