This class was terrible. She moved so fast. Could not keep up with material, must teach yourself. She reads right from slides and is very unclear. Tests are unbelievably hard, too much material covered and there is not enough time to take them. I would do my best not to take this class.

HUGE ****... covers way to much material in an introductory course to accounting. Has a great deal of knowledge but that means jack squat if you cant teach and this woman just is useless if you take her laptop away from her. Shows up for an 8am class at about 8:03 and then takes 10 minutes or so to get her computer started...awful teacher

The entire class is online, so why not make this an online class? I can not believe BSC lets this teacher use online as an excuse of teaching. This is what we pay her for?? To sit on her @$$ and let the computer do the work for her! Ridiculous.. I would love to sit and have a chat with the dean about this. What a waste of my money.

She is a rude and uncaring teacher. If a student is having trouble and asks for help, she dosent care. Her class was all online but not posted as an online class. Horrible teacher!!!

She does not know how to teach a class. She obviously knows what she's talking about, but can not understand why her students don't. She is not helpful. WAY too much material for a 101 course and not enough being taught in class. If you want to lower your GPA take her. Does not care if the average grade in her class is a D. DON'T TAKE HER!

Over whelming, be prepared to teach yourself everything from scratch. Problems take forever, more work in this class than my other 4 combined for this semester.

SHe is the worse teacher I have ever had. Don't take this class unless you are prepared to teach yourself or you have a background in accounting. She only reads from the book or from a powerpoint on the chapter. This class was so boring and just sucked. Almost all assignments are on blackboard. If you don't do well she will just tell you you suck

she's not here this fall so anything you notice she has taught, take now. You'll pay 250$ for the book to get access to 10 different sites you'll fumble around with. you only have two huge test that have almost nothing to do with anything you waste your time with. she's Terrible. I did 2 classes I had with other professors and got an A in both

Don't bother asking for help with this lady, she won't help you. Even for an online class where you are essentially teaching yourself, you are on your own.

Not good with explaining things. Tends to mumble off. Uses MyFinance lab and if you are off by a decimal point it will mark you wrong. Takes attendence for a few weeks and then stopped after spring break. HOPING to get a D-....

Had this as a hybrid class, only attending for midterm and final exams which where huge and horrible. The subject is hard, she gives a lot of homework that takes hours to complete and is graded as well as weekly quizzes and discussions. Overall a horrible course and an even worse professor. DO NOT TAKE HER!!! I dont even know how I got a C.

So here's the deal-I don't mind a difficult teacher. I actually enjoyed Sevigny and Silverman's class. This class has a lot of potential to be interesting, but the professor ruins it. It is as if she doesn't want to be there and has no enthusiasm for the subject. If you ask a question - get ready toffee l stupid. She is very smart, but steer clear.

WORST! Minimalist professor@BSU. Make sure to stay above 95's on all MFL assgnmts cause you'll probably fail the tough&impossible midterm & final. Her attitude is blunt & she does not care for student progress. Will threaten to fail you if you miss any worktests. She's absolutely horrible. She needs a personality & career check!! Stay away!!!!

I took her hybrid class which only met for the midterm and the final. The subject was easy to understand. The homework and quizzed helped you study. The only problem is that she never gives you enough time to finish the 2 tests. Also, she is very disrespectful to students. Always has an attitude and never responds to emails regarding your grades.

Worst professor ever! the assignments took a lot of time and both midterm and final was a waste of time! She would give you 2 hrs but the work itself takes more than 2 hours! Also be prepared to fill out everything or else it is a 0. Be prepared to study for days. She is disrespectful to students and if you are working, she would tell you to quit!

This is my first posting on rate my professor. Beware of Dr. Shannon Donovan at Bridgewater State University! She is bar none, the crudest, most volatile human being I have ever encountered during my entire educational process! She will snap at you if you ask a question and will not respond to emails. She moves quick and is always in a bad mood!

if you ask a question she looks at you like your stupid - she might even laugh as well. you'll have to teach yourself a lot on my math lab. lectures are long and dry.

Hands down the worst teacher I've ever had. She's rude to students, she tries to make you feel stupid, and she provides no help whatsoever. You'll never finish her tests and you should prepare yourself to sit down for hours at a time to complete the homework (I'm talking like 6-8 hours). Don't bother with extra help because she won't help you.

AVOID this "teacher" at all costs - she really should not even be employed with such a good school. Does not grade things, unclear on due dates (yes, you will be marked late if you get it in the date it is due, because she is not clear). No teaching done, all online thru pearson lab - tests are a joke. Ruined my 4.0 because of HER errors.

I had to withdraw because she goes so fast and doesn't answer any questions. She's the type of professor that really knows her stuff but doesn't understand that she's teaching students, not people who have phds in finance. If you ask her a question, she'll talk to you like you're stupid. Also makes you write a TEN PAGE paper for a FINANCE elective!

Zero soft skills. She is rude and contradicts herself with each of her (unnecessarily often) emails. I took her online class and gave her the benefit of the doubt as tone can be lost online. After a visit to her office for some extra help I realized that I was mistaken . She should consider a career that doesn't include human interaction

Disgustingly rude/unprofessional in her communication (via email) towards her students. She doesn't seem to value her students at all. Should have stayed away from taking this course when I read her reviews. Poor grammar and a multitude of typos in every post online will have you very confused. You'd think she'd be nicer ever since COVID-19. YIKES.

This professor is very disrespectful in the way she treats her students. She ALWAYS stresses out the importance of asking questions, but when you do she looks at you in a condescending way and makes you feel like you are the stupidest student she' s ever met. The worst of all is that there is NO ONE else who teaches the same classes, so good luck.

Professor Donavon was easily the worst Professor I have ever had at BSU. She is flat out rude to all of her students, and doesnt seem to care about them at all. Even despite a pandemic she showed no sympathy to any of her students. Her grading was tough and her rubrics were impossible to decipher through the spelling mistakes and errors. AVOID!

If I could say what I really want to say about this professor, I would get banned. But this is the most insensitive, disrespectful, rude professor I have ever had. Super rude, no consideration for students personal lives especially during covid. Doesnt even really teach, you just pay $90 (not even counting the other fees with taking the course) to teach yourself on pearson revel. Not worth it.

I dont even understand how Bridgewater keeps her on the payroll. Im paying thousands of dollars for this wack job to publish documents from past semester. NEVER

Wicked rude and bad at explaining projects

Brutal class, do not take with this Professor especially if online. Gives an absurd amount of homework on Pearson, and if you get one small thing wrong you have to restart to get a whole new problem if you want full credit on that question. Not very helpful, if you email her she gets mad and says to put your question on blackboard. Terrible class.

None of your grades will be in until the final happens. If you ask a question she will reply with "how did you even pass the class before this". Does not care for any student and makes everything a competition. By all means do not try to email her because you will get nothing anywhere near professional. TBH have no idea how she still has a job.

Just don't even bother with her

The presser expects 40+ hours a week for the class which is obviously not realistic. she criticizes everything no matter what it is and is not afraid at all to criticize your work even when it is good. A friend of mine also took this class and i dont believe he ever said anything good and the work was beyond tedious and repetitive.

Probably one of the laziest professors at BSU. Creates none of her course content, and only utilizes a $90 access code (Pearson/Revel). Sent out an email to students the second week of the semester basically telling us to stop emailing her with questions (her claim was that we were asking questions answered on the syllabus apparently). If it were possible to give a professor a zero, I would. She does not teach. Ruthless grader, doesn't care about her students success whatsoever, and her behavior makes that VERY evident. It's almost like she's getting paid to find excuses to give you a D and make you miserable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Tried to have a conversation and I was cut off trying to explain circumstances and was shamed when I was venerable. The class material is literally ran through a book online so she doesn't have to grade it so late penalties don't make sense. If the work is done the work is done.

If you have any will live, don't take her class. She doesn't care about her students success and if you ask a question, be ready to feel stupid after asking about it. Her directions aren't clear on anything and all she does is give connect assignments with little to no explanation. It's disgusting how little she cares about her students.

Do not take any class with this professor. She failed me for her class, undeserving. I took the online managerial finance, the grade on pearson was an 82%. I missed 2 assignments. She posted only 2 grades to blackboard which gave me the F. Was no help the entire semester. Do not take a class with her.

Arguably the most difficult professor to deal with at Bridgewater State. Very very heavy on the material in this course and she does not explain her content very well. Lets not forget how she treats her students either. And her lousy email replies that take a week to hear a response from.

Had her for a hybrid Capital Budgeting Class. Doesn't allow you to email her. Has a group project and an individual project due a week apart and expects to all be done on time. Hardly teaches (basically teach yourself) and expects students to understand the material right away. Individual project makes no sense with no direction.

The absolute worst Professor you can have at BSU. Doesn't care for her students well being, assigns an absurd amount of work that is all due within 2 weeks of each other, and does not respond to emails. She gives group projects that she doesn't explain at all, so be prepared to learn in this class on your own.

I absolutely loathe this professor, I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect. As students, we are held to such a high standard (rightfully so) but when it comes to professors the same rules don't apply. Professor Donovan needs to be reevaluated and held to this same standard. Very very disappointed in BSU.

Worst professor in the department. It is a hybrid class which is not a good format for a 400-level class. It should be in person due to the high level of difficulty. On top of its hybrid format, most of the in-person lectures are already canceled because of her other work. An absurd amount of work is given to the students.

Avoid this class if you can - the professor is notoriously difficult and unengaged. The workload is absurd, and you'll pretty much be teaching yourself the material. Unstuck study could be a lifesaver for exam prep, but attending class is still a must.

Let me make this clear: HEAVY, HEAVY workload. She really does not care about students. If you email her, 99% of the time she will tell you to refer to the syllabus. You will basically teach yourself everything, and everything in her classes are her way or the highway. Do not take her if you don't have to. Ridiculous amounts of homework as well.

I would not recommend this professor, you will be teaching everything yourself, if you are struggling with something or cannot submit something the exact way she wants she will talk down to you. Has no professionalism, and does not provide much help at all.

If you want an awful teacher look no further, she will take weeks to respond to emails just to be rude when she does. She is not willing to help any students who are struggling and seems to make this course as hard as she possibly can.

Honestly she was rude in all her replies. tough grader, hard assignments and so so much work compared to other classes. wouldn't take again.
