Makes class very interesting and you always get out early. a few projects out of class but they arent bad

despite the fact that she takes a long time to respond to emails and phone calls, she really relates to the students. is very easy-going and fun and the projects are really easy.

I actually learned something in this class; she knows the material is dry, but she really tries to make it fun. Definitely a cool woman and VERY helpful. Proffessor Hoakanson is an asset to MU !!! never in my 3 years here hgave I had a teacher who is so much fun so laid back yet manages to teach you a thing or two! I loved herclass and wish i were a comm majro so I could take more of her classes in all however, she is an excellent teacher and a fair grader!I would reccomend everyone to take her!!!!!

I'm takinh her right now at Ocean County College todays the last day :( i really was mad about taking pub speaking but she makes you feel so comfortable! shes very energetic and hlarious take her at monmouth as well but also try her pub speaking class at occ!!!

I had her for critical discourse over the summer and she was great! I really could not have desired to take this class any less but she made the whole experience pretty painless. Very bright, energetic, and easy going - easy to talk to and friendly. Hokanson rocks!

Take senior sem with Hokanson!!! That long paper turns into like 7 pages...and she is a very fair grader. Plus, if you start at 8:30, you can come in at 9. She was definitely one of my favorite professors through my 4 years at Monmouth.

her intro to comm class was easy. she lets you take the final on the last day of class. lots of stupid group project always let out early. pass the tests and do the projects youll do fine

Great professor! Very nice, and very funny. I learned so much from her. She makes learning fun. She is very fair. If you attend class, and do the assignments, you cannot go wrong. I highly suggest you take any classes with her. I have taken her twice already. I plan on taking her again. She shows interest in her students, and what they have to say.

Professor Hokanson's class was my favorite class this semester. Fun and interesting group assignments and her enthusiasm for the class made me enjoy the class. Such a great and friendly professor. Made every lesson enjoyable. Class is fun and engaging, never boring. Definately take this class (or any class with her)!

This class was ok. She is a very enthusiastic person. I didn't learn much, she was very unclear and rambles about her personal life. On the bright side the average class was 30 mins. Exams are ok. We did a paper in sept and never got it back. Might take her again.

I loved Hokansons class I definatly learned a lot, she doesnt overcomplicate things. yeah shes wacky but thats what makes her class so interesting and fun. it doesnt hurt that shes hot too!

Hokanson is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. She is generally a very happy person and is always smiling. Classes tend to be rather short and there really aren't many major assignments that you dont have adaquate time for. She's also a really fair grader.

She is an awesome teacher. She rarely keeps you for the full class. She gives you the notes and explains them in detail. Fun, interesting group projects, rarely any homework besides reading, no tests aside from the midterm and final. She has a very unique, fun personality and is always smiling, relates the lessons to her personal life.

I love this professor! I am triple majoring, and I switched my comm advisor to her because of her undying willingness to accomodate. That, and she is such an amicable person. It is a privilege to have her, unlike that innefectual, awful Dr. Fredericks over in the IT department. I would rather have Hokansen than a lot of other professors.

Seriously, the people who do not like prof hokanson must be in affiliation with al-queda. She is the easiest, sweetest, most helpful professor at MU. Take her as many times as you possibly can. Plus shes kinda hot.

She's one crazy woman. Very funny and personable. I had her for a 3 hour class and we always got let out AT LEAST at hour early. She makes sure you understand the class material and doesn't assign homework often.

She's the best! so funny and entertaining. Understands its a lower level class and does not push her students an extreme amount. Midterm and final were simple. Gives study guides and absolutely just loved being in her class. She makes it so fun!

This class will be very easy, as long as you know the material. She only gives a midterm and a final, so make sure you do well on those. Otherwise, this is an easy class, and the professor is nice, and passionate about the theories taught.

She is a very nice and young professor who understands that her Intro to Comm class isn't on the top priority of classes. Her lectures result in an interesting discussion. Her tests aren't super easy, but her projects usually are. She tends to show up late sometimes and cancel class, but is always helpful in and out of the classroom.

TAKE HER! She is one of the funniest/personable professors at Monmouth. Makes everything super easy to understand, the work isn't hard at all and she makes you super comfortable if you have trouble speaking in front of a class. Usually lets students out early if her lesson is complete.

Prof. Hokanson is amazing!! I had her for my first year seminar "Communication in Relationships" and it wasn't difficult at all. You need to study for the midterm and final but other than that, just participate and enjoy how hilarious she is! She gives extra credit if you put your phone in the front of the class. Definitely take her and her class!

best professor I've had so far. She's very bubbly and happy all the time. This class was very easy and we barely did any work, but there were only 2 tests so you have to make sure you pass them. She really puts in the effort to get to know her students and she nearly always ended class early which is an obvious plus.

This woman is a saint. She is super amazing and caring. I had her for my service learning class. If you could avoid taking this class and doing an internship instead, I would do that! If not, she's the absolute best professor. You mainly work with a group all semester to create a binder and she gives no hw. She fantastic and really works with you!

Her class was really easy but we really learned a lot. She was so sweet and kind and truly cares about her students. Just make sure you do the few assignments given and study for the 2 exams and you will be good to go!

Was this the easier class Ive ever taken at MU? Yes. But I didnt learn anything because quizlet and group projects. She assigns reading in a free textbook that nobody reads lol. She has 30 minute zoom classes. Overall a very very easy class but I felt like I wanted to be pushed to learn more - was too easy. She is funny and respected.

The most caring, fun, personable, and sweet professor I have ever taken. I took intro to communication and there is barely any work - a group project, a take home midterm/final, and a 3-6-minute speech at the end of the semester. Hokanson makes lectures fun and entertaining. Always lets you out early - longest class was probably 40 mins.

Professor Hokanson is the nicest woman ever and loves her job. She made doing work in her class super fun, and the group projects help you make good friends. She does assign a couple of essays, but the midterm and final are take-home essays that only take up 30 min. Definitely would take Hokanson again.

Great lady, hard to comment on her teaching skills lots of this class is independent group work where we organize fundraisers but she was always there to help out!
