If you compare this class to a restaurant, it's sort of like ordering nice steak and getting a burnt Bubba Burger patty: hard, miserable, and putrid in content. Sharad is the waiter who takes an hour to help your table, so you sit there miserable and helpless. It speaks volumes about the University Math Department that this man is still employed.

Sharad's lectures can be very confusing and hard to follow. He spends a lot of time on certain topics, and explains in way more detail than is necessary. The exams are difficult, and the homework is time consuming, and does not relate to the class. Sharad would be a great grandpa, but not the best professor.

Often over complicates simple concepts. The content was not hard since I had a strong background in trig and algebra. Would not recommend him for someone just starting off because his explainations are a lot more confusing than they need to be. Discussions are helpful. We had a quiz every Tuesday and those are usually similar to the exams.

Sharad is EASILY the worst professor I've had at UW. He comes off as a decent person, but his ability to teach calculus is absolutely horrendous. Our 200 person lecture had about 30 students show up each time, as kids began giving up on his teaching, instead trying to teach themselves. He skims over new topics and assumes you master old ones. I had Professor Chandarana for math 213. Even though the class was supposed to be calc 2, most of the information covered was calc 1 which is good because Chandarana is not a good professor. He does not to a good job of explaining what he is teaching which I found to be frustrating. I would recommend taking from a different professor if possible.

I firmly believe that Sharads teaching of this material has made me dumber. He never explains anything properly, his lectures are endless and boring, and your exam grade probably won't reflect your other grades (If class grades were dependent on quizzes and homework only I'd have an AB. My actual grade is a C). DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

But you make one mistake in the beginning of an exam problem and he takes off 12 of the 20 points, which is a lot when the exams only have 5 questions. Try to talk about getting more points and he shuts you down right away saying you're lucky to have gotten any.
