She was such a fantastic teacher. She bases her tests on what was discussed in class and on what notes she writes up on the board. She is extremely enthusiastic and makes the class very fun. I did not want to take this class at all but i am very happy I did and I found it quite interesting.

Political Science is my least fav subject, but when I took her class, I found myself loving it for the 1st time. I just got my Bachelor's degree, but I can say she was the best instructor I have ever had. She trully represents what a teacher should be! Her class was tough but definitely worth it!

Great instructor. She made class very interesting, and she explained everything very clearly in class. She talked about everything that was on the test during class. Many of my classmates ended up making poor grades in her class, but I honestly have no idea why. If you listen in class and take notes, you will definitely make an A.

A very hard class but you can pass with a "C" or higher if you pay attention in class and thoroughly read the assigned chapters. Anything she writes on the board or says in class can or will be on her tests. Tests are multiple choice and fill in the blank with no word bank.

Its true that if you're not willing to put in any effort you'll probably get a bad grade and dislike it, but if you're willing to put effort into it by reading the chapter once, listening atttentively, and taking notes, you will do extremly well. Although, I disliked that she would answer many questions with, "Google it" because she didn't know.

Dr.MacLachlan is a fabulous teacher. She is so willing to work with you if you are having problems. I had trouble registering for the class and i missed some things that she gave me time to do. The material is mostly interesting. You MUST do your work to succeed in this class. She does not ask a lot and she is very fair.

You might as well take the online course, she basically lectures whats in the textbook. She doenst have a large workload, her tests are extensive and theirs only 4 tests, so dont miss any or your grade will drop. She also puts questions on the test that arent even in the text!?!?

I took Dr. MacLachlan's class online. It was str8 and I passed. I would have passed if what a B if I had actually study. If you're going to take her online just make sure to follow her study guide and read. The paper on a current event was quite essay for me. Nice teacher though.

This is one of, if not the, best professor I've had at PBCC. She has impeccable clarity when she talks, and her tests come right from the notes. If you take good notes from the stuff she says, especially what she writes on the board, you will know everything for the test. Made me understand the government much better. A fabulous professor.

I took her online for Intro to American Gov and Intro to Political Science. She is quick to respond to emails and her tests are straight from the practice tests. Class consists of 4 tests and 5 or 6 150-200 word postings. Take her!! Very easy!!

I took the online class. Everything was crystal clear. It was cut and dry. You knew what had to be done, and what your responsibilities were. Extremely fair. The extra credit assignments are very helpful (there are two). I would suggest any first time pure internet student to take this class. It is a good guide.

She is an EXCELLENT professor. I am still awaiting my grade for the class I took with her. I don't think the grade I received was a very good one, but I know that is ALL due to me not trying hard enough. It had nothing to do with her. Just attend class as much as possible, and study; and you'll do fine. She is the best teacher I've ever had.

Took online class. The tests WERE hard, however if you use the presentations, study guides and PRACTICE TESTS (ALL OF THEM FOR EACH CHAPTER,) you will ace this class. I will admit that the first two tests I failed, then I found out about the practice tests that have 80% of all the questions from the test verbatim! Thats a guaranteed B!

I took the class online with Professor Maclachlan and found it to be easy. There are only 4 multiple choice tests and some discussion posts. The professor is very attentive. She is constantly online.

GREAT CLASS! This course consist of 4 exams and 5 discussion (just summarize the chapter basically). Exam content comes from the study guides. Very easy if you just review the material. Plus, there are 2 extra credit assignments worth 20pts each of your overall grade. Very helpful! Teacher responds quickley to any questions or concerns.

Took her online class, American Gov't. Never saw her in person but she comes across as cold and not interested in inspiring her students interest in her class. Only discussion postings from her were criticism and pointing out errors. Discussion board was sobered by her comments rather than encouraging.

Continued... Didn't get inspiration from instructor to learn. Exams for full semester are 4 covering 3-4 chapters like an express class. Should have been 6-8 covering 2-3 chapters given length of class. Overall feeling that she has lost her passion for teaching and has too big of a work load and is trying to lessen her load.

She was a crystal clear speaking professor. Basicially come to class, listen to her lectures, and take some tests. You don't have to come to class on certain days because of online postings. Good teacher, but to do well make sure you READ each chapter in the book. READ them. It helps you on the tests.

This class was extremely easy. The only way a student could fail would be to not read the textbook or not come to class. She is pretty biased, however, and on the leftist side. For an optional research paper she put "Do not use biased sources" then listed CNN.com as a good source. The funny thing is, our textbook talked about CNN being biased.

I am an A student. I studied for one of her government tests for three days straight, barly leaving the house, and was still unable to pass the test. In fact the average test scores for the entire class was 64%. She's a very nice lady, but her class isnt worth all the effort for a C.

If you have other classes to take be ready for a challenge. This online class requires a lot of reading and critical thinking exams. Stay on top of your reading and try and stay ahead of the time frame of the syllabus. She answers your questions for the most part, and the exams are difficult, but fair. Dr. MacLachlan is a very good professor. She has a very good knowledge on the American Government and knows how to teach. She's funny too. The only downside is that the tests are very hard. Even though they are open book, people still manage to get D's and F's...

Professor MacLachlan seems passionate about Geography and I found that she is open to discussion. She likes students speaking up in class and does a good job responding and relating it to what needs to be studied. Use the study guides and practice quizzes provided on blackboard.

Prof. MacLachlan is definitely the best professor for POS1041. She gives out crystal clear instructions, well thought-out also timely lectures and very few homework. Online class, it was one of the clearest and easiest online classes I have taken. The homework in the book counts towards extra credit. Grading is based off tests which aren't to bad and the discussion boards which if you follow guidelines you'll get full credit. Pretty much do all the work and so long as you get low 80s on tests you get an A.

I actually liked Professor Maclachlan. All we had in the class was Discussions and the tests, and she also gave extra credits. It was fairly easy, the discussions were based on your own opinion for each topic, you don't have to reply to another student. The tests weren't that easy but it was doable.

Easy A if you just do the work. Discussions are you opinions about the chapter (150 words min) 6 Test, I ( quiz-let ) and Extra Credit is the Ebook. To save money I complete the EC during the trail date on Pearson which was easy and I got it out the way. Research paper Optional for EC ( I didn't do ) but I still got an A. Post grades FAST! This professor grades assignments very quickly so you'll be able to keep track of your total grade. She offers extra credit as well which is great. She responds to emails fairly quickly. The discussions are pretty easy , just stay on top of your assignment due dates and you'll be fine .

Great professor! The tests were a bit hard but I used Quizlet to help me study. She gets back to you really fast and the extra credit assignments were a bit long but they were really easy. You have a discussion and a 33 question test for each lesson. She gives you full credit if you reach the word count and gives you the chapters for each lesson.

The expectations are very straight forward and the class site on the blackboard is well laid out and easy to navigate. There are 9 discussion posts and 6 tests. The tests are pretty simple Quizlet is a good resource to use for studying. The most important thing is to not missing anything. No late work is accepted at all no matter the situation.

This prof gives good clear feedback , and the assignment arent hard at all. If you do everything by the due date and put a little thought into it youll pass easily with at least a B. Youd be dumb not to take a class with this prof, its not a gimme class but its so simple and straightforward.

I love the type of discussion posts she had us do. It was all opinion based, so as long as you know something about the topic, you were fine. I LOVED taking Dr.Maclachlans class! American gov't used to be my weakest subject in hs, and now it's my most vital; she is knowledgeable and is always willing to answer any questions. The weekly assignments are review notes, and 1 opinion based discussion post. I took this class completely online, no zoom. The discussions are easy, she outline show she wants + feedback. Tests are lock down, no cam, medium difficulty, open written notes. She gives a summary on notes each chap. not bad, would recommend if your ok on your own.

The reading is going to be the bulk of your homework. Some units had around 100 slides of reading. Then you take part in discussions where you need to go in depth about what you learned and form opinions. Don't worry it's not a ton of writing overall, you needed to be able to write about 200 words at a time. Tests got very challenging!

I highly recommend this online class as a full-time student. The coursework is very light, yet you learn a lot. She encourages everyone's opinions to be incorporated into our learning. While the coursework is light, don't forget to complete a simple assignment. I love the way the canvas course is organized and easy to understand.

Very straightforward and easy class. There is no homework, just a discussion question due once a week and a test every 2-3 weeks. Prof. MacLachlan provided all the material on canvas so you do not have to spend money on books. The readings are long, but she gives a study guide and other resources to summarize it all well.

This was definitely one of the easiest manageable classes I have ever taken. There are short discussions due every 2 weeks and the test are 50 questions on lockdown no camera. There is an optional extra credit essay offered. If you need the credit and you have a hectic schedule, I recommend this class!!
