Easy professor. A lot of tedious work required compared to other Psych classes. lots of exams and papers.

1 article review, 1 10 pages research paper, 4 tests, she gives review sheet, it is not that hard. easy going, sometimes moody, i learned alot from the class, i got A

she is really nice just dont leave ur cell on in class or she will flip.her tests are not bad but u have to study. she gives a review sheet before each test

Great class. Prof. McDermott really knows her stuff. She is funny and caring. FYI.. This class is recommended for transfer to Montclair State (education majors)so take her if you need it. WARNING: Make sure your cell phone is turned off! That's the one thing that really annoys her. Pay attention, take notes, and you'll get an A. GOOD LUCK ;)

She is beautiful inside and out! She has an exreme knowledge on what she's teaching and she is great. If you are interested to learn, try her! You will have a great experience:)

She is great! She is fun and makes the class fun too. You'll laugh a lot in her class, but at the same time you'll learn a lot. Easiest professor I've had. Explains everything, helps everyone, easy tests and reviews for them, VERY FUNNY and curses a lot!!!!! GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!

What a great experience. This professor changed by opinion on psychology change completley. She has great knowledge of all the areas discussed. Extremley helpful in any sense and is very very understanding. She was fun and was pleasure to have had as a teacher. An easy A is you go to class. SHE IS AWESOME, TAKE HER :)

Great teacher. One of BCC's best NO STRESS! is her motto. Makes Statistics easy and fun. I had her for Summer I . She knows her stuff and makes it an interesting subject to learn. Brings lots of candy on test day because she says sugar helps you think better. Take her for any subject. She knows how to teach.

She make psych interesting, she's a great lady, and she never keeps the class there for more time than they should have to be there. Tests are hard if you don't read the text.

Usually on this site, words like "funny" and "cool" are synonymous with "outrageously unprofessional." McDermott manages to be funny, cool, AND professional. She's also organized, clear, and interesting. I'm running out of adjectives, so just take her already and see for yourself how much you'll get out of McDermott's class. (A lot).

she is an awesome teacher funny as hell! But you have to read the book! she lets you out early alot makes sure you take notes and go to class!! I would take her again!

Awesome teacher, i'm extremely glad i have her for psyc. She keeps the class engaged. Unlike most teachers, she doesn't pick favorites and treats everyone as equals. Incredibly funny, sarcastic, and really intelligent. In order to do well on tests you must take good notes! Everyone take at least one psychology class with her!

This was the only class that I have not skipped this semester. She made me interested in the subject and I actually studied. She teaches with a great attitude and with humor. Her tests require you to read the book, but she gives you a study guide before every exam with all the terms you need to know. She also drops your lowest test and no hw ever!

This people below are just lazy as hell, I got an A in the class because I took good notes. The class wasn't demanding at all, and the multiple choice question are easy. I studied an hour before the test and never got below a B. College is mostly about doing independent outside work,and so get used to it.

She was the BEST!!! Easy to understand, very funny, review sheets for every test, always answers emails, she even gave us a study packet of notes for the final! Very understanding and helpful! Take her you'll learn alot!!!

Such a good teacher! You'll never want to miss a class with her! Not only is she funny as !#@@, she makes the stuff so easy to understand!! You gotta read the book, but she covers most of the stuff there and gives lots of examples so that you can relate the material to reality. She gives a review sheet a week before the tests too.

What an awesome teacher! She's really cool and funny. This is the only class I look forward to going to! 4 tests, 1 2 page paper & a group project. Classes are discussions. REALLY COOL. Lots of fun. And I'm actually learning something!

i miss her! had her last semester, it was the only class i looked forward to. she makes learning fun and easy, swears a lot, explains things in stoner terms. go to class, listen, take notes, and know everything on the review sheet. the tests are soo easy. 5 tests - drops lowest score. Very insightful class, especially in regards to Freudian theory and all the minconceptions people have on him. Easy class as long as you study hard and read the text. TEXT IS A MUST, and make sure you read it, considering that's the only homework you get, unless she asks you to write a single page essay for a test.

she is one of the kinds teacher i have ever taken.we had with final 6exams.3extra credits project that she gives a name of a movie to watch and write at least one page of what was going on so you wouldnt keep your grade below than A.take notes while she is talking.you need book to study for the exam the answers will be on the sides of the book.

LOVED HER! test r really easy n no trick guestions as long as u take good notes n read a little form the chapters u will b good n even if u dont read the chapters u should get at least a b just off the notes..she is the best n very funny gives good examples of what she teaches and makes things easy to remember..im taking her again :)

Shannon is a funny lady and her class is ridiculously easy. Test are multiple-choice and note-based. You might have to write an article review, but she walks you through the process very well. The only bad thing about her class is that it's so easy that there's not much to learn. Take her class if you need an "easy A."

hey i took human relations psy with her and i loved it!! loved this professor well the is class there is no books!!! tis mainly talking!! she gives you some articles read them take test on them very very easy watch 2 movies you wouldnt believe from the list that you get awesome movies pick any two write a 2 page paper!& do a 5min speech! very easy

First prof i actually liked at Bergen,Hilarious,very helpful,gives you notes and handouts to study from,just pay attention and you do great i got a B without studying.Always has candy on days of exam,lol. Actually makes you like the subject,awesome prof.

I have taken her for several psychology classes and she is amazing. She makes everything a lot of fun. You take notes but you don't need the book. You still learn a great deal though. Take her, she is absolutely amazing!

Awesome, absolutely great professor. She's the one person I know who is easy enough to open up to and ask for advice, yet professional and intelligent enough to provide it. Her class is very easy, just be sure to pay attention and bring your sweet tooth to her exams. Also, if you've got sensitive ears, you'll take awhile to get used to her.

I was able to Google the study sheet and not use the textbook. She usually doesn't keep you for 3 hours. It's easy to be on her good side, but her bad side is hell. Tests are really easy. Attendance policy isn't strict. Easy A.

Coool Teacher if you attend the classes you can guarantee almost 80% of your testes.

Best Prof I've ever had at BCC! I don't know what some of these people are talking about, but she's a really good teacher! Gives 5 tests, drops one grade, gives a review sheet that she covers about 80% of, the rest you got to look up in the book. She gives lots of examples that make sence so she's easy to understand. And really helpful!Ilearnedalot

Mcdermott is the only professor that I have ever had that doesn't put me to sleep with her lectures. She keeps you entertained and you learn alot. Plus all her tests are multiple choice. Take good notes and review book and you r good.

I'd like to know what classes the students were in who said she is bad and taught themselves. what she taught me I could only learn from a knowledgable person. she is a great educator,and knows how to keep her class interested. I think those who said bad things were in another class or planet. She is terrific.

If you are looking for an easy A take her class. However if you are interested in the subject of Psychology and actually want to learn something.. Don't take her. My personal opinion going to her class was a complete waste of time and gas

She is amazing! she actually makes you want to sit in that class rather then fall asleep like many other classes.shes funny and real with everyone. she is very helpful.yes she gets anoyed with stupid questions but you shouldn't be asking those anyways.I would take that class over 100 more times.TAKE HER!!!

Greatest teacher ive had...had no interest in psychology until i took her class...she made it easy and fun to learn...she had a way of teaching the material that made you understand...absolute bullsh*t that they fired her...she was the best!!!

She's awesome. Her lectures are actually interesting and she tells some funny stories. The tests are not hard if you study. Not a lot of notes. Barely any homework. Tests are all multiple choice and if she gives an essay on the test, she'll email the essay assignment & she gives you candy on test day.

She's not the easiest professor, but you learn a lot from her lectures. Just study the notes and definitions and you'll do good on the tests

McDermott is actually cool even though she may come off differently. She's very comfortable with speaking with students but she lets you know from the start. If you get offended easily don't take the class. She would cancel class a lot then give random assignments due for the next class. Overall good class. Oh and she gives candy before every test!

She's a really cool professor. She covers about 90% of what's on the tests in class and you just got to self teach for the other 10%.. Notes were about only 10 pages of my notebook for the whole semester. Her lectures aren't boring. Take her!

Amazing professor! she gives candies before tests and applies real life to the material! A little unique in teaching style and can relate to students. Best class I took all semester!! Looked forward to both classes every week!

Professor McD is the best! She is very fair and very interesting! Wish she taught another class so I could take her again!

She is one of the best professors at BCC. She knows what she's doing, she's cool and calm. She is fair, so you will take what you give. Her lectures are great, so you will naturally pay attention to her class even if you have no interest in that subject. Best thing is, her lectures are fun and SHORT. If you study, you will get A. Must take her!

Five tests- if you get a's on the first four then dont have to take the fifth, she gives you a study guide in the beginning, she gives you a printable version of the notes before the test, the study guide is the test; can be absent 4 times without losing credit, but you barely have class to go to; she canceled like half the assigned classes.

McDermott was awesome. This class is an easy A and she is really funny because of the way she curses and doesn't even care. I like how McDermott is laid back and gives out free candy before each test. You also have a shot to not have to take the final exam if your grade is an A.
