Her policies are extremely strict, which is tolerable, but her tests make no sense. Especially the first book required. Watch her, create an archetype for her, and then during the test think of how she would say something, and that's the answer. She gives you all the notes for the whole class, but testing on the books was RARELY straight forward.

I like her becasue she's tuff, T-U-F-F! and we need more teachers like her in this world! Even thought its a CC she teaches like shes a State or U school! Why i really respect her! Lectures were somewhat helpful, but you'll only truly understand if you thoroughly read the book and have a full and complete understanding of religion to begin with; it felt like she assumed we already had knowledge of all religions discussed. Tests were really difficult, even though she allows for a study period before each.

I love her!!! She'll try to scare you off on the first day but don't go she really isn't bad. You will need to attend class regularly. And you have to study the outline she gives you (and read the first book which is a good book) I suggest making flashcards of the outline. She's a great woman I learned a lot from her

85% of the class we watched videos of a Harvard Professor teaching his class. She gives you detailed notes so book wasn't really needed. She shows you the exam a week before &I only passed them because my group figured if all of us memorized key phrases in it we could go back and study it further. She's really nice but she can get very confusing.

At first I thought I would fail this class because a person couldn't get up and leave once class started. She gets you ready for real college! Everyone rates the easy professors with the best because a 5th grader could take their classes and receive an A. She doesn't give out free grades, you earn them and learn the material too.

This was literally the first class I had experienced at Napa Valley College. She is super intimidating at first, but is by far one of the best professors I've ever had! There's only 3 tests in her class, no homework, so being in class is super important! The text she uses is really interesting, overall great class! Just study in advance.

We were supposed to cover primal religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, but only went over the first 3. She spent almost 1/2 the semester talking about spirits and magic, then 1 month on primal religions. She was disorganized and seemed frantic and uneasy. I would take this course with ANY other professor on the planet.

She truly adores what she teaches. The class is hard, and she certainly makes you work for your grade. Its helpful to take notes when needed, and coming to her lecture is useful because it's exactly like the chapters from the textbook. Reading the chapters is a must if you want to pass her class. I learned a lot from taking her class.

Your just graded on the tests (5-7) and for the final she usually makes you teach yourself 2 chapters but we got so far behind because the first 2 weeks she spent talking about nothing that had to do with the class. Now she is speeding through the lectures and no one has any idea what's going on and no one can keep up. No not take her.

University style learning. It's on you to read the boring 50+ page chapters and teach yourself. Her purpose is to skim over the topics and answer questions. She doesn't lecture, she basically calls/puts people on the spot all semester. She hands out her own lecture notes, but don't rely on them to pass. Her exams are TOUGH Doesn't curve,GPA killer.

Her class is very difficult; however, if you participate and keep an open mind during class discussion then you will stand a much better chance of doing well in the class. Philosophy is a much more difficult class and subject than I thought which is why participation and working with groups to study matters in this class.

She's not a lecturer but really pulls the answers out of her class. There is a LOT of reading and it's important to stay caught up. And you have to show up, ON TIME.

No hw, essays, or quizzes but the tests are a huge chunk. Do the readings and review the material before the test (she lets you see the test ahead of time). She is very knowledgeable and super sweet. The material itself is a little difficult to grasp, but be open minded about the topic and you should be fine. Loved this class for sure!
