Good teacher, straight to the point. Took him at night for DMAT 0093 and MATH 1414. Got an A in both. You will get behind if you miss too many classes. Textbook not required, only mymathlab.
He is a great teacher I took his DMAT 0093 and Math 141and 4 online he was very helpful and I passed both with an A, I highly reccomend this teacher.
I'm currently taking him for Summer I. He seems like he'd be an excellent Professor during the main terms, but, I'm telling you,Summer teaching is just not his thing -or more like, he'd much rather be in his bed catching some Z's. He wasn't very active on mymathlab, but did what he could in class. But meh, he's a great teacher anyhow :)
Took online MATH. No textbook needed, you work at your own pace. Not a lot of homework, but a fair amount. 7 chapter tests, a midterm, and a final. Would take him again.
I do not do well in math, but I really liked this online course. I did not use the textbook at all. The instructional videos are extremely helpful. I didn't ask any questions throughout the course, so I can't comment on helpfulness. I am dissappointed this teacher is not available for DMAT 0091.
I took the self paced online class last semester, and even though the course is online, he is will and happy to assist you. I highly recommend his course if you are given that option.
Easy class. Self paced.
Great teacher!took this class online for Summer I.It's self paced and very easy and this is coming from someone who is horrible at math
This professor is great! All tests online with 2 attempts. Very helpful even though it was an online class. Calc 2 is a hard subject but he made it more than doable. You should take him any chance you get.
Read, read, and read the chapters! That's the number one tip to succeed in any college class. Calculus is a challenging subject, as long as you read the book and spend time working through the exercises in the study plan before attempting the homework and quizzes there's no reason to not get an A in this class. Great teacher. He's there for you .
Requires mymathlab, no book! Took it online and was decently easy. A quiz after every chapter, one midterm, one final. It was self paced, I finished two weeks earlier and do plan on taking him 1351! I completely recommend this professor!
Absolutely amazing online professor and really great math professor. I can't tell you how many times I had to email about a bug in MyMathLab, or how my ghetto computer froze again during problem 18 of 30. He was very quick to respond, understanding, and worked together with me to fix the issues at hand. Pace yourself! There is a lot of work.
Took the online summer class! Pretty simple and you can work at your own pace. Only 1 midterm and final. Quizzes and homework every week. Taking him for 1351! Answers emails quickly and friendly
easy class
Easy A. Online Calculus 2 class.
Expect a lot of homework! Homework for each chapter section, then a quiz at the end of the chapter. Self-paced but easy to procrastinate. Midterm and final are long and timed (sometimes run out of time) Very organized. Everything is done on mymathlab and graded by the computer. Easy to check grades. Just do not procrastinate & do everything weekly
Good instructor. Lots of videos if taking the class online. Do not get behind. If you do, you will fail. If you work ahead, you can always retake previous tests to possibly increase your grade. Strongly suggest working the practice exercises in both the book and the online lesson.
Great professor not like other prof who won't let you take test before due date. As long as you practice everyday you will be ok.
Great guy. I was hesitant to take calculus online, but I didn't have a choice since my local college had only one cal teacher during another class. He writes back fast, he's a great help, and he's very clear. Calculus is hard, but he made it better.
If you enjoy working at your own pace then I recommend him for online calculus. He responds to emails in a timely manner and provides helpful videos.
Self-paced, very straightforward. As long as you do the homework and quizzes on time, you will have no problem. He seems like a pretty cool guy.
took online cal II and it is VERY easy to make an A in this course if you do the hw (there is alot)and take the practice quizzes before the test. keep your hw bc 80% of the problems are copied and pasted onto the test&final or use same eq just diff values. don't get behind on hw or you cant move on to next section and points are deducted by day
Calculus is hard. No ifs ands or buts. But he responds to every email, every question, and every issue quickly and gives a great explanation. I'm sad I can't take any classes with him now that I've finished Cal 3. If you need Calculus, do him! I will say that his summer classes are INTENSE. 1 to 2 assignments due every day of the week.
took 1350&1351 w/ him during summer 1 & summer 2. The number of questions per hw were ridiculous. 4-5 Hw sections/chapter,1 quiz/chapter, midterm & final. Never once talked to him myself. Everything due @ end of semester. Does not give extensions.
The class is not too hard but be ready to do 1-2 sections of Hw per day. Also you get 2 chances to do the chapter quizzes and he doesn't change the questions on the second attempt. As long as you put in the time and effort you'll make an easy A.
He is an amazing teacher. He goes over examples from homework and tests in class while lecturing to make sure students understand how to work problems. He will work with you if you make simple mistakes or round improperly. He wants students to participate in class, but it is not a requirement. I would have him as a professor in all of my future math classes if I could.
I appeared absolutely nothing was pared down from a regular semester course for this summer course I was taking. I was unable to complete all the assignments and tests.....I work full time and there was just not enough time to complete all assignments.
I had taken Prof Kratzmeyers Cal 2 class online for the Fall semester. We had two tests the midterm and the final along with 4 chapter quiz's. There was a lot of homework but its not to hard if you like math. He was a pretty great prof and even wrote me a recommendation letter for a NASA program. Would defiantly recommend taking any of his classes.
Took this class through Mathlab, only gives 2 attempts on the quizzes. and 1 attempt on the tests. Bunch of work, but fairly easy to do. E-Mails quickly, and is always happy to help.
Too much work for someone who has a full time job. You will need to have good time management skills and no friends. The work itself is pretty easy but it requires many steps & its twice as many questions than his 1350 class. Theres 2-3 sections of hw due every week, not including a quiz every 2 weeks, a midterm and a final.
Took this class for Winter Term, it was really intense. Two sections due every day but he opened the course a week ahead of time and also gave extra few days to work on homework when the system went down for maintenance. He gives a quick response to emails and helps you with each step when you have a problem. Awesome professor!
I WOULDN'T TAKETHIS CLASS DURING THE SUMMER! WAY too much work due and in an unrealistic time frame. The level of difficulty is 7/10 and takes a long time to work through. 8 homework assignments due in 1 week where each have 20-30 questions and quizzes each week. I think this would be a great class to take during the fall, as you will have more tim
I am absolutely God AWFUL at Math. I had a really tough time throughout this course. With that being said, my inability to understand the concepts has nothing to do with the Professor or his ability to teach the subject. This online course was very simple to navigate, and Prof Kratzmeyer was very helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions.
Online Course was very fast paced. Keep yourself organized and allow plenty of time to do the homework. Every chapter has a quiz that follows, midterm and final exam. Over all the class was good. Professor was helpful and always available . A lot of work though, be prepared to hit the books.
Im not sure what the other reviews are about but I just finished his summer calc course and I would never recommend him. HE LITERALLY TYPES HIS ANNOUNCEMENTS BEFORE THE CLASS STARTS. It was like a robot was running the class. He is not motivating or checks on how you are doing. The exams were difficult, I felt alone with out any help.
This was a tough class. I sent quite a few emails for help, and always got a quick response with the problem worked out. Everything was super organized and it was easy to navigate. Weekly announcements to remind you what was due that week. I would take him again.
You have to complete each assignment with a 70 or above to move to the next and have 2 chances to do the quiz but need 70 or above so don't expect to be able to jump around and move to the next while waiting for help on the previous assignment. There is no textbook for the course and you're given a document that you have a third party app open.
His course was easy and fun. Two attempts were allowed for each chapter quiz. More than enough time was given for the tests: three hours for chapter quizzes, each with about 15-18 questions, and six hours for the midterm and final, each with 40 questions. And, the practice questions for the midterm and final were great preparation for the tests.
Work was typical of what I expected. If you are lazy, or expect a grade without working like some people these days, then you should probably pass on this class. If you barely passed calculus I, don't take this course. The course is laid out very organized. Course calendar was very helpful. Professor always responded back very quickly.
I took this professor for math 1350 for my teaching degree. The course is super organized. I never contacted the professor, so I don't know about his communication. He had a very good calendar to follow, and emails reminders a lot, which I liked. I will take again for 1351.
I just finished the work in Calculus II online winter. Lots of work for the short time, but since it was my only class it was fine. I sent him questions every day and got worked out problems back from him. Very organized. Also, you pay for access once for calc 1 and use it for all three courses. I highly recommend taking him for all of them.
I took hi class during Winter. Lots of homework. He will write out the problems for you. You cant slack of in this class.
I took Cal-2 with him online. Everything is on MyMathLab. Exam questions directly come from Unit quizzes. So, take notes of the Unit quizzes and you take unit quizzes 2 times. In the exam, you will see around 40 questions (time 360min). Don't need to send the paper after the exam. Take him and pass this class without any stress.
I took May mini and of course there was a lot of work make sure you know what you sign up for. But as long as you stay on top of it youll for sure pass. Do the practice exams because those make up the test. If you have any questions he replys almost instantly. Definitely would take him again.
This was definitely a time-intensive class. I opted to take this class online with Professor Kratzmeyer due to the heavy homework called out on his ratings, as I truly want to grok the material. Professor Kratzmeyer was very responsive and helpful, always responding in a cordial timely fashion. I am taking MATH2414 in the spring with him as well!
I took the online class and he responds to emails quickly. I had a couple of problems I didnt understand so I asked and he was very helpful and took the time to work out the problem and show me how to enter it into the calculator. I am taking him again for calculus II.
One of the most Amazing professors I have ever had. Very Understanding!
All book no videos or examples for this class. I dropped it the first day because there was no help given with any of the assignments. If you struggle with Math dont take this class you will be on your own. On top of that she gives three shots at passing homework, if you get no help it should be unlimited tries so that you can keep practicing.
I just finished Professor Kratzmeyer's course from the Spring. The course was laid out very well. I enjoyed it a lot. I only asked 4-5 questions over the entire semester, but he answered them almost immediately.
This guy is horrible. Took maymester online class. Expects to do 80-100 questions everyday. And if you do not finish on time, he cuts off points by 5% per day. Dont take this guy especially in summer
I took him for Math 1350 and 1351 and he was amazzzzziiiingggg. Responds fast to emails, always keeps us posted, and communicates a lot!
Professor Kratzmeyer was amazing, he sent the announcement every day to remind what due tonight and 2 attempts for each quiz, and 1 attempt for midterm and final. This course goes by fast, be aware of the due date. I did not have to email to ask him any question.
Don't take the Summer 4-wk. Curriculum is all on MyMathLab: 80-100 Qs/day Assignments that have to be done in order (no flexibility) I found mistakes that Prof had to send to the publishers No lectures, no TAs, no Office Hours I'm teaching myself everything. If you haven't taken Calc in a while like me, the lack of instruction SUCKS.
Fairly easy course if you stay on track. Quite a few problems every day in the 4 week course. Emailed often. Answered all the questions I had. Course is very organized.
I got a 100% in this course! I will be taking him again for 1351.
Literally never talked to this guy. Took calc 2 over the summer and it was all on MyMathLab. I had to turn in 2 homeworks with at least 25 questions each every day to stay on track to finish on time. A super-heavy course that is really time-consuming.
Does not require specific meeting times. Posts his own videos of problems worked out each week. Quizzes and the Midterm and Final were all problems I had seen on the homework. Reviews for the major tests. Can finish the class early which was good for me.
Calculus was a difficult course for me, but I this course made it easier. Professor Kratzmeyer has his own videos and made a ton of them for me when I asked him over the semester. Most times I had a problem, he would create a video and send me the link. He seems really nice. I would take him again. Oh, and two attempts on quizzes was nice.
Unlike most other professors during this online class period, this professor was very accessible. He always responds to emails and welcomes any questions and is eager to help. The profesor is also always checking in on the students, which meant a lot.
I took wintermester, don't do it if you can help it... It sucked the life out of me. I also have a feeling that the course doesn't change depending on the semester length and it's the same course no matter what semester your in. Shannon is quick to grade, other than that the course is all online through Pearson mylab and it's on you.
I am very happy that I decided to take Professor Kratzmeyer's class. The work is difficult, but he has a lot of things that help you. The videos he makes are good, and he is very quick to respond. He actually seems to care about our success unlike some profs I have taken in the past. If you are on the fence about this class, do it.
1 Mid-term exam, 1 Final Exam, a quiz for every chapter, 2-4 homework assignments every week (41 HW assignments in total). Everything was through MyLab Math. Will work with your schedule and help if your stuck. He replies emails fast with problems worked out on paper with amazing breakdown.
Great Professor. The work is tough, but he is very responsive to email, and has his own videos for a lot of the tougher problems.
take it, he is the most caring professor I had.
Took his 16-week course. There are 41 homework, 7 tests, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Most helpful advice: TAKE GOOD NOTES AND TRY TO ANSWER EVERY QUESTION ON THE HOMEWORK. This is because some homework questions appear on the test, midterm, and final. He replies to emails in less than 24 hours. Overall, a great professor and a tough course.
Took him for a 16-week spring semester and just got done with the class! Course was a little on the tougher side, that said, Prof. Kratzmeyer really helps and responds to you very quick! But would recommend taking it for 16-weeks as it is pretty time-consuming. Overall great class!
Amazing amazing professor, can't recommend him enough. Everything is clearly outlined and easy to keep up with if you just follow his recommendations and keep your eye on the syllabus. Definitely take him especially if you're doing his classes online.
I am taking this professor's college algebra class. He is a really good teacher. He explains things very clearly and seems to like being asked questions. He sends videos to us if he didn't get to a topic in class. I recommend this teacher if you are taking a class that isn't online.
I took this class during summer and the professor was organized. I recommend taking her class. I had two due dates to complete everything. Exam and quizzes are on lockdown instead of on campus which is very convenient.
Really helpful instructor.
If you work/have an outside life then be ready to be overwhelmed with the workload, he was not understanding and i kept having issues with the ALEKS program we had to use & it set me back alot so i had to withdraw and while addressing this he couldnt do nothing. Wouldnt recommend.
This professor has his own videos which was very helpful.
math 1332. Lots of homework and 3 "tests" webcam used but test are not different from what you are learning. I love math so enjoyed this class. Also allows on makeup exam, which unfortunately i had to use since my brother passed. helpful and understanding. Good class, should be extremely achievable to get an A. i just missed multiple assignments.
This professor is very fair and has clear guidelines from the beginning. Tests and quizzes use a camera which is nerve-wracking but understandable. Questions in the exam come from the homework and quizzes so take notes on that. Do not fall behind or you're going to suffer. Overall it is a very well-organized and fair class.
I took Cal 2 as a summer class so there was a lot of work, as to be expected. If you are willing to put time and effort into this class, you will do fine. Recorded quizzes and tests, but I never had a final. SUPER fast with responding to emails. I'm pretty sure we were allowed notes on quizzes and tests, but I can't rember 100%
Took this course online this summer and did not regret it at all. Professor is really nice and responds to emails very quickly. The course is definitely not easy, but if you plan your time out wisely, it is totally doable.
professor is caring and kind. took a 4-week summer online calculus course, and I almost cried doing my assignments, quizzes, and exams. It wasn't easy. No extra credits. Each assignment had to be completed before the next one opened. Quizzes and exams used the LockDown browser. You must practice all assignments before quizzes and exams. good luck:)
This Prof was excelent. I am by no means a math wiz, However even though this course was extremely fast paced being a summer course the prof never failed to answer any questions or emails I had for him. I sent probably around 10 emails in a 4 week span and he always got back to me within 24 hours. Taking this over the summer was very time consuming
I found the workload in this class to be overwhelming, the lecture videos are primarily based on the textbook, which can be very difficult to understand without a strong math background. The quizzes, midterms and the final were also quite challenging. Despite putting in a lot of effort, and practice I didn't enjoy this class.
If you are taking the online course for Calc 2, it will be a lot of self-studying and a lot of Pearson. I took an 8-week course, and homework took almost 7-8 hours per week. I HIGHLY recommend you do the practice midterms and final, and utilize your second attempt for quizzes. For being an online class, Professor Kratzmeyer responds to emails well.
If youre taking this as a summer course, All you need to know is theres sooo much homework, 5 quizzes and two exams, The quizzes are the hardest thing so take advantage of the open note and solve out every homework question, the questions on the quiz would be very similar, then solve out every practice test question then the exam would be an easy A
Midterm plus Final worth 50% of your grade but class is so easy let me drop a hack for yall taking it. Just write down every question from the practice test on your notes and when it comes to midterm or final, it is the same questions just with different numbers but there is also a chance they have the exact same answers easiest A of my life.
Definitely don't take it online. It is all just pre-made videos. There is no syllabus, no email anywhere unless you dig deep. I missed one exam and I was not allowed to retake it because I was suspected of cheating? I've had my camera set up every exam so this is just disrespectful. Then he said he will delete all my exam scores if I don't fix it.
You will have to do a lot of self teaching. There wasn't even a syllabus, only AYLEKS. There are videos he provides but it is difficult to understand without a background in math. I missed an exam but then a few weeks later he adjusted my grade to 100 when I never even took it. I emailed but he was disrespectful. Wouldn't recommend.
