Dr. Rwykin is a saint! People get intimidated with her method of teaching, She is straight-up like six o'clock. Her exams are exactly like what she tells you to study. i would recommend her to anyone. Just try her and see what I'm talking about. SHE'S THE BOMB! (SMILE)

She is a wonderful professor, I'd have to agree with the previous poster, she is Straightforward!!! Prof. Rywkin was so...nice...and I consider her like my mentor!!!

I absolutely love this teacher....you can go in not knowing a thing about chemistry and I pormise you when you leave you definitely will have a better outlook on things.......she even gives out study guides for each chapter and her test are very straight forward...no surprises.......take her....you won't be sorry..:)

she tells u every single question that will b on the test including practice examples...they r mc...thought the tests got harder towards the final..she also gives xtra credit..do those bc they will b mandatory on the final exam questions!! if u study and do the homework u will b fine..attendance not mandatory for lecture but u should go

Really great professor. Comical and friendly. Four tests, drops the lowest grade and goes through each question on the exams. Do your work, study and you'll be fine.

She is very helpful; she makes things so easy to understand or at least she would try to give you an example, I was the one who always bothering her with all the questions in class but she never got angry but answered my question very nicely. she gave me an A as the final grade. I highly recommand her. NO text books, just study her review and notes

I took her last semester for che 122. She is very easy. I mean if you want to get an A you have to read the notes which she gives thru black board and power point. In lab she is the oposit. A diff person in lab not to helpful and leaves room. She tells you what will be on the exam plus she gave hw that were study guides to understanding the work.

Take prof Rywkan if you have trouble with chemistry.She gives a review exam before every exam. Her exams are quite similar to the review exam. She is a great person and a Great professor. She uses Power point and makes the course material very easy. She is kind of tough with the labs. Study and you will be ok. Textbook use mandatory.

This professor seems very tough at first, but is easy. She made Chem 122, a lot easier than it was. She gives great reviews, and puts the same info on the exam. You dont need the book in her class. Just read the powerpoints and go to her review, and u will get the A.

good teacher! Knows the material. Test are on what she teaches. Gives reviews before tests. Study the slides and handouts from class and you will do well. You must attend class,a lot of material is covered in each class. Good teacher,no guessing of what she wants you to know!

Rywkin is my fav professor by far. The material can be challengning, but if you ask for further explanation you'll get it. Study groups for this class is necessary! But she let's you know (? for ?) what's gonna be on the exam. Labs are easy! Her sense of humor may seem mean, but I loved it (and her!)

I took Professor Rywkin this summer for Chem 121 and I'm glad I didn't listen to any of the negative comments that some students wrote about her. I think she gets annoyed with students who ask obvious questions and she's aware of those who are not reading there books or doing there work. I ended up with an A but I can tell you I utilized my books

Prof Rywkin is extremely dedicated to the well being of her students. Her course materials are well put together & clear. She makes excellent use of BlackBoard & ensures that her students are well prepared for tests before hand. Strict on labs (it's science, naturally). I 1000% HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!! Very fun teacher too.. We all passed her class!

She was very helpful and caring when I took her class last semester. If you do not do your work as with any class you will not pass. She gives you all the lecture notes in blackboard and show us how to solve problems. You do not need a textbook. Review everything she has on Blackboard and you will pass.

If you pay attention during her review, you will pass. If you do the homework (focusing on her review questions), you will get a A. I didn't listen to the reviews on this site and I'm glad. It is my impression that if you miss several classes/labs, disregard her review, naturally, this will be a difficult course.

Prof. Rywkin is the best teacher to take for Chem. She could be mean and intimidating, but you will get over it. During labs she does disappear but it doesn't really matter, because when she is there, she's pretty much invisible. she gives soo many chances to get an A, maybe too many, not that I'm complaining of course :-D. she's a MUST TAKE!!

Prof. Rywkin goes to great lengths to provide people with the information from the book. She'll give extra tests and labs are not hard. Make sure to join a study group from your class and go to the tutor often and you'll be fine. I really need to repeat the need for a study group and tutor. Don't skimp on these. She is tough, but willing to help.

This professor is crystal clear with her expectations. Study what she teaches and you will get a good grade. She is not tricky. Labs are important and she will close the door if you ar late. If you do not identify the unknowns you will get a C for the lab.

The most amazing teacher ever! She made me want to pursue chemistry, she is inspirational, and probably the best professor you will have. She expects a lot of you and expects you to know what you cover in class. The experiments are so much fun, and she makes the class a delight. Take her and you will do wonderful, I learned so much because of her!!

This Professor is Brilliant! I was very scared before I took this class but she made me love Chemistry! She is professional and helpful! She gives a lot of work but it will help you understand. A very fun class! Wish I could take her again in the future. If you follow her instructions you will do great on her tests.

I usually only comment on bad professors lol. This good review is overdue. Her lectures are clear and understandable and she gives lots of practice material for tests. My only complaint is that she is kind of unapproachable. All in all I learned so much from this professor. She is highly recommended. Took her in Spring 14.

At first I was dreaded to take this Prof due to some negative comments that I read. Now I am sooo glad that I ignored them! Prof Shanti is more than clear on what she expects from her students, Gives LOTS of practice problems and GREAT exam reviews! 5 exams drops the lowest! Also, she is NOT unapproachable, were you guys drinking? A+ Professor.

She's an easy professor because she doesn't seem to care about her students. She assigns the occasional hw and her exams are reasonable. Read the textbook and you should get an A. By the way she knows very well what she's talking about, she is a genius when it comes to Chemistry.

the review sheets are everything, know how to do them and you will get a 100 on every test. she lectures great, and very caring. she gives you a second chance if you almost failed the test.

Dr. Rywkin is a real gem. she is one of the most caring professors ive known. she tries to make the class easy by telling us whats exactly going to come in her tests. literally all you gotta do is study her review sheets. she lectures great and does a demo of every lab. she tries to make the class light by cracking jokes in between!

Shes great !!! You can definitely get an A in her class there is no doubt !!!! Just make sure you do her practice exams because those help a lot for the actual exams. DO THEM !! You will get an A on all exams !! She does not accept late labs !!! So remember to always bring your lab in when its due because you wont be able to hand it in later !

I was so scared to take this professor after reading all the reviews and how hard she is. But now I am happy that I chose her, she is a gem, she is precisely clear with everything that she is expecting from you. Yes, she is giving a lot of homework, and you have to spend a tone of time to make it. Be ready to work hard, but if you do you will get A

I took this class for spring 2020. You must arrive early to class if you don't she will not let you in. It's weird people give her a bad rating, I guess they are just lazy students. Overall, it's easy to get an A in her class just do your work and you're bound to get a B or higher.

Just wanted to add this as to clear up the reputation that Professor Rywkin is building on here. She's not a bad professor. Sure she was demanding on her 30-40 question hw per chapter, but I can attest that I learned. The labs are demanding as well and you're not bound to get full credit, but she'll take your effort into consideration in the end.

This professor was one on the kindest chemistry professors. She has clear but not unreasonable expectations. Ask for things. We asked for an open book exam and she gave it!. Her lectures are awesome and good reviews for exams. She also dropped 2 of the lowest exams and 2 lowest lab grades. Had 4 HW assignments. Labs are important

A very helpful and caring teacher. I had problems and she worked with me and I was able to pass. She gave makeup exams for the ones I missed. Her exam reviews are very good. But she does not accept late discussion board entries. She is not test heavy and gives credit for a lot of in class work

Yes Professor Rywkin is not an easy professor to take HOWEVER the way she explains her lectures is phenominal. she makes sure you understand. the only reason it is difficult is because her tests are hard are require you to actually study. If youre prepping to transfer, this is the level you should be at. i have learned so muc. so grateful- Sera

I like professor's grading system. if you do the work, there's no way you'll get bad grades. I really enjoyed her class. STUDY the test review and you'll do great on the actual test. The majority of your points come from lab reports (in-class group work), lab hw, DB..I didn't do good on some tests but 2 lowest scores get dropped..highly recommend

Overall she's a good profs. Do your work, study for the quizzes and be present.

TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU NEED IT FOR CREDIT! She came off as harsh to me. If you do lab and discussion board's you will pass with at least a C because they make up most your grade. Attendance matters for lab credit. The 4 exams aren't weighted too much in your grade, but still watch her review videos. She drops the lowest score on everything.

You'll love this professor's grading system.(Best of 10 DB@3 points = 30) + (Best of 10 Labs@ 4 points = 40) + (Best 3 of 4 exams w good in depth reviews@10 points = 30) She's very strict with coming in on time and can be sometimes harsh on students but I recommend her regardless because it's bearable she's an easy A if u put in the effort.

Professor Shanti Rywkin is an outstanding educator. She made the learning process accessible and fascinating. Her clear explanations and engaging lectures make complex concepts easy to understand. If you need Che121 take this professor you will not be disappointed, grading system is awesome quiz review for all quizzes , she pin point all important detail in her lecture. Attendance very important and assignments.

She provides clear guidance and answers all questions. The grading is fair. If you perform well on the first four quizzes and labs, you will not need to take the last two quizzes or attend the final lab, as only the best four out of six quizzes count toward your grade. It is important to watch the quiz review videos. Don't be late for labs.
