WEird teacher! She might be good at math but she is not helpful during classtime at all. She never review problems during class time because she blames we have too much to learn. And she talks to us like we're children. She needs to learn how to "TEACH", guiding students instead of just lecturing.
Very good teacher. She gives u a practice test before each exam and her exams are identical to the practice tests just with different numbers. makes math easy!
she makes her students write so much notes. i used up 3 notebooks for this class, but the notes are really helpful especially if you don't like math that much. she gives you steps to do the problems. beware of the homework because they are worth a good 20% of your grade. tests are easy!
got A's and B's all semester, but some how ended up failing the class after the final. i do don't recommend taking her.
Very weird hippi-ish professor. She is very organized. The notes are crystal clear. She gives her students a password to go on her website and check out your grade. The only down side is the homework. Their is tons of homework. Expect an average of 45 problems per night. Yes thats written correctly.
Straight Forward. Organized, lots of homework but you can B.S. it b/c she does not look at it in detail.Lots of notes, final is worth 50% but you review a lot.Practice test b4 every test that is EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE REAL TEST. Very Easy! Take her over ne one else.
A quirky prof. who is very clear in lectures and gives you many fair opportunities to do well in class and ask for help if needed. Take her and pay attention!
easist teacher in PCC!
She gave us lots of notes, but no lectures - she merely reads her notes word by word while she is writing down on the board. When she solves a problem She always have to prepare before class, which makes me wonder about her confidence as a calculus teacher.
SUPER CLEAR NOTE! Her note is the best cuz it is very organized, crystal-clear, extremely helpful especially for learning the concept. Tests are fine as well as the final. How much you work is how much you get in this class. She does a GREAT job of introducing calculus! Class is boring, though.
Shes the coolest, down to earth math teacher in PCC sje knows her stuff and she does not look at her students to be lower then her... if you really have problems with math please take her it will hlep you alot... you wont regret it... =)
SHES THE BEST MATH TEACHER IN THE WORLD !!! SHES SO ORGANIZED AND ALL HER NOTES ARE SO CLEAR.. I TIHNK IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH MATH YOU SHOULD TAKE HER SHES SO GREAT AND SO NICE.. I LOVED HER !!!!!
she's a good teacher, and she teaches very well. I love her class because she teaches very very well. If you have troubled with math, you should take her class. You will learn a lot in her class and you won't regret it. Recommend who has troubled with math.
Newman-Gomez is the best Calculus teacher. She doesn't emphasize proofs much but throws in a few for fun. Homework is fairly easy, posted on her website. She writes her tests but nothing extraordinarily difficult, just problems that make sure you understand what you're doing in the class. Easy A/B, but slacking will get you worse. Fun teacher
Sharon is a fantanstic person and a very good teacher. She is clear and very helpful. She works very very very hard to make things easier on us. She tells you what problems to study and lets you use your notebook for your tests, but NOT for the final(which is fine, study and dont freak out). She was a pleasure, even though i had to be there @7am:)
Really wants her students to do well. Great teacher, that expalins concepts thoroughly. Tests are easy because you have a notebook, but be careful because the final is worth 50% of your grade and you get no help. Great teacher even though the class was at 7 am.
One of the best math teachers you'll ever have. Goes completely out of her way to make learning math as easy as possible. Explains everything clearly, always available for help and encourages students to try different ways of solving problems.
Easiest cal. 5B teacher. If you can understand the questions similar to the happy face questions she mentions, you will be in good shape.Very neat and organized lecture notes.Passionate about math.
Easiest math calss i ever had. y don't even need any calculus background, you can still get a A if you study her happy face problems. However, I learned how to do the problems and passed the class w/ a high A. But I didn't understand why.Don't recommand y take her if you need strong math basis.
Wonderful teacher, very intelligent. She is very clear on what she wants and helps you to stay organized with your notes. I highly recommend this class for people who are not strong math students.
THE BEST MATH TEACHER ON EARTH SHE IS SO COOL AND WITH HER AS A TEACHER IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND MATH. HAPPY FACE ROCKS
Easy teacher, you can get easy A. 6 open notes exams. Study the practice test, make sure you can do the practice test. The words in the exam will be exactly the same with the practice test. She only changes the numbers. However, I did not learn anything from this class.
class is ok..but if u need further study of math, think about it..cuz it's not that much helpful..
hard teacher..and hard question on exam. this prof is not helpful at all.
This teacher doesn't explain the problems very well. There is an online message board for homework questions. The exams are hard. The final is way too difficult. Open notes exams, but surprise -- no help in the final (worth 50% of your grade)--> go take some other professor before it's TOO LATE!
she has no teaching skills what so ever. sure she is sweet but cant teach. the good thing is that you can use your notes during exams except on the final.
SHE IS A GOOD AND EASY TEACHER!!! If u DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING she is ALWAYS there after CLASS to Help!!! Also, notes and practice quizes r used on the quizes which is EASY!!!
Sharon is such a good professor. She is clear and explains material very well. Tests are open notes but not the final. This class was very easy. I totally recommend her.
What can I say about Sharon? She rocks! We listened everyday to Bach cello suites by YoYo Ma while she lectured to enhance comprehension and retention. She let us use our notes for all exams but the final, and insisted we record everyting on the board in our notebooks. Tough love, it worked for me and I'm a dumbass in Math!
Regular tests are open notes, but regardless of this novelty, she purposely makes the questions harder (some never appeared in the hw!!). If you miss 2 questions, you're automatically get a 'B'. Lots of confusion, too much notes, too many hw questions (most don't appear on the hw!!). Class moves too fast. Don't take.
her practice tests questions are the same ones on the test. and of course..her tests?! OPEN NOTES!!!she is easy!!make sure to study the practice tests and understand it. then you'll do good on the test.don't forget the homework too!!!
OMG best teacher ever.. do the HW and pratice test.. Must go to class but time will fly.. Would love to take her again..
She is a great teacher who uses every minute of class time valuable. all her test are open notes, except the final. she lectures, hands out note packets that explain each new item for you to put in your notebook so that it is easier to look back for referance. she is very nice, always available to help and is fair. she also passes out practice test
best teacher ever! She makes math so fun. Must do your work though! Do the homework, and practice tests! but dont worry its all worth it in the end. i hated math before i took her, she made me love math!
she is an excellent professor. her class is very helpful and easy. All of her tests are open notes except final. All practice tests are very HELPFUL, do them all....Take her!!!!
the best teacher ever in P.C.C. you will feel comfortable talking to her. her jokes are funny and entertaining. the only bad thing is she gave the highest grade to that bad mouth Chinese jerk.
SHE WAS EXCELLENT!!!! SHE IS THE KIND OF TEACHER THAT CARES ABOUT YOU AND WANTS YOU TO PASS. ALL TEST ARE OPEN BOOK BUT FINAL IS NOT. I RECOMMEND MS. NEWMAN-GOMEZ
BEST MATH PROF ever!Helps make a notebook which you use during tests except the final.Super enthusiastic, caring, and clear.Makes you feel competent in doing math.Want her to teach all future math classes!THE BEST!
She explains so well, and relates math to real life situations. She cares about students and is reasonable. Notebook - excellent way to teach math at this level. Also helps you after hours online via her own message board! Thanks Ms.NG!
This class was a nightmare! She goes way too fast, talks to the board, and gives out too much homework. Save yourself the trouble. Find a different professor.
love this teacher..she is easy and teachers really good..gives you a study guide complete it and she will also go over it in class..then you will take the exam with the same problems but she just changed the numbers on it!! and lets you use notes..so wat else can you ask for...take her shes the best ever!!
Every week I came to her class only to listen to her see how fast she could write all her notes on the board. Her final was crap, and she said she would not put certain things on the test such as Truth Tables and the Koch Snowflake. She ended up doing it, and because of suprises like that, I failed the final. Find another professor.
I very well agree. She really made me hate math. She always played weird creepy music and did indeed give out lots of homework. Worst part is that you have to get the right answer to get any credit at all. Such a bad professor, don't take her!
Probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. I spent many nights trying to figure out the material because she would skim by it through lecture. If I asked questions she would say to come to her office hours.
I found it difficult to grasp certain concepts she was teaching, when she does examples, she does extremely easy ones but when you go home to do the homework, its like trying to read another language. She tries to help but if you work full-time and have trouble in math, don't take her. She even allows you to use your notebook, people still fail....
Extremely hard, not clear and tons of homework. Expect to be easy but I was wrong. Drop and get a refund
Honestly, she tries to teach it as clear as possible. I had hard times understanding the material and even the notes were vague. Even reading the book it helped, but still didn't correspond to what was taught.
She gets confused by the material easily and takes the hardest, most confusing rout to an answer. She goes really slow in the beginning of the semester and spedns way too much time talking about her kids and other BS. At the end of the class she RACES through the mertiel and does not answer questions. Final is 1/3 so if you have a B you can get a C
Worst math teacher Ive ever had. Lectures are useless, final is worth 50%. Does not know how to tech higher math.
like prior comment useless to take calc 5b with her. Couldn't get answers during class and she made many mistakes during lecture. Copied all homework from solutions manual because of poor lecture and had to teach myself. 50% final ruined my overall grade. Should have taken another teacher.
Does not know how to teach calculus. There are so many mistakes on the lecture, and she just talks to the board during the lecture. If you are planning to take CALCULUS, plz plz do not take her cuz you have to learn by yourself. And we waste too much time on writing the useless notes every time. It looks like an English class not a Calculus course.
She's a good honest teacher and has a website with helpful notes and links. She does not use Math XL so don't pay for the code, just get the book cheap. She checks homework weekly. Tests are open note except for the final. Like any math class, you'll have to put the time into learning. I took her for Math 125 as well and would take her again.
very organize teacher. She has plenty of office hours and responds email quickly. Overall I enjoyed this class and the structure of it. Open notes/homework exams (except for final which is 33% of your grade) and she drops the lowest exam score!!! No Calculators, but exams' questions are not hard to calculate...take her!!
Drops lowest test score. Tests are open notes and she wants why the answer is true or correct. Few quiz problems before class starts. Final is worth 50% of overall grade. The teacher is pretty bad at teaching. Even though, she has "prepared" for her lectures, she often messes up and confuses herself while lecturing.
Easy teacher. 5 tests, lowest dropped. Open note tests. bunch of quizzes. Do the practice tests, check the online message boards. However, final is worth 50% of grade and is closed notes. but if you haven't been relying on your notes during the test, the final is a piece of cake. Not an automatic A, but just study. Easy teacher, for me anyways.
She's horrible at teaching the material, but genuinely wants you to learn. She has a very nice attitude and does tell a lot of life stories. Though, I couldn't stand her teaching, she was bearable. HORRIBLE final though, she realized herself that it was even hard for her to complete it. Does get lost in her lectures.
Took her 5A when she had her open note test policy. But now she has changed it to closed note and no calculator. (Still drops lowest test score & final is now worth 30% and not 50%) This is quite a fair change since her tests are now much easier and she gives you hints prior to the test date. She has improved in her lectures then I took her for 5A.
she is a great professor, can be confusing in explaining problems and can go off topic sometimes. She can make math hard to understand
Very fair professor with a great personality. Test are extremely simple and if your this far in math classes you know what to expect from this type of class. Homework is clearly assigned with her website posting them and their due dates. Over all great professor that could get a little edgy yet deliver a great lecture for any math student.
math is a difficult subject for me which is why i recieved the grade i did. sharon did her best to help and really wants her students to learn. she tries to be fair and all her practice tests are basically copies of her exams. she was very nice and excited about life in general. althought i didnt pass i would take her again!
Would definitely recommend to take her. Trust me, she's extremely helpful esp. her notes. She's even willing to give 1% if you do table of contents. It's still something. She's so sweet and caring. Willing to answer any questions. Very patient. Easy A in her class. Exams exactly like her practice exams. Get her!
Her class is simple and straightforward. She bases her quizzes and exams off of her notes (her quizzes are only one question). Her video notes are really helpful! 2% extra credit if you've written all her notes the way she wants em. EASY A if you do the work.
Very thankful for this teacher she is extremely helpful answers questions online, if you don't get it she will post videos on YouTube. I admire her hard work and dedication, she absolutely loves what she teaches. Goes over practice test, 1% cotta xtra credit, xtra credit on quizzes. She can be a little tough on grading her exams.
Sharon's class was not the best. I think she has a good heart but I didn't appreciate her philosophy on math, which to me seemed was founded in her stories about taking math in college. She continuously repeated that she grinded her way through school and I feel that she expects her students to follow the same philosophy.
Felt like I was taking an online class. She made videos of each example and put them on canvas, which is fine, but she only uses the videos. No hand written in class stuff, except every once in a while. Her tests are straight forward, but if you don't do work the way she wants it you lose a lot of points. Also makes it seem you have to grind math.
she is not best but she is not bad either.
Her class is very easy. Her notes/lectures are online. She goes over some of the notes and do the homework with you. She is very anal when it comes to the notebook for her class. She gives you hints on what to expect for her tests. Her tests are straight forward. She even tells you what is going to be on the test and final. Wish she taught 5B.
Her teaching is so clear and thorough you feel like a genius taking her exams! I took her class 2 years ago and so much has stuck with me that I had to come here and recommend her 100%. She is awesome!
She goes very fast. You really have to updated with math 131. She expects you to know the material she's going over, She makes the class seem easy but once you lose focus or a day you feel like you missed the whole semester. She's a great teacher, i just couldn't keep up with her.
Her lectures were way too fast to point where you can barely keep up. When she says that she does the homework in class with you she only does a few and skips around. She gives out ALOT of homework. The homework consists of notes which you copy online into your book, homework from the textbook, mymathlab online and practice tests. STRESSFUL
If you don't mind dedicating your weekends to doing homework, this might be the professor for you. Homework consists of a TON of textbook problems, online notes, practice exams, and online MyMathLab problems. She'll assign this on a Friday night and it'll be due the following Monday. Worst math experience I've ever had. AVOID HER CLASS!
Mixed feelings on this class. The good: She gives a practice test to do before every exam. Tests are fair. 5 exams and she drops the lowest The bad: She lectures really fast and confusing. She assigns a TON of hw thats hard to keep up with. Tests make up 80% of the grade. Overall this is a tough class. Avg. test scores are in the 60s
she was the best math teacher i ever took in pcc, yes shes very tough on your notebook, you must have all of the notes written but the notebook its worth extra credit!!! i really wished she would teach 5B. She has her own forums so if you got any questions that's the best place to ask or in her office hours . Test are straight foward
Ok teacher, tests are a little hard. Quizzes screwed alot of ppl. They are 10% of the final grade. She only gave 4 at the start of the semester when everyone was figuring out the classteacherschedule and never gave them again. Each quiz was 2.5% of FINAL grade. We begged for more quizes but nothing. My grade started at 92.5% cuz of that.
Stickler on grading; no leeway for any problem not shown her way. Makes you do double the work at home because the notebook you write up is at a different pace than her lectures. Really helpful notes + always accessible but tests are way more tough than her video examples. Insists too much on physics problems on tests.
Math was a difficult subject for me. I spent countless hours on this class, joined a class study group, and hired a tutor. Needless to say, no matter how much effort and time I put, I always received nothing more than an 80-85 on the test. I second the person on the bottom about quizzes. Understand quiz concept, sometimes it may be exactly the same
If you want an easy A, take her! She is very clear on how problems are done and is more than helpful since shes ALWAYS online. I love her teaching style since its mostly work in class and notes for homework(more time for practice in class) She gives identical problems on study guides and tests. Put in work and you will get an easy A!
Gomez is this hippy professor who always plays Baroque during lectures & makes me feel like I'm at a doctors office. (Bored & falling asleep) She works backwards you take notes at home on YouTube and do partial homework in class. along with MyMathLab. Seem easy right? Wrong. I went to her office hrs. Her mind was somewhere else. no help. AVOID!
to lazy to teach the class herself makes everyone go online and watch her videos
You need to avoid this teacher. Although she is helpful, she doesn't tell u that you have a quiz the next day until 8PM the night before the class starts (my class starts at 7:00 AM, so I had to stay awake waiting). Also, she assigns a lot of COPYING HW (20 pages per week). she made me hate math, worst experience ever! her HW strategy is so weird
She teaches calculus 1 (5A) with powerpoint slides. There is no interaction which is crucial to learning math. She MAKES you COPY HER notes, as if you were in highschool. The homework is COPYING problems from her youtube videos. Although her true intention is to help students, her methods are horrible. Take her for algebra, not calculus. Nice lady.
She helps, she curves, she is clear and she almost posts the exams before we take them. She is amazing but the problem is, she makes us copy her notes instead of just studying them. It was a waste of time for me actually, instead of studying and working on the exercises i was busy copying the notes. She is an awesome teacher overall.
Great teacher there's a lot of work but if you truly apply yourself consistently through out the semester an A is managable. Takes problems step by step & willing to help you.
unnecessarily unconventional. In a 2.5 hour lecture, you will write maybe 5 sentences Quizzes are all given early in semester when students just getting used to her wacky style. Many students will lose a lot of points like this. Harsh grader . Answer can be correct and still 5/10 Lectures are BORING. 5 unit class should be a lot of writing
Honestly.. if you don't mind dedicating your free time doing homework and writing notes then take her class... she relies on her youtube videos.. She expects you to watch those at HOME or on your own time as well as copy it down... Its so redundant. Expect a lot of homework. Would not recommend for those working.
She always play Baroque during her lectures. She is quite a hippy. She is different from most teachers. She expects you to copy all her lecture notes in a notebook and do the homework at home and then you go to class and she would explain it. Though when she is explaining it in class she doesnt explain everything. She doesnt allow calculator.
Her class is very easy. Just follow her lecture. She explains many things. You don't need to write down anything. She uses youtube lecture, so that just watch her youtube lecture later when you can not understand. She gives many homework quizzes and the quizzes will be in tests. Textbook is optional.
The math was EASY but I am a procrastinator, so doing the homework every Sunday took HOURS. Class lectures are pointless cause you basically go over everything you did on the homework for nearly 3 hours... but she doesn't teach, simply reviews. I dropped the class, way too many unnecessary notes and homework. Tests were okay if you study.
Be prepared to copy notes on your own time every week from her online lectures. You copy them on your own at home and she briefly goes over them during class. Assigns a lot of online homework due every Sunday night. Notes and homework are very excessive but the tests are moderate as long as you study her practice tests. She accepts NO late work
I wouldn't recommend any student her, she gives so much unnecessary assignments, she expects you to learn her online lectures at your time while at her class "it's just a quick review", she always has music, but her music bothers at times, and my best recommendation is take her if you really need to, if not drop the class
I dropped after three months. Felt like I had to teach myself she has all her notes on youtube and when you come to class it's her basically doing her practice exam in front of you. Doesn't even go over notes in class and tests are 80% failed them all. She plays boring music and is always talking about her kids and how vegan she is. I hated it.
She teaches the art of the proper maintenance of a math notebook, that's the most beautiful thing I've ever been taught. She can get confused though. The trick is lectures in the front and exercises in the back, then they'll meet in the middle and you don't waste paper.
Sharon has to be the best professor I've had at PCC. She is ambitious, very organized, funny, understanding, encouraging. She makes learning math easy and explains things in simple terms. She does assign a LOT of homework she could loosen up a bit on, but it's worth it for the practice if you take the class seriously. I recommend her to everyone.
I hate math, so I didn't care much for this class. She is a good teacher, though. The notes and homework are worth almost nothing, it's the tests that really matter. She gives out a TON of homework. She teaches through examples, which is amazing for people who learn by doing. She's lively and is very concise (versus complicated) with her teaching.
Really sweet lady but her teaching method is basically going over notes and videos of problem examples. Lots of homework and copying videos each week. Grade depends a lot of test scores, her final alone is worth thirty percent of your grade. You will have to really study a lot to do well. But she is helpful and willing to explain.
Gives way too much homework and has a weird mandatory way to fill out notes and homework. Not only do you have mymathlab online, you have multiple homework problems in the textbook, and you have to copy them word for word. Also, the notes you have to copy online basically. Very horrible learning environment. We concentrate on completing all work.
I didn't know College Professors still have to baby students in writing notes. Its tedious and really un needed the way she makes you do notes. You write some notes copied from a video, then you go on the website to print out notes to cut and paste into your notebook. Literally. Take your scissors and glue out and get to arts and crafts class.
For some reasons she took over our BUS14B class for the second half of the semester. She didnt teach 14B before so she messed up sometimes. Her teaching is fast. However, she is really willing to answer every questions, and she also went over the examples really detailed. I only didnt like that she checked our hw step by step & check
This professor is so unorganized its amazing shes still employed. She changes the dates for the exams based on how she feels, not how the class feels. She makes constant mistakes on the board that we have to correct, and sometimes her answers even contradict the textbook answers and she says the text is wrong. Its story time, not math time.
I'll admit, she's fast paced. Gives allot of hw, and makes a couple mistakes. HOWEVER ones things fersure!!! She's an AMAZING Prof!!! She has detailed examples. Goes over similar test questions. And makes room for extra credit. What more could you want? I liked it (math003) got an A.
She gives a lot of HW. She assigned textbook HW, which were usually around 90 problems, and online HW. She did give extra credit opportunities for every test with practice exams, which she goes over each problem in class. Only issue I had was the amount of HW, it was so overwhelming, I felt like I was always doing Math HW.
Worst teacher I ever had in my history of being a student. You wont learn anything and youre better off taking another professor. Theres like a total of 10 students or less after a total of 30 students were suppose to enrolled.
Please do not take her class! It may seem that a lot of students are trying to add her class but in the end theres always barely any students. If you can self-learn, self-teach for this class, youll be good but the professor doesnt care if you cheat or not and her way of thinking is unfair
She's a nice person but a horrible teacher. Does not teach anything, she literally just reviews math problems for the whole class period. She's also a very strict grader (mean score for most of the exams were 50%). However, she is very lenient with homework but the homework is extremely overwhelming.
She literally does not lecture. All she does is review practice exams to help you prepare for an upcoming exam. Her exams are the length of a packet because each page is 1 problem. Also, the homework she assigns for each chapter literally takes up an entire notebook. Literally you have to buy a new notebook for every chapter.
Professor Newman-Gomez certainly created an online platform with flexibility and dexterity that I truly appreciated. She has not only taught me calculus, but the beauty of a well organized notebook- a skill you can take to the REST of your academic endeavors. I would take all her classes if I could, because she is an exceptional professor.
So much homework that I got carpal tunnel. The class periods are spent going over practice problems. Do those practice problems and you'll get an 8% bonus on the exam. I cannot stress enough how much hw she assigns. Practice problems + hundreds of hw problems + hundreds of mandatory videos where you need to copy what she wrote. Due b4 each exam.
I am going to keep it one hundred everyone, this lady might be a good person, but she is probably one of the worst teachers I have had in my entire life. I do not know how she has her job still, she does not teach, she gives you so much hw that it is all you are worried about. If you are planning to take her DO NOT DO IT!!
Teacher has great personality but avoid the teacher. Class is not an easy A. Teacher gives no lectures but provides videos made from previous years. Strict with late work. Uses slader for homework-help. Tests are supervised through online website, webassign (but no partial credit). Gives extra credit. Drops lowest test score. But, avoid if you can.
Worst math teacher ive ever had. doesnt teach at all and has you watch videos from years ago in place of actual teaching. assigns a ton of homework from online and textbook. even during tests. notes are virtually useless to study with for test preparation. don't take under any circumstances, take anyone else or at another time
Please do not take this professor! She is so extremely rude and does not care about how you are doing in the class, I would try so hard and ask for help and she would always say look at the notes or the book. At the end of the semester, she said we couldn't contact her about our grades! please stay away from this teacher she is the worst.
Please don't take this professor! She SOMETIMES is nice but most of the time comes off rude. She is a tough grader and her lectures that she provides are super old and especially hard to read. Students with IEPs if we are struggling she doesn't care and that goes for any student really. Please avoid taking her course, trust me. I regret it!
The class was so difficult I had to drop. This professor does not know how to use technology and makes things like submitting assignments a lot harder than it has to be. Tried so hard in this class but had to drop when I found out the professor gave me 0's on all my assignments because I "didn't submit them correctly." Never taking an online class.
Horrible professor. Don't take. Doesn't teach or lecture at all, instead making you watch like 10+ pre-recorded videos each week to "learn" the material. Lots of homework too. Weekly text assignments (class is spent doing those together), online assignments, and the aforementioned videos (which you have to hand write copy down and turn in). AVOID.
Not very understanding, and her "assignments" are convoluted. I don't care about the C I might get in the class because I have already been accepted to UCLA, but if I were in any another semester of my academic career I would do a grade appeal. No late assignments, no matter if you got into a car accident or worse (no exaggeration).
This class is supposed to be fully in person, yet none of the lectures are done in person. You MUST watch pre-recorded videos that are many years old. Homework is worth 50% of your grade, while exams are only 15%. However, there is no partial credit on any exams, besides the final. If you need an in person lecture, consider another professor.
Notes are just examples made by the professor and no explanation whatsoever of the chapter. Lots of notes and doesn't really knows how to explain concepts. There were no partial credits for tests. She would let you do open not3s quizzes and a flashcard for tests we had to take them on Cengage webassign which was timed.
I can't believe I got a B in math. It is one of the most unenjoyable math classes I had so far. I spent an average of 3 hours/week copying her notes (Urgh, just give me more Math problems! I hate copying). 4 thick notebooks by the end (waste of time). Either quizzes or exams most of every week. The only good point is that she is a nice lady.
It truly breaks my heart to see such an utterly horrendous teacher. I've never encountered a more disorganized, dishonest and clueless teacher. All the homework is 10 year old yt videos that you must copy and GRADE YOURSELF in a notebook. prof does not even teach the material in class. prof is not even fit to teach preK. don't take this prof at all
choose another professor for math. ur welcome
She expected us to watch 20+ lecture videos + take notes on every video on the 1st week of class. Her entire class formatting is unorganized and expects students to devote their entire lives to this single class. Her notes are everywhere and messy, with a huge waste of paper. She may be nice and kind, but she should not be teaching Calc anymore.
Don't take this class unless you hate yourself. Sloppy canvas, convoluted assignment structure, and she expects you to watch like 10 lecture videos per section. Pick literally anyone else.
This professor is hot trash. My first year here and because of her I learned about rate my professors and learned a lesson to look at it before deciding on which professor I want. Her lectures are so long and boring and her notes make completely no sense. I genuinely don't know how she got her teaching degree. Don't choose this teacher.
Not very hard if you have a lot of time to sink into the class. Same assignments every week and test/quizzes are pretty similar to the videos. You need to write notes from a lot of videos and text problems.
