If you go to class and take good notes you shouldn't have a problem! She's very helpful!

Barrs is probably the best asset in GaSou's math department. If you attend class and take notes, she makes Calc a breeze for you!!!

Very clear. Gives good notes and posts them online. Attendance is required or you will fail the class. The homework gets tiresome in a hybrid class but she does extend the dates sometimes on harder lessons. I recommend her if you must take this class!

Mrs. Barrs was extremely sweet & helpful. Her lectures were clear and easy to follow and she worked examples out for you to see. If you're not a fan of math, you probably won't find the class periods interesting, but she'll do her best to make sure you understand. The majority of work was submitted online & if you stay on top of it, you'll be fine.

Professor Barrs is a great teacher. Her pace is reasonable, not too fast, not too slow, & her lectures are easy to follow. There are always opportunities to ask questions. She dumbs everything down & doesn't assume or act as though students already know how to do things, working out each problem step by step. Stay on top of the hw & you'll do fine.

I took the Hybrid College Algebra course and I loved having her as a teacher. I've never been good at math and she does an amazing job explaining things. Very easy to learn from. Always available through email and is a very easy going teacher. Best class I've taken at GSU. If you need to take this class take her as a professor!

Take her! She is very helpful and although class is mandatory she lets class out early. I took the hybrid class and if you missed a homework assignment or quiz she would open it back up for you. She tells you exactly what is on tests and quizzes.

She is very nice! I am not good at math but she is very helpful and goes through problems step by step. Since our grades are precisely recorded in my math lab, I knew I was supposed to get a 78 in the course but she bumped me to an 80. I would recommend her.

Most work is done online through My Math Lab, and homework and quizzes can be tried an unlimited amount of times. She drops the 4 lowest quiz and homework scores at the end of the semester. If you're willing to do the work, this class is an easy A.

Professor Barrs is a great math teacher. Attendance is required in her hybrid, but you can sleep, or play on your phone if you already grasp the concept. She is CONSTANTLY reminding students about due dates. She is flexible, and will extend dead lines if something is wrong. I'm certain her priority is to HELP you pass. She will go out of her way.

I took the hybrid class, but I think this was probably one of the easiest math classes I've ever taken. Everything is on the computer. Test are multiple choice. If you have som knowledge about highschool math, you'll be okay. GO TO CLASS. She takes roll and goes over important material. She's very helpful, gives notes to bring to class. Love her!

I took the hybrid algebra class, and it was super easy as long as you put effort to it. If you fail, that is completely your fault. She seemed pretty helpful, and she explained math very well. One of the best math teachers I've had.

This class is practically an online class. We met once a week and she gave us our notes (which are online) and then you do homework and quizzes on your own time. You schedule your own tests. She was very helpful when you needed it & was also funny. I got a 92 in the class.

Professor Barrs was very helpful and quizzes and homework are counted as a test grade. She is very easy to understand and you can do the quizzes and homework over until you get the grade that you want. As long as you go to class and pay attention you will make a good grade.

Professor Barrs is great! She is always helpful and always wants you to understand. If you go to class you will do fine. It is all up to you how you do in the class. The class consists of MyMathLab and if you can do the stuff on there, you will make a A. FOR tests, DO THE STUDY GUIDES.

She explains the material well and is very clear while doing so. MyMathLab homework is easy but the tests can be sort of challenging. This is a very time consuming class because it's math. She would even extend the assignment due date several times. Do the study guides to prepare for tests! You do have to work hard and actually understand the info.

I LOVED her! Recommend to ALL for college algebra! More than willing to help and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking for help! Definitely not out to get you. She wants you to do well as much as you do.

Such an easy class. You can retake the homework and quizzes as many times as you need to get the highest grade possible. I finished the semester a month early by working ahead. Great teacher and she cares for her students. Talks to you in class about football and whatever else. Definitely recommend and no reason each student cannot get an A.

This class is so easy, majority of it is online and you have to take the test at a Math lab on campus. If you need help, she will be glad to help you. But, this class was such a breeze to me. She was caring and would crack jokes here and there. Awesome teacher, if you have a chance take her! She even gave us extra credit one time.

Ms. Barrs was a really nice professor and would tell jokes throughout the lecture. The notes are online and you fill them out in class, but she goes through nearly every problem with you. Class was an easy A for me, but I've always been pretty good with math. Tests are taken in the Math Lab. Homework and quizzes on mymathlab w/ unlimited attempts.

I am taking algebra from Professor bars. She is incredibly helpful, and also send us positive individual emails about our progress. I wasn't able to understand a concept from the textbook and she took the time to write out several example problems and scan them to me, on the weekend. Expect homework but you can retake the quizzes online. Awesome!

If you get this professor, you're blessed. I had her for algebra and Pre-calculus. She goes over homework problems that people might have had difficulty with and also reviews problems that will be on tests. I wish I could take her for calculus 1. Would definitely take again

She is really nice and caring. Her class is really easy and she is always willing to show you a math problem more than once when needed. She gives you more than enough time to turn in assignments and they are really easy.

I took the hybrid class that met once a week, so you could only miss 2 classes. You have 2-3 homework and quizzes due every week except for the week after a test. 4 tests which are exactly like the test reviews, DO THOSE! Prof Barrs is super clear and takes things slow in class, she is the best! take her!!!

I took Barrs for Calculus I. I wish she taught the whole sequence, if she did, I would make an A for each course. Cal I was no different. I do not think anyone else could have taught it better than her. Take her if she offers to do Cal I again!

She is super nice and sweet, her lectures are extremely thorough in her explanations of problems, and while the class is large, if you just raise your hand or see her after class, she will answer any question about anything you are wondering about. Awesome Teacher.

You have to be able to hold yourself responsible for doing all the assignments online by the due date, but even if you miss there's just a small late deduction. You can't miss more than 2 class, but you only meet once a week and not at all on testing weeks. Her notes are clear and if you do the homework and quizzes you'll do great.

She is absolutely wonderful. She is funny and tries to make class more enjoyable. She does take attendance but starts forgetting to do it near the end of the semester. She is very willing to help thise who dont understand and will take her time to explain problems.

Professor Barrs is one of the nicest teachers I know, and she does a great job of explaining all the material. The only grades in this class are tests and homework but the homeworks are an easy 100 and worth just as much as a test. She is willing to give extra help to students s long as they take initiative and ask. I highly recommend her for math.

Professor Barrs is a GREAT professor. She is very helpful and understanding. I took MATH1111 as a hybrid course so it was kind of easy. Exams are online but taken on a certain day with her. I definitely recommend taking her test on paper. 10/10 recommend!

She lectures for a while and they can be boring but youre overall learning about the topic. She uploads the notes after which is also a huge help. I took the class fully online so the homework, exams, and quizzes werent technically graded by her, but her teachings helped me end with a good grade.

Professor Barrs is very understanding and patient. If you have a question in class she is always more than glad to take the time to answer. I took this course with another professor and failed, but got an A with her. Her class isn't easy but she understands that math doesn't come easy for everyone. One of the best professors I have had at southern.

Professor Barrs is my favorite professor Ive had at Southern thus far. It is a hybrid class so most is online. But she is very patient and understands some people might have more trouble than others. Very easy if you pay attention and she is always willing to help if you ask.

Professor Barrs is the nicest teacher Ive ever had. She is so understanding if something happens outside of class and you can not make it. There is about 2 homework assignments and quizzes due in one week, but thats about it. Very easy class!

Having Professor Barrs online was the best decision. She provides constant updates and announcements about due dates and assignments. It was really easy to follow along in her videos and would suggest to print out blank notes too. Lots of practice problems were provided and were really similar to the quizzes and tests.

She was a great professor!! I liked how she did two homework and quizzes due each week. The homework and quizzes are on a different website but you can access it through folio. There are four exams you take on folio with lockdown browser. Overall, the class was easy!

Wish she would go more in depth in her lectures but i understand that she doesn't have a lot of time to cover everything. She was really helpful throughout the semester and actually gave me recommendations for some private tutors when i had asked. Willing to go over the questions that i missed and explain them. Overall a really good person.

Professor Barrs is hands down the best professor at georgia southern. Knows what she is talking about, loves to help her students, genuinely cares about all her students. I had her for survey of calculus so obviously there was a good bit of homework but it honestly helped so much. If you have to take calculus take it with her, she is the best!

There is homework and a quiz due each week, but u can take multiple attempts on homework! Lectures make understanding calc easy. Just show up take notes, do the homework and you'll be fine! Her tests are easy. She allows you to bring formulas you might need and doesn't make them too long! Also offers extra credit just for showing up to class.

Mrs. Barrs is an awesome teacher. She went over the material slowly so its easy to keep up. You have lots of opportunities to ask questions but if you do not speak up she will assume everyone knows the matter and will move on. I took the hybrid college algebra so it was in-person lecture and homework, quizzes, tests, and textbook are all online.

She is a great professor. Lots of the stuff you learn in 1111 is stuff known from high school but she still takes the time to explain and answer questions. Her class is basically made up of tests, 2 homework assignments each week, and 2 quizzes each week. She is very easy to converse with and she lets you do hw or quizzes until you get an 100.

If you can, take this professor. She was amazing and so helpful in and outside of class. She provided everything I needed and if you missed a class was super helpful. She always posted blank and completed notes. She posts a lot of homework, but drops your lowest two at the end of the semester. Genuinely cares about you and your grade.

Professor Sharon Barrs is great, while she does take attendance, she is very understanding of life situations outside of the classroom. She always send out email for extra reminders or posting extra credits and notes online for those who missed class, she work with students to push back tests or homework's dates. You just also have to do your part!

She is a great teacher and truly cares abut her students. An A in the class is a 92-100 which is very annoying but that's the standard grading scale for algebra here. All of the homework and quizzes are online and you can take as many times as you want. If you want an A in the class make sure you do well on the tests especially the first one.

Her lectures were pretty boring,I mainly learned just by doing the homework/quizzes on Pearson. She does seem very genuine though always reminded us that if we needed help to not be afraid to come see her. It is a very simple course, minimal homework that you can do 1000 times for practice if needed and exams were identical to what we were learning

Very nice and understanding professor. Flexible schedule for student-athletes. The only con is the homework amount. it's able to be done in a week, but it's around 60 questions of practice problems and a quiz for every unit which can conflict with your schedule sometimes. but other than that she's great!

She is an amazing teacher! The textbook is online and automatically paid into your tuition. She doesn't move on until everyone's questions are answered. She cares about each and every student. The only downside is the homework which has a lot of questions with multiple parts however that is online too so she may not have fully made it.

Professor Barrs was a really great professor who made sure to walk through things during her lectures and made sure we understood it. There were times where she would go really fast but if you asked her to elaborate, she would slow down. So much homework though.

I truly regret not attending every class of hers. She is an amazing, caring, and understanding professor. She cares about you being successful! Tests total to around 70% of your grade, but if you go to class, you'll be prepared for them.

The class was similar to high school since it's an intro course, but as long as you do your homework, you can pass the exams. She gave us unit guides that we went through in class every class day, and she's a very understanding professor. I would definitely take the class again.
