Ms. Brill has created a very engaging and enjoyable class.
She is good at getting back to you when your ask a question. I feel that the content in the class was interesting and stuff everyone should know. It's a pretty easy A as long as you do the work your required to do. All in all it's a great class and easy to understand.
Pretty cool teacher. Would recommend
Pretty cool teacher
gives great feedback
I took her online Intro to Health Law and Ethics class and she gave timely feedback and comments as well as was very clear in her expectations and an overall good teacher. Would definitely recommend.
Discussion posts every week, quizzes every other week, and a midterm and final. Do the work and expect an A.
Take notes on the lectures you read online. Quizzes are fairly easy if you refer to your notes.
Less questions on tests
This is an online course that was also taught by Dennis Chapman. I enjoyed learning about medical laws and ethics in this class. There was a discussion every week and a quiz every two weeks. The class involves a lot of reading, but the instructors are very helpful and clear on expectations. There are also a lot of opportunities for extra credit.
easy class, and good feedback.
Very helpful teacher. This class requires lots of reading. Extra credit provided. Powerpoint presentation done.
As long as you do the work it all works out.
She is a great teacher and helpful.
Sharon is a wonderful teacher. It's an online class but she provides great feedback about the articles we have read for that week and the overall meaning of each article.
They provided all the reading materials, no txt book needed which was a bonus!
This class was super easy to follow and was well organized. All the content was online and sorted by week. I found it all easy to digest and informative. Sharon was responsive and fair.
Very educational class. Interesting topics that came up during lecture around health care. Enjoyed the case studies relating to legal and ethical issues around health care as well. Listen and study slides carefully, you'll do fine ;-)
Responds to your email quick
Sharon is very informative. Tests are not difficult but require reading and participation.
This class is not a difficult class and if you are doing everything on time you will get a good grade. There are lots of extra readings that you need but since there is no textbook required for this online course compared to textbook reading it is not too bad.
Good instructor with clear direction. Learned a lot and this course even opened my eyes to many topics.
Mid-term, Final, and a presentation are the only assignments given in this class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but a many of the test questions are over material that was presented in class. Tests are 30-40 questions. Questions are tricky. Presentation is with a partner.
The quizzes were tough. 20 questions but they covered material from two weeks so it was a little harder to remember all the material.
i will suggest this insttuctors to my friends.
Sharon is very knowledgeable regarding her subject matter. Lecture topics and points were a little bit over-explained for my liking. This can be frustrating if you like things straight and to the point. There isn't much work outside of class each week so attendance is important. There is a lot of material to study for midterm and final.
Sharon is nice and great teacher. Too much articles and presentations to study for final exam. If you keep up what teacher said then you will be OK.
Sharon was very clear on what was needed for each assignment. Her material gives a wide range of perspective with thought-provoking discussion questions. Each week she w-mails the class with a pat on the back and a brief summary on what the outcome of the discussion looked like. she was a great instructor for the Health Law and Ethics course.
Sharon is a great teacher. Shes very helpful. This class was also taught by Dennis Chapman. Theres no book required for this class. There are PowerPoint slides and articles for each topic every week. There are Midterm, Presentation, and the final exam. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit. I liked this class.
Nice and she doesn't give up a lot of homework.
Very informative materials to help understand the topics.
Sharon is a great teacher, and she is very helpful. I like this class.
Great class !
Sharon is a great teacher! She had clear expectations and was available to answer any questions. Had quick timely feedback as well. As long as you read the required readings, and do the weekly discussions you will do well in the class.
This class has no text book so going to class is necessary. The information is available outside of class to study however. Over all it was a interesting class.
Sharon gives a practical view on how law and ethics work within a hospital setting. While it's important and interesting to learn about the laws protecting patients and medical staff, it's fascinating to learn how those laws and codes of conduct shape the every day work of caring for patients.
I was very happy to hear about Sharon and meet her in the beginning term because she is a retired nurse which is what I want to be. She taught her section of the course so well, that I barely had questions after class.
Very informative and great pace with lectures
I enjoyed taking this class and learning more about law ethics and how they interact within the medical field. I would have liked to have more quizzes throughout the term to study and have a better idea of what would be expected to know on the midterm and final exams.
I like that we recieved a study guide for the second exam because their is a ton of material and different topics to go through
Tool MP 140 online with Sharon and Dennis. Class was great, they where very clear, flexable and knew thier stuff. I would love to take another class with them. Class is straight foward read the articles and you'll pass your quizes. I do hope they keep the online format, , it worked great for me.
Sharon was a good instructor, great lecture , get ready to learn and read. I really enjoyed this class; especially I am looking forward to work at the health care field. The health law and ethic class is extremely important. Thanks
Everything is clear. Discussions were very interesting.
Sometimes the test questions can be a little tricky, but all in all good class and teacher. The articles are really interesting, sometimes fairly long though. Make sure you study! quizzes account for a good portion of grade
This was an overall easy class, read the material and read what is asked as well as participate in the discussion and your good to go. I didn't spend much time with this class so it fits well if you're taking a hard class.
Great term with Sharon. She is very clear about expectation and grading. Fast response and very assisted in explaining concepts, or even issues with the internet/webs. The class is overall easy but you gotta work for it to earn an A. Love every week discussions to see different points of view over the issue. Highly recommended!!
Easy class. she takes attendance at the beginning of class. Homework is only to read two articles. Study guide given for exams. Extra credit opportunities. It is a long class but she gives breaks. She is always willing to help.
This teacher is very clear and great at responding to emails fast. Grades are also updated quick so you always know where you stand in the class. Class is easy if you follow instructions and follow the due dates. She provides study guides for exams, provides extra credit at the end of the term. Only thing I would say is their is a lot of reading.
You do have to participate in weekly discussions and read articles that are mandatory because you have a quiz every 2 weeks. There is no required textbook!
She is a really sweet person. Make sure that you pay attention in class because everything she lectures about is going to be on the mid-term and final exam. Sharon is always available when you need her. It's best to print out her slides and study them. Her study guides for the exams are pretty straight forward.
Really interesting class; reading is of contemporary issues that are in the news. Very thought-provoking. Professor is accessible and instructions are clear and grading is very fair. You know what you need to complete and when. Highly recommend this course.
I wouldn't take this professor again. The quizzes counted for way more than they should've and if you did bad on one it pulled your grade down. She didn't say anything other then you needed to do better on the quizzes.
I enjoyed taking this class. It was very educational and easy to understand.
Sharon Brill was very clear in her instructions which may be what I liked about her the most. Taking online classes is (I feel) more difficult then taking the same class on campus because oftentimes the instructions can be confusing and unclear. Sharon was very helpful in answering questions I had and explaining herself efficiently.
Sharon's story about her process for obtaining her degree on the first day really set the mood for the class for me. She's worked hard and knows what it's like to work and go to school. She explains everything to our understanding and (being an ethics class) let us express our own thoughts without telling us we're wrong. Enjoyed the class.
Great clear instructions. Well organized.
Sharon Brill was an excellent professor. Very organized and respectable. There was always clear outlines for what was due and I felt like I learned a lot!
I took Intro to Health Law and Ethics MP140 taught by Sharon Brill online. Professor Brill is very well organized with the course material and responds in a timely matter to emails. She does offer 10 points of extra credit at the end of the term which I think is helpful and great.
Not a ton of reading. Lecture's were straight to the point. Discussions weekly, Quiz every couple weeks. As long as you stay on top of your work you'll pass. I got a 100 on all assignments. A's and B's on the Quizzes. Not at all time consuming.
Really nice teacher, by far my best teacher this term.
She gives good feed back, and when you are behind on the work she will help you catch up t get points up to get a better grade. her lectures are actually good she has jokes from time to time.
She is clear about her expectations and sets you up for success. Our class was very interactive, which made learning the material fun and simple. If you do the work and show up you can get a good grade. She is also a knowledgable, thoughtful and personable instructor.
Sharon is really sweet and caring. Very organized. The whole class was based on power point slides and there was no textbook required. Her tests were somewhat clear but yet it was a bit confusing at times when the tests were taken. Most of the class wasn't happy with the grade they would get on the tests and definitely pulled our grades down.
This class is easy and you learn about interesting topics. A lot of it is opinion based, and there's a lot of history as well. I appreciate there was no book for this course and the instructors took their time creating lectures.
She is very nice and helpful! I recommend taking her class because her lecture based out on PowerPoints so you dont need to buy a textbook! She explains every detail.
MP 140 - Health Law & Ethics. Not an online class but utilizes PCC's online class tools. Lots of reading of articles outside of class that are discussed in class. Lectures are interactive, attendance isn't mandatory but if you aren't in class you'll miss the info that will be on the midterm and final. I enjoyed the class and would recommend.
Sharon is very thoughtful and a wealth of knowledge. She is amazing at listening to the various 'opinions' of her students, without making judgment, and guides everyone to determine the ethicality and legality of common issues in healthcare. If you have an opportunity to take her class, DO IT!
Good to take this class. Learn alot.
I really enjoyed this class a lot! All the information taught was relevant and I really liked reading about ethical and legal issues happening in our area. The professor did a good job outlining exactly what was expected of us, and was a very fair grader when it comes to the discussions.
I think the instructors were great and the class was managable
The workload for this class felt pretty heavy, but that might just come with the territory with Law and Ethics. Lots of reading! The student powerpoint projects are incorporated into the final exam, which seems a little odd to me, but overall it was a good class and Sharon is very helpful!
Awesome instructor with clear guidelines to follow and clear view of how the grading will be. Easy to communicate with and usually will respond within that same day. Would give amazing feedback on discussions posted and respected everyone's opinions. Lots of reading but very worth while and educative.
Be prepared. Make sure you pay close attention to the lectures as she goes off the slides she will hint when things will be on the finals.
I really enjoyed this class. Very interesting lectures and also a very organized course. The weekly objectives were clear. Discussions due every Friday and quizzes are due on Sundays. Good communication with Sharon. Just read the lectures, breaking news topics and also participate in the class and you will do well. Trust me!
I appreciated how clear the weekly objectives were. She was always giving clear expectations and fast feed back/response when challenges arose. I will be looking for classes taught by her in the future!
I do not like no-textbook part
I liked the way she posted materials. I had class with her online. I hope I'll meet her one of these days. I know she's also an amazing person same as amazing teacher. Keep up the good work.
Very polite
This professor gives you feedback abou your work, more clear and organized, However, she's stricted on due date, if you miss the due date for some reason, she gives you 0, instead of some points
Very Professional with an extensive background in topics covered.
She's awesome
Easy class
The course was team taught. Seemed like the other professor was a more visible and interactive.
She was very amazing for doing an online course, most instructors do not take the time to email the students about what will be graded on what weeks as well as what is to be used for future assignments.
Sharon is very knowledgeable in Medical Law & Ethics as she was a Nurse and Administrator for many years. She explains the laws well, and she tries to answer any and all questions students may have in regards to the related material. There are only 2 tests, the midterm and final exam, so both cover a lot of material. She is a very fair grader.
This class was amazing and is something I wish I could take over again. I was chronically late to this class due to outside circumstances, and normally I wldn't care but this instructor truly shows up for her students. this class had 3 graded assignments: Final, MT and 1 presentation. Show its not something I'd recommend if testing is hard 4 you!
I really enjoy taking MP140 with Professor Brill. She is a very knowledgeable instructor and will tell you things the way they are. She likes people to come in on time, and dislike people taking longer breaks. So, be on time. In this class, you will have in class discussions, so if you are a little introvert, this may be intimidating. Do not worry
My Professor was okay, I would probably take her again if I didnt have many other options. The lessons were not hard but you dont really know what to study when it comes to the test. The test was hard, somethings were not on the study guide so you really have to focus and try your best.
This class was mostly lectures on the class but I wish that it was more interactive and the homework involves reading some articles before the class because the end of class usually consists of discussion of articles. There was one presentation that you must do with a partner and two exams . it is a great class and informative.
Sharon is a amazing teacher, i had her for Intro to Health law and ethics. The course itself is very easy but you MUST be prepared for tests. Course is very lecture and class discussion heavy which is nice but you are mainly graded on the midterm, power point presentation and final all of which you must study for very hard. very homework light
Neat class with highly relevant material!
Sharon is a retired nurse with a kind soul. Do not take advantage of her kindness. Class is fairly simple, no homework and multiple choice exams. Show up, participate in discussions, and study for the exams. Easy A.
Nice teacher. lecture is pretty heavy. make sure you pay attention and do the weekly readings. test could be a little more clear but either than that solid
Sharon is very nice and gave examples when doing lectures. We did not use a book at all. She provided articles for us to read and discuss next class about them. She also provided a study guide.
I feel like shes a great instructor but there might of been some gaps were we didnt meet
She taught us the first half of the online class. Not matter said from her. Grading was clear and to the point.
Great class, really enjoyed all of the content and learned a lot. Professor was awesome, would definitely recommend the professor and class!
the only issue i have is no study guide for quizzes
The Medical Law and Ethics class online is very interesting and as long as you participate honestly you will be fine. I enjoyed this class. I think it would have been more fun to take in a classroom but it was only offered online when I had to take it. Good class though with a moderate amount of work to do.
Very organized class. Expect to do the same thing every week, lots of readying but since we have no text book it makes sense. Made it easy for us to reach out and ask questions if needed.
The topic are clear and new, the required reading are suitable for lectures. The syllabus is clear and easy to follow.
The outside reading material is fantastic and really gives a wide view and interesting perspective on medical law and ethics. Thought provoking interesting material.
Really enjoyed the discussions she lead and articles she posted. Current events and a little history. Really enjoyed!
Honestly, all i gotta say is do the work and turn it in on time - easiest A for an online class. The only thing i didn't like were too many readings for a three credit class. Those readings will be on the quiz so make sure you read them carefully. Besides, it was a very interesting class with a great professor. I would take her again for sure.
Fun and easy class.
I'm glad I took the MP 140 course. It will give you a broader perspective on current legal and ethical issues in health care. Just be prepared to read and discuss!
I did not have to contact the professor much due to not really having any questions. The one time that I did, she was quick to write back and we got my question settled easily.
Sharon is straight forward and tells you what needs to get done. If you pay attention, you should have no problem passing this class easily
Average course material, nothing extremely challenging.
You will need to read a lot with this professor.
Very Good instructor with helpful lectures and Readings. The tasks and assignment is not too much and not too hard. I like this class.
Good instructor. The materials are helpful.
Sharon collaborated with another instructor to teach the course. Her expectations are clear, she is fair, quick to respond and keeps the material relevant. If I had a chance, I would absolutely take a class with her in person. She seems very kind and really wants students to succeed. Because she is able to foster this, I have been able to succeed!
I took her class online. The class expectations are very clear, and the set up for the class was easy to follow. It was a good amount of work, but not overwhelming. I'd recommend taking this class!
Professor Brill made this semester very fun and easy, her grading is clear, and if you read the lectures and do the discussions, this class should be the easiest one you take.
Taking the online class with Sharon Brill was a wonderful experience she is very clear of what she wants and how she is going to grade it. I would recommend her to anyone that had to take MP140.
Sharon Brill is a personable teacher who make grading very clear and there are quizzes ever other week and no mid-term with end of the term final. You will do fine if you participate in the online discussions.
Great communication!
A lot of material and a lot of reading but none of the material given was a waste. So Thankful for the course because it had me thinking outside of school and work but myself and family members if they were aware of certain laws and rights they had. I would recommend this class to anyone that is pursuing a career in the medical field.
Sharon Brill is an amazing teacher. The goal of MP 140 is truly to learn the material but most importantly to think critically. I love the set up of this class and I love how responsive and attentive Sharon is. This class felt the most like an in-person class out of all the online classes I have taken previously.
She is really a good instructor. She made the lesson very clear and easy to understand. Great communication.
Just fine. Took course because it was obligatory. Expect to succeed with minimal participation.
She was easy to communicate outside class and she made sure that she answered each question the best to her ability. Shes really week organized and the lectures are easy to follow. There is quite of reading to do but it will help you with quizzes and final test, at the end of the day. I would definitely take this class again if I could!
It was a great class and very informative .
Amazing teacher with lots of good feedback. Be prepared to read though because there are lots of articles, some required and will be on quizzes and some not. Easy class to pass as long as your participate in discussion.
Wish there was a way to have had a chance to turn in late work for partial credit instead of losing out on all points.
Just wish there was a chance or option to turn in late homework for partial or some credit than no credit at all. Overall great course and easy to follow online.
This course was very challenging and thought provoking, as well as interesting. There was a huge amount of reading multiple articles and lectures, as well as quizzes on a bi-weekly basis and a discussion assignment every week. Plus a partnered presentation. I felt it was a lot of work, considering all my other classes and commitments. Not good
Gives grades back in a timely manner. Quizzes every other week, must read articles to do good on quizzes. Discussion post matter! Only one big project.
Very intresting topics so makes an easy reading, assignement. Lots of participation for an online class but over all not difficult. There is a presentation project that has to be completed with another classmate. Quiz's are straight forward so if you do the assignments you can pass.
Sharon brought a lot of knowledge to this course. She was very informative, helpful throughout the course, and gave clear instructions/feedback for each week's module. I learned a lot of valuable information that will come in handy when I'm in a medical setting. I highly recommend this course!
Sharon has been an excellent source of information and the topics that were discussed in this class were very informative and not as boring as a law and ethics class would be thought to be. Sharon's strengths with this class was the organization of the course and her clear grading criteria. End of term group work, weekly discussions, bi-weekly quiz
Great instructor who provided very interesting topics to learn and discuss. Quizzes are very straight forward as long as you read the lectures and articles.
Will let you know if you forget to turn in assignments.
She is a friendly instructor. Her lectures are very clearly and easy to understand. She provides a lot of information of law and ethic in health and it is very useful and helpful. She gives the breaking articles that require reading every week, but those are helpful to understand because those indicate the specific case related to law and ethic.
Great instructor. Took the class online and it was interesting and relevant. No book required. Weekly discussion posts, written lecture, a few quizzes, one project with partner, and a final. Quizzed from the lecture and articles that are posted. Not a difficult class if you read the light amount of material and do the discussions.
Professor Brill is an amazing instructor however you have to get your assignments in on a timely manner.
Professor Brill is very adamant that you get your assignments and discussions in on time. The test and quizzes are straightforward. It is very clear what is expected of you.
The material we covered was interesting and the articles provided covered everything we needed to know for quizzes.
I enjoyed taking Sharon's class. The lecture information online, is your textbook and must be read to do well in the class. I enjoyed the Breaking News articles (also required reading) as they are relevant to what is going on in the world today, especially in Oregon. Highly recommend taking the class.
Lots of reading but very interesting topics to learn about. Really enjoyed taking this class.
It was very interesting class. Sharon created respectful learning environment. I enjoyed learning and reading classmates' opinions on the discussion broads. Personally, I felt it was a reading heavy class. And her exams were kinda tricky for me. Overall, I liked it!
This class was so easy, that it felt like it was negatively impacting students. There were no requirements for the written assignments, so many people just repeated the main idea of the required readings in 1-2 sentences, without citing any sources. However, you could exceed the expectations, but receive 0 points if it was just minutes late.
Instructor isnt that good at understanding personal matters or would not allow any late work for lesser points so be sure you submit everything on time. Heavy reading and must do a presentation slide for a project and a closed book final as well .
Doesn't let you turn anything in late. Won't even let you make one mistake. If you miss something, even once, by accident, won't give you any points. Tests and quizzes are hard and very random questions from all of the posts in the online D2L. You have to really take notes of smallest details because she asks random questions of the smallest points
This class is heavy reading, a lecture, and breaking news articles, all the quiz will be from them. So make sure to read those and take a note. Just makes sure you do all the work on time, don't be late to summit the work.
I really enjoyed Ms. Brill as my professor. I took an online course. Although I did not see her in person, I got to know her by online video overviews of the week to come. The homework load was moderate, the tests were just hard enough to keep you on your toes. I liked the mandatory discussions that we did online. Great teacher!
Ms Brill is a tough grader, but as long as you complete the work assigned in a timely manner (HIGHLY important that you don't miss deadlines), you'll likely pass the class without an issue.
Super easy to pass this class if you just read the 'Required Reading', which is not a lot! Loved this class and the teacher was really nice.
Honestly a great class with useful insights on law and ethics. The class doesn't have many assingments, so if you slack you won't pass. Discussions are intriguing and quizzes are based off of the readings she assigns every week. Really nice class that involves medicine and law.
really good teacher. Interesting topics to learn about. participation is required but its really nice to read about other's opinions. really good and interesting class really recommend
Sharon was a solid choice. Her assignments are fun, easy quizzes straight from the material, and she gives great feedback. However, don't miss any assignments or will affect your grade a lot! If you put in the work, you'll get the grade you deserve.
I took this class as a requirement for the program I am in. Assignments and projects have strict deadlines, no flexibility with that. I dont like reading so much and this class requires a lot of reading. I did like the amount of time we where given to complete our project. What I would change is how we get quizzed from the breaking news article's.
This was a super easy class with minimal reading and writing. There are 9 discussions, 4 quizzes, a group project, and a final exam. No proctor was required which I really appreciated. The quizzes and final exam are timed. Not sure why some students are complaining about "strict deadline policy" - this is college??? Submit your assignments on time.
Relatively easy class as long as you do ALL of the reading.
This is your pretty standard online course. The structure is as follows: 1. Review content 2. Discussion board weekly with 1 peer response 3. Quiz and/or essay question weekly If you do the work you will pass. There's extra credit as well, and one group project.
I took my first online class with Sharon and it was a really good experience. The class is very organized and clear with the expectations. I would totally recommend this professor.
Took an online class. Class was well structured. Had a good balance of assignments and content. Very heavy on articles for reading. Overall I would recommend her.
I took this class as a requirement for my medical assisting program. I was worried it would pile on more work in addition to my program but it was totally manageable! The quizzes were every other week which was so helpful and the reading wasn't a heavy load! There was an article every week never more than a page or two. Definitely would recommend!
Just as any online course you have to read and watch the videos because there will be discussions on it. There is deadlines you must meet. If you stay on top of your work the class if easy!
There's a LOT of reading but it's interesting reading. But quizzes are based on those reading so it's difficult to remember every single detail. Quizzes can be reworded to make more sense.
This course was interesting and good prep for grad school interviews in the health field. I appreciated the quick responses from Professor Brill and welcoming climate to have open discussion between classmates. I also appreciated that there is no textbook to purchase and reading focus more on real-life current events and scenarios. Def recommend!
It is a good intro to laws pertinent to practicing medicine in the state of Oregon
It was a very informative and useful class. Lots of reading but so worth it. You learn new things because of this class.
This class was very informative and interesting. There was two instructors one for the first half one for the second half. Even with this the organization was great and the class was easy to follow. Both instructors graded fairly and they both expected the same thing. I would definitely take more with these instructors.
MP140; Intro to Health Law and Ethics was such a great class with Mrs. Brill. I would definitely recommend her as a professor. The class is not heavy and Mrs. Brill is very specific and allows you to understand what she is trying to say.
always present online to answers to our questions
I enjoyed the class. It's straight forwards. Doing everything on time and going by the class schedule you will do good!
Really good teaching plan, instructors have weekly wrap-ups, weekly discussions and quizzes aren't that bad as long as you do the reading.
Appreciated the feed back when I did not understand the online home work.
I didn't have much interaction with Sharon since My class was online, but when I did reach out to her, she was understanding and fair.
Sharon was such an incredible instructor, and I couldn't have been happier to take her class. It really opens your eyes to the laws and ethics of our Health Care system. I feel like, because I took the online course, there was a bit more difficulty in retaining all the articles that we read, due to the fact that there was no one to talk to about it
I liked how Sharon is a retired RN so she gives great info especially from her perspective as a retired RN, expectations were clear and straight forward. The modules were set up a bit confusing to me and there was excessive readings that were posted, I feel like I would have been better of with an actual textbook. Overall good class!
I took the class online. The class is well organized and straight forward. Read a lot and remember what you read to help you on quizzes and exam.
Professor Brill is overall a good professor. I took her Intro. to Health Law & Ethics course online this past spring quarter. I really liked the course. There are lots of interesting readings and she teaches relevant info that is involved in our day to day lives. Honest participation is necessary to succeed in this course. I would recommend. :)
This class was okay. Zero personal interaction from the teacher. Very straight forward class expectations. Quizzes are short but cover large amounts of information. This was an online class, but I still wish we could have seen her face or had a few personal interactions from her throughout the 11 weeks.
Class was very interesting and eye-opening. Lots of food for thought. The course was entirely online with lots of readings and virtual discussions. I would have enjoyed an in-person class with actual discussion, but was glad due to COVID to have the opportunity to have the opportunity to learn virtually.
This class was a requirement for me to complete the medical assisting program. Unfortunately I got a little confused on when replies were due so my grade suffered a bit (Usually an A student). Discussions are pretty easy and the work is whats to be expected. Interesting material and lots of reminders about quizzes! Would take again!
REMOTE LEARNING!! This class was great to take, the quizzes/tests are very heavily based on the lectures. Especially terms or legal/federal issues that are discussed. Articles also mentioned in the lectures are also in the quizzes! Prepare beforehand and you should be good. I recommend reaching out the moment you have difficultly.
This can be an easy class if your good at memorizing a lot of reading material or it can be a bit difficult if your not good at memorizing. Responds quick to emails. You cant really make up work in this class. So extra credit is rare and you cant receive extra credit till the term is almost over.
This class is very informative! That being said, the class is based off of lectures that can be pretty lengthy and packed with information. There are also news articles that are read every week. There aren't a lot of graded assignments so it is easy for your grade to drop if you don't do well. DO THE READING.
Good instructor, solid class with clear instructions and solid work.
Very thought-provoking course. I enjoyed it and the class discussions taught me a lot. Great class!
There is a lot of reding to do and some of quizes and discussion post to do.
This class was very enjoyable to take and it wasnt too overwhelming with the amount of work.
Even though it was an online class, the discussions count as participation and you have to participate to pass, which I think helps keeps everyone engaged. The material both assigned and optional was very interesting and always relative to real life matters.
Content and subject matter was interesting and included current events.
The lectures are very good.
Lots of reading! However they're not too bad, just articles. There are discussions every week that you HAVE to participate in! Yes, that includes replying to a classmate's post as well. Towards the end of the term a slideshow had to be done with a partner, but the topics were fairly easy. Overall an easy A class. Professors were nice.
There is a lot reading but as long as you read the lecture and the articles, you will make it through the class just fine!
Good class, a lot of information. Stay on top of lectures and reading material and you'll do fine. Take advantage of the extra credit opportunities.
Professor Brill comes across as kind, caring, and genuinely passionate about the subject matter, which is motivating. She makes herself available to help when needed.
Very nice and replied to email the same day. Love the class and not much homework but lots of reading. I would recommend this class to other student.
This class was co-taught. I did not have much interaction with this professor.
Good professor. There are two professors, I was surprised. A lot to read, mostly interesting. A few test questions misworded and some answers do not match material provided to you. If you do your work as described and review information before test, you should be fine. One group project. Not a lot of graded work to accumulate extra points.
This class taught me many things about the law and ethics in the medical profession.
Professor is easily reachable via email and gives great feedback to students in need.
I think its fair to say, academia and class participation not taken into account for an oops. Partial credit for a standard assignment late is not offered. Make sure you pay attention to due dates.
There are reading lectures each week. Every week you'll learn something new. There are extra credit opportunities. Overall, this instructor is very helpful, she would always answer my emails on time and clear up any questions I had.
Sharon is really straightforward with what she is looking for in the class. The class is organized and easy to navigate. As long as you do the reading and stay on top of the work, you'll do well in this class. There is also no textbook needed to be purchased which is really nice!
This was a great class.
I learned quite a bit of helpful information regarding Health Law and Ethics. There was a lot of reading to complete each week but I enjoyed reading the Breaking News articles. The tests were multiple choice, which I loved! We did have a powerpoint presentation to complete with another student, of our choice. Overall, it was a great class!
Her class is very straight forward. A discussion post and a few required required readings per week. Quizzes every few weeks. The readings were pretty interesting and not excessive. There are extra credit points at the end of the term you can earn. All in all I would take this class again.
There is lot to read, but the information is important to learn. You also have 4 opportunities for extra credit that are easy and not very time consuming. Great for turning that high B into an A.
This is the moray interesting class I have ever take! The materials are so easy and educational. The instructors are easy to communicate with. Definitely, I would recommend this class for you. I like to take it again!
Overall a great class!
There is a lot of reading in this course, but it isn't as heavy as long stay you take notes which will help with the supplemental reading and preparation for the test. Group projects are doable. I enjoyed the course due to how relevant these topics are in healthcare today.
Great class, would definitely recommend as it helps stay up to date with current world problems. Gives opportunity for extra credit and reaches out quickly if any questions or concerns.
Awesome teacher. She is always ready to respond to students who have questions. Everything she posts on the announcements are very helpful and informative. A long as you do the weekly discussions and participate where needed, it would be very hard to fail this class. Would highly recommend to take this class!
Every two week we have to do a quizzes, and every week we have to do discussion. There is a lot of article to do
Easy if you pay attention. Professor literally gives you clear instructions and due dates which are very manageable. Few readings and open discussions.
Sharon is very clear in her expectations, and if you do as she asks, you'll get a terrific grade. The class is very interesting and timely, and it's useful regardless of your field of study. If you're a human being dealing with other human beings, the class is applicable. Quizzes every other week, a final quiz, plus a project. Great class!
The discussions MATTER. She reads everyone's each week and gives feedback on them.
I have to say, I was a bit nervous coming into this class and it being online, but it has been completely amazing. The instructor makes it very easy to follow and makes you feel very involved.
I was worried this class was going to be a bit of a heavy load, but it wasnt at all. Everything was laid out super clear and it was easy to follow along. Not a lot of homework either, I could finish everything in one day, which worked really well for me. I also didnt get burnt out. Would definitely recommend this class and instructor
Sharon Brill is a good professor. I am taking health and law ethics with her, so far everything is very easy. We have weekly discussions, quizzes, one group project, and required readings. I would say that the lectures are heavy but as long as you read the lectures and required readings, you will do fine. She also offer extra credits.
This class challenged me, so I don't recommend it for students who have language barriers. The instructions were not clear enough for me to understand them. I like the professor
Sharon Brill is a good professor. I am taking health and law ethics with her, so far everything is very easy. We have weekly discussions, quizzes, one group project, and required readings. but overall easy class.
Teacher is always helpful and a fair grader. She gives many opportunities for extra credit and allows students to learn in a fun environment.
Easy class, just follow the rubric, spend time understanding the reading and you get an A. Downside is the online experience lacked personal comments from the instructor. I would have valued input from the academic faculty on individual posts.
Hard quizzes, lots of articles
I really enjoyed this class with professor Brill. Shes straightforward, has clear expectations but isnt over the top with assignments. The work load is fair for this class. There is a group project but just start early and split the work with your partner and youll be fine! She is also a fair grader! Would take again.
I took MP140 remotely. The class was fairly easy as long as you put in the work and manage your time well. There were weekly discussions and biweekly quizzes. There was also a partner project which was the only difficult part due to communication issues since it was all online. Overall it was a very interesting class!
Gave lots of reading homework but very informative and helpful. I appreciated how quickly my questions/email were answered.
Didn't respond to emails often
I enjoyed class so much and I really appreciate how much Professor Brill did to support the students throughout the term. Although it was fully online, I got so much out of her course.
Just do the weekly work and you'll do fine in this class. There wasn't a heavy workload for this class, there was a discussion post, weekly readings, and a quiz every other week. This teacher is also very understanding when something comes up where an assignment may be late and I'm super thankful for that.
This is the 2nd class I have taken with Sharon Brill and I highly recommend.
Sharon's very nice, she communicates well. The class is all online, & I hope it could become part zoom & part online. Just b/c I'm someone tht feel like I need some clarification tht I'm getting the right point out of the lecture/readings. And I feel like for readings have a focus topic to help focus on the points we will be quizzed on.
This is a good professor.
Great professor, all the class materials were very clear and easy to understand.
A fun class that challenges the mind! Both professors were great and co-taught fairly!
Sharon was a pleasant professor. The course was completely online, so I did not feel like I really got to connect with her, but her content was informative!
I enjoyed this class. There were discussions posts and reading articles every week, 4 quizzes, and 1 group project at the end. The lecture was informative. If you read the lecture and articles every week, you will get good grade.
Professor Brill is open to learning and teaching you the materials outside of the online classroom. Just email her with questions. The class requires groups and individual participation in the discussion. Your participation helps you navigate the difficult subjects of laws and ethics in healthcare.
Sharon is such a genuine teacher. I had her for MP108 Health Career Essentials [Spring 2022] Although the class is only three credits she gives you a LOT of homework. It's not all in vain though she truly wants her students to suceed. She gives really good feedback too. You just gotta put the work in. It's worth it though.. She is I mean (: S
I thoroughly enjoyed this class as it tested and pushed me to the best of capabilities.
Great and informative class
Sharon Brill is very communicative to the class about her expectations. The grading is clear, the assignments are manageable, and she gave Medical Assistant students a resource for taking their AAMA on legal terms. I Would take her classes again.
She is great but just let you know that this class needs to read a lot.
Professor Brill was a great professor. Even though the class was online, she made expectations very clear and provided us with very thought provoking class materials. Communication with her was easy and she responded quickly to questions. You will get a lot out of this class if you do the readings and participate in the discussions!
Sharon was easy to communicate with, Very responsive
Professor Brill is a passionate instructor, and doesn't let her enthusiasm for the intricacies within healthcare overwhelm her care for student's understanding of the subject. She does an excellent job of not telling, but demonstrating with examples, how difficult distinguishing right from wrong can be in certain healthcare-related scenarios.
Straightforward class. Unforgiving with due dates. Limited professor-student interaction.
Make sure you check due dates for discussions because if late expect no points given. Otherwise, clear grading.
Sharon brill was a good and organized professor. Each assignment was graded separately, it would have been great if we could see our overall percentage.
. Professor Brill was a great professor. Even though the class was online, she made expectations very clear and provided us with very thought provoking class materials. Communication with her was easy and she responded quickly to questions. You will get a lot out of this class if you do the readings and participate in the discussions!
This professor was pretty good. She communicated the expectations of the class well. The only thing I didn't like (which isn't necessarily her fault) was that the absolute busiest week we had was on a holiday week and I felt like I lost out on family time due to the amount of work due.
Really liked her feedback and she was really good about communicating through email! Loved this class!
Sharon was a nice and interesting instructor with a lot of experience in the medical field. Every week you had written lectures, a discussion, and a "breaking news" article to read (an article on some relevant issue). Every few weeks we had closed notebook quizzes. There is also a student presentation with a partner you need to do for a good grade.
Lectures were very interesting. They are usually long, there's weekly discussion posts that were thought provoking, breaking news articles, and a quiz every 2 weeks. Only problem I had was that for quizzes and exams there is a lot of info to memorize(sometimes unnecessary info). So don't just read the material, understand and memorize as well.
this class was very interesting and well caught by an instructor who really cares about her students and wants them to succeed
Pretty easy class, mostly discussion posts and reading news articles. A lot of the material seems heavily re-used between classes.
Sharon is a good teacher with a lot of experience in this field. Lectures is very interesting and easy to understand. Teacher provides students very thought provoking class materials. I recommend other students take her class.
Great teacher with organized lectures. She responds the concern email very quick
This class and proffessor Brill were about what I expected for a online ethics class. It is easy to keep up with the work, but there is no audio lecture, just a TON of reading. If you are an audio or kinesthetic learner, this is not the course for you.The material was interesting and interactive. I would take this course with this instructor again.
This class is pretty easy as long as you put in the effort. As long as you keep up with the work and make sure you're turning in everything on time, you shouldn't have to worry about getting a good grade!
Professor Brill does a good job of outlining the requirements for succeeding in her class and provides quick, clear feedback throughout the term. She responds quickly to e-mails and questions. There is a Final Exam which makes up about one quarter of your over-all grade, which is preferrable to those Final Exams that determine your entire grade.
Lectures can be tough to read and are pieced together from multiple sources. Tons of outside sources/news articles that we need to know. Quiz questions are extremely detailed and are sometimes subjective; also don't always come from any of our material. Weekly discussion posts, 4 quizzes, final and a group project, extra credit (incl. this post).
Professor Brill was an excellent instructor! It was great that she made it clear that everyone has a different perspective on what's right and wrong.
was a good class for starting out my first year of getting my MA certificate.
Dr. Brill actually cares deeply for her students and wants all of us to succeed. She is flexible with questions and requests. She is very clear about the expectations each week, and actually reads our discussion posts. We have great discussions as a class and I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Such a great professor. Weekly lecture is easily structured and understandable.
Just wants the work done, does not seem very supportive in student needs, but if you don't need instructor help, shes good.
The class was easy to follow and understand, the prof did a good job of making update posts and give us advanced warning for due dates and special projects/exams. Overall a good and simple class to take with them.
The instructor was very dedicated and attentive . Enthusiastic to help students.
This is a solid intro course and good overview of the subject. Instructor Brill is organized and the timing of discussions, quizzes and assignments is well spaced out. She tried to make the subject matter interesting. I found myself putting about an hour each week into the course. She knows the material and how to teach on line.
She made the class clear and understandable.
The work done every week is fairly consistent, mainly readings and weekly discussions, and if timed well isn't a lot of work to worry about. The material learned is really interesting as it brings in past cases. This class is really big on listening other people's opinion and respecting them for it. Gives good feedback and reads discussion posts.
I found Sharon Brill to be very thoughtful and informative with her course structure. Including many topics and reading material that really opened my eyes to how crazy the healthcare journey has been through time. It's always good to stay informed about both the past and potential effects it could have on us today.
She explains the class structure at the beginning of the term, then after that is easy to follow. Makes guidelines to succeed in the class clear.
This is online class, which included weekly discussion and responding to peer post, along with 4 quizzes, group project and a final exam. This class had a lot of interesting topic that is covered. This class is not too difficult as long as you are able to meets deadline and have good study habits.
The class was very informative. No open book quizzes. Extra credit opportunities.
Was very informative about the material and topics of the class.
I really enjoy taking this class. It was very helpful for my future major.
I took this course asynchronously and loved it. The content was engaging and I feel like I learned a lot even though I did not take this course for credit.
Sharon was a great instructor for MP 140, clear instruction on content, responds fairly quick to emails, and has a consistent structure each week.
Take this class if you want to learn about health law and ethics!
This was a full online course and material was easy to stay up to date. Just make sure your finish your things when she posts.
Material was very interesting, be ready for a group project and stay on top of notes and any additional articles that are given. Overall relaxed class if you do your work weekly and your good to go.
Enjoyed material posted! Grade criteria was very clear.
Sharon was a great instructor and always made sure to do a week wrap up and discuss the discussion for that week. Grading Criteria was very clear and the material we learned in the class was fairly interesting! The class was sorta relaxed as long as you put in the work. Just make sure to stay on top of the work and you'll be good!
Professor Brill is very clear on her expectations and helpful with feedback. She allows adequate time to have assignments done and writes out a clear list of items to study for that will specifically be on the final exam. Homework is straight forward and the quizzes are easy as long as you read the lectures. I would recommend her for this class!
I was able to schedule a meeting with Sharon. The feedback she gave me was very helpful and gave me hope that I could do well in the class. Thank you Sharon!
She is a good teacher but doesn't update her test info(dates) Other then that. Pretty good!
The class had great information and all exceptions were clearly stated in the beginning. She made the class enjoyable to take.
Fair grader. Discussions topics were interesting. There is a nice mix of current events as well as a group project. Project wasn't too difficult, but it depends on who you get paired with and what topic you end of getting. She was very clear about expectations and quizzes all came from online lectures.
Sharon's class was well organized and she presents health law and ethics topics in an easy to understand manner. The course syllabus and scheduled are detailed, so you know what topics will be presented and what assignments are due each week. Grading criteria was clear and fair. It was an interesting class.
Professor Brill is a good instructor. She gave clear instructions every week for assignments, quiz, etc. I took MP140 this term. She was available when needed and replied when required!
Sharon Brill is a very rude teacher who shows little to no regard for her students. If possible, try to get a different teacher
She was very clear with instructions and gave good articles and videos to watch and was very helpful if you emailed her !
The material was clearly presented. S. Brill really encouraged critical thinking. Students were required to participate in a respectful manner.
Sharon brills is a great instructor for Health and Law Ethics. Her online classes were easy to manage and to follow. I like the discussion post that we have to do for every week.
Although this was an online class, I felt supported by the instructor. Emails ere answered ina timely manner and the course requirements were clearly laid out.
There are weekly discussions, lectures and articles to read. 4 quizzes and 1 final as well as 1 partner project. It was work but manageable.
straight forward weekly lectures and discussions, 4 quizzes, 1 partner project, 1 final
The demands of the class and the work required were clear and concise from the beginning of the course. They were honored and the discussions were very thought provoking.
Class requirements were clear from the beginning of the course. There are weekly discussions and the discussions were very Interesting . Weekly lectures and articles to read. 4 tests and one final.
The professor provides clear instructions and engaging discussions. While the workload is manageable, staying on top of readings and assignments is key. I found unstuckstudy AI helpful for exam prep alongside the course materials.
She is willing to help and offer feedback. There are alot of mini assignments for this class.
