Shes a very good professor, although a bit tough. She gives you pop quizzes on the text book so READ the book! Provides power points in class but will not put them on tracs.
She is fun and her sense of humor makes the lectures enjoyable. There is one short paper and 4 multiple quiz tests, which are dead on with the fill-in-the blank review she gives out. Just show up to class, read the book, do the reviews, and there is no way you couldn't pass with flying colors. If you have to take intro to art, take her class!!
She's pretty cool, just show up to class every time and do the test reviews and you will be fine. Easy A by the way
I loved her lectures. She was very interesting and very excited about art. I learned so much in the class. An easy A. She kind of has a funky attitude sometimes but her knowledge of the arts makes up for it.
Faseler is extremely knowledgable about the art she teaches about. She has interesting sense of humor and is entertaining for the most part. I found her to be slightly disorganized however and not very nice. Make sure to always go to class and do your reviews and you'll do fine.
Not the nicest of teachers but the way she teaches is very easy to understand and interesting. Her tests are exactly like the review so just show up to class and do your reviews and youre golden.
She is pretty rude and not very understanding, but the reviews and test are exactly alike, which is nice.
I would highly recommend taking her. She made class really fun, and she made it interesting too. She will make you laugh, and you'll actually find yourself wanting to go to class. I wasn't interested in art before, but now I feel like I have a whole new perspective. Do the reviews she gives you, and you'll do really well on the tests.
Her personality comes out really strong. DO NOT get on your phone, sleep, talk, move, breath because her TA sits through the whole class watching you like a hawk and writing your name down for lack of participation or whatever. Reviews are exactly like the tests, LONG but identical. And she says pop quizzes, but I haven't had one all semester...
She's pretty cool, the class is really easy if you do the reviews because they are EXACTLY like the tests. Do watch out for the TA because he'll be watching you. I'm glad I took her class because I hear other Intro to Fine Arts professors are much harder.
Her class is easy. I would have gotten an A if I knew before the first test that the tests are WORD FOR WORD the review and actually done it. she warns you multiple classes before the two "pop" quizzes you have to take and besides that you just have to take the tests and go to her lectures. You can't text or sleep but besides that its an easy A.
Awesome class, very knowledgeable professor, she really knows what she's talking about. I actually enjoyed this class, she made art very interesting! DO THE REVIEWS AND MEMORIZE THEM! They are EXACTLY like the tests! Didn't buy the book, it was on reserve at the library. GO TO CLASS! Honestly if you don't get an A in this class you're just lazy.
Faseler is AWESOME. She is super engaging with her lectures and cracks jokes here and there enough for you to be interested the whole time. The tests are easy if you do the review. The review is word for word the test. Also, the review is all from the book, so I would say the book is essential for passing.
Half way through the semester and 500pg through the textbook (tl;dr) we get a pop quiz for 5points on our total grade with only one question. Seriously, dude? DO THE REVIEWS. Got a 93 on the first exam after an hour of cramming and paying little to no attention during the lectures.
Go to class EVERYDAY for the full participation credit. Test are word for word per review You may have to study the art forms a little more though. Pop quiz is probably what kills most from making an A, read the book if you care for those things
The worst professor ever at ACC, never take her. Her 2 pop quizzes worth 10% of your grade. So if you need an A in this class take another prof. She will do what ever she can to give you B instead. I had aced all my tests and paper, but I ended with B+ because of her pop quizzes.
She's very helpful but honestly all you have to do is memorize the review because it's literally the test. There are many Quizlets up but some of the answers aren't correct so be warned. Take the class, it's not as hard as she makes it out to be. Easy A if you have a good memory and can memorize 100+ questions.
Faseler was an amazing professor. I love the way she lectures and how she goes into great detail. You can tell she is an expert in fine arts and I loved how she would tell us the backgrounds of famous artists as if she were telling a story. Tests are exactly like the reviews but she will throw in questions about artworks shown in class.
This class was challenging due to the immense amount of information given to you. There are not that many tests so it's crucial to due well. The reviews look exactly like the test but are extremely long. There is a pop quiz and an essay that also go towards your grade. She encourages class participation and is passionate about the subject.
I would've gotten an A, but missed one too many classes periods and the pop quiz. The tests are more of a memorization game, but the reviews are helpful in learning the material that you may not have digested during the lectures.
Don't taker her if you have a hard time concentrating. Worst teacher by far. Her lectures are long and she gives only few tests, so it's important to do good on those tests of you want at least a B.
Decent professor love her passion for art, she's also pretty funny. I am currently taking it at 8am and it's very tough for me to stay awake. she doesn't give many tests only 3 exams, a pop quiz, attendance grade, group grade, and an essay overall it will 100 points. no extra credit, and attendance IS mandatory.
This class can be easy and also challenging. I would say for a class that everyone is required to take its hard! You do need your textbook and the reviews are very long! But if you study them you will 100% get a B on your test! Lectures are as interesting as they can be! Class is not ridiculously hard but is not easy!
Her lectures are nice if you like art. Must take notes in her class and read the book because she takes all her answers from the book and during class, shows you pictures that you must know by name for the answer. The quizlets online for her class ARE WRONG. LOOK FOR THE ANSWERS YOURSELF!!
Faseler really peaked my interest in art for the very first time. She mixes humor with history to keep us interested throughout the lecture. There is one pop quiz she gives over the reading, but we didn't take it until the end of the semester. The critique we had to write in her class was easier than what the other classes had to do.
I hate the class but I like the teacher! She knows so much about art and just wanted to share her knowledge with students! However, my interest in the class never peaked and it was always dreadful going because it was an 8am, I would fall asleep during her lectures. Tests are exactly like the review the only hard part is knowing the paintings.
Intro 2313 You have to pay attention but she makes the subject as interesting as possible. She is very engaging and you'll learn a lot. You can tell she has passion for art and teaching it to students. Would recommend for someone who doesn't especially love art.
I enjoy her lectures. She is nice and easy to talk to. The only thing I hatred was she gives too much power to her TAs. They will make you miserable messing up your attendance. The teacher will curve or give extra credit based on your attendance in class. The TAs will mark you absent for showing up 5 minutes late to class.
Her test are exactly like her review, so study the review. What I didn't like was that she postes her reviews 2 days before the exam and now you have to memorize 160 people and definitions in one night. If you are good at memorizing you will most likely pass with A+.
AMAZING lectures. She makes art just that more interesting. I actually wanted to get up and make it to her 8 AM class. Although the critical reviews were a pain, unfortunately every intro to art class is required to do these. Overall, she is an amazing teacher and I would recommend to anyone.
Good teacher, but gives WAY TOO MUCH POWER TO HER TA. He will mark you absent if you show up 5 minutes late, or if you're on your laptop because "you're not paying attention." Test is literally the review, she makes it interesting and is a nice person, but the class is hard to focus on if you don't find art interesting.
TA has too much power. Will count you absent if they see you on your phone or sleeping. Professor Faster gives good lectures, but I personally don't like her one on one. Tests are exactly like study guides, and they're fill in the blank. Honestly, just do other work during lecture if you need to and study the study guides and you'll get an easy A/B
She claims she's "approachable", but she's very rude to students whenever they they try to speak w her. Would rather you speak to TA only. She had 1 pop quiz randomly. Doesn't allow you to take quiz if you're more than 1 minute late.. that goes for assignments and exams as well, no excuses even if 100% valid. Excused absence only through provost.
This class was okay. The class consists of 3 critical reviews, (which are fine, but very easy to forget about) 3 exams, one group class assignment, one quiz (toward the end of the semester), and attendance points (Don't miss more than 3 classes). Lectures were fine but difficult to pay attention. Take this class if you want to get it done with.
as someone who took this class because it's mandatory i was amazed how much i really enjoyed this class! Faseler is an amazing lecturer and makes class extremely interesting and fun! highly recommend this prof!!!! if you put in effort you'll easily make a good grade.
Dr. Faseler is an okay professor. She's approachable and seems nice. She goes a little fast through her lectures though. She makes you do 3 critical reviews of performances and galleries; follow the directions, and you'll do fine. Also, don't skip class, or you'll miss a lot of info. Read the textbook, and the exams you can get off of Quizlet.
3 critical reviews, 3 tests, easy group assignment in class, MC pop quiz, & attendance/participation. 3 free absences. I missed 3 classes & spoke a few times & got the full credit for attendance. BE ON TIME. All tests are identical to the review & on Quizlet - be wary of a few wrong answers. She's hilarious, I was always excited for her class.
There are 3 critiques that are pretty easy, 3 tests that are word for word from the review. The review answers can be found on quizlet. This is a super easy class and the teacher is entertaining. Don't get on your phone or you will be counted absent.
3 critical reviews 3 exams class is mandatory if you recieve so many tardies you're counted absent if you leave early absent if you fall asleep absent if you're on your phone absent TA is just quick to mark you absent textbook is unnecessary notes is unnecessary review is exactly like the exam it's about 150 questions but the answers on quizlet.
Do not skip, fall asleep, or get on your phone in this class attendance is mandatory a they will count you absent if you are doing something besides listening. Notes really aren't needed, but they help keep you awake if you aren't interested in art. She gives reviews before the tests that are EXACTLY like the test and the answers are on Quizlet.
VERY RUDE!!! Gives 1 pop quiz randomly during the semester and says it's easy if you go and take notes. It was over material we had learned once like a week or two ago.. Her tests are exactly like the review but NOTHING like what you learn in the class! I got a 4.0 last semester and will be receiving my first B in a class that should be an easy A
She's an awesome professor, she had amazing lectures but only has like 7 grades with no extra credit. She tests were exactly like the review but they were super long. She teaches straight out of the book, I only used the book for the critical reviews. I would take her class again because she is awesome! She counts you absent if youre on your phone
She's an amazing lecturer, she takes a boring subject and make it interesting. Pay attention in class, there will be 3 tests, 3 critical reviews, 1 group project and 1 pop quiz. What is on the test review is EXACTLY whats on the test. Show up, don't be late, don't be on your phone, and you'll do well.
Absolutely loved her class. One of the best professors at ACC! Tests are the exact same thing as the review, attendance is part of your grade, 1 group project, and 1 bibliography.
For a required basic course, the amount of effort expected was more than I would have liked. I felt like I was in an art history course, not intro to fine arts. There are 3 pop quizzes. You're only allowed 3 unexcused absences. I will say that all the answers to study guides are on quizlet, and if you memorize the study guide you'll be fine.
If you are not taking notes the entire class then you are counted absent. Tests are over 100 questions long & Make sure to read before every class. If you read and study then its easy
Ridiculous class. Easy material to understand, yet she lectures about topics interesting to her, not pertinent to the tests. The tests are easy and exactly the same as the review. The problem is that you're required to be in class AND taking notes, not on your phone or doing something else, or you'll be counted absent, and potentially fail.
Only three tests and they are LONG. Over 100 questions each. She gives a review but they are twice as long as the tests and its fill in the blank and the test are multiple choice. The tests dont match up from lectures. I never thought I would struggle so much in an art class. Half the class was gone after the first test.
There are 2 tests, one pop quiz, reviews over art performances, and one final. The tests are taken out of reviews so study the review tentatively. Don't take for 8am, hard to stay awake. Go to the performances and fill out review. She will tell you when there is a pop quiz. Go to class, she will bump up a 79, 89, 99 if you missed no more than 3.
I actually dreaded taking this class at the beginning of the semester, but Professor Faseler changed that. I learned a lot and enjoyed coming to this class. It is lecture heavy so if you don't attend then I might consider a different professor. She does use the textbook so make sure you have it. The tests aren't too bad as long as you study.
Faseler's class was way too difficult for an introduction class. Her tests were extremely long and out of context to what we learned in class. She would go over the topic one time in class but would test you on it heavily. She has minimal grades in the grade book so if you fail one test you fail the class. The review sessions were not helpful.
I liked this class because she made it interesting and funny. The test questions come from the reviews, but the review has at least 200 questions and the tests usually had at least 100. You basically just need to memorize the review and you'll be okay.
Her tests are the review, so if you memorize the review you'll be fine. However, her reviews are 200 questions and like 30 images. I feel like some of her grading is just pulled out of the air (the group work). Pop quiz at the end of the semester. If you sleep or on your phone and the TA catches you, you get counted absent.
Lectures were boring and tests were super long. The TA sucked. She didn't help at all. Everything just sucked. And you don't need the book. The tests are all on quizlet.
She is a really good lecturer, but honestly kind of a mean person in general. I tried to talk to her at the beginning of the semester and she waved me away. She is SUPER strict and the TA is absolutely terrible. She purposely tries to make the class feel stupid and even though Im making an A, I have considered dropping.
Don't understand why people say they don't like Faseler. I came into class thinking she was going to be mean according to these reviews, but she's actually funny and cool during class. Her lectures are actually interesting. Her exams are long but her review literally has the questions and answers for it. Shouldn't fail this class
I didnt think I would like this class because I dont really like art, but she made it interesting. However, shes sort of rude. The reviews are just like the test but there are like 200 questions on the review so if you have a bad memory, I dont recommend. Theres a pop quiz at the end of the semester so pay attention! The critiques are super easy.
I never took notes or really listened during her lectures. She gives you a review that is identical to the test so just study that really good. The only other grade is a group assignment so go to that class and a pop quiz. Attendance is apart of your grade and its what kept me from making an A. You cant miss more than 3 classes.
I'm a senior in accounting just taking this class for the credit but I have to say that this might be my favorite class this semester! The professor is so knowledgeable, her lectures are more like listening to an awesome Ted talk every morning. Genuinely look forward to this class. Don't get people saying that she's rude - she just knows her stuff.
Her lectures are somewhat interesting but get boring if you don't like the subject. The TA sits at her desk watching the class the entire time and every time you are on your phone or fall asleep you get marked and that goes against participation points. The whole class is just lecture so don't take this class if you can't sit through that.
Honestly, this was the worst class that I have taken at this university. The lectures are boring, the reviews for the exams are unreasonably long along with the actual exams, and this is only a general course class! I would not recommend this teacher by any means.
She really knows what she's talking about and truly cares about art. The lectures can sometimes get boring, but it's art what do you expect?? The TA stared at the class the whole time and marks you down for the littlest things. Overall, pretty good!
The professor was good it's just a hard class, but also I hate history so there's that.
At first Mrs. Faseler may seem like a mean teacher, but then you realize that she knows so much about art history so her lectures are very interesting. There is never much homework, but do it when it is assigned. Study her test reviews because they are exactly like the tests.
Faseler was an ok professor, she is understanding and her lectures were pretty good. She has a way of keeping your attention (on your good days) because she is so entertaining with how she presents material. I will say that her class is way too extra for a required class. She just expects a lot from us and its annoying because its just art
Faseler is a great prof. Easy class. The only thing is I had a 9:30 am class and she turns off the light and uses powerpoint so I got really sleepy. She does not do extra credit at all. She is a really good storyteller and makes it interesting. I never use the book except to fill in the blank study guide. The study guide is the test, memorize it!
I did not like this professor. She does her job decent but shes a rather rude person. the class itself is easy, but she is not a professor I would want to take again.
boring long lectures, had trouble staying awake in her class. the fact that she dimmed the lights did not help. however, tests are exactly like the review. you are required to attend 3 art performances throughout the semester and write a review about them which is pretty easy. Got a B, but could've earned an A if I had really tried haha.
Interesting to listen to her lectures, she really knows what she is talking about. Reviews are 200+ questions and exams are about 100. Textbook pretty important just for the reviews as you can find the answers from the textbook. My advice is to go to every lecture and take really good notes, especially because the powerpoints are not uploaded.
1. reviews are 150-200 questions long (they are almost exactly like the test) 2. tests are around 100 questions long 3. her TA looks around for people on their phone and makes a mark on your name 4. assigned seating, dont miss class 5. dont miss class, very lecture heavy but TBH they have nothing to do with the test 6. pop quiz end of year
She's a solid choice for getting your fine art credit. I had her 8am and most people slept, she was understanding of that and mainly just spoke to those awake. The lectures are pretty interesting and the content is easy to understand. The tests are just like the review and the little projects are easy.
If you show up to class and do your work, you will easily get an A. Just do NOT use your phone in class, you will get docked points. The critical reviews are annoying but easy to write, and the tests are the review. Don't blow the class off and you'll be fine. Lectures are actually interesting imo, at least most days.
Her classes are very lecture and slide heavy, she loves her stuff. Gives out a test review a week before, go to the test review group. Same questions on the review are on the test. Review the review and you can make an easy A. You have to attend 3 art functions, easy. One pop quiz & same day in class group project.
She is an amazing professor that I came to after failing the first test, she reviewed my test and notes with me after hours and gave me feedback on how to study better for future tests. Perfect professor just very hard material.
She has an abrasive attitude and way of speaking. Seems as though she sets her students up to fail. Attendance counts heavily towards your grade and she is a ruthless grader. Tests are extremely lengthy and detailed and you need to memorize facts more than comprehend information. I am an artist and love art history but hate this course.
3 easy assignments & 3 exams. If you are good at memorizing 250 terms, then this is the class for you. Super easy because exams are exactly like the review. Faseler is funny but doesnt mess around. She really knows her stuff. I would recommend this class because all you have to do is memorize & youll pass.
Attendance is mandatory and will knock you down a letter grade if you don't come. Test material is chosen directly off of the review, so If you study you will do great. Gives one pop quiz at some point in the year that's worth 7 points of your final grade. Overall a interesting, funny, and worth showing up for.
Fasler is a great professor if you show up to class and show some effort. She does not have office hours unless you email her ahead of time, but she makes her expectations fairly clear in the beginning. You have 3 Critical Reviews over the semester and one pop quiz. She is incredibly passionate about the topic but makes you work for your grade.
Her lectures were amazing I loved them. She would give out a review to follow & every question on the test would come from the review BUT the reviews are SO hard. Its almost impossible to find some of the answers in the book & at times I got answers I FOUND IN THE BOOK wrong & I couldntpay attention when her TA would try to bust ppl on their phone
a very knowledgeable professor, but her TA takes over everything. Hard grader and I put more effort into this class then my science classes.. asks too much for it being an art class.
Deeply disappointed in the quality of professor Faseler's tests. The tests and test reviews are very long, especially for an Art Intro course. Test questions are incredibly ambiguous and all to frequently grammatically incorrect. Despite quality lectures and her claims that the tests are easy, they are not. This is an unnecessarily difficult class.
Awful teacher. She is a lecture heavy, her TA's are like her minions they just sit the whole class spying on you, and if you do anything than listen to the boring long lecture you get points deducted from your overall grade. Her tests have nothing to do with her study guides and lectures. Do yourself a favor and do not take her.
I would not recommend, none of my peers liked her as a professor either. Lectures were very daunting I preferred to look up the info myself.
Theres no final for this course and no tests only quizzes that you take after every week. Super easy class but didnt learn anything. Quizzes can be a little difficult and theyre timed, 25 questions in 25 minutes. Critical reviews were super easy w this professor. She was nice.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The lectures are on YouTube and sometimes were up to over 2 1/2 hours long! Quizzes every week that are 25 questions in 25 min and very hard! The study guides don't help. TON OF READING from textbook! I spent more time trying to study for this class than classes related to my major! Her TA's are rude btw.
Every professor has a different preferred format of being emailed, but she came off as extremely rude the first weeks starting off with "it's very clear to me that some of you don't know how to email your professors". She also has tough quizzes given about every other week so you NEED to read the textbook AND attend lectures. TAs will reply not her
I took this class online due to COVID. I feel like I would have enjoyed this class more in person. Since it was inline, there were videos we had to watch recorded lectures to help with quizzes. There were 17 quizzes and 3 critiques over the course of the semester. For the critiques there are a lot of requirements to submit the correct format ,etc.
Take in the summer. You prefer it, she prefers it (maybe?). Either way, lots of fun. Super knowledgeable. Approachable. Tons of good material and Im not an art person. Wish I could take more classes from her.
Tests are usually about 50% from lecture and 50% from book so it's important to actually put in the work but you'll do very well as long as you do.
Great professors! Lectures were really interesting and assignments are really easy!
pretty easy class, only a few assignments and 4 exams. attendance is mandatory, and her lectures can get a bit boring but they're alright.
As long as you don't take her 8AM, you will really enjoy this class. Mrs. Faseler was a really funny professor and made it not AS hard to wake up in the early morning. The assignments aren't many, but they take a lot of work and if you put effort into it you'll pass. Make sure that you take good notes as her tests are very lecture based at the end.
Professor Faseler is strict, but she is good at teaching things. I took this class as a non-art major, yet she made this course relatable and easy to understand for people like me. However, this class is NOT an easy A. Prepare to do a lot of reading in the textbook and studying because if you want an A, then you really have to work for it.
I LOVED THIS COURSE AND THE PROFESSOR! If you take notes and put effort into your assignments, you can pass this course with flying colors. The professor is very engaging and makes you want to learn more about art history. The TAs are very helping and always answered any questions I had.
I loved her class. the lectures were interesting and she is very passionate. we has 3-4 exams including the final we were able to use notes and the book on it. we also had a few assignments in between but they were so easy. if you show up to class every day and participate she will round your final grade up if you are close to an A.
Professor Faseler definitely made a credit I was not looking forward to a lot more bearable. Her lectures were laid back and entertaining. Her humor is dry which may not be to everyone's taste but I liked it. The group projects and the performances were scary at first but she does a great job of easing the tension and making the room feel welcome
Professor Faseler was a really great teacher, and her class was usually pretty interesting. If you want an A, be prepared to put in the work though. There are 4 exams that have 73ish questions and you have to read the textbook if you want a good grade.
Love the profesor and her personality but failing as an upper level deans list biochemist, I can tell when a class should be avoided. Her test are 200-270 questions long and I retook this class and had online exams and made an A. If you want to make a C, let alone pass, wait for another professor.
I took this class completely online. Every week we basically watch lecture videos and then do a quiz that was based on the lectures. There are 3 critical reviews where you watch a performance and answer questions. The textbook she requires but you don't need it. In the group, you can ask for pics of the textbook when you need them for the reviews.
As a Catholic, who took a Catholic version of this class before at a previous school (we covered most of the same paintings), she was not interpreting a lot of the Catholic paintings, as Catholics have interpreted them. She talks about Catholicism like it is as dead and Greek mythology, which is stupid, because millions are still Catholic today.
Great instructor! Very cool and nice and teaches the class well! I will say be prepared to take thorough notes, as some things mentioned in lecture are not in the book, but I love that she supplements the textbook with her own knowledge.
Professor Faseler was absolutely my favorite professor this semester. Her grading and expectations were very clear, and she was very generous when grading. I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures about art history.
I loved this course. Lectures are pretty interesting. The only grades are 4 exams (online) and a couple of reviews plus attendance. Attendance is 10% of your grade though and she starts taking away points your first absence and on. It's pretty relaxed and doesn't require much brain power/studying you just have to show up.
Only allowed 2 absences before your grade drops and its impossible to get an excused absence. She counts you absent if you are on your phone/computer during class and her assistants watch like a hawk and act like its not a core class we are forced to take. Could be throwing your guts up and you still have to show up. Pls take anyone else
Dr.Faseler did a very good job at teaching Intro to Fine Arts in a way that was entertaining and memorable. Attendance is mandatory, but you also really shouldn't skip lectures, cause the online resources for notes are slim. If you show up and pay attention, it's a really engaging course, and Dr.Faseler clearly cares about the subject matter a lot.
In this class, you learn about the 4 categories of art (visual, performance, music, and dance) the lectures are super interesting. The class is made up of 3 group projects based on each category (music and dance are combined) and then 3 critiques on each category. All the projects and the critiques aren't hard, if you like art you'll like it.
She bases grades on 4 tests with critical reviews that together aren't worth one test. There are no notes that applies to exams so it is essential that you attend the lectures and give 100% all the time. She does not allow electronics so it's all physical notes. And she does NOT give extra credit. Don't take her class if you aren't an art student.
Great lectures! Does her best to keep them entertaining. Tests are over things she says in lecture so you really have to pay attention but you can still google a good amount of questions. I surprisingly found it interesting and she was very funny which kept me engaged.
Faseler isnt for everyone, if you were in marching band or color guard you will see some director likeness. She is very blunt and straightforward, which I find admiring. Lectures are sometimes not detailed enough/don't match the exam, so DO THE STUDY GUIDE IN CANVAS FOR THE EXAMS (There are only 3 exams for the entire semester, 75 questions ea.)
If you want an easy A, take this class! All you really have to do is attend lectures, which are not boring. She requires you to physically write out the notes unless you have an ODS accommodation. The tests are all online and you are allowed to use notes, the exam guide, and whatever else. She is funny and very straight forward.
DON"T TAKE THIS CLASS. No reason I should be taking this class because I am a nursing major. the professor and the TAs are not helpful. She does not interact with her students. AGAIN DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS
This class is super lecture heavy and honestly just information overload. You are not allowed any electronics in her class, no laptops for note-taking. I do not like this because she does not even give enough time to actually write what she is saying down. Then to make it harder, the exams are purely taken from things she says, not the powerpoints.
I dont know anything about art but she explained everything so well and was very interesting for me. The class is easy as long as you go and the exams are kinda tough but they are also online. Loved her and would take again.
Attendance it required and no phones or laptops allowed. She makes lectures interesting and easy to remember for the canvas exams.
Professor Faseler is incredible! Her lectures are engaging and really fun! Devices are not allowed though, unless you have accomodations. If you are on your device, you'll be counted absent. But, overall I loved her class. She is also very funny!
Professor Faseler makes the material engaging, but you'll need to put in the work. Attendance is mandatory and strictly enforced. With some effort, you can do well - unstuck study and the textbook are helpful study tools. Worth taking if you're interested in art history.
Super nice professor and pretty easy class if you just pay attention. Exams are open note so make sure you take good notes and she posts the slides on canvas after her lecture. Attendance is strictly enforced and you will get points taken off your overall grade if you choose to miss a lot. Also no electronics or you get counted absent.
Easy class, but only if you attend class every week. She is a nice professor and engages with students. Only 4 (online) exams throughout the semester, and they are 75 questions, but not difficult if you take notes.
Very entertaining and passionate about art! Just attend lectures and you'll pass. Never really gives out extra work.
I would definitely recommend Shannon, but only if you're willing to show up to every class. Her grading is out of 100 points exactly, so the tests are about 15% of your grade. 4 total tests, and then attendance and two assignments make up your grade, no extra credit. She is very passionate and good humor, so class isn't unbearable, just take notes.
I only took her intro to fine arts class but she's so amazing and I was actually happy to get up for my 9:30 am as a night owl. I adore this teacher and she made everything so interesting. I never had any desire to travel anywhere, but now it's all I want to do in the future to see everything we talked about in this class. I hope I have her again.
I love her! I thought she was really funny and lecture was very interesting. This was one of my favorite classes and made me want to take more art history courses. Tests are all open note and online so you know... Very easy and engaging class, I recommend.
Was an informational yet exhausting class. She favors certain students and doesn't have sympathy for those who need help and guidance throughout the class course. Workload is decent, but I would rather have a professor who shows just as much passion for their students as they do in their job.
Very nice woman. She is so sarcastic, but in the best way possible. This class is terribly boring and uninteresting (to me at least), but shes a great professor and its not her fault! Tests are online & NOT proctored. There are a few tests and like 2 other assignments you do throughout the year. Attendance IS mandatory so just show up (its graded)
i've never felt like my time was wasted more then when i took this course. gouging my eyes out is in my future because of this. if watching 2+ hours of lecture about paintings you don't care about is something your into, take this class and proff. you take quizzes almost every week, 2 discussion post, and one review. good luck if you're signed up.
such a boring class. she has no mercy if you forget one assignment, it will tank your grade.
