Easy class if you do the work and take notes from the informative slideshows she provides. HW is online and is time consuming and doesn't really help when it comes to studying for test. But you need to do the HW to pass. Only three online test taken where ever, EASY if you took notes. Gives attendance extra credit. Lab was easy and interesting.

She was awesome, I am a senior and left all my sciences for last minute... That is how much I wanted to take this, but I was pleasantly surprised about her class. I enjoyed it, learned a lot and she will post a good review for the tests. Nothing too technical and no crazy math or chemistry involved, perfect if you want to avoid the other sciences.

Go to lecture and sit up front and listen. If you sit in the back, you're wasting your time. She's sarcastic AF but pretty funny. Her tests are through respondus but if you go to lecture and the review lecture before the tests, you should be golden. She takes attendance and each time you sign in counts for an additional point towards your final.

I like her. She is funny and will crack some jokes. You don't have to show up to class, however she gives extra credit randomly. All her tests are online and at home. They are really easy.

Dr Wells is wickedly entertaining. Her lectures are clear and informative. Even though I'm a business major, I really enjoyed her class. This course can be an easy A if you apply yourself. Homework and tests are online. Lecture slides are on blackboard, but don't have all the content discussed in the lecture. Go to the lectures. You'll feel better

This is an EASY class. I am so confused by all the complaints. She gives ONLINE tests 4 times, and assigns some online homework and gives us weeks to do. The only difficult part is lab. Attendance to the lectures are not required, but you get some bonus points when you show up. I didn't go to lecture and the class was a breeze. The professor is fun

The class is "easy" but she's kinda mean to be honest. teaches well. The professor has online homework due like once a month, as of this semester, attendance wasn't mandatory, but people were barely attending so she randomly would take attendance. Her exams are online BUT THEY USE LOCKDOWN Browser (look up what that is if you dont know TRUST ME)

An important class considering the current conditions of the world. Dr Wells does an excellent job of articulating the material and doesn't just read the slides (very rare!). The course is very information dense and therein lies the difficult for most people. Show, up, ask questions, the lectures are entertaining and worthwhile. :)

This will probably be the best general education science course you'll take. She is thorough with the material and basically lays out what's going on the tests. You don't need the textbook, but you WILL need the code for the homework. If you get less than a B+ in this class, then I feel bad for you.

everyone who rated her bad probably are morons. she has to be the easiest professor on this campus , a 5th grader can take this class and pass. Just do your homework and GO TO LAB and youll get an A .

Recommended to take additional notes with your slides. you have homework to do online and your exams are also online. Attend all your labs. You will have 4 exams in lecture and 2 exams in lab. Lab is worth a 1/4 of your overall grade and miss three labs and you fail the entire course.

Online homework is easy. I thought she was a really good lecturer and enjoyed her class. Powerpoints are online but this class is an easy A if you attend class. No papers, test reviews in class.

I go to all of her classes because you get extra credit if you do. She's nice and funny(sometimes), but also knows her stuff. Easiest class I've taken so far would be really hard to fail this class. 3 essays (AT HOME), 2 essays in the lab(GO TO ALL LABS), all of the homework is online so check daily. Definitely would take her again!

She is very nice and makes oceanography fun. The tests are online and she is really good to work with. If you show up and do your homework online (which is pretty easy) you will be fine.

Dr. Wells has a sarcastic sense of humor that took me a minute to get used to but she is really a great teacher. Her lectures break down the concepts so everyone can understand. She likes to joke around a bit but she is never rude or boring. She has a study session before each exam and the homework and tests are easy if you watch the study videos.

Overall she was a great professor and if you put in effort , you should achieve an A or B easy !

She means what she says, so don't test her. Follow instructions, participate in class, and do your work - you'll pass. She calls out disruptive students, so don't be rude (on your phone, side convos, etc.) If she can tell that you're not really trying, she doesn't care about your excuses - don't play games with her. I loved having her as my prof!

I took Professor Wells for an accelerated class during summer. There was quite a bit of work involved and reading but if you keep up with it, it's not overwhelming at all. She gives good feedback too, just be sure to answer all parts of the questions. I skimmed the chapters and read her power points and did fine.

Attendance is not required, although she does give some in class assignments but they are sometimes used for extra credit. Test answers are on quizlet, and complete your mastering oceanography for homework grades. Lab is easy, but if you skip 3 times you fail.

Honestly only went to class twice and that was just the first week. All exams are online so its pretty easy to pass. Didnt have her as my lab (I heard she was hard there) and they were pretty easy. Cant tell you anything about her lol but the class was easy

Read the online textbook, it'll help! Science is my weakest subject, but Professor Wells helped me to understand the material better. The practice homework assignments can be time consuming at times, but they'll help you with the tests.

Professor Wells is amazing. I see alot of posts saying she is rude, but she is not at all. She has made online class SO easy and organized. You know everything ahead of time and her lecture videos are awesome. She responds to emails quickly and answers any and every question. Take her, she is great.

Great prof - online class with her is so easy. Only downside for the class is that for the labs TA's are in charge and half of them don't know what theyre doing and never respond to emails.

I'm horrible at science, but she goes into detail to dumb it down or simplify things. There's a textbook, but the lectures go over that stuff, so it isn't needed. She puts some little stuff on from the tb on tests, but you don't really need it. She's a funny person and really helpful. Just a great teacher.

GREAT professor to have, very easy to work with and will help you with anything you need in order to pass her class the first time. She's really caring and understanding!!

Generally the same stuff every week-- An online assignment, a discussion board and reading the textbook. Not much to say since it was an online class.

Discussion boards are the hardest part to keep up with. Masterings are easy. Tests are pretty easy if you watch the lectures and read.

Ms. Wells is not only a good teacher who gives you immediate feedback; but she's also hilarious, every class she cracks at least one good joke. I'd recommend taking oceanography with Ms. Wells, it's worth your time.

Professor Dr. Wells is a really good teacher. she cares about her students by giving them lots of opportunities to pass. I even was able to get a review session with her to discuss the questions of one of my failed tests. She does talk fast in the lectures so its hard to write everything down, but it is best to learn from her, not the textbook.

Professor Wells is my favorite professor thus far. Her lectures are so funny and she goes further into depth on the PowerPoint in class. Attendance is optional but she occasionally gives out in-class classwork that is not posted online, so if you don't show up you don't get the grade. She's very sweet and understanding. Definitely take her class!

Awesome teacher! Her lectures were great and easy to follow, very knowledgeable on oceanography. Come to class because she gives classwork some days. Tests are easy as long as you take notes and study, there are also weekly assignments but those are easy too if you take notes. Overall, a great course to take if you need science.

Dr Wells was a great professor. She really took the time to ask the students what they needed for them to be successful in the course and I liked that. She doesn't really give lots of work and all quizzes and the final exam was online and were pretty easy if you studied and completed the homework. I would suggest that you take this course!

For someone who isn't great with science, then I recommend professor Wells. She helps you and gives great feedback. I recommend showing up for class and paying attention. 10/10 would recommend!

She gives great lectures that are straight to the point and are pretty easy to understand. She also is pretty personable and won't be afraid to make a few jokes with the entire class, however, sometimes she can get a bit heated but for the most part shes pretty level headed. Tests are online and not too hard and the lab was one of the easiest

Dr. Wells is the best lecturer I've had at ODU. If you just want to talk with your friends and disturb the class, she won't hesitate to tell you to shut up or kick you out (rightly so). However, if you can act like an adult and even slightly pay attention, you'll learn a lot of cool stuff and have a good time doing it. I highly recommend her.

She's awesome and really knows her stuff. Just pay attention and study and you should be able to complete the homework assignments. They are very interactive so keep up with the textbook. Science is a TON of info crammed into the semester so be prepared to study actively. It can get overwhelming especially if you dont like science, but you got it.

She is a great professor. Pros: -Great class if you want to meet your science requirement. -You will learn a lot that opens your eyes about the local environment. -Class requirements are pretty clear. Cons: -The class sizes are very large. -Labs tend to vary widely in difficulty.

This is the easiest science class at ODU. As long as you show up to the labs, (which are mandatory) then you will be fine. She is very nice, but if you act like your in Highschool, she has no problem kicking you out of the class. Overall, I 100% recommend taking her class.

Lectures are full of pictures which makes them not so boring. Test and homework are pretty easy. A couple of pop quizzes here and there but all of them were participation grades. As long as you don't MISS ANY homework ASSIGNMENTS or exams, you'll do fine. Class is easy with minimal effort. Professor Wells is very sarcastic and funny.

Her lectures are kind of repetitive which makes the class seems longer than what it is. She gives surprise classwork for an attendance grade every blue moon. All other homework and test are online. As far as her teaching and her as a person she's easy to get along with just don't push her buttons.

She talks kind of slowly, but it makes it easier to understand. The tests are difficult if you don't remember everything she says in lectures. She gives surprise classwork to get more people to show up to class which can be done individually or in a group. This is the easiest and most interesting science class at ODU.

Professor Wells is not a hard professor her class is actually fun she does give out surprise group work and assignments to get more people involved other than that I would say you can miss her class a few times without missing that much but you only really have to focus on lab and not late work is accepted for her class and the test are long.

Attendance is MANDATORY. She is hilarious so it makes it worth it. There are pop-up quizzes with no prior warning, they are worth 10-20 points each. She is a respected professor and respect you if you respect her. Did I mention she's hilarious? and will call people out in lectures in a funny way.

Professor Wells is hilarious! I loved listening to her lectures she made the class fun. Her work was not hard to understand and she helps you where you need it and shes great at what she does!

Professor Wells' lecture is very content heavy, and online assignments are easy to get through. Do not get smart with her, she is very snarky and thrives on having the upper hand. Occasional random group work should be expected. If you're a student athlete she will call you out when she's feeling comedic.

The class was easy, and the lecture was entertaining. The tests were online, and the class was canceled for the day to give you time, which was very nice in a busy schedule. Reminded you about assignment due dates. Had pop assignments, but they were not weighted very heavily if you did poorly on them. The professor wants you to succeed.

Well structured course and coursework that isn't very demanding. Attend class and listen and pay attention and you should pass with an A.

This class was a big lecture hall with about 40 or more students. This class was in fact easy she had online tests and homework, which made it easier. All you do is read a giant online textbook and answer the homework she puts all the homework due at the same time which can be a problem for procrastinators. The only hard part of this class is lab.
