She is obviously brilliant; she figured out how to get a Masters Degree in something she knows nothing about!

This woman is horrid. She was my first impression of Shoreline as a new student. She was so mean to me and was about the most impossible teacher I've ever had to deal with. I have no idea why someone who spends their time making no sense and humilating her students would ever want to be a teacher. Don't take her class. She's rediculous.

OMFG! What a crazy ****. Worse math class yet. I droped this**** ASAP!. I'm totally serious. I just did NOT get along with her at all. I think that she had some personal issue with me or somthing, but I didn't even do anything wrong. Whenever I talked to my friend right accross from me--even if it was math related, she woudl basically snap at me and in a sense--tell me to shut up. I won't tollerate that from a teacher--esspecially if I'm asking a fellow student a question that portrays to the class.

She is a ****. Watch out for her. She's very strict when it comes to grading, she'll yell at you if you ask the person next to you for anything (like a pencil). Very scatterbrained, and rushes through everything. Makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Deffinately should not be working as a teacher

The worst math teacher I ever had. Don't ever take her for one of your courses. She doesn't explain anything, grades in an abnormal way, is irresponsible, and makes you feel stupid. If you have her as a teacher don't ever talk! She'll punish you!

Do not, I repeat, do not have this wierd psycho for any of your math classes! Your grade will go down and she is horrible at teaching! She does not know jack****!

Shannon is 1 of the worst instructors for math that I have ever had. She has no idea how to teach & grading sucks ass. She is beyond worthless as an instructor. I would have gotten more out of this class if a retarded person taught it! She expects the math book to teach about 95% material to u. Pls avoid her at all costs!

Shannon is a horrible person & teacher. She had 1 student drop class because she humilitaded the student in class. Also, she puts questions on tests/quizes & doesnt go over them in class & expects students to automatically know what we are suppose to do. & than marks us down if we dont know. Her drop out rate for students is high!!

Worst teacher I have ever had. I dreaded coming to class. Some questions on the test we hadn't even gone over in class, I learned more from the MLC. Hey Shannon, when half the people in the class don't do well on your tests, maybe it's time to go over the material, you think? Save yourself the mental anguish that is Shannon Flynn.

Dont talk to anyone in the class or you will get yelled at. This woman needs a reality check. She humiliated me when i asked her a question. I dreaded going to class. avoid this class

Terrible teacher. I didn't learn much from her. She takes out points of your grade for some ridiculous reasons. Avoid her class at all cost. She will just confuse you.

Terrible teacher. Peppers her lectures with incomprehensible references to driving a car, squeals loudly when she misspells something, or squats while lecturing. Never expect a straight answer, or any answer all sometimes. Hide your phone or she'll go on a rant. Grading also seems inconsistent and subjective based on her like/dislike of a student.

Do not take this teacher! She is not very accomadating for online students. Makes her requirements for hand-ins seem clear and simple, but then makes you re-do it and then states that you did not follow directions and makes you re-submit. Take D.Owen! He never makes a student feel stupid, or make life difficult. He explains math very well.

AVOID her at all cost. She is extremely unfair in grading. She pretends to be nice but in fact shes so mean n is very unhelpful. I've got 4.0 in Math 151 and 152 but 3.0 for this god damn class even I studied harder than I was in 151&152,,,,trust me and listen to the comments below n u'll know how terrible she is.

This teacher is horrible! Avoid her at all costs! She posted quizzes incorrectly multiple times, even sometimes not even posting any questions at all with only hours left on the due date. Not very helpful when you ask for help (flat out ignores you). When you find something she did wrong, gives you BS excuses.

AVOID! AVOID! Terrible instructor. Doesn't have a clue as to students other responsibilities. I'm 48 years old and she treats me like an idiot. Refers to deadlines that don't exhist. Waits until day of student's proctor exam appointment to try to transmit exam to proctor then blames the student for not being able to get it transmitted in time.

Avoid, avoid, avoid if at all possible! Very disrespectful and takes no time to answer any questions. Does not care about your life outside of math and thinks that 15+ hours of math homework is acceptable for adults in college. Horrible!!

This class is a perfect example of why people are scared by math. Going into this class I had a 3.9 GPA and a 3.9 in math 80. I'm pretty certain I'm going to fail despite spending many hours working hard.

Worst teacher ever. She is rude and condescending. If a question is asked, she loves to say "Do we need to go back to Math 80?" Absolutely, not a healthy learning environment. She consistently changes what she wants and therefore your continually confused by her requests. She makes no sense in assignments or lectures, if you can call them that.

Ms. Flynn is the worst math teacher I have ever had and as a result I dropped her class and am on schedule to complete the modular version in only two weeks. She has no concept of grading and is the only professor I know who has mastered the art of being passive aggressive in an ONLINE COURSE. She also doesnt comply with the SCC grading scale.AVOID

AVOID! Worst teacher I've ever had. She's rude, condescending and passive aggressive. Directions for problems are often so scattered that you can't understand them, and she gets defensive if you ask for clarification. Even if your math is 100% correct and follows her guidelines, she'll make up a reason to dock points. And this is an online course!

Worst class I've ever taken. I have never had problems in a math class until I took this class. She doesn't teach in class and wants us to asks questions yet never answers them. One class period she sent us to the math learning center instead of teaching us. She also cancelled class all of the time. This class was a waste of time and money.

Stayed in this class for pure entertainment. I mean, who gets to watch a mentally unstable person interact with people for hours at a time. IN REAL LIFE! I didn't even see this kind of stuff in my abnormal psychology class.

I took her online Math 107 class. She'll dock you points for no good reason even if you did the work correctly. She has weird ways of grading your work. She didn't include a project in my final grade and didn't make it clear that I could re-do it during the quarter and for that I didn't pass her class which kept me from graduating. Avoid her.

This class it shouldn't be so hard if you take it with a good professor who could be willing to support and explain well the class. Teacher never gave a positive feed back on my assignments. I felt discourage to ask for help. Final grade was based only on final test and she didn't count good grades you may get throughout the class.

I had to retake this course from the previous quarter, I thought it would be much easier the second time around. It should have been. But no this was the worst class I have ever taken. The one comment I remember the most that really made me angry, was about how zeros are not important. Zeros are very important. I avoided having to talk to her.

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! Her lectures are all over the place and if you ask for clarification she will snap on you! and if she does respond to you it will be with a condescending tone making you feel stupid in front of everyone .I remember her telling one student are "we are not in ,math 70 anymore" when he asked a math question, totally unnecessary.

Worst teacher ever. She took off points because she said my handwriting was messy (yet she could still read it). When I asked her to change my grade, she became very short with me and reluctantly changed my grade to the one I deserved. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Strictist grader I've ever had. Oh you forgot an equals sign half way through solving a problem but not in your final answer? Half points off!

Such an awful teacher ever. I regret that took her class and thanks to god that i got it done. She makes eveything so complicated and make us have to follow her format. Otherwise, u dont get any points for ur work. Also, her calculation for grade is stupid. I think she shouldnt be a teacher!!!!!

If you just asked a simple yes/no question, good luck. She won't answer it, instead she'll play word game with and cause delay on your homework. She made everything so much harder and so much more complicated. No clear instruction on assignment, and the more she explains it, the worse it gets. SAVE YOURSELF! AVOID AT ALL COST!

She doesn't actually teach anything in class. Makes you feel dumb if you don't understand. She doesn't answer questions clearly, or teach the course material in any way. You're expected to read and understand the material without her teaching. She raised her voice at us and interrupted students rudely when they asked questions. Not a good teacher.

Unfortunately, she's the only available instructor for the class I needed so I was STUCK. Grading is unclear and random. No actual instruction is taking place, did a lot of learning on my own. Has online discussions, but gets upset despite students meeting posted criteria. Can't really do anything right despite following rules, so I stopped caring.

Just a heads up she has already been reported to the dean before, so rather than coming here go to the deans office. written paragraphs are best because those stay in her file. she is a horrible passive aggressive teacher that gets mad if you raise your hand in the middle of a lecture

Do not take her online class, whatever I failed Bless you! She is extremely strict! you have to reach her level even though you are not major in Math. If you want to use a pen to finish your final exam or Mid exam, you will get 0 grade for sure. She has very strict rule for written homework as well She also has a lot of homework!!

She goes on rants each day that has nothing to do with what we are learning. She barely teaches us anything, her version of teaching is to go read the text book and practice. We cant practice if you dont show us how. When students try to ask questions, they get answered with another question and a rant about something that doesnt relate.

On the first day, she seemed friendly and normal. As the class progressed, I noticed we didn't use the book in class. The class felt very disorganized and when asking her questions, she didn't give clear answers. She was very off topic several times and it seems she didn't like to answer questions. I dropped the class. I was very disappointed.

She will not out-right help you. Used to having in-class help on simple assignments? Used to having a teacher somewhat clarify problems to you? Well, you won't get that here. As a student who struggled finding a decent math teacher, I expected Flynn to be able to tell me if I'm wrong or right so I can further expand my knowledge. No help.

She was an awful teacher. She didn't answer your questions when you asked, interrupts you when you try to ask for help and denies her assistance. She makes the students teach each other rather than her teaching you anything at all. She does not teach and makes it impossible to learn anything. 10/10 don't recommend.

Condescending, rude, interrupter, and passive-aggressive. She asks students who haven't taken math in a long time to help other students who are just as confused. She goes and does her own version of math without telling you why - only that its how it's supposed to be done. Threatened to take pts from my bc I used erasable pen. Horrible. Off topic.

She was the worst teacher I 've ever met. She was so rude and discriminates people a lot. So She treats nicely for perfect students only. Her instructions and all are unclear. When students ask some questions, she asks student back instead of telling teaching. Do not take her class, please. You will just get a lot of stresses and hardships.

First of all, She won't return emails in a timely manner. She nitpicks everything but Math. She docks off daily points if you are a few minutes late. Flynn goes on rants that are always off topic. She is very condescending. There are No lectures, just group work. Lastly, She urges students to watch math videos rather than seek help from her.

I took her class online and it was completely a waste of my time and money. She's very blunt to her students, when questions asked. You'll be on your own. Easy math class turns into stressful class.

If I could give a rating of 0 I would. Currently taking her online math 099 class. For every assignment I have gotten every answer right but she will not grade me above a 80% due to nit picky things like not spelling a word right or using improper punctuation. Pretty sure it is impossible to get a 4.0 in this class if that's what you aim for.

I wish I had found this before I registered. Everything said is correct. She is the most scattered teacher I have ever had. Her Communication is verbose and extremely hard to decipher. If printed, our syllabus would be around 20 pages changing at a moments notice. NOT caring EC canceled it assuming lack of interest to RSVP posted only days before

In high school I took and aced honors math classes, but due to Flynn's lack of teaching I failed her class. Since it was online, she thought she didn't need to teach us and just uploaded videos to do it for her. Whenever I'd ask questions, she either didn't answer or responded with "watch the video". I highly recommend you avoid her classes!

Worst class ever. Basically, she did absolutely nothing. Didn't even receive grades for 2 homework assignments. Difficult to contact, provides no instruction or feedback. Docks you hard hard on trivial stuff that is not even relevant to the equation. Even had a pointless discussion board. I made sure NOT to take her Math146 class. AVOID IF YOU CAN!

This is the worst professor I have ever met. I took higher level math already but need some elective credits so I took this class. I got over 3.7 gpa in every other higher level maths and so I thought this is going to be really easy for me. However, she graded things weird and didnt make sense at all. Never get a full credit not matter what.

She nit picks about grades, I got marked a zero becaue I had the spiral of my notebook showing in a picture I had to submit, that is not even math related. She states that she cares, but if you have to even say that, you clearly don't.

Prof. Flynn seems to be invested in the class, with constant announcements and board posts, but she's an extremely poor written communicator, gives HW assignments totally unrelated to the material, and docks heavy points for submitting homework that doesn't fully adhere to her absurdly elaborate formatting criteria.

She will never give you credit for anything. She hasnt put in the homework assignments worth the most points yet and theres 2 weeks left. She literally gave me a 50% on an assignment when it was 100% right because she said the submission was miniature. Shannon Flynn is an incredibly tough teacher with incredibly tough guidelines on what is an acceptable submission. Be prepared to get a very low grade for pedantic and irrelevant grading criteria. I got a 0% on a show your work assignment because she refused to grade it because I had a quarter inch of a grey blanket visible underneath my homework.

Shannon Flynn is the WORST teacher I've ever had. She will ding you points on things that she thinks you've done wrong, but has not specified (ie center justification vs left). The material, tests, and online homework aren't too hard, but she makes this class so much harder by moving around deadlines and uploading the wrong information.

If you want a online teacher that gives you easy homework, then this is the one. She will mark points off your paper if your handwriting is not a straight line. She will dock points if you put 2 signs together. She will give you an extension for a quiz if it was her mistake but if you did it before the extension it is due, then it will be erase

Save yourself a quarter and don't take this class because I guarantee you would mostly likely end up retaking. If you do though be prepared to do lots of self-study to pass

Makes you pay for a textbook you don't actually need. Doesn't teach or give feedback at all. Give you assignments and tests and that's all. Bad with calendar and class notification. No extra credit. Doesn't actually teach, just assigns. Has participation timer that doesn't make sense and was never explained.

OMG I am scared I wont pass!, I'm pretty good in math and all other classes, THIS IS THE WORSE TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!! I am currently failing the class. I cant believe this! She does not teach math at all! She uses long videos of other teachers as her own. She will not answer question but tell you to post in her discussions.

ABSOLUTELY WORST PRO I HAVE EVER MET! AS A MATH ASSIGNMENT, GRADE ONLY BASED ON FORMAT SUCH AS YOU FORGOT TO LEAVE A LINE BETWEEN YOUR NAME AND QUESTION 1 OR THE SUBMISSION WAS NOT STRAIGHT ENOUGH! I TOOK MATH 144, 151 AND 152 BEFORE HER 111. I GOT ALL 3.9 OR 4.0 ON OTHERS, BUT HERS, MY GRADE IS 2.4.

I say hilarious for her ridiculous presentation assignments. I definitely see the need for it. HOWEVER. Upon turning in rubric perfect work, she still gave me a 1 out of 40 because the page images were very small on her end. They were standard letter sized and in the screenshot she sent me, she was just zoomed out so it appeared small. Ridiculous.

Horrible teacher, she makes us do these presentation assignments and makes us waste so much paper due to her strict guidelines. If you need help in this class, don't even bother emailing her because she will be more concerned with the way you "incorrectly" wrote an email rather than actually helping you.

I can't stand her, she is the worst professor I've ever had. She is so irritating when it comes to turning in paper assignments online. I haven't learned anything in her class because she just gives us videos to watch instead of helping us.

One of the worst teachers ever. She grades everything on an arbitrary formatting standard that she made up. No actual feedback on anything math-related, only on her unnecessary formatting. No clear grading structure. No actual teaching, only youtube videos from other people. Completely spams students with emails every day. Avoid her classes!

Professor Flynn is by far the worst teacher Ive come across. Her way of helping students is to not even help unless you email her properly. Her grading system is something she made up herself and bases on formatting rather than the actual math. The curriculum consists of other peoples youtube videos and the HW and quizzes.

She loves having presentation assignment, which is just written homework. if you dont follow her specific formatting she will give u a 1. even if all the math is correct, if you dont use the right paper, have straight lines, etc, you will fail the assignment and she wont change the grade, even after emailing her and talking about it. the worst

the youtube videos she uploads are not hers!! They are just random vids taken from youtube. Half the time they don't even pertain to the homework or test content. Refused to properly grade most of my papers because of formatting. avoid at all costs!!

She posts youtube videos that arent hers, doesnt actually teach or lecture in any form, and expects you to understand things that aren't in the videos. I've always been good at math but shes ridiculous. Emailing her is difficult and uncomfortable because she only responds if you email in the proper format. worst ever.

She seems to have good intentions but I would avoid taking her if you can. She doesn't give an opportunity for students to give feedback on her teaching at any point in the quarter. I asked her several specific questions on assignments/quizzes and she responded with passive aggressive statements about formatting rather than math help.

Despite finding the content easy, I would be marked down on assignments for insignificant things like having a white border around my scanned work. I understand the need for uniform/clear formatting, but she takes it to an excessive level that does not benefit learning. She masks this with over the top "niceness" yet is unhelpful and unforgiving.

The worst teacher I've ever had. She is super picky on grading every assignment - including the spacing between problems and everything had to be handwritten. Even if I get the correct answer, she will deduct points for not following her writing rules. Doesn't actually teach and never specifies. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.

This professor is very picky for grading written assignment. You have to follow her format or she will deduct your points. And she is not helpful. I worked very hard for whole quarter, but still get very low grade. She doesn't care about student's grade and future! Think twice if you plan to take her class.

The teacher likes to use simple details explaining her criteria for written assignments. Good luck matching your scan to what she really wants, which she cannot explain what it is. I even reached out to the student support, as she insisted and condescended upon me, and two or more of them agreed my paper was fine. 300 DPI and various margin scans.

I agree with the importance of methodology in math but much of the grading feels arbitrary and excessively meticulous. If multiple students are struggling/failing, that is an infliction on the teacher's connection of material to the pupil and not the students. with best intents Shannon Flynn, please study on the Piaget theory of learning.

She always tries her hardest to come off as a nice person yet her actions never show it-- she shows no remorse in grading written assignments (something that I'd argue is graded arbitrarily) and never shows grace for any technological difficulties or bugs. The worst class I have taken by far.

She will leave out grading criteria on assignments, will not give the full feedback necessary in order to get 100%. Instructions are all over the place and has a condescending attitude. I don't think she understands what she wants either. Answers and work can be correct, but if you do not follow her UNspecific writing requirements it won't matter.

Hates Shannon Flynn with a passion. This class is not to learn math, it is to satisfy the teacher and learn how to take notes by her standard. She uses random videos from YouTube and gives questions that are not correlated to the lectures. I don't think this class is worth anyone's time and it's a horrible class. DONT TAKE IT FOR YOUR SAKE 0/10

I wish I had listened to the other complaints on this website, but I decided to take her class because it was the only online option. She doesn't actually teach anything, you just watch youtube. I didn't feel that we learned what we needed to learn to do well on written assignments and tests. This was the worst class experience I have ever had.

working on assignments for this teacher was so emotionally draining it's almost impressive. every time I check my calendar and see I have homework due for this class I feel like killing myself?? one thing she is very good at is being passively aggressive in text

This teacher can't teach. The lecture she gave us which was only through videos she made herself only covered up 60% of the materials being taught. Everytime I do presentations or written work which she is very extra about that, I always have to look up to other sources to understand because she only teaches half of it.

Wish I followed the advice given in the reviews of this professor and not taken her asynchronous class. I believe she means well, but in my view she is out of touch with modern technology and communication norms, and is profoundly disorganized. Do yourself a favor and go in person if you have to. Don't risk your GPA with this professor.

No doubt, one of the worst professors I have ever taken, the math itself is pretty easy, high school level stuff, but the requirements she has for "presentations" are so obscure and strict, and they tank your grade heavy, again the questions are easy, but the format she wants everything written and submitted in is very strange. PLEASE DONT TAKE HER
