I thought she was a fairly good professor. She understood what she was talking about and was able to relay it back to the class very well. I did notice however that she likes action and drama, keep this in mind when you go to write her papers.

I think she is fun and makes the class the funny. she grades really hard but she is a great teacher.Take her class only if you can write an essay with an "attention getter".

She is a nice and funny woman. Class is never boring. She does grade papers strictly, but it is fair. You can rewrite first 2 out of 4 Writing Assignments (easy 20 percent of over all grade). Her midterm exam and in class writing assignments are easy. Movies are great, so are the stories.

Everyone that has a negative view of this teacher obviously never went to class. Shari Koopmann is AMAZING! She is creative, fun, organized and very flexable with her assignments. Great teacher, coming in as a freshman, I wish all my professors would be like her. Very fast at responses, you can check your grade at any time and ask questions or argue about your grade. Very understanding and caring, I was never bored besides when we went over the MLA format. I would take her for ENC 1102 but schedule won't allow. A+ teacher.

She's very relaxed and open-minded! She makes the requirements of all of the assignments very clear, accepts late work, doesn't require attendance, and lets you eat in class. Easiest class EVER! I learned a lot about writing and had a lot of fun in this class, TAKE IT IF YOU CAN! I wish I could have had comp 1 & 2 with her. She's very sweet and PC.

Prof. Koopmann is an excellent professor and is very liberal in her grading policy. There are extra credit opportunities and she announced her office availability right from the start of the semester. She is supportive and her syllabus was followed throughout the semester. She is an excellent coach and her goal was our success.

MidTerm: Prof. Koopmann is extremely nice and funny. So far, we have had 3 papers and 6 quizzes (a monkey could do it all)!!! Mid term exam was so-so. Study the material and you'll do fine.

Awesome Fresh Comp 1 class, was an online flex class. I love how she made all the assignements available from the beginning of class and offered extra credit! Her assignment instructions were very clear and she even provided details on how she grades essays which helped me with writing and editing!

Took her online course for comp 2 and it was harder than i expected. If you do the work and follow her instructions you'll do fine. Online she was not real clear about what she wanted but over all not a bad professor. This class was nothing like comp 1 so be prepared and she gave electronic text to the stories so i got a book and never used it.

I have a hard time with online classes but her reviews were spot on! Interesting reading assignments! She was crystal clear about assignments and her discussions are MEANT to help you get 100's on essays. I got an A on the class and scored 100's on every essay but the last (95 because I didn't do the discussion). TAKE HER!!

I absolutely loved her class. We had grammar quizzes about once a week but you always feel prepared for them and they are never too hard. We had about 5 writing assignments which were all explained very well and we had a lot of in class discussion about them. She is also very funny and has us all laughing at 7 in the morning.

For a 7 am class she is amazing, full of energy, and ready to work. Essays were a bit annoying at first but you'll get the hang of them. Gives great feedback and is available when you need her! Gives optional extra credit assignments that help boost your total grade in the end (which is something I should have taken advantage of)

She is a great professor. Everything that she teaches is easy to understand. She gives extra credit throughout the semester. I took Professor Koopman for ENC1101 and again for 1102. She is a great teacher, she's funny, quirky, and explains things- like poetry- very well. Your grade is mostly based upon your essay papers, so put most of all your effort into those because they matter the most in this class. Overall, this is an easy class, and an easy A.

Dr. K fosters a welcoming atmosphere and encourages discussion, and she doesn't shy away from topics that students want to write about. She gives a lot of chances for students to earn extra credit through class participation, and also due to this we really came together as a class and became friends. She made English fun!

Shari Koopman is a wonderful professor. Even though she gives a TON of lectures, they're not that hard to understand, and she makes sure you understand the content. Assignments and essays are also a bit challenging, and she is a bit nitpicky as a grader, but as long as you know what you're doing and you read her instructions, you'll be fine.

If you want to learn how to be a better writer with a kind professor who gives valuable feedback in a timely manner, then take this professor! The assignments are fun to complete with creative freedom, and they consist of discussions, 100-word responses, 2 short stories, and a final essay on 5 short stories/novels of your choice. A very well-prepared professor, she gives all material needed in the modules that are readily available, plus the reading we did was enjoyable. We did have to write two short stories for the semester as well as a final project for the end on top of weekly work, but if you stay on top of everything it is easy. I really loved this class!

Easy-going class with what I would consider standard composition work (discussion posts, quizzes on grammar/poetry/short stories, etc) but Dr. K really shines in her dedication to her students. It's easy to schedule meetings outside of class thanks to zoom, encourages questions, and even has a coffee station in the classroom for students! 10/10.

Took this class mixed mode, attendance wasn't mandatory I say only because she always posted the lectures online afterwards for those who weren't in class to view. Easy essay topics, you only write 3 essays for this class, definitely would have her again.

Besides that you have Weekly grammar quizzes and extra credit opportunities during class. Overall she's quick with responses, incredibly understand and sweet.
