This is a buisness communications class > she is so hot!!! You want her dudes. The class doesn't have tests anymore -- they switched to all papers and buisness speaches, so just prepair for that. Shannon is sweet, but you must attend to get a good grade. She is helpful if she likes you, and comes across rude many times. SUPER HOT!

I think I liked accounting because of Mrs. McCutchen. Shes very down to business, but extremely helpful and very quick to respond through emails, etc. Accounting in itself is hard, but she was an awesome teacher. Class is mandatory, but powerpoints are on blackboard. Weekly homework, but not too hard. Loved her!

I actually took two classes of hers in one semester. She is really nice and always willing to help her students. She will even go out of her way to help. Attendance is mandatory and you must be on time. Sadly, I ended up having to take a medical withdrawal for the semester I took with her, but I would take another class with her. Book REALLY helps!

I would recommend taking her! She's a great professor. Attendance counts and there is weekly homework. She is always eager to help and clarify things. She made accounting easy to learn and enjoyable for me.

SHE IS A SAINT. I went into this class worried about accounting, knowing the subject did not come easy to me. She is kind, extremely smart, AMAZING at teaching in a way that students understand. By end of the semester, not only had I done well, but I actually understood the material. I wish that I could take her class again!!!

The first half was financial accounting and the second half was managerial accounting; she explained managerial a lot better than financial. There were only three tests in the class and sometimes it felt that she covered more than she needed to. She gave extra credit through homework. Wasn't a very interesting class, but it wasn't bad.

Attendance is mandatory and while she goes over all the material, you need to study outside of class in order to pass the tests. She also goes over practice problems similar to test questions on the class days right before the tests. Online homework is easy.

Mrs. McCutchen is a great professor and great at explaining. Very fair in grading and in assigning work. As long as you pay attention in class and/or read the textbook the tests will be a breeze. Quizzes are more of a completion grade than accuracy. Homework is once a week and doesn't take long. Overall an easy class and applicable to real life.

Accounting 225- hard class but she makes it okay. Other professor make this class so much more difficult, she is easy to understand. Tests study in-class examples, homework, and PowerPoints and you will be fine.

She wants her students to succeed, the class just has some tough concepts. She gives good lectures and goes over homework in class, so you shouldn't need to read the book to understand the material. The test questions are usually similar to the review questions and homework, and are all multiple choice.

She's a great professor as long as you go to class and pay attention. All the homework you can try again and again until you get 100 so if you don't get 100 then it's your fault for not doing it in time. Since this is a weed out class, she doesn't really care if you had any personal problems, so if you missed something, you miss it.

The entire class is based out of the book so reading is worth the time. Mrs. McCutchen is very relatable and easy to talk to. The tests are only 25 questions so be prepared to know how to apply the information you learn from lectures. If you put the time in the class should not be difficult.

I thought she was great. The idea of the class is get the general info from reading the text book and then go to class and do the homework to really solidify it. I read every chapter twice and went to SI on top of the class work. You definitely have to put in some work but it is doable. also you have unlimited attempts on HW and Quizzes.

I really liked Prof. McCutchen. With such a large class, she did a great job teaching the material. She explained everything really well! She was always available after class to answer questions. That being said, the tests are 90% of the grade and using the textbook is pretty much essential if you want to do well. I really enjoyed her class though!

She makes learning Accounting easy! I enjoyed taking this class as much as one can. As long as you do the work you will definitely make a good grade. McCutchen does a great job of breaking down complicated material. Her lectures were super helpful, especially if you read the textbook before coming to class. The 3 exams including the final make up a huge part of your grade even though there is a lot of homework, and she tries to trick you on her tests. Your effort determines your grade.

Very good professor, knows her stuff. I will say, her exams are extremely tricky and will likely test your knowledge aggressively with occasional misleadings or tricks to ensure you truly know the complete logistics of each and every step and method. This was my first accounting class and I thought Mrs. McCutchen was great! ACCT is a tough class in general but this was a 3 week class. Most of our grade depended on 3 exams but hw and quizzes helped. She cares about her students doing well and understanding the material and teaches it well. Shes willing to help if you put in the effort.

Definitely a hard class but doable if you print out her PowerPoints to use as notes and take notes on the readings. Definitely need to show up and focus or you won't do well. She has a lot of built in extra credit which is great for a class this hard. Your SI will be your best friend & honestly those helped more than class.

Best professor for ACCT there is from what Ive heard. You have to take the class so just take her. Go to class, take notes, and try to go to SI sessions and you will do fine. Try for as many points as you can through HW and Quizzes because the tests are tricky.

I would definitely recommend taking her for this class! Every week there is an online homework assignment and quiz but there is unlimited attempts so you will always get a 100. The tests are tricky but if you go to the SI sessions every week you can get an A. She takes attendance every day but gives extra credit at the end if you do everything!

I just finished Acct 225 within Prof Mccutchen. She was a great teacher. Introduce yourself, she's very friendly. Pay attention in class, she is very thorough and makes sure she explains everything in detail. There are many resources in that class as well, there is no reason you should fall behind. There are 3 exams. The final is not cumulative.

Accounting 225 is a hard class no matter who you have as a professor, but she will work with you and try to help you out. She's tough, but a really great professor who clearly works hard and puts in a lot of effort, and expects the same from you. She's nice and responsive to email and will meet you outside of class.

This class will be hard regardless of who you are or who you take but she does try her hardest to explain things to students in terms they will understand. Go to SI, do your homework, and you'll easily pass... you'll just have to work REAL hard for that A.

If you read the textbook and go to class youll do well. Shes clear about is on tests and what she expects from you. You have to work but an A is doable.

Most of your grade is tests and she does not offer extra credit, but her tests are all multiple choice and she is pretty accessible by email. From talking to others, she was one of the easier ACCT225 professors.

McCutchen had the best lectures and powerpoints during class, but she can come across very harsh in her feadback and I think thats why she has such a negative rep. Your grade is basically determined by your exam scores but she does include extra points into the class so its easier to earn the points needed to pass.

In my opinion, Professor McCutchen is by far the best choice for Accounting 225. She is very caring, but the class is extremely fast-paced because of the amount of material that is covered, so she is only so caring. The class is point-based. Homework, quizzes, and attendance are all very important to your success in this class.

Professor McCutchen is clearly very knowledgeable about accounting and wants the best for her students, but do not expect her to make it easy for you to pass this class. I have been a straight a student my entire life and I got my first C in this class. Go. To. Class. And really work on the notes and HW outside of class. It catches up to you fast.

I only went to 1 SI session, and I left early because it wasn't helpful to me. However, other people I know loved S1. Use all the resources available to you, and you should be fine!

ACCT 225 is a class that you have to put the work in on your own. McCutchen is very knowledgeable and is a good teacher, but reading the textbook and doing all the homework is necessary. Mrs. McCutchen is a good choice for ACCT 225, as it is clear she is very knowledgeable and truly cares about her students. However, since her class has about 300 students, it can be very easy to feel like a small fish in a big pond as you will not get the chance to personally know her or ask her for specific help.

Mrs. McCutchen was my favorite profesor this semester. She is very kind and makes an effort to talk to her students. The class as a whole is hard, and SI sessions help a lot. This class gets a bad rep for no reason. Dont blame the professor if youre failing cuz there are plenty of chances for extra credit and extra help. I went to almost every SI session and passed with flying colors. Put in the work and it will pay off. Also reading the textbook helps. Study hard for the tests.

I took McCutchen during the spring semester of COVID and all I can say is that if you want to get a solid A, be prepared to not go out and study for hours on end. Will it be worth it in the end, yes. Quizzes and Homeworks were fine but they took a lot of tries. Average on exams were high or low 70's. This class requires effort but it's worth it!

A lot of people rate her poorly but if you put in the effort for her class, McCutchen will teach you a lot and you'll get a good grade. She cares about her students succeeding and provides a lot of resources as long as you take advantage of them. There are lots of homework's and quizzes that are EASY 100s and they help a lot to prepare for the exam. As long as you study and put in the work (don't wait till the night before) you will do well.

If you pay attention to her class you'll do well in it, most people spend a lot of her class on their phones so if you just listen you'll be ok. She has one homework assignment and one quiz each week but they're both basically guaranteed 100s. Just don't procrastinate studying for her tests, they're not hard but it's a lot of information.

I had heard many horror stories but once I took her class she's a great teacher. She makes sure her students know the content and is very interactive. Although the class is A LOT of work. The content in this class can be hard to get a hang of, but Mccutchen takes notes alongside you throughout class, so you will have everything she wants you to know for the exams. She is pretty strict with attendance, but it is hard to miss a day and catch up. Highly recommend taking her if you haven't worked with accounting before.

I loved McCutchen, she is very sweet and genuinely wants each of her students to succeed. You will not leave any of her classes without learning something. She uses iClicker for attendance. Everything on her exams are concepts she directly mentioned in class. Go to an SI session if you struggle, the test reviews are so helpful.

Many criticize her, but I think she's a great teacher who will challenge you. If you don't read the chapters or do the homework honestly, you won't pass. The exams are short, which is nice, and she always tells you what to study. Use all the resources she provides if you're struggling.

Mrs. McCutchen was a great teacher. I had to retake this course from last semester and the difference in my grade is crazy. She is very strict about coming to class, but as long as you pay attention to her notes which she hand writes, and do the homework there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. Her tests are exactly how she says they will be too.

I personally had an amazing experience with this class and her as a whole. She likes to engage with students if you get to class early which makes you feel connected. Yes, attendance does matter and there's a lot of homework and quizzes but I didn't find this class hard at all.

Great proffessor

Ms. McCutchen was an amazing professor! Her lectures were really engaging and she was great at teaching accounting. It is a tough class, but she works through practice problems with you and there are a lot of resources she provides to help you! Do all the practice you can.

McCutchen was a great professor, honestly, one of my favorites. The class is made to be difficult and as long as you did the work required, paid attention in class, and studied for the exams it should be easy to achieve an A in this class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She does a great job with her lectures, and they are very engaging. Accounting itself is difficult to understand but she offers resources, credit, and many practice problems in class. If you study for the tests, take notes, and pay attention in class it is not too hard to get a good grade.

She is a great professor and could not recommend her enough. She has great lectures that help you with such a difficult class. If you do all her assignments, go to class and submit on time it is such a easy class. She also loves to engage with her students and get to know them.

She's a really good teacher. She explains at the beginning that you have to read the textbook to do well in the class because she doesn't have enough time to go over everything during the lectures. She does practice problems in class a lot. Attendance is also mandatory; she makes you sign in every class. Her tests are also really straightforward.

I personally loved her which people tend to have very mixed feelings but she's honestly just being real and wants her students to succeed and will be brutally honest that you need to prepare for class besides just the work she assigns. The SI sessions are extremely helpful and exam 2 is the one I got a C on and is the hardest. Exam 3 and final easy

Honestly she was a really good teacher but make sure to pay attention to what she says in class and the practice problems she does, because 9 times out of 10 the ones on the test were almost identical. The SI sessions are life saving, I went from getting a 55 on Test 1 to a 85 on Test 3.
