She's good, as long as you study her handouts you can pass the class. And study the practice quizzes.

She is a great teacher. Her tests are straight from her notes. She also gives you practice exams which is half of the actual test. She explains the material in a way that makes it easy to understand.

I'm not the best at biology,but she makes learning a breeze. All you have to do is study your notes that's she has on the internet for you to print out and you have an easy A.

Dr. Schapel is the best kept secret at Mott. I would strongly suggest taking her for 151 and 152. You must never tell her or anyone that she is nice. She is not nice she is wonderful, but you will work for your grade but she is willing to assist you any way she can.

Good, funny, but you have to work at home. She tries to keep it interesting, so if you do the work, you'll be fine. She doesn't try to trick you

Awesome teacher. Best I have ever had at mott. She really does go out of her way to help students when they are confused. There are a lot of tests and a ton of homework, but if you do the homework, you'll do good on the test. I would definitely recommend taking her for both lab and lecture!

Dr. Shapel is awesome. I took her 151 class hoping for a 3.0 and ended up with a 4.0. I would highly recomend her. Don't get me wrong, you will have to work hard, but she helps you too. She tries to show how everything in the body works together. Definitely do the extra credits, it really helps! If you can TAKE HER CLASS!!!

There's no reason for you not to do well in her class, if you don't-it's your fault. Just attend class, review material "she provides & reviews in class", & actually study the material. She makes learning fun & interesting during her lecture & lab; regardless of your learning ability (tactle, visual, audio) you're covered. VERY APPROACHABLE/HELPFUL

Professor Schapel is the BEST teacher I've had! It's my favorite class. I was always scared to take anatomy. She makes it easy to learn. I think anyone can pass this class. A lot of homework but I enjoy doing it. It's easy, you get extra points on almost everything you do. The quizzes you have every week in lab only have 11 words to know. She's fun

Sharon is amazing. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She is super easy; powerpoints are online you print them out and bring to class. She grades quizzes before you even leave class. Not to mention shes young and funny. Drops lowest test score and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Schapel is awesome! I took her for 151 and loved her so much that I had to take her for 152. I took a spring class that was co-taught with Dr. Feige. Dr. Schapel was definitely the better of the two. I love her notes and study guides. Her questions are clear, her tests are easy (if you've read your notes), and she is extremely helpful.

Schapel is very fair in grading. She makes the class fun. Her lessons are easy to understand. Print off her notes go to class and study the notes and youll do fine.

Definitely a large number of exams/lab practicals in this class, and a lot of book work/Blackboard quizzes. That being said, the class, though not too exciting, is fairly interesting and Dr. Schapel always seems to be willing to help.

Print the notes she posts online, and pay attention to the study guide.. This class is awesome as long as you put the effort in that it needs. All you really need for your tests are your notes, she lays it all out for you.. Gives you a study guide well in advance as well as your lab practical so you know what to expect. Best prof in my 2yrs at MCC

Scapel is the best. She prints out the notes you need, you just have to fill in the blanks. So while your in class you can concentrate a bit more on what shes explaining and not writing notes out, which is a plus in any math course. She smart, breaks science down so any NORMAL person can comprehend what they need for an A! Wish she taught 152!

Dr. Schapel is not your ordinary instructor. She is very down to earth and she made me laugh every class.. She does her best to make sure you understand the material and takes different approaches. I would highly recommend to print out the study guide well in advance for lab practicals. Those can be a killer! You will NOT be bored in her class.

Sometimes she seems annoyed when people ask questions but I think that's just her attitude, because she always asks if there is questions. By far my favorite teacher. I rarely even have questions because her teaching is so clear.

By far, she is one of the best biology teachers at mott. She makes every concept as clear as day and as long as you attend lecture and lab with a scantron and maybe put in a little studying, it's a pretty easy 4.0. Knowing medical terminology helps.

Must attend every lecture or you will miss information for the filling in the blanks in powerpoint notes. She is very nice and helpful, good at answering questions. Exams are wordy and tricky on purpose so beware. Offers easy extra credit on Blackboard!

Shapel is probably the best professor for the material covered throughout the semester. If it weren't for the fill in the blank Power Point notes, lecture attendance wouldn't be necessary.. She knows what she's talking about, but goes far too fast sometimes. LOTS of tests. study, study.. Lab was good, LOTS of quizzes.. I would surely recommend her!

As someone who was absolutely terrified of taking any biology classes, I ended up with an A. She's an amazing instructor and completely changed my view on biology. I plan on taking many more of her classes.

Dr. Schapel is a great teacher she makes things easier to understand and can make specific topics less boring. Her tests were fair but I had trouble doing the lecture exams than the lab exams which were pretty easy if you pay attention to all of the models. I took this class in the spring and it was okay but it does go by very quick in two months.

I just ended her bio 151 class. It was a lot of work, don't be fooled thinking her class is a cake walk. Her questions are straight forward and easy to understand. she throws in extra credit on every test and is willing to help everyone. She is funny,helpful and a pleasure to be in her class. I received a 4.0 and I studied every day to get it.

Tests come from the lectures and notes, so attendance is necessary, especially considering model work is done in class. She offers extra credit opportunities and is available for help, of need be. She's pretty funny, too.

Dr. Schapel made every lecture enjoyable. They were very well thought out, too. Her online quizzes and lab activities improved my understanding of various aspects of human biology. Her tests - both written and practical - were challenging, but not impossible. I highly recommend her. I would love to take another one of her classes.

LOVE this class & teacher. One of the most caring & concerned teachers Mott has! She is always giving out EC, you can use a note sheet on your tests and she does a lot of hands on which is both fun and helps with the tests. She is beyond willing to help as long as you don't slack or skip class! A++ teacher! She is also funny too!

Can be a little intimidating at first but does a great job explaining the material. The homework is easy, but you'll definitely have to study for her tests if you want to pass with a good grade.

Best instructor I've had so far at Mott. She explains stuff really well, draws pictures to further her explanations. Study the lecture notes. Her exams will be right from them. If you study, her class is very easy. I took her for Bio151 and I wish I had her for 152. She gives hints on what you need to know for the test. I 100% reccomend her!

Hands down the one of the best professors I ever had. Has a personality, never rude, loves her subject and explains content thoroughly. You wont leave her class not having learned something. Tests often, but she backs that up by saying testing often over less material, students have better results (extremely correct) two sided cheat sheets too!

Loved the class but you NEED to study! Also it was a requirement to buy the textbook ($350!!) and all I ever used it for was the A&P access code in the back of the book, which you can buy separately.

I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Schapel cares about her students. She offers extra credit. Her tests questions come straight from her lecture notes. She gives you study guides for the Lab Practicals. There are class activities during every class worth points(this is an easy way to get points).

I had her for on-line bio. Class was very well organized, easy to follow/find everything you need. Straight-forward in what you need to do on assignments, and what you were responsible for on the tests. Make sure you watch her videos! Or listen to them while doing other things. That's where most test questions come from, more helpful than book.

I took one of this professors online classes. Even though I never got that face-to-face experience, she was a great professor, and I felt like I actually learned from her class. I totally recommend her!

All the material was straightforward and easily accessible. There were no surprises on the tests if you study the lecture videos.

Prof. Schapel loves what she does and it shows in her teaching. She gives study guides for exams and truly helps out her students in any way she can. Get back with you over email and has plenty of office hours to get in touch as well. 10/10 recommend.

I took this class online and loved it. she responds to emails in a timely fashion and the class is laid out for you in a good format. she doesn't throw and surprises at you or last second assignments.

Her lectures and labs prepare you for exactly what will be on the exams. This class is hard, but she really sets you up to learn and do well as long as you put the work in!

I really enjoyed having Dr. Schapel for my Anatomy & Physiology class! It was online due to the pandemic, which I was extremely nervous about. She gave us a lot of great resources to use, which helped me retain so much more info than I would have. Be patient with yourself, put in the time she suggests, take advantage of the resources she provides!

A fantastic teacher. She was always accessible outside of class. Participation matters, gives several extra credit opportunities, allows 2 chances for each test and quiz she gives. I wish she was teaching bio 152. Its not an easy class but if you study what she gives you you will do fine.

Sharon was a GREAT techer! She was easy to get ahold of for any questions and even provided zoom meetings the day before the test for anyone to ask questions or get clarification on. I really liked that lectures were pre-recorded and uploaded so you are able to go back and listen when needed. I wish that the lab were in person, but it worked out!

Sharon is the best bio teacher I've come across. She explains the modules and also gives a great study plan for the weeks to help students in prioritizing. She communicates well and is willing to help whenever. You have to meet her halfway and study the content. Tests are to be expected on the difficulty. Study and this class will be a breeze.

She was amazing for my bio class. I was all virtual and her module layout was perfection! I learned so much. I would say the workload is just enough and easy to manage. She does PowerPoint and voiceovers. Top tier teacher truly. No doubt would take her course again.

I have Dr. Schapel for BIOL 152. So much better than my BIOL 151 prof. She has many resources available to help us learn, rather than having to do everything by ourselves. She sends out a weekly study plan so we know what to do each week. She is quick to respond to emails, and has zoom meetings for office hours when you have questions. THE BEST
