She gets a little too excited about math but it is better than being dull about it. Difficult at times but she makes it fun. She does NOT give partial credit but the tests are EXACTLY like the problems from the HW.She will tell you EXACTLY what is on the exams. Good overall.

She is the easiest MATH162 teacher at ODU. She tells you EXACTLY what problems are on the test. (Doesn't even change the numbers)But no partial credit. Go to all the classes, do the homework, you will be guaranteed an A or B

I had a hard time with 162 the semester before this. Mrs. Davis is easily the best, most helpful and clearest math teacher I have ever had. Go to class as much as possible and take notes, as most of her test questions come right from the homework and notes!

She is very helpful on the topics and will gladly help you with and problems you may have, plus shes kinda hot.

This professor is on your side. She is not out to trick you. Every day almost she talks about the final from the very beginning, so we know what we need to retain as we move from chapter to chapter. SHE is great.

This teacher is passionate about math and is good at explaining it. She can make someone who completely doesn't understand math to get it. Anybody who has rated Mrs. Davis as a bad professor should be ashamed. She breaks down the concepts so well so that people who aren't whizzes at math can understand. I'm pretty good at math, but not the best and I got an A. Just do the homework, study to your liking and ask for help if you need it.

Prof. Davis is very good at teaching math. She is extremely helpful. She gives you every possible chance to do the best that you can. Whatever math class she teaches, be sure and take. Her tests are cumulative so be sure to keep up and study.

Great math professor! If you are terrible at math I would definitley recommend her. She doesn't take attendence but tests are easier if you attend class. Tests are generally very short. She reminds me of Darma from Darma and Greg just because she is so bubbly and happy! Great person and professor!

i hate math personally, but this professor showed me that math doesn't have to be all that difficult. this class is a breeze, just do your homework and come to class. it you do these things you can get a B easily.

Definitely one of my favorite teachers. I have never had an A in math before. She makes the material seem easy and enjoyable, explains math very well and is funny. She likes when students ask questions. I never liked math and now I do. Show up for class, take notes, do homework and you should not need extra help.

Nice and helpful. 3 tests all year. Homework is optional, either way she goes over it in class. Very helpful study guides. She'll basically tell you some of the things on the test during a review session. As long as you go to class and pay attention you should get an easy A.

Great concept on presenting the material...especially for non-Math majors like me. I hate math and have a mental block but she made it simple. Come to class and you will do fine. Known to have open book tests and may drop lowest grade...only if attendance is regular. Class dependent.

This class was SO much fun! If you aren't good at math, she really explains things well. I've always been great at math, but she also challenges you to think past the required material. She has three test altogether, and has only given a couple quizzes to make sure we understood the material. Homework is to help you comprehend, not graded.

Made math really easy and understandable. Class was simple too, four tests, and sometimes you can turn in your practice test and skip the actual one.

By far the best professor I've had! I took her class this summer and she's the best. she makes sure that you understand the material and is willing to stay after class to help you understand one on one. The practice exams that she gives are harder than the exam actual exam. So if you past them your good and she goes over them with the class.

Finally, I have a math professor who works with students on all levels. Even on the first day, Professor Davis illistrated this. She is much better than Melrose and Hooper. I had them for 102,had to drop TWICE and change majors to English. Professor Davis does not mind you using her office hours. This is the only class I need. Take her!

I never was a good student in Math. Last time I received anything higher than a C in Math was in 6th grade. Professor Davis made me want to work hard and try. I'm an English major, but Prof Davis was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She made math so easy and clear that even I got an A. Sometimes for exams she'll let you turn in the practice test and even if you take the exams they're almost the same thing. Such an awesome teacher. Got out early most of the time. Everything she taught was easy to understand and practice tests were replicas of the exams with minor changes. Dropped lowest exam grade so if you do well on the first 3 you don't have to come to classes after that! Highly recommend for 101.

I was terrified of math prior to taking this class. Not anymore. Professor Davis is an exceptional math teacher, and she fully explained each and every chapter, making sure everyone was "okay" before moving on. It's an easy class, but only because she is very patient and takes the time to make sure everyone is on track. Take her. You WILL learn.

This class is soooo easy. Very willing to help her students if they put effort into it. Just attend class and take the notes and do the assigned hw even though she does not grade it. There are 4 tests to determine your grade but they are very easy. I had her 8am class, stay awake or she will give you the boot! haha!!

The class is pretty easy at some points. The only negative thing that I have to say is that she can go off in a tangent sometimes. Overall I advise anyone to take her class.

The course itself is relatively easy, if you have a history of good grades in your math courses. That was not the case with me, so it was a little bit more challenging than I would expect for the lowest math course at ODU. She is a very sweet parent-like teacher. Davis is a very good teacher. She doesn't take attendance, but its really easy to fall behind fast if you skip. I'm horrible in math, but her class was very manageable. I recommend using the math tutoring because she's a bit hard to reach. If you don't understand what she's talking about, use the book! Another bonus, she lets class out early!

Exams are short and easy, Every time you answer a question you get extra credit points but if you miss a class, you're on your own, because she doesnt go over lessons more than once.

Professor Davis changed my entire mind on how much I hated math. She is really easy to follow along with and cares whether her students pass or fail her class. It is really hard to not get an A if you go to class. She puts all her notes online and gives you a practice test before every exam with the right answers and they go right along with test.

No attendance grade but your not able to teach yourself from the book. Her notes and techniques are more clear and easier to comprehend then the text book. She gives you extra credit for partesipation and teaches to the pace of the classes understanding. She makes math fun and relatable.

Make sure you read over notes before class, if you have the answers to her power points you get extra credit. you only get graded for 5 test so extra credit is IMPORTANT. the class is easy because she explains things clearly and she is FUNNY. but don't take lightly so still study.

She's an enthusiastic teacher willing to help you clarify any misunderstanding or confusion. When you participate, you get points that help you out with your grade. Unless you're a math fan, you will have to do the assigned homework. What's on the homework is on the test, with as many as 25 questions, excluding the final. I recommend this class.

I'm not very good at math, but this class was surprisingly clear for me. Professor Davis is really good at what she does and explains it so well that it's easy to understand. She really cares about her students progress and is helpful. But, you have to go to class in order to make a good grade! I missed several days so I only made a C. My fault.

I loved this class. I'm a history major who isn't very good at math so I needed an easy class to get an A in and this class was perfect. You don't have a final in this class and it's literally so easy. If you do well on the first four tests you don't have to go anymore and she gives tons of extra credit.

Ms. Davis was actually in my opinion one of the best math teachers I've had. If you skip class, and or don't pay attention you won't understand what she covers in class next, If you have a question and don't understand what she is teaching she will stop and explain it to you, Doing the homework isn't mandatory but doing it helps you understand.

I hate math. She made it easy and almost fun. Homework was not mandatory, which was good because I didn't want to do any more math than necessary. She explained things in ways that made sense. I was able to ace exams just by showing up to class and listening to her lecture. She is funny and compassionate.

Davis is an amazing professor and I highly recommend taking her. I failed math in HS but did extremely well in this class and I think that says something about her. She explains things really clearly and in a way that you can understand. Every lesson, there is one "extra credit day" where you get extra points on your test if you participate.

Probably the best professor I've ever had. She is fun and makes math fun. All you have to do is listen to how she does the problem and you'll be perfectly fine. If you fail her class then idk what to tell you.

I haven't taken a math class since Junior year and Mrs. Davis made me feel very comfortable. She's very patient and willing to take time out to personally help you understand the material. I also struggled ALOT in high school and to my surprise she made it a fun experience. I really enjoyed her teaching technique. But make sure you come to class!

This is my 6th time taking college algebra and I currently have a B in her class. If that doesn't persuade you to take her class, then I don't know what to tell you. She. Is. Awesome.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PROFESSOR! This is the FIRST time I have ever understood algebra and I feel so proud of myself. She is very good at teaching math and she does not skip any of the steps. I felt like she really cared about if I learned the material, and that encouraged me to study extra hard. She is a must have for students who struggle w math!

Davis is the best Math teacher here. She doesn't take attendance but if you miss class you have to get the notes from a classmate. On test and quizzes she gives partial credit.

Davis is very funny and easy to understand. As long as you show up to her class, pay attention, and study her study guides, you will get an easy A. She gives 4 quizzes but only the 4 highest count, and 5 exams including the final. She never checks the homework, so you only have to do it if you need practice. Best math teacher!

Professor Davis is an awesome instructor and makes math material super accessible for students. She gives you everything you need to excel in her class, including study guides with some of the exact test questions. Those who struggled in her class were the ones who did not attend and/ or did not do homework and practice problems.

Prof. Davis is amazing. If you're not particularly good at math, I recommend her 100%. She's funny, very easy to learn from, and a joy to be in class with. I personally took her 9AM M/W/F, which may be too early for some, but it is a sweet spot to get my day started.

Math is not one of my strengths but Prof. Davis helped me love math more than I ever have in the past! There are some easy pop quizzes and HW. She's always willing to help students. I definitely recommend her!!

Probably one of the best math teachers on campus. She's very understanding. It's not an easy class, but she tries her best to help the students.

She is a wonderful & friendly person! She is funny and keeps you alert during class. You can tell she loves math & always checks after her lecture to make sure you understand. The worst thing about this class is your grade is only based on 4 exams. This could easily bring you down if you are not careful. Overall, I loved her and would take again.

She teaches in a way you can understand the material better. She gives extra credit here and there. We had 4 exams and a final. Attendance wasn't mandatory at all.

I took Profesor Davis' class in the summer. Math is not my strongest area, but she made it easy to learn by explaining the notes and having the notes there for us to go over. Follow what she says to do, which is to look over the notes the night beforehand and print them out before class, and you'll be fine in her class. She has a true love for math

This is an easy class to pass even if you aren't really good in math. She post all the notes and practice test along with the answers on BB within the first day of class. She doesn't take attendance but the way she teaches its easy to understand and its not boring. The textbook is for our homework its not graded its more so for practice. EASY A!!!!

Professor Davis was Fantastic! She's always in a terrific mood despite what's going on in her life. Seriously, the woman could've just come back from fighting in the trenches and you'd never guess it. She knows Math 102M like the back of her hand, and doesn't mess around in class. She teaches the material, then let's you leave if you're good.

I hate math but she did a really good job at making me not hate it as much. I learned a lot.

Prof. Davis presents the material in a clear and organized manner. Come to class every day DO the homework and practice tests and you will have no trouble passing Math 101.

Prof. Davis is an absolute gem! She does a ton of lectures but she is excellent at making sure you understand each topic. I missed a few days of class but she helped me catch up quickly. We were graded mostly on the 4 tests but they were not hard to pass if you attended class and did the homework for extra practice.

Her office is hard to find - its in the ECSB building - across the street behind the houses on the quad. She isn't as helpful as she claims, but is encouraging and occasionally offers extra credit. I would get the textbook because I think she will be using a different textbook that she wrote next semester, though I didn't really use this one.

Just wants us to pass, offers many resources to ensure that you do well in her class. I have never been good at math and I got a 95, as long as you come to class you will pass with flying colors no matter your level of math skills. TAKE HER

Professor Davis is an amazing professor. She is very interactive, offers multiple opportunities for extra help and works with you to see you succeed. Definitely would take her again.

You'll have to partner up in this class if you're expecting to miss a lot because she won't catch you up on her own. She's an amazing teacher who really loves math and will personally help you if you have specific issues. This class helped me relearn the basics of math, and these classes aren't lecture heavy. You just have to do the homework.

She's amaaaazing! If you get the privilege to choose your classes early, add her to your list. I always thought I was bad at math, and that it might make it hard for me to compete my biology major. But she explained things with ease and really works with you. Make sure to do your homework though, or you will fail. Math has to be practiced!!!

She was a very great Professor. I have never been great at math but she rocked it out she was good at explaining and very funny. She is so sweet and kind and smart she knows her amth very well. I would take her over for another math she was that great. Do she study guide anmd let her look over them they are good pratice also do your homework.!!!

I really liked professor Davis. Shes really nice and caring .I took this class as a pre req and Im glad I did . The class is easy . If you show up and pay attention you should do just fine . Only grades for the class are tests so make sure you do well on them.

She is so nice. Gives extra credit out left and right. Easy quizzes and test if you just pay attention in class. I had her Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and she gave us most Fridays off. Very chill and laid back teacher. 100% recommend.

Professor Davis is so enthusiastic about what she teaches and enjoys math. She is always there to help if you are coming to class and trying your best. I highly recommend her because she enjoys what she is doing. All she wants from you is to try and do your best. She creates her own notes instead of going off of the textbook.

This class is definitely based on note-taking and really listening. If you study the exam practice packet and the note packet before every exam, you will pass. She is a good teacher overall and pretty passionate about statistics.

I loved Professor Davis. It is a pretty easy class as long as you pay attention to her lectures (just like in any other class). She really wants everyone to pass and do well in the class. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and will drop your lowest quiz grade. Her lectures are easy to follow as well.

Davis is absolutely amazing, I literally suck at math. If you pay attention to the lectures you will make it through. Her lectures are a godsend. If you pay attention to the lectures you will pass. I am so thankful for her making it easy to learn through COVID.

I am taking all online classes thanks to covid and I have experienced significant difficulties getting used to the switch from in person to online. Professor Davis is probably one of the most helpful and understanding teachers I have ever had. This is the only math class I have ever taken and understood all of the content clearly. Took online and easy A as long as you take notes on the modules and complete my math lab assignments. Quizzes and test are easy as well. Provides extra credit for test reviews with a score of 95 and above.

I took this async. class in the Spring of 2020. I sucked at math in middle & high school (60-80 test grade average) & didn't do so well in the placement test to get into this class. Despite all that, I still got an A in this class. Super easy as long as you put in a real effort. Take notes on textbook & lectures & do assignments & you'll be fine.

I hate math, first and foremost. To that end, I had some difficulty in the class, she's looked out for me a few times with bonus points and opportunities to get a higher grade. She's very approachable and cares.

Professor Davis is great, take her class if you can! There's weekly quizzes but extremely helpful reviews for each quiz. Each exam has a practice exam and review which is also super helpful, she offers lots of extra credit opportunities and really wants you to succeed. Her lectures are very informative, as well as her note packets TAKE HER CLASS!!

Professor Davis is literally the best math teacher I have ever had. This is the first time in my life that I've received an A in a math class. She breaks stuff down and explains it so even if you feel you're the worst at math, you will come out of this class actually feeling like you know math now. I would absolutely take a class with her again.

The best professor I've had so far. Quizzes every weekend but the reviews make the quizzes very easy. She also does reviews for exams. Super fun professor and if you missed a lecture, she always has lectures posted for what she taught that day. Highly recommend this professor!!

Professor Davis is one of the best professors on campus. I did make the mistake of not doing some quizzes on time which gave me a B as my final grade. If you do the quizzes and review the practice test for the exams, you will do fine! Overall, her class was easy and she is a caring professor that is willing to help. Professor Davis was the BEST math teacher I've ever had. Math doesn't come easy for me and I was super nervous to take math at a college level. Professor Davis made it very easy, her lectures were only 30 minutes long and she allowed us to stay back if we needed help. She provided online videos and study guides that helped tremendously with test!

Professor Davis was a great teacher. She offers a lot of extra credit in class. As long as you study for the tests and pass the weekly quizzes it is easy to pass the class. She does give a practice test before each test and they are almost identical to the test. Ask questions during this course if you do not understand or it will be a struggle.

I had her for an online class, it was self-explanatory and quite "easy". I would definitely take this class again.

This class was very easy. She gives extra credit days where you can easily gain a ton of points to add to your exams. The quizzes are easy and the exams are very similar to the test review, so make sure you do it. If you don't miss any exams you don't have to take the final. Class usually lasted less than 30 minutes which was nice.

Best professor at ODU. Had her in Fall 2022 and she was fun to talk to and always went out of her way to help students who needed it. The class was very simple, and attendance is not mandatory, but she was very caring and did everything she could to make sure everyone had good grades.

Homework assignments are not graded, there was a weekly online quiz, and 4 exams. Go to class & pay attention/ask questions and you're just about guaranteed to pass.

SHE IS AMAZING. If you need this math credit, she is the best professor for it. She's so kind and flexible. She offers extra credit too. If you take all 4 exams you can be exempt from the final. Quizzes are not super difficult and tests are straight forward. If you try you will do exceptionally well.

As long as you pay even 50% of your attention to what is taught each class, you'll be fine. Read the notes, do the practice tests, and you're even more set than if you don't. Ask questions if needed and do what you can. Easy enough despite 'critical thinking' being in the class' name.

She is a great professor. I would say the main thing is to make sure to come to class because her attendance is important. Also she may be giving out extra credit on some days, I would say just focus on watching the videos and looking for the practice exams because they are the same as the actual exams. Ms. Davis is really sweet she always smiles. She writes everything on the board if she goes too fast, she will slow down you just have to tell her. If you do not understand you HAVE TO ask her, and she will help you. She likes to end class early, so it gives people who need extra help time to ask questions. Great teachers for freshmen.

This class was not bad. She is super easy-going and gives extra credit opportunities in class, so show up! The test and quizzes are not difficult either.

If you watch the videos she provides and do the practice exams you will be just fine. I really really enjoyed this class and she is an amazing professor.

Ms, Davis was an amazing teacher for intro to math! We were only graded based off of 4 tests, around 18 questions each and if you took the 4 tests you didnt have tot ake the final exam! It was a flipped classroom setup, so you were required to teach yourself the math skills and do the homework, and then come to class to ask questions.

You could really tell that she loved math and teaching. She made sure to explain things simply and never made anyone feel stupid for asking questions. We had practice tests so you would know what to expect on the real test and was available before class to get help if needed.

She has many little quizzes that take maybe 5-10 minutes. The exams and work is often easy. Didn't show up most of year and still passed. I didn't have to look at the text book at all due to the fact she puts her videos of her lectures online. Classes always ends early. Would take again!

I would definitely take this class again! Professor Davis is one of the most caring professors Ive ever met, she consistently took the time to support her students. Her lectures are pretty straightforward, you just have to do your part. But its pretty simple to class the past, just study the materials she gives you.
