she's pretty strict, but a good teacher
She's tough but teaches the material very well.
She gives lots of homework, which is a pain, but pays off in the end. Be prepared to work REALLY hard, but you will be prepared for all the tests. I made an A on every test because she is such a good teacher
tons of hard homework but you will be very prepared for the department tests. worth the extra work.
very difficult class but she is the best teacher. lots of HW but it helps in the end. SI helps a whole lot. lots of work but easier with this teacher.
She is strict on notation. However, she knows what she is talking about and knows her stuff very well. If you do the suggested problems, it'll help on the test.
She is terrible. Her tests suck. She gives a lot of homework that is easier than the test questions. And was rude everytime I went to her office. Do not take her.
Im not even finished with the course i know i will make an A because she is an amazing teacher. She explains everything very thoroughly
Dr. Prevost is a great teacher. She explains stuff really well and makes sure you understand the material. Be really careful with notation, however. She's pretty picky about that. The class is MEGA hard, but if you have to take it, Dr. Prevost's the way to go.
she can be a nice person. if you miss a class for any reason, ie death in the family, she will not let you make up ANY work. The test are dept test and tend to be a lot harder than what she says. Do a lot of work if you are going to take her and dont miss class those points could help you get a D
The best and the worst calculus teacher ever. Nobody knows their stuff like her but if you think you can do good in calculus and her class, good luck.
She is the hardest grader and spends time lecturing on thms not problems
I really enjoyed having Dr. Prevost. She definitely knows her stuff, and is always concerned about your understanding of the material. Test problems are harder than the examples she gives, and she is very picky on notation. Lots of HW and quizzes, but 4 or 5 of them get dropped. Work hard=A.
Very straight foward and organized. Clearly explains what is expected from students. She knows her stuff and can relay it to students. Shows theory but also gives examples. Does give h/w and quizzes (drops 4-5 of them) which helps learn the information. If really want to learn material and willing to put in some work highly suggest Prevost
Prevost is the best teacher I've had at Clemson and the best math teacher I've ever had. Her quizes and homework are hard, but they make you know the material for the test. She prepares you well for test and knows her stuff really well.
I loved this teacher. She is the best teacher I have ever had.

You can't fault her for teaching calculus because it's not easy. She is by far one of the best math professors at Clemson. She did a great job explaining topics in a way everyone could understand.
I took her for calc 1 and 3. Very knowledgeable, and very smart. Answers questions thouroughly. Tests are harder than quizes and hw. Collects HW and takes roll. Basically, you will learn calc, but it will be hard. Fair grader, but is picky on notation. If you're ready to take calc head-on, take this prof.
Hard and tough with grading. She knows her stuff but be prepared to do lots of homework and quizzes! If you are used to making A's this might not be the class for you. I've taken her twice and did alright in her class. Just be prepared for what is to come.
Very hard class. She's an okay teacher, but she asks tons of questions and expects you to know the answer. When you don't know the answer, she kind of makes you feel dumb. She definitely was not one of the best teachers I've had. I wouldn't really recommend her unless you are amazing at math, then you will probably do okay.
very hard class but she does a better job explaining it than anyone else could... very picky about notation though... spends too much time explaining concepts and not enough time working problems
She's a very good calculus teacher and she's pretty reasonable about quizzes and homework. Her tests can be pretty killer, though. If she's in a good mood she'll add on some extra credit.
She knows her stuff, but DO NOT TAKE HER!! She gives WAY too much work, moves WAY too fast, and does not care about helping you at all.
Gr8 teacher....knows her stuff. Gives a lot of assignment during the course and a harsh grader.
She was a great teacher. She really knows the material and teaches it in a vey clear way. She does grade harsh, but one thing I really liked about her was that she was very helpful outside of class. She was always available in her office, even outside office hours, and by phone/email. Simply put, she's hard, yet helpful.
Great teacher. Will respond to any email immediately and is always available to help. She doesn't research so she is completely dedicated to her students. Always one extra credit question on tests... tests are tough but extremely reasonable if you do all the practice problems. I made an A and I'm not an A student. Just work and you'll learn.
Prevost's class is extremely difficult and fast paced. She also requires you to do programming assignments that can take an entire weekend to complete. She lectures all class on problems that she won't even test you over. The homework is all graded and very hard. There are quizzes every week and the tests are very difficult. DONT TAKE HER!!
DO NOT TAKE HER! SHe is a good teacher, but very hard. very fast past class, and all her assignments are very difficult. graded hmw everyday and a quiz every week. if you get her class your going to have to work very hard!
Sherri is a great teacher, but she is also one of the hardest ones I have ever seen; most other classes get to use atleast a calculator and sometimes a notesheet on the test and go a lot slower. If u take her u will learn a lot, but just making a B will consume most of your semester. I told all of my friends to stay far away from Sherri.
Hard work, online homework everyday, use maple for 3d graphing, but passable if enough work is put in.
made the material way harder than it should have been. she grades WAY TOO STRICT!!!!!
Not the easiest professor, and a bit strict grade wise, but Dr. Prevost knows her calculus and teaches it well. Take her if you're up to the challenge and want to take something from the class once you've completed it.
Great teacher, but impossible class. I had to drop, because i didnt have the time for the class. Make sure you keep up with your reading and do your homework
very hard class, especially taking it first semester freshman year. I ended up with a B but had to work extremely hard. She's very helpful and cares about you learning but is difficult.
Dr. Prevost is a great teacher, but impossibly hard and the course if very fast paced. If you keep up with the homework, and pay attention in class, you will learn a lot. However, she asigns maple projects that will take you all weekend to complete. Only take her if you are up for a challenge and are willing to work very hard.
This was definitely the hardest class I had ever taken in my life. Sometimes the work was pretty overwhelming, but Dr. Prevost was a great teacher. I actually (miraculously?) got a high A in the class, and I know there were a few other people in the class who did the same. If you're not up for a challenge, don't take this class.
Probably one of the hardest classes I've had to take. Homework everynight and a quiz once a week, but she is a great teacher. Her tests and quizzes are fair, but she is strict at grading. She is harder than other teachers, but you'll understand the material really well. Do not take her unless you're willing to work hard.
She will demand your focus and your effort, but you will learn the material very well, and if you come at it with a decent attitude, you'll enjoy it, too.
Extremely hard teacher. She gives homework every night, and I quiz every week. The tests are pretty tough, and she grades them even tougher. The final exam was the hardest I have ever had in a math class. Do not take her unless you made B's or A's in other math classes.
Really good professor. One of the better instructors in the math department. Yes, she's tough, but believe me, it's going to be worth it when you take 208. After all, were at Clemson to learn, right?
Great teacher, always willing to help out. Hardest class I've ever taken but if you apply yourself you'll do fine...if not then expect to flunk out.
Dr. Prevost is a VERY good teacher and knows her stuff as if she made the book herself. TAKE HER, but only if you are willing to work...and I mean work very hard (that is unless you are already a math god). You'll be glad you took her (and you WILL get an A) if you put in the HARD work all semester long and *understand, not just memorize.*
Dr. Prevost is a very difficult teacher, but is very willing to help. She is also very understanding if you have to miss class for some reason. You come out of the class knowing the material.
Ridiculously hard teacher. I got an A in all previous math courses taken (106, 108, 206) and then I take Prevost thinking she is a good teacher... don't let that little yellow smiley face fool you. She is super hard her tests are unfair.
Prevost is undoubtedly a good professor. She really knows her stuff, and posts very helpful notes online. That being said, she is also a VERY difficult professor. Her exams are difficult, but the grading is fair. Do not expect an easy A in this class, but be prepared to work your butt off for a good grade.
A very excellent, thorough calculus teacher. Class was extremely difficult, but grading was straightforward and fair. If you really want to understand 206 and 208 material very, very well, take her. If just trying to pass the class, take someone else.
Helpful, but very difficult. I spent the majority of the semester using the book to understand the material because she works extremely quickly during class, making it hard to comprehend what she is saying and take notes at the same time. Tests are hard, but not impossible. Don't take her if you just want to pass.
i am a math lover. i don't see how these other reviewers "really learned their stuff" with her, as everyone in my class spends so much time on the hw that there is little time to actually learn the concepts. she likes to teach using really easy examples, and then assigns insane problems. i will definitely not be taking her again
Dr. Prevost is an excellent instructor, and she always grades fairly. She's organized and helpful. In my experience, most of the negative feedback for Dr. Prevost is a result of a personal grudge or a previous bad grade. She's hard, but she is very good.
This teacher is so interested in stumping students that she can't explain what she's supposed to be teaching. She thinks it's funny when students look at her like she's crazy and the equation given looks impossible. Not a good teacher at all. Her examples are usually easy and the hw is nothing like it. Dont take her if you dont like teaching yourse
PLEASE listen to me! Don't take this woman for math. She gives waaay too much homework, and her tests are extremely hard. I consider myself good at math, and this woman has totally stripped me of my right to say that. Take Guest, Rios-Adams, Teitloff, or Janoski before you take her. Worst teacher ever.
Dr. Prevost is very clear in her lecturing, and paying attention in lecture is key to passing. She seems to understand that many of her students might not have a strong background in more basic math (especially linear algebra and algebraic manipulation in 208), so she makes a point to review these concepts. She is very available in person for help.
Dr. Prevost is extremely good at explaining difficult concepts, and she proves most of the equations and theories used in class. Tests are very difficult, and the class requires hard work, but Dr. Prevost is available and willing to help after class and during office hours. Work hard, and the class will be beneficial.
She knows her stuff, and has homework every night, but the class is extremely tough. If you fall back on 1 day, it's hard to catch up. She writes on the chalk board and is very good at helping you visualize what's happening. Overall, she is very good.
Do not take this teacher. I am convinced she WANTS you to fail. I made 4 A's and a D in her class. That has to say something. The worst teacher I have ever had. Doesn't explain things well at all in class. Feels like she mocks her students. If you ask a question, you feel dumb. Tests were impossible. She cannot teach well.
She is a good teacher and I understand her and understand the content, but her grading is ridiculous. I have received quizzes back that I got all the answers right on, but I received a 75% and this is not an uncommon occurrence.
Very Good but Very hard teacher. Homework is due just about every night and takes a while to do. Very good at teaching the material but makes her tests and quizzes ridiculously hard. If you want an easy A don't take this class.
Dr. Prevost is the hardest teacher I've ever had, but is also the best. Her class is extremely difficult and requires a lot of work, but you will learn the material if you do her assignments. Great teacher if you are willing to meet with her in office hours and just ask questions when confused.
I'm typically good with math, however the workload required for this course is unrealistic compared to other courses. Dr Prevost is extremely helpful during office hours, however this doesn't translate to the tests, as her tests are more than can be done in the time allotted. If you want to pass this class anything above a C, take someone else.
She will not tell you how to structure your answers to get full credit. She told me to just figure it out. On exam, correct answers still missed pts for format. She gives work no partial credit on exam or hw. And heaven forbid you mess up one (+/-) sign when integrating. She'll give 3/10, even if the rest was continuing from that small mistake.
Prevost knows the material and explains it very well. However, the workload is ridiculous (2 hours of homework per night) and her grading is very strict. The course requires lots off work to make an A or B. Don't take unless you enjoy math and want a challenge
Can be a difficult class if you are not mathematically gifted, however far from impossible. Homework due M,W,F and quizzes every week. If you get behind your grade will snowball, but stay ahead and you'll be fine. Very fair teacher. Tests are generally similar in difficulty to homework.
Math really has to be your strong suit in order to take this class. The amount of homework is the largest out of any class I've taken. If you start feeling lost before the drop date, you're definitely going to want to kick this class to the curb. You'll learn a lot if you stick with her, but she makes you feel stupid for asking questions in class.
She is crazy hard. Her tests aren't long 2 page front and back usually but insanely hard. She takes points off for your scratch work too. She is a good teacher at explaining things in class but the examples usually aren't like the homework given. The amount of homework given is enough for a few classes. Online homework 3 days a week and a quiz.
Horrible professor. She gives so much homework and quizzes and random assignments. Also the week of the test she gives MORE assignments so you dont have time to even study. The tests are graded very harshly. DON'T Take her. I've always done well in math classes until I took hers.
she gives tons of homework relative to other classes but the practice is good. If you are having trouble GO TO OFFICE HOURS. go prepared with questions and she is super helpful.
Dreadfully difficult. She covers material far too quickly and does not cater toward the more hands on learners. If you need to be shown "how" and "why" the math works, as well as do repeated examples, this is not the professor for you. EVER.
DO NOT TAKE! The class is crazy hard, and she is one of the meanest professors I have encountered at Clemson. She is extremely condescending if you ask her questions. Too much homework, too, and there is a quiz every week. She takes off points for scratch work! Because of her, I'm changing my major. She honestly made me hate math that much. AVOID!
THIS PROFESSOR IS HORRIBLE. She is mean, condescending, discouraging, and just rude. Don't go to her office hours unless you like to feel like an idiot. Rest assured, she thinks you are one. Also, if she doesn't like you, she'll find reasons to take off points on your test even if the answer is right. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE FOR THIS CLASS.
She is probably the worst professor you can get for 206 and 208 at Clemson. I don't know how she has such a high rating on here. She offers a fair amount of office hours, but if you ask her anything, she is really condescending. She does not provide adequate test prep, and she rushed like crazy to cover all the material at the end. Avoid!
The amount of homework given is ridiculous and impossible. Then the tests and weekly quizzes are impossibly hard, especially compared to other classes who get to use note cards or notes on tests. She does not let this happen. Going to office hours is a waste she is rude and barely helps. Overall worst professor I have had at Clemson.
What a terrible life experience. Try to avoid as much as possible, she definitely knows the material but honestly you need to work the problems as perfectly as a textbook to get a solid grade
She makes the material way too complex. She knows the materials well, but cannot teach it for understanding. There is HW every MWF, quizzes TH, and gives worksheets for HW. The amount of work for this class is insane. When I did my HW, it would usually take 2-6 hours (every MWF). Too much work and she makes it way too complex. Get another teacher.
For 2080, I would take someone else. She has an ungodly amount of homework each week while most other 2080 classes have ZERO mandatory HW. She takes off a ton of points for format even if you get the right answer. And you'll see exam questions that she never even talked about. She is nice though, but I wish I took someone else.
Terrible teacher. Idk why she has such a great rating on here. Homework 247 and tests are hard as anything. Also quizzes every week. Do not take the honors level class. She is smart but does not know how to teach. Also makes you feel very dumb if you ask her questions. No practice tests, you basically learn the entire book if you want to pass.
Dr. Prevost is a tough professor, but if you're willing to work for it, you will succeed. Do ask her questions and go to the review sessions, she is very willing to help. You must do all the homework, sometimes identical questions are on the quizzes. Overall, she was a great teacher.
Ridiculous amounts of homework, material isn't incredibly tough but the way she teaches makes it unnecessarily difficult. She is very specific about what she wants and how she wants problems done. The homework is atrocious; I don't have time for anything other than math homework now.
Class is practically impossible there is an unbelievable amount of homework and you have some every night. If you fall a bit behind or miss one class your toast. Grading is extremely tough. If you are really into and really good at math take her if you need to pass don't. would not recommend at all.
Very smart professor and genuinely cares for her students, however her tests are pretty hard and her weekly quizzes can make you pull your hair out. Expect HW every night and be prepared to study. A's are possible but difficult to receive.
I won't call this class "easy" because it is multivariable calculus, but I do think she made it as easy as she could given the material. If you pay attention in class and do the homework you will be fine. Prevost was a great teacher and had a sense of humor. She's definitely my favorite professor so far.
Easily the most difficult calculus class I had taken to date. She taught the material well, although don't blink, you will miss something important. The only downside is no online notes. Tests are usually graded pretty tough. Final replaces your lowest test and be grateful for that. Expect around 2-3 2 hour long online HW and a quiz weekly.
She gave a lot of homework and quizzes. She was also a ver hard grader BUT she does an excellent job teaching the material. Definitely take her27
BEWARE She is a VERY difficult teacher. She was an honors teacher then went down to teaching regular 2060 classes, the class has no slack in it. Lectures are very fast paced. "Behind schedule" kind of mentality. Quizzes and tests are graded very hard. The test questions are even harder. Wish I knew this before taking her, expects you to know a lot.
This class was a little difficult to understand, just like every calculus class. The professor was a very tough grader and gave little to no partial credit. She teaches well in my opinion but you have to pay attention all class every class or you will get lost.
Dr. Prevost is a great teacher and truly cares about your understanding of the material. She is a tough grader but very accessible outside of class while providing numerous resources to reinforce her lectures.
So much homework. Material isn't terribly difficult, the algebra is what gets hard. Expect homework every MWF plus extra assigned paper homework. Quiz every week. Take her if you want to be taught well and/or if you can spend all your time on this class. KEY: ULTRA TIME COMMITMENT. You can pass/get a good grade with LOTS OF TIME.
You will have to work for a decent grade in this class. However, it is possible! There will be MWF homework that takes up 2-3 hours. This class WILL be your PRIORITY. If it's not, you will suffer. You will learn more than friends in other classes. My friend's professor even said what we did in Dr. Prevost's class was "too hard to do by hand."
I took 2060 & 2080 with Prevost and made B+ both times. She is a pretty tough professor when it comes to grading and exams, but nothing impossible as long as you put in the work. Her lectures are taught so well and clear, which makes it easy to actually learn the material for the future. She is a fantastic professor.
Dr. Prevost is one of the least compassionate professors at Clemson. She does not care if you succeed, but is most interested in making sure you know how much she knows. She certainly does know a lot, but rather than answer conceptual questions when the class got confused, she would go off on theoretical tangents. Very poor dynamics with her class.
