Stay on your toes! All Math 100 courses go fast. She is basically friendly, wants her students to do good. Sometimes goes too fast when explaining a concept. Welcomes questions though. Only provlem, she needs to better guage where her students are, and spend more time right before tests on review.

Excellent teacher! Teaches the concept thouroughly and welcomes questions. The tests are straight-forward and require you to understand how to do a problem. If you attend the lectures and do the HW regularly, it is an easy "A". Shar is very approachable and willing to help. Highly recommended! :)

WONDERFUL! Shar is the best math instructor at ARC. She is very organized and has neat handwriting on the chalk board. Her lectures never lose focus. Tests and quizzes are straightforward, and she always is available to answer questions. If I had to take another math class I'd take it with her.

If you wrote bad things you must be a slacker because shes very clear and gives you everything you need for the tests. Shar is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is willing to put forth as much effort as you are. You are the one that determines the outcome of your grade, not Shar. She is the kindest and most caring person when it comes to her students. AND...she is NOT geeky looking! If I had my way, she waould be my teacher for all my math classes.

"Time for a little fun with math!" I loved her... she was a great teacher and made little jokes here and there which kept the class interesting. I didn't like the way she said plussed/minused/timesed instead of added/subtracted/multiplied. Don't get me wrong though, she was GREAT and I'd highly recommend her!!

Shar is an awesome teacher. She has a sense of humor and structure in her teaching. She is clear in her lectures and helpful during classwork. There will be a lot of assignments on MathXL but they're fairly easy considering all the help from the website. Just do the work and somewhat pass the tests and you'll be fine.

This class was hard for me as I am not a great math student. However, Shar wants all of her students to do well and will do her best to help you. Show up to class on time and stay the entire class. Do your homework. Ask for help in her office hours if you need it. She is more than willing to help you but you have to WANT and TRY to succeed!

I would highly recommend her. She is very helpful and makes math very easy to understand. She is fun, stays on topic and makes sure teh whole class has got the lecture. Gives a sample exam which is very similar to the test, can get an A/ B if you do the HW and practice her sample test. Highly recommened

Best algebra class if you are willing to do the work and not expect a free ride. Don't expect to coast through the semester, get a 79.3 and figure you're gonna get extra credit to pull a B. Won't happen!

Teacher made the material easier to understand compared to the book. Lots of homework. Gives quizes that are not announced. Teacher makes you feel uncomfortable to approach her for questions or participate in class. She likes to say it outloud when you make a mistake. Overall, class is definately not bad.

Just started the Spring semester class. Shar is a great teacher. I may not understand the textbook but after Shar lectures I do understand. Good sense of humor. I do not know what others were talking about: Shar is very approachable, not sarcastic and she remembers names! She does not favor the guys. And there is something very beautiful about her.

Class is taught very well. Clear, straight forward, and very predictable. She is very willing to help during office hours. Very strict on punctuality and attendance, thus creating a high school feel. Review sheets are excellent and helpful. to get an A show up and on time, listen, and study as she does not spoon feed you the material.

Never had to read the book because the lectures were so straight forward. Only thing is this class was looooong. Do yourself a favor and don't take a 2 hour stats class. The teacher was very nice and all but I will be happy if i never have to hear the words "fun with math" again. lol.

Professor McCarroll is an excellent instructor. Being on time to class is a must. Avoid missing lectures. They are extremely helpful. She explains many processes in an easy to understand format.

I have taken her before and trust me she is not the easiest teacher but she is most certainly the best. Regardless if you're just taking her class to get the GE credit or not, if you really want to learn it then I recommend her to the max. I absolutely hate math and have struggled in it since high school. Shar makes statistics understandable. I couldn't believe how well I picked up the material. I highly recommend her. Make sure you attend class because it is hard to catch up. Her exam study guides are very helpful.

Shar is awesome! This was my second attempt at completing math120 because my previous professor did not believe in calculators, math lab, or anything other than pencil and paper. Shar was completely the opposite. She was well organized and had little sayings that would make the process stick in your head.

"Mind blown!" Shar is definitely one of the best professors at ARC. She has a way of making a seemingly boring subject interesting and her ways of explaining the material really make it stick. You do still have to put the effort in, but you will learn a lot. Highly recommended.

Shar, is perfect for working adults. I used her for all of my MMLC experience except one semester out of five. She is totally understanding of working adults. As long as you to your work and communicate with her, you will be just fine. She is a wonderful Professor. If you don't pass her class, you didn't even try.

Great teacher! No textbook is required because she has great knowledge about the subject, unlike many teachers. MyStatLab is required for hw and quizzes. You actually have to try to learn the material! If you do problems over and over again, you'll get used to it! 3 tests, 1 final! Drops 3 hw & quizzes & lowest test if you do well on the final!

Shar is a great teacher, she's very available and willing to give you help when you need it. But you NEED to get your stuff done on time! I never had any problems with that but I've heard her give a firm talking to to the students who did. As long as you do that, she's great. Even helped me find my phone when I lost it one day!

She teaches extremely well. Her style is simple and efficient! No book because she's just that awesome. HW is on 'mystatlab' which is easy. Just do all your (super easy) assignments on time and study the worksheets before the tests and you'll get an A. I KNOW HOW TO USE THOSE HUGE TI CALCULATORS NOW :D BTW ask her how to rent a calculator for free!

The best math professors I've ever had. She explains so well a 5 year old can understand. I feared statistics but I see that there is nothing to be afraid of. I loved her sarcasm and she uses class time wisely, doesn't take bs from anyone. Shar replaces your lowest test score with your final exam score which was easy btw. Take her!

I was so afraid to take STATS but honestly this professor is hands down one of the best professors I have had at ARC. Definitely cares about her students and them passing. She doesn't really care for you at all, I was sick for an exam and she told me oh well your final exam grade will replace it, when I was so sick she wouldn't just let me take it the next class. Professor Shar, McCarroll is very helpful teacher and cares about student success. She is reliable and help out with problem that you don't understand. Work one on one with student to make easy understand mathematic. If you have a health problem she understand that we are human and gives you opportunities to make up the work, easy teacher.

I took professor McCarroll for math 41-133, yes it's been a journey, but she is a very laid back professor, she explains due dates which are also on the syllabus, she is also really great at responding to emails. If you do your work, go to the math lab when needed, and ask professor McCarroll for help when needed, you will pass

Professor Shar is one of the best math professor. I took her for Algebra and when I found out she teaches Stat 300, I enrolled in her class ASAP. I have no regrets! I learned a lot. English is difficult as it is my second language. However, Shar explains everything very clear and on point. If you put effort, you will do good. Hard work pays off.

I'm pretty bad at math, but stats is not "math". If you learn how to use the stats spreadsheet the homework and tests are a piece of cake. The midterm and final questions come directly from the practice tests. Do not fall behind in class because there is a ton of homework, but if you follow all the prompts it's not difficult to understand.

Cant say enough good things about this lady. She is a great statistics teacher and relates the topics well. Great sense of humor and her tests are reasonable. do the Wiley plus HW and study her review materials and youll do fine. Exams are half multiple choice (from Online HW) and half written response. Dont be late, not even by 30 seconds!

I LOVE Shar! I was worried because I hadn't taken a math class in 2 years and was taking 20 units, but she made stats so easy and fun. She walks the class through problems every class in detail, allows a full page of notes for test, and although theres consistent homework it's always so helpful. I would recommend Shar 10/10. She's amazing.

I took Stats with another professor last semester and had to drop halfway through. Shar is great! Her lectures are clear. She encourages questions and class participation. Homework is both online and in handouts. She drops quite a few of your lowest scores+offers extra credit on the exams. Come to every class and apply yourself and youll do well.

Professor McCarroll is great. She helps you whenever you have questions by emailing back within around 24 hours. She gave helpful sources if you have different learning styles, such as watching videos to reading the textbook and vice versa. Her tests are not hard, they resemble the homework and the media lessons. Her homework is a lot but its fast.

She makes math so easy to learn! video lectures are short and very informational. compared to other math teachers she gives little amount of work. She's always willing to help you too which is essential when it comes to math classes online. Take her class!!

She was a really nice and helpful teacher. She really encourages you to get tutoring. I gave a 3 for difficulty because the workload is heavy. It can be an easy A as long as you do the assignments and understand the material. For me, math comes easy, but if you struggle in math you'll definitely need a tutor or study group to get you through.

I took stats300 with a different professor and had a very difficult time learning what was important so I tried again with professor McCarroll and she is amazing. She gives good feedback on everything and makes the media lessons very clear and easy to learn. I was able to pass with a very good grade because of the way she had her class set up.
